I am not going to rush Arlie. I know he's working on it as fast as he can.
Obviously he wants it to be out as soon as possible so he can make money
but I am sure he also doesn't want to rush out a bug ridden game either just
to makes us all happy. I am sure it will be more than worth the wait since
TPF was a kick butt game and his College BowlBound game was also very good..
Looking forward to it when it comes out.

didn't know this was in the works, just found it during a google search.

my best advice... look at a 90s game called total control football - it has a lot of examples of what to do and not do.

I got this game when I was a kid and on paper it was way ahead of it's time. A lot of the features were only recently incorporated into the last few editions of madden and it's GM/career mode or whatever it's called now. It also has the smoothest interface of any sim game from it's time (and had graphics as well -could watch the games, don't recall if you could play them. was designed as a sim game so the graphics were ub par, but better than nothing) that I'm aware of and beter than most now and makes good use of sound which is rare in text game (i.e. you can actually speak to coaches and I think maybe even players, granted the options for conversation are limited). I greatly prefer the interface to that of BBCF.

Also like the presentation of player profiles as I thought the presentation was unique and much more friendly on the eyes than looking at a spreadsheet (and this coming from a spreadsheet guy). I'd even consider looking at it for the next TEW as a possible alternate display format.

What they did wrong... well or starters they didn't finish a lot of the features, I remember finding many bugs with the game where things either didn't work at all, or worked, but not in the way they were supposed to. furthermore the tech support stunk and I think they relased one patch (which only fixed a small portion of what was wrong) and then never addressed anything else. This is the reason the game died after one edition. So make sure you don't go over your head advertising things that aren't going to work in the final product.

I've been looking for a goot pro footbal l sim again and if there's a place for me I'd like to help test and maybe even come up with trial interfaces and play any role I can in helping develop (only code I ever knew was turbo so I probably won't be much help there, although I could probably learn basic stuff quickly). If there's a spot for me PM me and we'll talk, if not, I totally understand.

Just wondering if the game is still on? There has been no update from Arlie on this for months. Anybody in the know willing to shed some light on this?

Seems Arlie doesn't think we're worth keeping updated at all.

Is there any news on this? I see this as a great opportunity. The College Game is very good, and if there was a Pro Football version that would allow use of the college players in the college game. that would be a great two games.

Of your four total posts, two include the word vaporware, while all four deal with the game not coming out and/or this place sucking. I'm curious, why do you come here every three months to offer your two cents instead of just doing something else? I could see it if you were a 'regular' user of these forums, but since you're not, why do you bother? Is it to come off as a prick? Mission accomplished.

Well since you asked.....I did not know you were on the Grey Dog payroll. Instead of attacking me, perhaps you should direct your energy or venom to the developers ...where are the updates? What is the status of this game? The development of this game was announced in early 2006...four years ago. Since then, there has been a dearth of updates.

Also I never have said this place "sucked" those are your words. What I have said in the past is that it is unacceptable that customers have been led on. I may not post much but I am a customer. I've purchased Bowl Bound and the original TPF game released by the defunct .400 studios company. Why announce a game that is not going to be released???? Four years and no tangible updates, screenshots, specs whatsoever.

Additionally to infer that for in order for me to have an opinion whether it be positive or negative I have to be a "regular" of these forums is poor customer marketing. Instead of attacking potential customers why not figure out what Grey Dog can do better to elicit better customer response. Calling me a "prick" does not achieve a positive objective whatsoever. I would have to assume that you must be very limited in your coping skills. Can you rebut my "poof....vaporware" remark? Is it acceptable the lack of updates for 4 years by Mr. Rahn?

Neither one of us are privy to the inner workings of this company (me possibly a bit more than you). You do it no service by coming here just to post 'vaporware'. Why not just not come here OR not post that crap?

And thank you, I cope just fine until it comes to dealing with people such as you who want nothing more than to cause trouble at some else's expense.

Causing trouble? How so? By stating the obvious?? That this game was announced back in 2006 and here we are in 2010 four years later with no tangible updates, screenshots, specs, etc.

You keep taking the "blue pill" my friend (Matrix reference) while I take the red. It is what it is, and if you wish to continue to exist in your fantasy realm go right ahead. I live in reality. Reality is, is that this game is vaporware. I do wish that was not the case.

And why should my opinion bother you anyway fanboy?

I think we all can count and realize the dates involved, but thank you for providing that vital information to us.

And your opinion irks me b/c you only give it here to call attention to yourself. No one needs you to come and state this opinion. Seriously, what does it add to this forum? That's right, nothing. Its of no help at all and I'm left to wonder why you even come here to post it. Really, its a waste of your time. Most people just read it and think what I've said out loud.

Now I'm going to save the users of this forum any further post at this time on the subject from me. Do them a favor and follow suit. If you want to say anything further to me, PM me. You know where to find me.

I have a few messages into Arlie to see about working up some kind of collaborative effort between GDS and my team over at BarcodeGames.com

At BarcodeGames.com we already have a pro football sim that is coming along nicely. I would love to get Arlie's help and input to further improve PFS, and then let Arlie focus on a new version of BBCF.

I know he was busy over the holidays and hopefully things are settling down and we can get some updates soon.
