In a dark match, Colt Cabana won a fifteen man battle royale, eliminating Roderick Strong for the win.

In his stiffest challenge to date, Nigel McGuinness held the powerful fighter at bay, baffling him with spectacular technical moves until he was ultimately dropped by a devastating kick to the head and referee Brian Hebner stopped the match after McGuinness was rendered unconscious in the Anaconda Choke at the 8:43 mark. Chris Hero and Jimmy Rave charge down the runway, ambushing the Bombers before the bell has even rung. A wild brawl ensures spilling out into the crowd and all over the arena. Referee Rudy Charles, recognizing the bad blood between the two teams, allows them leeway rather than counting them out or calling for a disqualification. The end comes at the 13:56 mark when Daizee Haze sweeps out Chris Hero's legs as he tries to suplex Chad Toland back into the ring and he falls on Hero for the pin as Daizee holds down his legs. The Bombers slither out of the ring and the trio makes its way to the back, having stolen the win.(C+)

Four quick vignettes are shown with the participants of the Four Aces Fatal Fourway. Highlights include:

The Patriot: "The Red, White and Blue superstar is going all the way tonight, taking the first step on my path to winning the World title. As for my three opponents, well, they're just going to be black and blue."

Doug Williams: "Anarchy is going to reign tonight in Texas as the pride of the motherland, Doug Williams is going to vanquish my foes and emerge triumphant. Just remember boys, good guys win, bad guys lose, and as always, England prevails!"

Satoshi Kojima: The Great Koji delivers a passionate promo. Unfortunately I don't speak Japanese so he could have been talking about Hello Kitty for all I know. It sounded good though.

Daniel Puder: "Once again Daniel Puder finds himself at the brink, the brink of getting another shot at the title that is his destiny to wear. You are looking at the man who was too violent for MMA, too dangerous for the WWE and too damn good to not win this match tonight!" (C+)

In the Four Aces Fatal Fourway, Satoshi Kojima emerged victorious at the 17:32 mark after pinning the Patriot following the Koji Cutter. The ending came when the Patriot blasted Doug Williams with the Patriot Missile but got distracted by Don Callis enabling Puder to take him down with the Keylock. Before he could tap out, Kojima broke up the hold, tossed Puder out of the ring and crushes the Patriot for the pin. Puder looks beyond ticked off and storms the back. Kojima and Doug Williams shake hands after the match and then help the Patriot to his feet. Kojima offers his hand to the Patriot who refuses and storms out of the ring. Jim Cornette points out how frustrated hie must be having been so close to getting his first shot at the World title only to fall short. (B-)
Quote:
The camera cuts to the back where Becky Bayless is with the Monsters of Mat. "Matt Weise, Matt Bloom, this title shot has been a long time coming for you, hasn't it?" Matt Bloom, clearly annoyed by the question yanks the mic over to himself, "Well duh, that's pretty obvious don't you think?" Weise interjects. "Easy does it there big guy. You know Miss Bayless, this match should have happened a long time ago but like I have said to you many a time, the NWA doesn't want a man such as myself who has been in prison to represent them as a champion. They don't want a man like the Derailer who has expressed himself through tattoos and piercings that scare corporate America representing them as champion. Unfortunately for them, they've reached a point of no return. Tonight we will utterly dismantle the so-called Best in the World and claim those belts for our own with all the fame and money that comes along with it. Jay, Mark...you've had a long run with those titles but very soon, it will be over and they will be ours. Let's go Bloom." (B+)

In a shocking turn of events, the Monsters of the Mat dominate the Briscoes, battering them from pillar to post. The only thing that keeps them from claiming the gold is Matt Bloom tossing referee Brian Hebner out of the way as he is pounding on Jay Briscoe in the corner and won't stop at the 18:00 mark. After the bell, Weise glares at the Derailer, telling him to "use your f*cking head!" The Monsters of the Mat then proceed to deliver a nasty post-match beating. Scott Hudson notes that "this isn't over, not by a longshot!" (B)
Quote:
The camera catches Tito Ortiz in the locker room shadow boxing. He stops and stares at the camera. "Tonight, the Huntington Beach Bad Boy makes yet another defense of his North American title. Masato Tanaka, you're just going to be the next contender to fall by the wayside. Just remember, you fight Tito Ortiz and...." The crowd finishes for him. "YOU LOSE!" (B+)
Quote:

Tito Ortiz defeats Masato Tanaka by referee stoppage at the 11:42 mark. The end came when Jack Victory hopped up on ring apron to distract Ortiz. Ortiz avoids a Roaring Elbow which accidentally blasts Victory. Ortiz then clamps on a triangle choke that causes referee Rudy Charles to call for the bell after Tanaka passes out. (B+)

A video plays showing footage in black and white of a wrestling arena filled with rabid fans chanting something not unlike a traditional soccer (or football for my British readers, hehe) chant. The silhouette of a male figure steps through the curtain and the crowd goes ballistic. It can't be made out who it is but a bright almost metallic glare shines off him. In bright gold lettering, a message appears."Tonight, it all begins."

Jim Cornette gets up and makes a special announcment. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I will make this short and sweet. Next month at NWA SHOWDOWN 8, we will all witness the debut of Mexican superstar......Miiiiiiiiistico!" A second video airs featuring highlights of Mistico. (B-)

The camera catches Stan Hansen in his locker room. "Tonight, I climb back into the ring after a long time being retired. Everybody knows I'm long past my prime. Everybody knows that you Steve Corino are one of the best wrestlers in the world. Everybody knows that my damn pride is what got me into this match. Smart money says that I'm in over my head, that my mouth is writing a check that my body can't cash. They're probably right. There is one thing though, I don't care. I am the toughest hombre to come into your life in a long time Corino. I will take three shots to dish out one good one!" Tobacco juice is spraying all over by this point. "Like my friend Toby Keith said 'I ain't as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was!' Bad news for you pal, that once is tonight. Prepare to get your ass handed to you boy!" (A)

The camera catches up with Steve Corino in the Xtreme Horsemen locker room. "You know, its not often that you get to kick the crap out of senior citizen. The King of Old School taking on the King of Old Age. I'm going to enjoy beating your ass tonight Hansen. Just remember, I'm not responsible for happens to you. Don't blame me if I send you back to the nursing home in a wheelchair. You asked for this old man! Then once I am done with you, I can get back to the business at hand, getting my title back. Danielson, Masked idiot, I don't care who wins, but I'm coming for you!" (A)

Everyone that was hoping for a miracle have their hopes dashed early on as Steve Corino brutalizes the Lariat, busting him wide open with a series of knuckle punches. The King of Old School enjoys dishing out the beating to his older rival, intent on both punishing and humiliating him. As Corino goes to finish off Stan Hansen, the Badman from Borger unexpectedly levels the King of Old School with a devastating Lariat and scores the shocking one two three at the 14:32 mark! (A*)

Lauren Jones is in the ring with a microphone in her hand. Mr. Wrestling III and Bryan Danielson have both made their entrances and are awaiting the official announcements.

"Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for our MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING! This match is scheduled for one fall with a one hour time limit and is for the National Wrestling Alliance Undisputed Heavyweight Championship of the World! "

"When the bell rings, the man in charge will be NWA Senior Official, Mister Rudy Charles."

Rudy Charles calls both men into the center of the ring and Lauren Jones holds the microphone for him during final instructions.

"Okay men, I want a good, clean fight. On my sign, you will go back to you corner and when the bell rings come out fighting. Are there any questions?"

Both men shake their heads no. They shake hands in a sign of respect and return to their corners.

"Its time then. Good luck to you both."

They tie up and back into a corner where III suddenly snaps on a hanging armbar. III dominates early with a headscissors and a stiff chop up against the ropes. They start throwing stiff kicks at one another. A flying clothesline gets two for Danielson and he works in the spot made famous by KENTA where he slingshots back in and then mockingly gives III a little love tap in the head. III retaliates with an enziguri to take him over. After applying a chinlock, III locks in a bodyscissor as well. Danielson makes the ropes and comes back with a sunset flip, but III counters into a roll through and a Mexican standoff.

The match rolls on with neither man able to gain any substantial advantage. Instead the crowd is treated to a technical masterpiece. Moves are turned into counters which are then countered themselves. The match is everything that is good about the NWA and professional wrestling. As the match passes the twenty minute mark both men remain calm and collected despite the obvious frustration of both men in seeing most of their best moves thwarted.

As Mr. Wrestling III tries to step up the pace, he makes a fatal mistake, missing with the running kneelift which Danielson counter into a rolling neckbreaker and then pounces on the masked man, clamping on the Cattle Mutilation! Mr. Wrestling III is in agony, apparent even through his mask. He battles his way towards the ropes finally getting there. Danielson doesn't break the hold however instead crushing his foe with a bone-rattling super backdrop. He goes for the cover but only gets a long two count. He tries for the Cattle Mutilation again but stunningly gets tied up in the La Magistral cradle, narrowing escaping at two. The American Dragon stiffly kicks III in the head and then tosses him into the ropes for a lariat. The only problem with that plan was that II had scouted that out, ducked under it and stunned the champ with his running kneelift on the way back. The crowd is going crazy as Mr. Wrestling III tries to lock his Cloverleaf. Danielson fights him but the masked marvel manages to finally cinch it in the center of the ring. Danielson tries to crawl to the ropes but is pulled back by III. The champ is howling in pain, his hand up in the air about to tap out before his knee is shattered. As he is about to tap, out of nowhere comes the Patriot who superkicks Mr. Wrestling III right in the head, breaking the hold. The Patriot then tosses Bryan Danielson out of the ring before resuming his onslaught on Mr. Wrestling III. He mercilessly pounds on his supposed friend until he is practically motionless. The Patriot lets out a bellow and then begins to untie Mr. Wrestling III's mask. III tries to fight him but he is spent and the Patriot yanks the mask off to reveal............................................ ........................

Another mask! The Patriot is stunned by the development and the now-recovered Bryan Danielson manages to pull Mr. Wresting III out of the ring, away from the grasp of the madman. The match is declared a no contest. The Patriot holds the mask up in the air, like some sort of twisted trophy as he yells at Mr. Wrestling III telling him that his time has come as SHOWDOWN 7 goes off the air. (Match B+, Angle B)

END OF SHOW

Can't wait for The Patriot and Mr Wrestling III to show down... I've got my theory as to the identity of Mr Wrestling, but I'm not saying a thing...
