Day Phase Nine

It had been another long night, with two more of their own now dead. As soon as the dead were sorted, they turned to the admitted killer amongst them and made a snap decision to end him.

Of course, how do you end something like this one? Everyone kept a safe distance around the beast while shouting ideas back and forth. Growing tired of the situation, one brought a ball of fire from out of nowhere down on top of the beast.

Michgcs is dead. He was Anubis, Berserk Beast From Another World.

That's easy; I investigate two, get results about one -- but I don't know which. Destiny is a known town quantity. I targeted him and one other, and if I get a scum result...well, with no shenanigans, I've got a target for the next day's lynch.

Of course, saying that, I'm that much more vulnerable to shenanigans, now.

Really? After the last phase was rush lynched and hammered by scum to save their own ass we get the same thing again in this phase? If only some smart person had advised some kinda of caution, that maybe we should only put a couple of votes on and use the time in the phase to do something constructive instead of rushing to end the phase before anyone even got on....

I know there are other options and I'm not going to be around for much of the next couple of days as I've got fun things going on in life... but the safe removal of a kill after we've lost our role blockers and protectors should be the safest path towards a victory at this point. There's no evidence of a vote manipulator out there on any lynches, no sign of shenanigans. With 13 left to go, we lynch to 12, probably down to 11 overnight... unless we think there's a six person scum group left out there I think town has this sorted, so getting rid of michgcs's kill should ensure we win.

But we also need to make sure we use the phase and don't rush things through. We have an obvious target to go for after michgcs who can possibly be dealth with overnight. Then we just need to find however many people are left... scum seem to be pretty powerful, which may be to help balance out their numbers. I dread to think what state we'd be in if it weren't for some early good protections from crychon and mach, along with Destiny's double shouting... but it's all good. The path seems clear now and I think victory is in sight.

... oh! Someone did!

It's not a bad lynch... but we just lost a lot of time, to the point that we're talking about stuff in a night phase that could've easily been talked about during the day phase if we'd used it. After michgcs pulled the speed lynch get out of jail free card on himself the previous day, this one seems to have gone much more quickly than necessary too. And with some big townspeople on there. This makes me sad, the words to votes ratio was not impressive on this lynch.

And even worse again! Given the stuff that happened with gonvick early in the game and his results being skewed, I wonder if this was a bus driving or a redirection? A bus driver makes things complicated... a redirection makes things really dangerous for town because you essentially become an extra kill for scum if you go out, just like you must've been last night (the fire kill did worry me but I was gonna ask about that later in the day ). I'd put money on ShadowedFlames doing the killing for his group (and he just lost the game again ) which means bak ain't gonna be able to give us any new info when he kills...

Don't rush the next day phase, we need to communicate. We ALL need to communicate and we're getting worse at it.

In unrelated news, the Battlestar Galactica board game is fun to play, reminds me of mafia in many ways only with way more cards all over the place.

We're making progress. We're losing people quickly, but I think we just stopped one of the kills.

I think we need to get a lynch every day from here on out to win. I think Shining Armor should be a priority if it's a cult. If we kill the regular scum first, they might win as soon as they all go away.

Hell, for all I know, you're all scum anyway and I'm the only townie left...

No, no, no. Town never need to get to night phase as soon as possible, only scum do. Night phase will always come, it is up to us to make the most of the day whilst it is available. Never be too eager to get to night phase just so you can use your abilities. Discussion in the day phase is often the best weapon the town has.

End of rant. Good lynch, hope for one less kill tonight.

She danced as gracefully as she could manage, given who her partner for the night wound up being. It was all she could do to balance herself as the stage shook from the movement of her partner. If only others would've been around to witness this sight.

She'd managed to almost completely subdue the beast, and no one was around to see it happen. No one would ever her her tell this story, either. She caught a flash of white from the corner of her eye and turned to it's source, fear barely having time to cross her face before she fell to the floor.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure that if this appears again, it might be that Zeel was converted to Sonia during his time spent looking for whatever Derek's role was. That male name.

I mean, isn't it the don's death that skips the kill, not the hitman's? Where's Sonia's kill in the middle of this?
