Default iStock Racing

iStock Racing (http://tiny.cc/istockracing) is a game I launched earlier in the year and we're about to finish our second season of races. It is built off a tabletop game called Red White and Blue Racin', which simulates NASCAR and other stock car races. I have adapted the rules and turned it into a multiplayer game and it seems to be going well!

The interest in the game was so high that the main series filled and we had to start a developmental series, and it'd be good to flesh that out even further. A promotion and demotion system exists between the two series, and owners of teams can hire and fire as necessary to create their best chances of winning.

In iStock Racing, each player can create drivers, or a team of drivers, and they compete every weekend in a text-based race.

We offer three pathways to play, with full explanation here: https://sites.google.com/view/istock...w-does-it-work

Path 1 - Watcher - for those that just want to create a racer or team then not be bothered. Very much a "fire and forget" system for those that may not have much time but would still like to throw someone into the universe then check back in another time. You won't even receive emails when playing on this pathway.

Path 2 - Player - drivers that do well in a race will have a choice to make for the next race - changing setup, doing specific training etc. They will get the choice emailed to them midweek. There will also be reminder emails when a race is completed, but again this does not require a huge amount of input from the owner. Not every driver gets a choice every week, so you won't be bothered often.

Path 3 - Full Control - drivers have a specific set of attributes which are then shared out across the season. This lets a heavily involved owner choose which races to commit fully to, as each race is different and suits a different driver's strengths. If an owner doesn't set instructions for a race, then the driver's default stats are used instead.

There is a solid, yet not perfect, help section available on the website but I'm also happy to answer any questions here or on my Discord which can be found here. https://discord.gg/VT5FR6K

The game is totally free and always will be.

If you're interested and would like a team added for races 9 and 10 of this 2018 season, head to https://sites.google.com/view/istock...hip/contact-us.

Thanks folks!

In just under an hour, we'll go live with the Texas 500, the final race of the 2019 season in the iStock Racing Championship. Can independent racer Boothby Grafoe complete the Cinderella story by taking the championship, or will Corey Creek and Airen Slipper be spoilers? The Lusitanian Blues look to have the Constructor Championship all sewn up, but what do Wagner-Wartburg Racing have up their sleeves to knock them off the top spot?

In the developmental series, it looks like DelBoy Trotter has Ragnar Slipper's number, but with 500 miles ahead of us, anything can happen. The constructor's championship is clearly at least a four way race, with the Trotters, Cardiff City Racers, Solid State Drive and Magnum Racing all well in contention.

We'll be livestreaming it at http://twitch.tv/itsmethewonk and making sure to record it this time, so it'll be on Youtube too once we're finished.

New racers are always welcome, especially if you want in on the ground floor for the 2020 season which will start in 3 weeks time.

We just progressed to our new season, so if anyone out there is interested, now is a great time to get involved.
