If you want to eliminate striking as much as possible (and you have a ton of time on your hands) you could try editing every fighter's tactics to only include the grappling-based strategies.

Great idea, that along with editing the standup/striking abilities should do the trick, or close enough...

I'll be using the fantastic Modern Warrior Real World Mod; 16 fighters will participate, details to follow soon....

I already tried this in the past, but even when setting the strategies to grappling and setting the standup skills to 0, they will still try kickboxing. To eliminate KO's though you should set chin strenght to 100 and all striking skills to 1 (or perhaps 0). It will probably never happen.

Logical finals would be Werdum /vs/ Gracie. Unless you actually get to disable the striking altogether.

I have a post in the suggestion forum on this, it (along with getting TV based promotions realistic) is the most needed change. The tactics of a fighter have basically no bearing on how the fight turns out as is.

I actually was working on a K-1 mod and had fleshed it out quite a bit, but no matter what I did regarding tactics and skills every other fight the guy with the weaker standup skills would try to pull guard or shoot takedowns constantly.

That said, with a little imagination (tweak stats to make KO's unlikely, fudge the results for the sake of the diary to ignore any wayward striking) this stands to be cool.

The 16 participants taking part in the 2012 World Grappling Championships were officially announced today at a special press-event from the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro. The tournament will take place over two days with first round qualifying being held on Saturday May 26th and the eliminations rounds and grand finals culminating on Sunday May 27th. The event will be broadcast on ESPN Brasil.
