Storyline Suggestions

If you have suggestions for additional storylines, please use this thread rather than posting separate topics for each. Please remember that the following restrictions apply:

- A storyline can branch out into other storylines (i.e. if you succeed at storyline A then storyline B is available the next month, but if you fail then storyline C is used instead), but you cannot have branches within a storyline itself (i.e. you cannot have it so that if you win match #1 then match X happens, if you lose then match Y happens) but you can have different attributes applied depending on wins and losses to simulate different paths.

- The result of the storyline (succeed \ neutral \ fail) must be dependent on the results of the matches.

- If you have too many 'cast members' in the storyline it could become very difficult for many promotions to use it because they won't have enough people on the roster; usually you can assume there are at least 9 people plus the player himself.

I don't know if there is one, but what about a USA vs. Canada storyline? Winning the war would eventually establish you as a top contender for a title, and you must win the majority of the matches (If you're a American, you will face just Canadians and if you're a Canadian, you will face just Americans) to succeed. There could be a huge 5 vs. 5 match in the end to end the war.

I've barely seen any storylines since I only played the demo, but perhaps some company takeover thing where you can participate in or against?

At the risk of causing extra work, would it be possible to see a list of existing Storylines (and Attributes if possible) that are already in the game? It might help avoid duplication, as well as highlight what is possible.

Obviously don't know if there is this storyline but it would be great if there's a storyline that allows a woman wrestler to compete against men in company where there's a womens division. For example your woman wrestler has successfully defended the championship x times but gets called out by a male wrestler who says that the womens division is a joke. If you defeat that wrestler then you get to compete on the male side. I would imagine that something like this is an absolute necessity if you are going to achieve a lot of the goals in the game.

David vs. Goliath - The player is a light heavyweight or lower in size (or perhaps middleweight, not sure which would be better). He must face *insert heavyweight+ worker at his level here* in a series of matches that culminates in a gimmick match. Only the outcome of the final match matters but there is an extra reward for winning all four.

That can of course be changed around so it's more reasonable but overall I think it'd be a great addition implying it's not already in the game.

To perhaps replace the inevitable 'Under Pressure...' storyline for tag teamers after a particularly big tag team storyline (Legendary Champions, for example):

Splitting of a Partnership: As the result of a recent loss, your tag team partnership with X has fractured due to in-fighting. After a tag team match to get the breakup started*, you face your former partner in three head-to-head bouts. You must win at least two of those three contests for the storyline to be considered a success. Failure sees you losing popularity.

* = win or lose, it would be cool to have a post match beat down from your partner after that match.

In effort to create an illusion that the company you work is a living, breathing thing, it would be cool to have a manager interact with your (manager-less) wrestler.

Scouting Party: In effort to procure talent for his/her stable of wrestlers, Manager X has announced that he/she intends to scout the company's roster. Defeat three Level A* wrestlers in order to gain Manager X's attention. Losing one or more contests results in failure.

Failure could result in the 'Under Pressure...' storyline.

Success leads to...

An Offer You Can't Refuse: Impressed with your recent exploits, Manager X announces his/her intention to offer you a contract. First, you will must face and defeat three Level A wrestlers and one Level B wrestler. Winning all four matches results in a contract with Manager X. Losing more than one contest results in failure.

Failure leads to 'Under Pressure...'
Neutral leads to normal listing of storylines; i.e., manager loses interest
Success leads to manager contract.

* Level A = the level your wrestler works / Level B = one level higher

maybe in the next game we can be allowed to choose gimmicks and the gimmick can make differnt storylines happen? for example if you have the gimmick of Cult Leader maybe you have a storyline where you are collecting members to join the cult? either that or it connect to the gimmick type (Cool, Cocky, Weird, Crazy etc) so a crazy character just goes on a rampage through the roster, while a cocky character might have to try and fight guys who are made out to be better than he is in the roster so fights all of them to prove people wrong
