Default World Wrestling Entertainment :: The Big Time

...The Big Time...

Quote:
During the 1980’s wrestling had become extremely popular. At the head of the wrestling industry was the World Wrestling Federation, and their champion Hulk Hogan. They had competition from companies such as the NWA, WCCW, AWA, and the USWA. None of them could come close to the national attention the WWF had gained, though.

But during the early 90’s, things changed. Ted Turner bought out the NWA and formed WCW or World Championship Wrestling. This new organization quickly started to gain respect from wrestling fans because the WWF’s programming quality had deteriorated without competition. And in 1994, WCW acquired wrestling's biggest name, Hulk Hogan. Their ratings began to go higher than the WWF’s, and they were selling more merchandise. WCW had taken over, and the WWF was left to pick up the pieces.

And how did they do that? With “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Wrestling had always been conducted in a certain way. The good guy fought the bad guy, plain and simple. But things started to change. The fans were cheering for the bad guy, Steve Austin, when they were supposed to be booing him. The WWF quickly capitalized on this by changed their style. No longer did superhero
type good guys defeat evil villain gad guys. Now the tough guys who didn’t care what the fans thought became popular. The established good guys were now acting arrogant and overconfident.

With the help of owner Vince McMahon, the WWF started marketing wrestling differently. It wasn’t being geared toward kids, but now to a more mature audience. Merchandising sales went up, attendance to shows went up, even the rating went up. By 1998, the World Wrestling Federation was undoubtedly back on top. They’ve stayed there ever since, and show no signs of coming down.

Quote:
Vince McMahon: Ladies and Gentlemen, It's my sad obligation to report that Stephanie McMahon will no longer be controlling the booking here at the WWE. Decisions that have been deemed laughable by our crowds have led us to believe that she is no longer fit to run this part of the company. She will still be a valued asset to the roster, but we've found somebody new who will reveal himself at the next RAW show. Thank you very much.

...And So It Begins...

'Episode 1'

Pre-Show: Kofi Kingston defeats Ezekiel Jackson with a Trouble in Paradise
Rating: C

- Announcers -
- Jim Ross - Michael Cole -

Michael Cole: Helloooo to Everybody at the Nassau Coliseum !
Jim Ross: And boy am I in a good mood tonight.
Michael Cole: And why might that be JR ?
Jim Ross: Because the countdown to No Way Out is starting tonight...
Michael Cole: And we've got 5 Potential contenders for the RAW Elimination Chamber tonight !
Jim Ross: One of which, is Edge, the WWE Champion !
Michael Cole: What do you think will happen if Edge doesn't win his match tonight JR ?
Jim Ross: Well the boss has made it very clear that if Edge does not qualify for the RAW Elimination Chamber, his WWE Championship will be vacated and put on the line for No Way Out among Six different competitors.
Michael Cole: So the Main Event is a Tag Clash between Edge and Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio and Shawn Michaels, the winners will move on to No Way Out.
Jim Ross: Speaking of Edge and Micheals did I just see them on the Titantron ?
Michael Cole: Yessir you did, let's actually pay attention to this shall we ?

Quote:

We See Shawn Michaels walk into Edge backstage. Michaels attempts to continue walking forward, but Edge grabs his shoulder and pulls him back, in an attempt to try to get him to apologize. Edge stares at him, and puts his hands up trying to motion Shawn into what he wants. Michaels continues to stare blankly into Edge's eyes, as Edge starts to talk.

Edge: I don't like you Michaels. You're an impolite... selfish... JERK ! You don't care about anybody else in this room, in this building, you only want to better yourself, some could say we're alot alike, but I like to think that I'm way better then you Michaels. You see, I do care about others, and tonight, when I step into the ring, you'll see that the fans are Cheering for ME ! Not you.

Edge then walks away. Shawn Michaels then continues walking while Muttering something under his breath

Shawn Michaels: Dumbass.

Michaels then turns back, like he has something to say.

Shawn Michaels: You know what Edge ? You say that I'm Impolite, Selfish, and a Jerk ? It's easy to call names, but can you back it up in the ring ? It seems that everytime you hold a Championship belt, your ego swells up so much more than it should, and then you begin to belittle others. So just walk away Edge, I'll show you what the Showstopper...

Michaels takes a brief pause

Shawn Michaels: What the Heartbreak Kid, What MR WRESTLEMANIA HIMSELF CAN DO !!!

Edge turns back

Edge: Shawn, I'll see you in the ring tonight, and let's all hope that you don't hide behind Rey Mysterio tonight, because I want you, to step right in and fight me. We'll see who's really deserving of stepping into the Elimination Chamber next week.

Quote:

Big Show quickly takes the center of the ring and takes a swing at the Great Khali. Khali moves forward and takes another massive right hand from the Big Show. Khali is now down on the ground. Big Show starts stomping the face of Khali, who curls into the fetal position, and Big Show winds up for a big punch to the face of the downed Khali. Khali rolls into the ring ropes, where Big Show picks him up and Irish Whips him into the ropes. Khali bounces back and Big Show throws a big boot, but Khali catches it and pushes him into the ropes. Khali starts letting loose with a flurry of punches and Big Show goes over the top rope. Khali now exits onto the ring apron, but just as he does Big Show gets up and pulls him down, dropping the back of Khali's head onto the apron. Khali is holding his head as Big Show begins to throw kicks to the face of Khali. The referee is counting, and Big Show enters the ring, and Khali follows as the referee hits 6. Khali throws a punch and Big Show counters it into a Spinebuster. Khali reaches for the ropes, trying to pull himself to his feet, but Big Show runs for a punt kick to the face, but gets his foot stuck in the ropes, and Khali goes for his patented Vice Grip. Just as he tries it, Show hits him with a back kick straight to the groin, and Khali staggers back, allowing Big Show to hit him with a massive Choke Slam, putting him down for the 3 Count, Big Show is now going to the RAW Elimination Chamber.

Rating
C+

Michael Cole: Wow, So Big Show is going to the Elimination Chamber next Sunday !
Jim Ross: Quite the match indeed, Big Show will be going to the Elimination Chamber, and with him in the Chamber, it might be tough for anybody to win the Gold !

Quote:

The Bell Rings and Knox is quick to run in, as is R-Truth. Truth starts with a flurry of punches, followed by a jumping knee to the face of Mike Knox. Knox falls into the corner, and R-Truth lets loose with yet another flurry of punches, before throwing Knox to the canvas, and climbing the top rope. Knox is quick to his feet though, and runs to the corner, crotches R-Truth, and throws him into the ring. R-Truth rolls out of the ring to gain some energy. Knox follows him out, and R-Truth hits him with an Irish Whip to the barricade, where he lands a powerful headbutt before running back to the ring. The referee is counting, and Knox realizes it, as he stumbles into the ring. R-Truth runs and bounces of the ropes and hits a jumping clothesline. He continues to bounce off the other ropes and hits a jumping legdrop. R-Truth picks Mike up to his feet, and hits his patented Axe Kick, and gets the three count. R-Truth is the winner in this match-up.

Rating
C+

Michael Cole: R-Truth with the victory ! What's Up !
Jim Ross: R-Truth could very well be one of the best potential stars in the WWE today, let's hope he can keep that enthusiasm and continue his rise up the WWE Ladder.
Michael Cole: And now it's a Women's Title Match-Up, Let's get to it !

Quote:
Melina © vs Michelle McCool
WWE Women's Title

Melina and McCool meet each other in the center of the ring. Michelle throws a high kick, but Melina catches it and sweeps the leg. Melina waits as Michelle stands, and as she does, Melina kicks her straight in the gut and flattens her out with a DDT. McCool is now motionless on the canvas, and Melina lifts her to her feet. McCool gets her legs back under her, but just as she does, Melina hits a slick Sunset Flip, and pins the destroyed Michelle McCool. Melina defends her WWE Women's Title in a great performance.

Rating
D+

Jim Ross: Great Performance from Women's Champion Melina tonight against the very tough Michelle McCool huh Mike ? ... Mike ?

Quote:

Michael Cole: I'm here with my guest tonight, Rey Mysterio. Hello Rey, How's it going, Como Estas ?
Rey Mysterio: Esta Bien, It's going good Mike.
Michael Cole: Glad to hear it. So, you've got a match with Edge and Cody Rhodes tonight, with the Legendary Shawn Michaels on your team. How does that feel.
Rey Mysterio: Shawn Michaels is a good friend of mine, and It's an honor to work with him and being on the same team as him is an honor so big that it's almost too hard to explain. I cannot wait for tonight's match.
Michael Cole: Well, No doubt Shawn is a legend, but you was what Edge said about Shawn Michaels earlier tonight, how does that make you feel ?
Rey Mysterio: I can't understand what would make Edge say something like that. Shawn Michaels has been in some of the best matches in WWE history, he's been here since 1988. Over 20 Years, and to have somebody like Edge disrespect him. I want Edge to be able to feel the pain and suffering, that Shawn Michaels has felt, after working 21 years with the WWE. I want Edge's Back, His Neck, His Arms His Legs, His EVERYTHING, to be in pain after tonight's match. I want him, to suffer.
Michael Cole: Those are some strong words Rey, and Cody Rhodes, what about him ?
Rey Mysterio: Cody Rhodes has done nothing to me, nor Shawn Michaels, but his work with that Snake Randy Orton, and for him to team up with Edge tonight sickens me. I want Cody Rhodes to lose tonight's match-up, but not nearly in the same way that I want Edge to lose it.
Michael Cole: Well Rey, I can't wait to watch the match, see you later Rey.
Rey Mysterio: You Too Mike, you too.

Quote:

Paul Burchill quickly begins the match-up with a brutal kick to the gut of Kung Fu Naki. Naki Irish Whips Paul Burchill after countering a punch to the face. Paul Burchill bounces off the ropes and Kung Fu Naki Leapfrogs over him. As Burchill bounces back once more, Naki hits a beautiful kick to the face and attempts the pin. He gets a two count, but Burchill pushes him off and gets to his feet. Burchill hoists him into the air and hits a powerful backbreaker. Burchill lifts him back to his feet, and hits a C-4, before getting the pin.

Quote:

Ted DiBiase Jr: People of the WWE Universe. I have something to say. I'm the best in the WWE today, and if anybody doesn't believe me, I'll prove it. I'll be the one going to the Elimination Chamber, and Cody Rhodes will be joining me.

The Crowd begins to boo DiBiase

Ted DiBiase Jr: Now as you may have noticed, there was a recent draft, and Me and Cody were seperated from Randy Orton. At first we were upset, but we then realized, now the Legacy will dominate 2 different shows. But don't get me wrong, the Legacy will soon be reunited and we'll be better than ever. I'll be taking on the Boogeyman later tonight and...

The Boogeyman: I'm the Boogeyman ! And Ted DiBiase, you're going to fight me RIGHT NOW !!!

Quote:

Ted DiBiase is already in shock after The Boogeyman's surprise arrival, The Boogeyman quickly jumped on DiBiase and hit a flurry of mounted punches. DiBiase kicks him off, and gets to his feet. DiBiase clutches Boogeyman's shoulders, and rotates to his back, grabbing hold of a Full Nelson hold. He then hits a Full Nelson Backbreaker before trying a pinfall, he gets the two count before getting kicked off. Boogeyman tries a suplex, but is stopped in his tracks, as DiBiase hits a suplex of his own. DiBiase then hits a couple of stomps before setting up his Million Dollar Dream and gets the tapout from the Boogeyman.

Rating

Jim Ross: DiBiase goes to the Elimination Chamber, Will Cody Rhodes go as well ?
Michael Cole: I don't know, but It's coming up right after this match between Jeff Hardy and Shelton Benjamin.

Quote:

Jeff Hardy is almost instantly in the center of the ring, and Shelton is not much slower, as they are almost instantly ready to engage. Hardy quickly grabs ahold of Shelton, and hits a nice arm drag. Shelton gets to his feet rather quickly and hits a nice flying clothesline. Hardy takes it right on the chin, and flips right over Shelton's arm. Shelton climbs the top rope and prepares to jump down, but just as he does Hardy gets to his feet and hits an enziguiri, dropping Benjamin off the top rope and into the ring, face first. Hardy runs to the ropes and hits a springboard body press and goes for the pin. Rope break, the referee seperates them and stands them up. Shelton throws a punch, and follows it up with a rope rebound lariat. Jeff is now slumped against the ropes, and Shelton is running for a Super Kick, but Jeff dodges and Shelton's foot is now far off of the top rope, and in a split-legged position, Jeff tries to hit his Extreme Twist of Fate, but Shelton blocks it and hits a Judo Toss out of the ring that lands them both on their backs and trying to get up. The referee begins the 10 count. He gets to 6 before both men are already in the ring. Jeff hits a nice dropsault before climbing to the top rope to hit a Swanton Bomb, but Shelton Benjamin counters it into a Paydirt ! Jeff Hardy is now lying on the canvas, out of it, and Shelton tries the pin. 1... 2... KICK OUT ! Incredible kick out from Jeff Hardy. Jeff hits a spinning wheel kick, and a couple stomps, to make sure Shelton is too tired to get up. Hardy climbs up, and hits a beautiful Swanton Bomb, and gets the pinfall. Jeff Hardy is going to the Elimination Chamber.

Rating
B+
Jim Ross: Now That Was A Bonified Slobber-Knocker, and so will this next match, what do you think Mike ?
Michael Cole: Of Course JR ! If Rey wrestles like he was talking, it should be no contest who wins, but no doubt will it be a good one !

Quote:

Michaels and Edge are the first to start in the ring. Michaels runs in with a flying fist, before hitting a succession of jabs followed by a back chop. Edge is now located right next to Rhodes in his corner. Michaels drags Edge to the center of the ring and begins wrenching his arm, and then grabs his back. Michaels lands a beautiful lifting backbreaker, which leaves Edge injured on the canvas. Edge hits a powerful Big Boot followed by a stomp which now has the tables turned on Michaels. Edge tries a surfboard stretch next to the ropes but a Rope Break is called. Edge opts not to let go of the hold, instead waiting for Mysterio to break it himself. Michaels breaks the chain of moves by hitting a back chop, and Irish Whipping Edge into the corner, where Michaels tags Mysterio, and hits Edge with a Tag Drop Toe Hold & Elbow Drop. Mysterio is now in the ring. Mysterio hits a combination of punches before hitting a Flying Mayorana, throwing Edge to the other side of the ring, and back to his feet. Mysterio hits a nice flying elbow, and a couple stomps, before lifting Edge to his feet and hitting some elbows to his back, dropping him to his knees, and eventually on his face. Edge eventually reverses a punch from Mysterio and the two begin swinging with wild punches. Edge hits a Knee Lift to Mysterio before leveling him with a clothesline. Edge hits a flurry of stomps followed by an Elbow Drop. Rey then gets to his feet. Edge tries to hit a Clothesline but Rey reverses it into a Small Package ! Before the referee can begin counting, Edge has kicked out. Rey then tags out to Michaels, but the two hit a tag Double Hip Toss & Elbow Drop, allowing Michaels to become the legal competitor. Rhodes is still on the side of the ring trying to convince Edge to tag out. Michaels hits a couple stomps and then a Double Axe Handle before Edge manages to get up, but just as he does, Michaels hits a nice running Elbow, putting him back down on the canvas. Michaels then hits a nice Russian Legsweep. Michaels tries to hit an Elbow Drop from the top rope, but Rhodes pushes him right off, allowing Edge to make the tag. Michaels hits a nice Neckbreaker to Rhodes to start Rhodes' match off, but Rhodes hits a succession of punches before hitting an Arm Wringer Flip. Rhodes lifts him up, hits another couple punches, and then an Arm-Drag. As Rhodes gets ready to stomp on Michaels, Rey Mysterio grabs his arms, and Michaels gets up and Slaps him across the face. Michaels then bounces off the ropes, and Tackles Rhodes. Rhodes tries to get up and Irish Whip Michaels into the corner, but Michaels reverses it, throwing Rhodes into the corner instead, where he hits a couple knees to the body, and then some stomps to a downed Rhodes.

Edge then distracts Michaels, and Rhodes gets up and begins to wrench Michael's arm. HBK eventually manages to throw him off, and hits a beautiful right hand. Michaels now tries to hit his Signature Elbow Drop from the top rope, but Rhodes moves and he misses. They Get Up, and Michaels hits an Arm Wringer Flip to Legdrop, before locking in his Signature Figure Four Leglock. Edge manages to distract the referee and allow Rhodes to escape. But not before long, Michaels begins to tune up the band, and as Rey Mysterio distracts Edge, Michaels hits some Sweet Chin Music to Cody Rhodes, which leaves him down and out. Edge runs into the ring and hoists Rhodes to his feet, but as he does that, Michaels lays Edge out with a clothesline, and Tags Mysterio into the ring. Mysterio runs and tries to hit his signature Bulldog, but Rhodes reverses him with a nice Hip Toss. Rhodes hits an elbow drop to a downed Rey Mysterio, and as Mysterio is getting up, he throws a kick, which is also reversed by an elbow to the thigh, courtesy of Cody Rhodes. Edge then tags into the ring, which leaves Cody Rhodes shocked and upset. But the referee tells him to get out of the ring, so he does. Edge then takes two Flying Forearms in a row from Rey Mysterio. Rey tries to Run once more at Edge, but is tossed over. Edge then begins to stomp on Mysterio. Michaels grabs a hold of Edge from outside of the ring, and Mysterio takes a leap and hits him with a Flying Forearm ! Michaels is then tagged in. But Michaels decides he doesn't want in, so he takes Edge's head in a Headlock, and throws him into the two feet of Mysterio, which Leaves Edge down and out. Mysterio hits his signature Bulldog, and tags out to Michaels. Michaels Tunes Up The Band, and He has a Song To Play... SWEET CHIN MUSIC !!! Michaels goes for the pin, and He Gets It ! HBK and Mysterio are going to the Elimination Chamber !!!

Rating

Jim Ross: Bah Gawd ! That Was Incredible !!!
Michael Cole: You're Telling Me ! Mysterio and Michaels going to the Elimination Chamber, but who will be the Sixth Competitor ?

Quote:

Edge: You're Kidding Me Right ? They Won ? NOBODY BEATS ME !!! I'M THE CHAMPION ! NOBODY BEATS ME ! I Have to go to the Elimination Chamber ! I Can't Lose My Belt Like This ! It's... It's... It's Sabotage, It's Rigged, It's... It's... Aaahhh !

The Crowd begins to laugh at a shocked and annoyed Edge

Edge: STOP LAUGHING !!! IT'S NOT FUNNY ! You Probably go home every night and Play Your Smackdown vs Raw games, Hoping that one day it'll turn out like your game, that Edge will Lose... Well, get your licks and laughs in now, because Edge, will not lose again... I Want My Spot In That Chamber !

Jeff Hardy: You Want Your Spot So Bad Edge ? I've got a little proposition for you.
Edge: Get out of Here Jeff ! I don't want your sympathy.
Jeff Hardy: Fine, If you don't want a spot in the Elimination Chamber, I'll just leave...

A Glimmer of hope appears in the eyes of Edge

Edge: Wait... What ?
Jeff Hardy: I've Just Spoken to the new commish, he gave me the rights to offer this to you. Next week, on RAW, you and me, One on One, in a Falls Count Anywhere match. If you win, You get a spot in the Elimination Chamber, If I win, I get your WWE Championship going into No Way Out.
Edge: My Title vs A Spot In The Elimination Chamber ? You're Out of your Mind Jeff.
Jeff Hardy: Think about, you win, You're Happy. I Win, I'm Happy, either way, I don't want to see you in the Elimination Chamber, You don't want me to have your title, so why not try to defend it the fair way, instead of being a chicken and trying to hide behind a wall of trash talk. You're delaying the inevitable Edge, you're not going to have that title for long, so why not try to keep it with you, instead of taking the cowards way out...

Jeff Begins to walk up the ramp and out of the arena.

Edge: I'll do it.
Jeff Hardy: Glad to hear it, and by the way, here's the man who gave me the authorization to offer you this.

Vinnie Jones: Hello Edge, You'll be seeing alot of me in the future, as I'm sure you'll have more than one complaint to make. Either way, enjoy your time as champion, take pictures, remember the good old days, as this time two weeks from now, chances are you won't be holding it in your arms anymore...

Even though some things that WWE is doing right now I like I.E. Shaemus as WWE Champion. Will be reading.

Pro Wrestling Rumors

-Rumor has it that the WWE is currently in talks of bringing former stars Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley back to the WWE. Lashley left to pursue a career in Mixed Martial Arts just recently. Brock Lesnar, also currently competing in MMA, is the UFC Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar however left the WWE in 2004 due to wanting to pursue a career in the National Football League (The NFL). Both men would be valued members of the WWE roster should they return and would instantly add more star power to the WWE's packed roster.

-More former stars potentially on their way back to the WWE as well, as New WWE Owner and Head Booker Vinnie Jones has sent out E-Mails, Phone Calls, and has gotten in contact with the managers of former stars Paul London, Christian Cage, Sean Morley (aka Val Venis) and Mark Jindrak. Mark Jindrak, is currently the only one with a contract, currently working with CMLL.

-Multiple Drug Users caught in the WWE. After the RAW, ECW and Smackdown! tapings, Owner Vinnie Jones had some decisions to make. Here are the Users and the announced punishment according to the WWE Wellness Policy.

Alicia Fox - Hard Drugs - Fine
Brian Kendrick - Soft Drugs - Told off Angrily by Mr. Jones
Brian Kendrick - Steroids - Fine
William Regal - Steroids - Fine
Randy Orton - Hard Drugs - Fine

-New Talent Initiative in the works ? According to an Interview with Mr Vinnie Jones, he plans on bringing multiple new stars to the promotion and have them go through ECW. Here's a snippet from the interview :

'I want some new stars, because alot of the roster is aged over 36 years old. Barring the Divas. That means we're going to need some new stars, and that means we have to work fast, because at some point, someone like the Undertaker or Shawn Michaels is just going to go: "I can't take this anymore ! I'm done !" and quit. So, my plan is to bring in a lot of new talent, get a new development promotion, send some talent there, send some talent through ECW. Once they connect with the fans, THEN we bring them onto the main roster, where they can have a chance at becoming an even bigger star. It could be the best thing ever, or one of the biggest flops ever. I'm willing to take that risk.'

Names that have been thrown around are : Amazing Red, Bryan Danielson, Rhett Titus, Sonjay Dutt, and Nigel McGuiness
