Default The Takeover:Japan (Ultra Pro Wrestling, CVerse77)

He was a pariah around these parts .

He understood why, he tried to keep himself looking young, but there was no doubts about the bits of grey stubble that appeared on his chin every other night. He was getting old, and married life had softened him, no... wizened him to the misdeeds of his previous life.

There was a strong feeling of resentment in Akira, a world class athlete, big, powerful and technical, and yet his pro wrestling career had been nothing more than an afterthought. Even worse, he felt like he had missed his window, now a shell of himself athletically due to age and abuse of the body. He never dabbled with anything too heavy, but years of alcohol abuse and other "soft" drugs took it's toll.

Even worse, Akira had been so hard to work with in the past he has alienated himself from the major wrestling promotions in Japan, he COULD go to a young upstart like QUEST or an even bigger longshot like TC3, but he wasn't interested in being a small cog in a wheel for accompany that would never get off the ground.

Akira had made money in his lifetime, he had to maintain his party lifestyle somehow, he was popular and charismatic and tended to drive his price up more than perhaps he was even worth, he had a gift of gab and could sell himself better than most.

But still, he felt empty and unfulfilled, he was rich, married and could settle down with a family and live a comfortable life, but the competiveness that drove him to the near tops of the Judo world still stuck with Akira, he was a very good judoka, one of the top judokas in Japan, and even competed internationally as a Japanese representative, but even then, Akira came up short, never truly becoming the best.

He thought to himself how he was sober for almost 3 years now, no drinking to get drunk and even then it was every once in a while, no drugs, no pills. Japan was wide open to be taken... the World was wide open to be taken. He sees all of the talent out there floundering, all of the youngsters that scream star, all of the outcasts frustrated by the big two and looking for a home.

It was time for Akira to finally realize his potential, it was time for Akira to be THE MAN, not as a performer, but as THE MAN behind the curtain. The man with real power, the sole owner and proprietor of the greatest professional wrestling company in the world.

ULTRA Pro Wrestling

Owner: Akira Gold
Head Booker: Akira Gold
Starting Size: Cult
Ranking: 5th
Location: Kanto (Japan)
Product: PuroEntertainment (Perf > Pop, Mainstream, Traditional, Pure, Cult)

Roster AS OF January 1977

Men

Paul Kingsley (40 years old, 22 year pro)
English(White)
Heavyweight
Brawler
Bad Ass
Heavyweight Division

Quote:
Gold's Thoughts: Kingsley is one of the most popular and storied veterans on the roster, having worked for BHOWTG for years. He is tough, big and charismatic and fluent in Japanese from over 2 decades performing here. As a Heavyweight, he is the type of all around talent that can Main Event this company, although he isn't always consistent and struggles in long singles matches without adequate protection.

Cheatin' Mike Barstow (30 years old, 12 years pro)
American(White)
Muscular Middleweight
Technician
Troublemaker
Heavyweight Division

Quote:
Gold's Thoughts: Another Big 2 Gaijin Veteran, Mike Barstow has both excellent technical skills in the ring but charisma as well. He's not a guy you want on the microphone but he can connect with the audience. Doesn't have a great look but makes up for it with skill and athleticism. Only 30 and has time to take his game to the next level.

SORA (28 Years Old, 6 Year Pro)
Japanese (Asian)
Light Heavyweight
Puroresu Style
Shaolin Monk
Heavyweight Division

Quote:
Gold's Thoughts: I remember Sora from the GCG days, he really started to hit his stride when leaving the company, but I remembered how talented he was for his age and was able to convince him to return to the industry after taking a little refuge to Mount Koya, his heart has always been in the business, he just needs faith that he will get the opportunities to be a major player somewhere. He's one of the best athletes for his size I've seen, including the elite judoka I remember from the day.

Akira Gold (46 Years Old, 12 Year Pro)
Japanese (Asian)
Heavyweight
Puroresu Style
MMA Bad Ass
Heavyweight Division

Quote:
Gold's Thoughts: I may not be the wrestler I used to be, every time I wrestle I feel it, I feel my age, I know I cant carry this company myself, but I know this, I'm the most popular marketable guy in ULTRA for now, and It's my duty go get everyone else to my level so we can start making money. I have no problems going out on my back, I've already been humbled by the industry, humbled by life, now all there is to do is take out the Big 2 and prove to everyone who the biggest deal in wrestling is after all.
