With James Toney signing with the UFC, it got me thinking about having a section of fighters/athletes from other sports that you can either go to or be aproached by for a contract or go to another promotion to start an MMA career. You could have a list of Boxers, Kickboxers, American Football players, College/Olympic Wrestlers and BJJ athletes, all with records in this sport and a background.

What i mean is Pro Boxers/Kickboxers and such that have yet to crossover, guys that have to be lured from their sport to MMA.

I'm assuming you mean a separate pool of 0-0's with massive reputations? Their are already a couple of these guys out there, but not guys that you have to "win" into the game. Heikichi Shimizu, Sukarno, there's an indonesian guy I think, are all guys who start with nothing records but big demands. It's as close as you need to get really.

Like that but with seperate records for pro Boxing and Kickboxing and even wrestling.

I like this idea. Assuming that the Cornellverse timeline for WMMA3 will have shifted forward again as if did from WMMA1 to WMMA2, then the addition of crossover stars as 'yet to debut' fighters in the database would be a relevent and fun addtion.

A news article could announce:

** Wade Rudy, former professional footballer with the Manchester Scallywags, has reportedly decided to try his hand at a career in mixed martial arts. The shock moves follows his lifetime ban from soccer for accruing a record 39 red cards for violent conduct in 38 games last season. The latest reports indicate that Rudy will shortly be relocating to train at the world class facilities of Euro Team Thunder, a clear indication that he is taking the switch to MMA seriously. Early indications from team mate Alberto Barosa suggest that Rudy is a natural when using his fists. When Blurcat asked the young Englishman to comment on rumours that he was just days away from signing with a major MMA promotion, we were told to "Calm down". Stay tuned to Blurcat.com for more on this story as it unfolds. **

..and so on. These characters should only be willing to work for the highest-profile promotions and have crazy wage demands. It'd be an extra challenge for players of top promotions (where things can get a bit easy after a while) to book them in such a way that they can actually develop into decent fighters.

Yeah this feature is already in the game...

Just if you want to show they have a seperate record from another sport you would just add in their profile and set there experience level accordingly.
