Grading the quality of musicianship is so subjective and groups can be in or out of fashion at the drop of a hat. Don't get me wrong, would like to see it but I can see that turning it into a game (especially the database games greydog specialise in) could be a bit awkward.
There is a music sim out there that is actually a very good game. Problem is the songs that end up being the most popular are the ones you spend the most time practicing on. It really didnt have that random hit song factor included IMO. It was fun but I am not sure how accurately it actually reflected reality when producing a hit song.

I love TEW10 beyond words, but I want more. Look at the suggestions posts. In no way, shape or form is TEW as complete as it could be.

So, PLEAAAAAASE Adam...TEW13.

Do you think that will work?
Ya I don't think so. Adam's already working on the game for the last few months. If it's not TEW, it's not going to chance because of your pleas.

Once played a demo of a music sim, but it seemed a little too simple for my taste.

Maybe I missed it, when did Adam say he was working on a new game?

He said it on his twitter, which I don't think exists anymore.

This is all wrong. I'm a huge fan of TEW and if it took 5 years to come out i might just move on. People do move on, you realize that, right? They find other games (within the same genre or not, and focus their atentions on it). I used to play games i don't play anymore because sequels took to long to be released, or the ones released were not good enough to keep me there, while i could be playing better games. People move on, and assuming that "If you build it, they will come" is nonsense (no offense intended). And i would bet a lot of money that Adam doesn't do business like that. If he did, he would be out of business a long time ago. And since people talked about D3, here's a good example of a game i didn't bought. I mean, once century later they release a sequel? Who cares? Maybe many people, but not me. I've moved on to better things. And trust me, a lot of people act like this. It's the nature of being human. You snooze, you lose.

TEW 2010 ultimately felt like unfinished business to me. If and when Adam does put out the next TEW, I think its going to blow people away, especially if many of the ideas that have been suggested over the past few years are implemented by the man himself.

As much as I would like it to be a new TEW, this should only happen if Adam has sat down and figured out how to make NWA-style umbrella organizations work. That is the next major addition. If he hasn't quite figured that out yet (it's actually much, much more than a feature, it's an entire overhaul of the system) then he simply needs to move on to another project and come back to TEW later. Remi, even if it takes 5 years, if the next game (let's call it TEW 2015) has an NWA-style system, you (and everybody else) will be more than happy with it. Obviously, other things will be added to it (much simpler than this) but that is the absolute crown jewel of the next game.

Simply put, if he can't figure out where to begin on an NWA territory system, move on to WMMA. Try again at another time, because other than that, TEW is nearly perfect. Or, at least, perfect enough to make the wait worth it.
This is my thinking as well. TEW 2010 pretty much has every feature I want aside from running a conglomerate of territories/companies. WMMA 3 runs well, though I'd still like a larger default database of fighters. Unless it entails the aforementioned or has some radical change. I'm content with the copies of TEW and WMMA I have now.

Supposedly D3 holds the record for most copies of a PC game sold in one day.

The guy with the argument that no one cares if an old game comes back is completely wrong. If a game held onto millions(Diablo)/thousands(TEW) of players over 10 years, millions/thousands of people will buy the new versions.

TEW has replayability going for it, which is the best thing a game can have, IMO. I think Adam could throw in the smallest of features and people would still buy the game, because they know that they are going to play the game over and over.

As for what I would like to see in TEW... More random events which can drastically change the game, and more unique worker personalities/incidents. Basically, a world that feels more real.

Astil, that was my point. People SAY they are never going to buy long awaited sequels, and then get caught up in the hype, and are usually the first in line to say "I've been a fan longer than anyone, I'm hardcore!"

Problem is, although D3 and SC2 sold very well, they both were quite disappointing. (I'm not going to say "sucked", because I'm actually NOT bandwagon. But, I did find them disappointing in comparison to the games before them. It's like Godfather 3. 1 was great, 2 was bloody amazing, and 3.....not so much.)

They couldn't have been better than disappointing. A 5+ year interval creates so much expectations that they are rarely fulfilled.

I think WMMA should have a spin-off much like TEW/WresSpi. I was thinking about maybe an agent/gym manager sim in which you hire your fighters, send them to different camps and try to get them booked in fights, with the objective of getting them the best deals, fights and such. Dealing with losing streaks, fighter's ego, inccidents, personalities etc. should be interesting.

That guy is me. And just becose some comebacks happen, doesn't mean that every return of that kind succeeds. Look at Duke Nukem! Boy did that bomb!

I think his point is that with TEW, you have an exception because everyone knows the game is re-playable even before it would be released, because of the track record it has. A few (probably people that it wasn't THE game for them in the first place), might not want it... But the biggest fans for sure will... Just because we know it always goes above our expectations (so far). There would have to be a "flub" first/Not live up to expectations, before the biggest fans moved on.
