Not gonna lie, I'm a little sad to see the name "Rocky Mountain Wrestling" go away, along with that beautiful belt!

Congrats on The Rise, it’s a major accomplishment. I too will miss the name RMW but I guess progress can’t be held back for nostalgia,

With the rise up I kind of wish the Oxford was a 2 day deal. It brings back Crockett Cup memories being a 2 day event.

What area are you targeting next in the US growth and have you cut any new TV deals?

It was ok for Ox to be the “face” of a regional company, but not for a company to try and go national with. Smith is getting older though so he might be a transitional guy

I love the name Rocky Mountain Wrestling and while I am sad to see it go myself, I also couldn't justify 'Rocky Mountain Wrestling' making any sort of national expansion plan. I tried to keep the name old school with 'Continental Wrestling League' (I wanted so badly to just be the Continental Wrestling Association but couldn't bring myself to do it).

My plan is for next year's Oxford Invitational to be a 2 year deal like the Gold Rush. My idea is that the fifth installment of it is a good milestone to make it a two day event like the Crockett Cup. I love the two day events and I'm hoping that in 2020 there is a day to link events for the AI to know that the two events are linked.

As for TV deals, time will reveal! As for regions, I'm only barely cult because of Northwest and Mid South. I think the natural expansions are into the Midwest and the Southwest from there. TV Deals/exposure will all be covered in a narrative post Oxford Invitational.

There are equally beautiful belts coming! Have no fear. Christian_Shane (who designed the RMW belts) is doing brand new CWL belts for me while ReapeR, the Godfather himself, did a set of GWC belts for me -- so we will have brand new belts to continue our journey.

Cool you are getting those. I have kind of lost interest in doing my diary that I had started for the graphic reasons because of belts and a few of the things that I don't know how to do. Maybe someday, until then I will just enjoy the work that you and others do.

Denver, Co - Continental Wrestling League is proud to announce new partnerships with the Synergy Network, based out of Chicago, Illinois but with media coverage throughout the entire Great Lakes, Mid West, North West, and New England as well as the Southern States Network based out of Dallas with coverage in the Mid South, South East, and South West, United States to create a new weekly television show.

Saturday Night Slammasters will air starting Week 2 of May, 2021 from 11:00PM - 12:00AM every week. Marjorie Oxford, Director of Television Production for Continental Wrestling League said that "We are incredibly excited to be partnering with such great organizations to bring our brand of professional wrestling to markets that have not seen us before. We have produced over one hundred live events in our organization's history and are confident that we can consistently produce high quality weekly television programming."

The program will not air live, but will be taped on Friday Nights to allow for post-production needs.

Quote:
Thank you to King Bison for the graphic and show name. We were spitballing ideas for a weekly television show and he came up with this and I just had to roll with it because it feels like an old school television name.
With the television show, I will not -- at least at the beginning -- be posting the card in advance for predictions, but will rather be posting the show results and then posting the event cards (which will continue to be week 4 of every Saturday) for predictions. I'm hoping that this creates a little difference between the weekly TV and the monthly events -- as well as makes the TV show feel like weekly viewing where you're not quite sure what you're going to see, but have the announced card for the event. It is entirely possible, depending on feedback, that I will change this to post the weekly TV cards as well, but starting out I want to try it out without pre-posting the cards and seeing how that is received.

RDJ will be joining Michael Riggs and Duke Hazard at the commentary booth and will also be taking over as the head trainer for the Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling to allow Robert Oxford to focus on the running of the CWL as it expands nationally.

Quote:
In reality, both Greg and Matthew's contracts were up and the Stones were only offering them Pay Per Appearance contracts. I offered them written deals and they signed with me so narratively this is how I constructed it. That it was talent trade of sorts.

MR: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the very first edition of Saturday Night Slammasters! We have a big main event as Mighty Cavanagh and Sean McFly go one on one. KC Glenn will face American Buffalo and so much more!

RDJ: To the fans who are new to CWL, we present the best wrestling in the world. This is why I signed on with CWL -- for the action we are going to present tonight and each and every week after this.

DH: Y'all are in for a great night of wrestlin'. Sakura Sada makes her debut and the Fat Cats look to continue their new team. I can't wait!

RM: At the Oxford Invitational, Jeffery and I were robbed. Robbed by Matty Faith and Ranger. Robbed of what should have been ours. We should be Oxford Invitational champions. We should be GWC World Tag Team Champions. It should have been us!

JA: Riley is the most successful wrestler in Continental Wrestling League. Two times he's been Heavyweight Champion. He won the Gold Rush tournament. He won the Oxford Invitational before. He's twice been World Champion. He's the guy. Together, we're supposed to unstoppable. Together -- we will be unstoppable. Matty. Ranger. We're coming for you. It may not be today. It may not be tomorrow. But we are coming. Enjoy your time on top while it lasts, 'cause it won't be for long.

Starting next week, I will be issuing an open challenge to any man in this business who thinks he can take this title from me. I plan on being United States Champion for a long, long time."

KH: One week from tonight, Johnny and I are gonna take back what's ours. Two times we've been North American Tag Team Champions. Two times we've proven that we're the best tag team on the planet. We're gonna get back our belts. We're ridin' into town without 'em and we're gonna ride out with 'em.

JA: Kurt an Luis, it ain't nothin' personal, but you're standin' in our way. So we're gonna have to hurt you to prove a point. There's a lot of people who don't understand that we're the best. A man who thinks that he's man enough to dethrone me. But look at me. LOOK AT ME! I am four hundred sixty five pounds. I'm six feet five inches. I'm the bull of the woods 'round here. This is my mountain. Alexander ain't man enough to beat me. He's what? Two hundred pounds. He's not even half my size. What's he going to do when the bell rings and he's staring at the bull of the woods? What's he going to do when he's in my sights? He's gonna piss himself -- that's what he's going to do. He's going to piss himself in fear of what I'm going to do to him. So get some sleep, Alex. Spend this week getting yourself ready. 'Cause I'm going to break you."

I stared at the computer screen in disbelief. It was Sunday. One day after our second episode of Slammasters had aired. We had gotten pretty good ratings. I was taking the weekly TV on the road to markets we had not appeared live in. We weren't drawing great crowds, yet, but we were doing good business. The Synergy Network and Southern States TV had agreed to air our Live Events on Saturday Nights, just before our Saturday Night Slammasters. We had been in business with the Rocky Mountain Sports Network for a long time, but it was time to let that partnership go for bigger and better things...

But I still stared at the computer screen. Dick the Devastator had passed away in his sleep. He was seventy-six years old, but just below the announcement of the legendary wrestler's passing was the announcement of the passing of Ernie Turner. I did not know Ernie Turner well, but he had been employed by the Texas Grappling League as a broadcaster for their DVDs. He was getting along well with the boys in the locker room and now he had passed away.

I rubbed the corners of my eyes and popped my neck. I would have to call Joel. I'm sure Joel would have talked to the boys, but I needed to as well. I needed to give them some words of encouragement. They would be down, for obvious reasons. I exhaled slowly and picked up the phone. This wa not going to be fun.

Author's Note: I wanted to post a couple of TV shows before posting the card so you all could get a feel for how the weekly TVs will bleed into the monthly show. The last weekly TV of each month will get posted after the monthly show (as it airs after) and be part of the build for the next month's show. I hope you're enjoying the TV aspect. If you noticed, I tried to write out the general idea of the promos for television. I'm experimenting with a couple ideas on some show reports for this show to further evolve the approach/presentation.
