NJPW New Beginning in Yokohama

Pre-show: Yuji Nagata, Tiger Mask & Takeshi Yamaguchi def. Togi Makabe, Jushin Liger & Oleg Boltin in 5:14


Kenny Omega, Yujiro Takahashi, Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson defeated Jake Lee, Naoya Nomura, Daichi Hashimoto & Takuya Nomura in 7:35 when Kenny used the One Winged Angel on Takuya 76 B-



KENTA, Naomichi Marufuji & Shota Umino defeated Suwama, Shuji Ishikawa & Ren Narita in 11:18 when Marufuji used a Tiger Flowsion on Narita 74 B-



Kazuchika Okada, YOSHI-HASHI, Tomohiro Ishii, SHO & YOH defeated KUSHIDA, Juice Robinson, Kota Ibushi, Satoshi Kojima & Tetsuhiro Yagi in 9:49 when Roppongi 3k used 3k on Yagi 80 B



Jay White, David Finlay Jr, Toa Henare & Shotaro Ashino defeated Tetsuya Naito, EVIL, SANADA & BUSHI in 13:37 when Ashino used the Ankle Lock to force BUSHI to tap out 87 B+

After the match Jay White laid out Naito with the Shellshock ahead of their title match.




Hiromu Takahashi defeated Ryusuke Taguchi in 1:07 after Hiromu used a Sunset Flip Powerbomb off the apron before rolling Taguchi back into the ring to hit the Time Bomb for the quick pinfall 66 C
Hiromu Takahashi makes defence number 4 of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title



Hiromu grabbed a microphone and began laughing asking for the next victim to step forward when Jushin Liger stood up from the commentary table and rolled into the ring.

Liger asked for one last chance at the title saying that with his retirement happening next year he doesn't know if he'll ever get the chance again.
Hiromu began laughing again, bowed to Liger and left the ring walking down the entrance ramp still laughing.




Will Ospreay defeated Jeff Cobb in 9:15 via DQ when Kenny Omega's interference caused Red Shoes to call for the bell 86 B+

After around 6 minutes of back and forth action with neither man able to gain a significant advantage Kenny Omega, who came to ringside with Cobb, called Cobb to the outside and whispered in his ear. Cobb re-entered the ring and lay down on his back asking for Ospreay to pin him. Ospreay and Red Shoes looked at each other both as confused as the other. Ospreay went for the weak cover as Red Shoes reluctantly counted to 2 but Ospreay pulled up Cobb's shoulder telling him that he was going to beat him the right way. This was the point where Kenny on the outside snapped and jumped in the ring, pushed Red Shoes out of the way and attacked Ospreay with a vicious V-Trigger.

Omega & Cobb continued to beat down Ospreay until a man in jeans and a Chaos hoodie jumped the barrier pushing young lions out of the way before hitting Cobb with a huge knee strike sending him rolling out the ring with Kenny jumping after him to escape the hooded man.




The man took off the hoodie and threw it at Kenny on the outside revealing himself to be Shinsuke Nakamura stood in a New Japan ring for the first time in just over 3 years.

The crowd freaked out and began chanting Nakamura's name as Ospreay used the ropes to pull himself up. Nakamura put out his hand and shook Ospreay's hand before helping him walk to the back.




Katsuya Kitamura & Tomoyuki Oka defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi & Hirooki Goto in 18:24 when Kitamura used a Jackhammer on Tanahashi 90 A

In a backstage interview Katsuya Kitamura said that he & Oka are coming for the tag team titles and warned the winner of next weeks title match that they will be ready and waiting to challenge the winner. Kitamura also said on a personal note that a goal he has set for himself this year is to defeat the three men that beat him in his trial series last year before he went on excursion and wants to start that at the Anniversary show challenging KUSHIDA to a match.




Kento Miyahara defeated Kaito Kiyomiya in 16:58 when Kento used a Shutdown German Suplex Hold 81 B
Kento Miyahara makes defence number 1 of the IWGP Intercontinental Title

Kento ended the show by thanking the fans for coming and announced that when NJPW return to Yokohama later in the year for Destruction the show would be held at Yokohama Arena
