NEW! Update!

Any news on this? I keep checking every day and nothing new.

Hes not going to respond, its been like 4 months since hes said anything. The last thing he said was it should be ready before 2017, and its march.

Derek DiBenedetto 03-05-2017 10:28 AM

The game is still around, though it's been on hiatus due to life stuff, an important code plugin that broke and the maker has been slow to update it, and some decisions I need to make regarding the game's distribution as well.

People who don't know how coding works don't know how much work is needed to create a game, especially if it is 1 person creating them.

For example, Microsoft Word has between 20 to 40 MILLION lines of code in it. Now these games wouldn't have that lol, but it is still A LOT of work.

Showed you didn't he? Maybe you will think twice about being rude to someone who is putting a ton of work into something that is for everyone's entertainment.

He didn't show me anything, he said it'd be ready before 2017 and its still not ready. Im not going to sugar coat how i feel about that. I was hoping he'd respond because this is a game that i'd like to play.

I understand. Not trying to "show someone" anything at all; just busy with a lot of other stuff and making important decisions about the future of the product.

Possibly something to do with Star Merchant and Cavern Of Time currently available on Steam

Clarity 04-19-2017 03:02 PM

Or Catacombs that has just gone up on Steam Greenlight

Derek DiBenedetto 05-22-2017 05:06 PM

I am actually working on this again; had taken a break to do a variety of things on Steam, and the project was held up by some plugin and code issues that I resolved as of today. The game is back on track, and i'll be putting up more regular updates in the next few days.

It's about 75% complete now; adding in-race display/decisions, save games and between-seasons progression is all that's left to do.

Setting up sponsors, tracking stats, simming races, building new cars, driver injuries, driver training, special random events, setting up drivers and crew chiefs (and their contracts) is all finished and working well.

Will there be a database to edit like in TEW?

Not really an existing database, but you'll be able to create .FLU files that you can populate with drivers, tracks, sponsors, etc. and your own stats that the game can load with a few clicks. So you can literally recreate NASCAR 1987 or whatever you want and play that world in-game.

Since it's possible to create your own database, would that mean it would be possible for me to simulate, for example, the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars?

Whats going on?

Ok this is flatout ridiculous!!! This game was 30% done in October 2014! It was supposed to come out in early 2015!!! Its been 2 1/2 years since the release date! This is really a shame on this whole company promising something 2 1/2 years ago and its still not released! And this developer has been on every day and he hasn't given an update in over a month! I want updates so we know hes not just screwing with us. Really this is a shame! Ive been looking forward to this for almost 3 years. I'm livid!

Rmoons24 06-25-2017 11:13 PM

Agree 100%, it is completely ridiculous.
