POWER HOUR! (B-Show)
Friday Week 2 January 1991 (Taped Wednesday)
Location: Memorial Auditorium (Mid Atlantic)
Attendance: 3,042
Overall Rating: B-
TV Rating: .12

Quote:
-To begin the show, we start with Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously by the announce booth. They discuss last week's World Championship Wrestling show and particularly the main event where Ric Flair won the NWA World Heavyweight title from Sting. Paul E. Dangerously cries foul on Sting as he announces that Flair suffered a fractured foot toward the end of the match. He won't be able to wrestle again until the Clash of the Champions. Ross lets us know that, at the end of the show, we will see a condensed version of the match and fans can decide for themselves what happened. Ross adds that the main event of Power Hour is going to be Brian Pillman taking on Michael Wallstreet. Then, he sends us to our opening match.

-In an extremely short match, Larry Zbyszko(B-) defeated Keith Hart(E) in 3:48 by pinfall with a Piledriver...C-

-It's time for the Wrestling News Network with Gordon Solie! Solie discusses what happened last week when Missy Hyatt slapped Paul E. Dangerously. He brings up their feud before sending us to an interview with Hyatt. Missy Hyatt complains about the mysoginistic attitude of Dangerously before she challenges him to a match at Clash of the Champions. But, not just any match, an arm-wrestling match! She promises that she will prove that women are not the weaker sex.

-In an extremely short match, The Southern Boys(Smothers-D+, Armstrong-D) defeated The Royal Family(Morgan-D-, Victory-E+) in 4:30 when Tracy Smothers defeated Jack Victory by pinfall with a Doomsday Dropkick...D+

-From there, we go to a pre-taped interview with Terry Taylor. Taylor talks about how excited that he is about getting a NWA World title shot at the Clash of the Champions. He says that he has earned this title shot and there is nothing that is going to stand in his way when he walks that aisle against Ric Flair. He says he is sorry that Flair was hurt last week but that's not going to stop him from taking the title from him. Not even the rest of the Four Horsemen are going to stop him. Taylor says that at Clash of the Champions he is going to be a Taylor Made Man.

-In an extremely short match, Owen Hart(D+) defeated Dutch Mantell(D) in 4:10 by pinfall with a Missile Dropkick...D+

-From the ring, we move to a pre-recorded interview with Alexandra York and Michael Wallstreet. York reminds everyone that this is going to be the year of the York Foundation. She says that she has been inputting all of the information about Brian Pillman into the computer. She says that the computer says that Wallstreet will beat Pillman in less than eleven minutes and twenty seconds. She says that technology beats everyone and Michael Wallstreet will prove that tonight.

-In a decent match, Brian Pillman(C+) defeated Michael Wallstreet(C-) in 10:01 when Michael Wallstreet intentionally got disqualified...B-

-The focus returns to the announce booth and Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously. JR thanks everyone for watching the show tonight and tells everyone to tune in tomorrow for World Championship Wrestling live from the Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Dangerously adds that tomorrow night he will have an answer for Missy Hyatt and the arm-wrestling challenge that she laid out for him earlier tonight. JR thanks everyone again and then sends us to the main event from World Championship Wrestling last week.

-A replay begins showcasing the main event from World Championship Wrestling. The match is between Sting and Ric Flair. The replay is a condensed version of the match that starts into the match. Highlights from the match include Sting reversing a figure 4 into a small package and Flair finally locking on the Figure 4 and using the ropes for leverage until he gets caught by the referee. Then the finish is shown where Sting begins a comeback, sending Flair flipping over the turnbuckles. Flair lands hard on the apron and then falls to ringside, grabbing his foot in pain. This leads to interference by Arn Anderson and Sid Vicious. After Vicious Power Bombs Sting, Flair gets rolled back in by Anderson and makes the cover, using the ropes for leverage and scoring the pinfall. The show ends with Ric Flair holding up the NWA World Heavyweight title belt.

World Championship Wrestling

Quote:
-Last week's live World Championship Wrestling was a huge success but it had some huge failures, as well, including Ric Flair leaving The Omni injured. This week anything can happen here on World Championship Wrestling. In our main event, we are going to see a big six man tag team match as The IV Horsemen, including Arn Anderson, Barry Windham and Sid Vicious, take on the team of Terry Taylor and The Steiner Brothers! Taylor defeated Windham last week in a huge upset and was granted a NWA World Heavyweight title shot against Ric Flair at the Clash of the Champions. Taylor is riding a high wave. Can he keep the momentum going?

-We have, also, learned that we will be having a State Of The Freebirds speech by Michael Hayes. Hayes has been trying to tell everyone that things are good within the Freebirds. However, with this speech, we will learn the truth about where the Freebirds are at this point in time. What will the leader of the Freebirds, Michael Hayes, have to say to the fans of Badstreet USA when we come from the Lawrence Joel Coliseum?

-Paul E. Dangerously is going to be a busy man this evening. Not only will he be on commentary, he has also said that he will be giving us the answer to Missy Hyatt's challenge that she laid out on the Power Hour. Will he face her in a battle of the sexes arm-wrestling challenge? Not only will he be giving that answer but he will also be running an episode of The Danger Zone. His special guests will be none other than Teddy Long and Doom. What will the NWA World Tag Team Champions have to say? Who is next to face them?

-Also, we will be having the anticipated NWA Television title match as Z-Man defends the title against the man who beat him at Starrcade 1990: Bobby Eaton. The man from Huntsville, Alabama has been on his own since after Halloween Havoc when Stan Lane and Jim Cornette left the company. With this being the Television title, there will be a 10 minute time limit on the match. Can Z-Man withstand the man who beat him at Starrcade 1990 or will Beautiful Bobby add the NWA Television title to his 1991 resume?

-Plus Slaughterhouse takes on The Lightning Express, Sting and Lex Luger are in the building and Harley Race is in singles action on a rare match appearance on World Championship Wrestling. Plus we learn more about the upcoming Clash of the Champions card on TBS. Make sure you tune in to World Championship Wrestling!

Hey AMarc9-8! Thanks for the predictions and comments! I am glad that you are enjoying the Vader/JYD feud. I thought it was a little bit of a risk starting my first World Championship Wrestling with JYD and then Big Van Vader. But I wanted to push that anything can happen thing like when Monday Nitro was live. I hope that has come true.

I can definitely understand that it's strange seeing Harley Race back in the ring. He was available as an occasional wrestler so I thought, why not? Why not give him one final run before he transitions into being a manager, right? Will that final run include the United States title? Make sure you keep tuning in to find out.

Hey horseman4lyfe! Thanks for the predictions and comments! I am glad that the Slaughterhouse stable has gone over. Sullivan created a stable briefly in WCW called Slaughterhouse so I thought I'd bring it in a little early, especially since I had some oddball guys. There will be at least one more person added to that stable soon. Who will it be? Make sure you keep tuned in.

As I stated in an earlier comment, I can understand people seeing it as strange having Harley Race in a wrestling capacity. But he can definitely teach others with whom he is in the ring. I am also giving him one more last run here in this company before he retires from wrestling. Will that last run include the United States title? Only time will tell. Keep tuning in!

Doom and Larry
JYD
Slaughterhouse - The brand new team defeat White Meat Babyface Express
Time Limit - Zenk and Eaton take it to the Clash.
Sting and Luger
Harley Race - Hey, I'm glad to see you giving Harley a last hurrah. I don't expect to see him picking up any titles, but he has plenty of skills to pass down to some others.
Steiners and Taylor - Terry picks up a terrific win to really put him over going into the title match.

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!
Saturday Week 2 January 1991
Location: Lawrence Joel Coliseum (Mid Atlantic)
Attendance: 14,407
Overall Rating: B
TV Rating: 2.46

Quote:

[The live show begins not inside the arena but in the parking lot where three members of The Horsemen are fighting with Terry Taylor and The Steiner Brothers! One on side, Scott Steiner grabs Arn Anderson around the waist and throws him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex where Anderson lands on top of a car's hood. Sid Vicious strikes Taylor with a big boot, knocking him down to the floor. Vicious goes for a clothesline on Rick Steiner but Rick ducks and catches Vicious with a Steinerline, sending Vicious back against another car. Barry Windham moves in behind Scott Steiner but takes a back elbow from the member of The Steiner Brothers. Scott turns around and tries to strike Windham with a Steinerline but Windham ducks and then grabs Scott in the Clawhold! Here comes Doug Dillinger and other members of the security team to break things up. But they won't be breaking things up later on tonight when these six men battle it out in six man tag team action. Let's head to Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously!]
Quote:

[We go to the announce booth and a focus on announcers Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously. JR welcomes everyone to the show and promises that tonight there is going to be a slobberknocker when we see that six man tag team match. He reminds us all that there's going to be a Clash of the Champions at the end of the month live on TBS and free to watch for all the fans here of Turner Sports. Paul E. Dangerously announces that he has been given word by the higher ups that they are going to call the promotion World Championship Wrestling and that the new name of this show is WCW Saturday Night! So, on WCW Saturday Night, we are going to see Sting and Lex Luger in action. Plus, Dangerously promises us that he will give an answer to Missy Hyatt's challenge from the Power Hour for an arm-wrestling match at the Clash. JR says he cannot wait for Dangerously's answer but he sends us to six man tag team action to kick things off here on WCW Saturday Night.]

[It's time for another edition of the Wrestling News Network hosted by Gordon Solie. Solie welcomes everyone and says that last week's live edition of World Championship Wrestling Saturday Night was a huge success. He turns the attention to the beginning of last week's show where Big Van Vader assaulted Junkyard Dog. We are shown a replay of the attack before Solie sends us to a promo by Big Van Vader. Vader looks in the camera and says that last week was just the beginning of his reign of terror here in World Championship Wrestling. He tells everyone that he fears no man and he feels no pain. He tells Junkyard Dog that if he wants some more of Big Van Vader that he isn't hard to find. He says that he will be there at the Clash of the Champions to prove that no man can beat Vader. He warns JYD that if the Dog shows up at the Clash he will finish the job he started last week because it will be Vader Time! Big Van Vader flexes and the camera slowly cuts to black.]
STATE OF THE FREEBIRDS TONIGHT!

Match #2
Quote:

10 Minute Time Limit
Ned Brady vs. Junkyard Dog

[In an extremely short match, Junkyard Dog(D+) defeated Ned Brady(E+) in 4:04 by pinfall with a Powerslam.]

Winner: Junkyard Dog (Via Pinfall @ 4:04)
Match Rating: C-
Quote:

[Following that match, we are taken to the staging area where Eric Bischoff is standing by. Bischoff says that he hopes everyone is enjoying WCW Saturday Night live on the Superstation TBS and reminds everyone that the show will be live each and every week, something that other wrestling promotions cannot and will not do because they are the best promotion in the world. Then, he brings out his guest at this time and it is the man called Sting. Sting high fives a few fans on his way to the staging area and then stands beside Bischoff as Bischoff recaps Sting's loss last week to Ric Flair. A video is shown of what happened at the end of the match before the focus turns to Bischoff and Sting. Bischoff asks Sting what is next now that he lost the NWA World Heavyweight title. Sting says that he's not down about losing the title. Instead, he is determined to win back the title when he cashes in his rematch clause against Ric Flair. Bischoff announces that, due to injury, Ric Flair will not be able to wrestle until the Clash of the Champions where he will face Terry Taylor. Sting says that no matter who wins that match, they are going to have to face the Stinger.]

[Sting's promo is interrupted by Larry Zbyszko walking onto the set. The Living Legend says he is sick and tired of hearing about Sting and about Sting hanging around the World title picture. He says it's time for someone else to step up and fight for the title and that man is an absolute Living Legend. Sting asks Zbyszko to fight him right here and now but Zbyszko backtracks a little, saying that he will fight Sting but on his own terms. He challenges Sting to a match at the Clash with Sting's rematch on the line. Sting, confident in his own abilities, agrees to the challenge and a big smile draws across the lips of Zbyszko so that he looks like the cheshire cat. Sting steps up in Zbyszko's face but Doug Dillinger is there to ensure that things don't get physical and Eric Bischoff sends us to the ring for our next match.]
Match #3

10 Minute Time Limit
Slaughterhouse (Big Cat and Moondog Rex) vs. The Lightning Express

[ In an extremely short match, Moondog Rex(D) and Big Cat(D) defeated The Lightning Express(Horner-C-, Armstrong-C) in 3:36 when Moondog Rex defeated Brad Armstrong by pinfall with a Splash.]

Winners: Slaughterhouse (Via Pinfall @ 3:36)
Match Rating: C-
Quote:

[A video begins to play showcasing a generic Las Vegas casino. A man is shown standing at the craps table throwing the dice and he seems to win every single time. The man looks up into the camera and introduces himself as Vinnie Vegas. He says that every time he makes a gamble he comes up with a win because he's the best there is. He says that his biggest gamble will be coming to World Championship Wrestling and beating every major wrestler in the business. But he's not coming alone. Another man steps up beside Vegas with a toothpick in his mouth. He introduces himself as The Diamond Studd and tells everyone that he will be the best looking man in WCW. Security steps in, telling them that they need to go because they must be cheating. Studd flicks his toothpick in the face of one of the security guards before it leads into a fight with Vegas and Studd on one side and security on the other. Vegas takes down one with a big boot to the face and Studd tosses another onto the craps table. They reiterate that they will be making their WCW debut soon and the camera pans down to the fallen security before fading to black.]

NWA Television Title Match
10 Minute Time Limit
Z-Man defends vs. Bobby Eaton

[It's time for our first hour main event where Z-Man defends the NWA Television title against the number one contender in 'Beautiful' Bobby Eaton. Z-Man takes the advantage early on in the bout, hitting Eaton with a dropkick and then a clothesline before Eaton rolls out of the ring to get a quick breather, pacing at ringside before sliding back in under the bottom rope. Z-Man picks up the pace again, going right after Eaton as he wants to prove that he is deserving of the Television title. Z-Man wrenches Eaton's arm and then he brings him down with an arm wringer. Z-Man heads to the top turnbuckle and goes for the missile dropkick but Eaton ducks out of the way and Z-Man crashes to the mat. Eaton goes for a quick pinfall but only gets a two count. Eaton continues his control of the match, bringing Z-Man down with a nice vertical suplex before bouncing off the ropes and hitting a diving knee drop. Eaton makes another cover and only gets a two count. As we move forward in the match, the announcer lets everyone that there are four minutes remaining in the time limit. Eaton quickly picks up the pace and brings Z-Man down to the mat with a body slam. He goes for another knee drop but Z-Man rolls out of the way. Z-Man grabs Eaton and slides him over to the turnbuckles, slipping outside the ring and banging Eaton's leg against the ring post. Z-Man seems to be in control when the announcer says there is only one minute remaining! Z-Man heads to the top turnbuckle again and goes for his missile dropkick but Eaton avoids it and Z-Man lands hard on the mat. Eaton is slow to get up but pulls up Z-Man and hits a swinging neckbreaker. Eaton heads to the top turnbuckle slowly due to the knee pain from what he suffered earlier. Eaton makes it to the top and leaps -- Alabama Jam! He connects but grabs his leg in pain. He tries to slide over and make the cover but, just as the referee's hand slaps the mat for two, the bell rings! The time limit has been reached.]

Winner: Draw (Via Time Limit Finish @ 10:00)
Match Rating: B-
Quote:

[Ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta announces that the match has gone the full ten minutes and is declared a draw. This means that Z-Man is still the WCW Television Champion! Z-Man is handed his belt by the official, Randy Anderson. For some reason, Z-Man celebrates like he actually won the match instead of the match being a draw. He raises the title to some cheers from this crowd. An upset Bobby Eaton looks at Z-Man, knowing he was only seconds away from winning the match. Eaton walks over to a celebrating Z-Man and shoves him backward, upset at Z-Man's celebration. Z-Man bounces off the ropes and comes back, dropping Eaton with a Superkick! Eaton falls backward and lands on the mat as Z-Man looks down at him for a moment or two. The camera focuses on Z-Man exiting the ring and high fiving the fans. With that, we move to the staging area.]
Quote:

[The second hour begins at the staging area where we see Tony Schiavone standing by. Schiavone says he hopes that everyone is enjoying the show and reminds us about our main event match where Arn Anderson, Barry Windham and Sid Vicious take on Terry Taylor and The Steiner Brothers. Speaking of the Horsemen, he welcomes his guest, at this time, which is the NWA World Heavyweight Champion 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair! '2001' begins to play and out from the back with his foot in a cast and on crutches comes Ric Flair. The crowd gives him a mixed reaction because there are always fans who will love Ric Flair. Schiavone asks Flair how the foot is feeling and Flair begins by saying that he heard there is a party going on in Winston-Salem tonight. He says that the party will be a celebration when his best friends, The Horsemen, beat down Terry Taylor and The Steiner Brothers in the main event tonight. He tells Schiavone not to worry about his foot because Slick Ric is going to be back at the Clash of the Champions when Terry Taylor has to walk that aisle against the man. Flair says that he is custom made from head to toe. He says that his cast was created in a joint venture by Versace and Armani. But that's just how The Nature Boy is and how he always will be. He says that he lives in a big house on the big side of town and that Terry Taylor is not even close to being in his league or in the league of The Horsemen. He says that last week Barry Windham must have slipped on a banana peel because that's the only way that Terry Taylor could beat a Horseman. But, at the Clash, Taylor is going to find out that to be the man, you have to beat the man and this title means that Ric Flair is the man. Whooo! Schiavone thanks Flair for the words and sends us to the ring for our next match.]

10 Minute Time Limit
The State Patrol vs. Sting and Lex Luger

[In an extremely short match, Sting(B) and Lex Luger(B-) defeated The State Patrol(Wright-E, Parker-D+) in 4:13 when Lex Luger defeated Lt. James Earl Wright by submission with a Torture Rack.]

Winners: Sting and Lex Luger (Via Submission @ 4:13)
Match Rating: C

[It's time for another staging interview. We know this because we're focused on the stage where Tony Schiavone is standing by. He reminds everyone that both Sting and Lex Luger have matches at the Clash of the Champions where Sting faces Larry Zbyszko in a match for Sting's rematch for the NWA World title and Lex Luger defends the NWA United States title against Harley Race. But we must focus on tonight and he welcomes out his guests, at this time, which are Terry Taylor and The Steiner Brothers! Schiavone says that tonight these three men will take on three of the Horsemen and asks them what they have to say about that match. Taylor takes the lion's share of the promo time and talks about how he has all the tools to be successful in this business. Taylor reminds everyone that he is Terrific and that you could say that he is the cock of the walk. He says that no matter what he comes out on top and that's what's going to happen tonight and at the Clash of the Champions. Taylor says that you are looking at the future NWA World Champion right here front and center. Rick Steiner barks in the background, running around in circles. Then, Scott Steiner is given the microphone for a brief promo saying that he and his brother are the best in tag team wrestling. He says that, tonight, Arn Anderson and Barry Windham are going to get a taste of what's going to happen at the Clash of the Champions. Scott says that the Horsemen are the bullies on the block and that The Steiner Brothers take care of bullies here like they used to do in Michigan. They beat respect out of them. Schiavone thanks them for the interview and sends us back to the ring.]

Harley Race vs. Pez Whatley

[In an extremely short match, Harley Race(C-) defeated Pez Whatley(E+) in 4:23 by pinfall with a Piledriver.]

Winner: Harley Race (Via Pinfall @ 4:23)
Match Rating: D+

[Paul E. Dangerously has moved down to his set for this week's edition of The Danger Zone. He tells the fans here to shut their mouths and give some respect to his guests right here on the Danger Zone. Those guests are none other than Teddy Long and the NWA World Tag Team Champions Doom! Doom and Long come out to boos from this crowd here in Winston-Salem. To start this episode of the Danger Zone, Dangerously apologizes to his guests for the crowd booing them. Teddy Long says that's what he would expect from these rednecks here in Winston Salem. He says that they don't recognize talent when they see it. Long points out that Doom has beaten every single tag team that WCW has put in their way. The Steiner Brothers? They beat them. The Horsemen? They survived their challenge. The Road Warriors? They ran from the company so they wouldn't have to face their Doom. Teddy Long says that there's no one from WCW that can beat Doom.]

[The Danger Zone is interrupted by The Wild Eyed Southern Boys! Tracy Smothers and Steve Armstrong approach Doom and Smothers says that they are one team who's never received a NWA World Tag Team title shot. He challenges Doom to put the belts on the line against the two of them. Paul E. Dangerously speaks first, offended that they would show up on his show unannounced and uninvited by him. Smothers looks at Dangerously and says that they're not talking to him. He's talking to Teddy Long and Doom. Long asks them what they've done to earn a World Tag Team title shot and Armstrong replies that they have beaten The Fabulous Freebirds. He says they've also wrestled all around the world and proven themselves over and over again. Long confers with Butch Reed and Ron Simmons and then he says that he will agree that the two of them can have a tag team title shot at the Clash of the Champions at the end of the month since they have an opening then. The two Southern Boys look happy at getting this shot but the two of Doom step right up in their faces for a big photo opportunity. Dangerously says that this has been this edition of the Danger Zone and now it's time for our main event contest.]
Match #7

30 Minute Time Limit Or TV Time Remaining
IV Horsemen (Arn Anderson, Barry Windham and Sid Vicious) vs. The Steiner Brothers and Terry Taylor

[It's main event time and these six men look ready to tear into each other like they did in the parking lot earlier on. On commentary, Jim Ross reminds everyone that they still have the State of the Freebird Address tonight plus Paul E. Dangerously either accepting or declining the challenge laid out by Missy Hyatt. What main event six man tag team match doesn't start with a brawl between all six men? This one definitely does, with each man pairing up with one of their opponents. Scott Steiner sends Arn Anderson flying with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex like he did in the parking lot and then joins his brother to double team Sid Vicious. They hit a double Steinerline and Vicious joins Anderson and Barry Windham, who was tossed out through the ropes, by Terry Taylor during this exchange. Rick Steiner runs around the ring barking before dropping to all fours with his brother Scott Steiner standing over him in the typical Steiner pose. Things slow down with only two wrestlers in the ring beginning with Scott Steiner and Arn Anderson. Scott and Rick use some frequent tags early on to keep Anderson off-balance. They hit a Steinerline/German Suplex combination for an early two count. The momentum shifts when Scott bounces off the ropes and Vicious hits him with a knee to the back. Anderson brings in Sid Vicious and Vicious begins working over Scott Steiner. Vicious sends Scott to the ropes and catches him with a big boot, proclaiming that he is the master and ruler of the world to a booing crowd. The Horsemen use some frequent tags like The Steiner Brothers did earlier in the match, keeping Scott in their corner. They use taunts on Rick and Terry Taylor to draw them in the ring and double and triple team Scott while the referee has his back turned. Later on, Anderson sends Scott to the ropes and catches him with a Spinebuster. Anderson says it's over and makes the cover:]

[....1....

....2....

...Broken Up By Rick Steiner!]

[Rick Steiner saved his brother from being pinned by The Enforcer. That is good because, shortly afterward, Scott Steiner reversed an Arn Anderson DDT attempt by bringing him over with a Northern Light's Suplex. Scott crawls toward his corner, so does Anderson. Anderson tags in Barry Windham and Scott tags in Terry Taylor! Taylor comes in with punches and clothesline to Windham, Anderson and Vicious! The Steiner Brothers join in the battle and we get a scene where all three members of that team rain down punches on The Horsemen in three separate corners while the crowd counts along to ten. The ring clears out except for Taylor and Windham as The Steiner Brothers and the other two Horsemen battle it out at ringside. Taylor goes to send Windham to the ropes but Windham reverses and catches Taylor with a dropkick. Windham lifts up Taylor and goes to a corner, setting Taylor up in the corner. Windham climbs up, setting up Taylor for the Superplex but Taylor shows he was playing possum! He throws punches to Windham and then shoves Windham off the second turnbuckle to the mat below. Taylor catches Windham with a jawbreaker and then knocks Arn Anderson off the apron as Anderson had climbed up to interfere with the match. Taylor bounces off the ropes and rushes toward Windham. Windham avoids the Five Arm attempt and goes for the Clawhold but Taylor grabs him by the wrist. Taylor struggles with Windham and then strikes him with a couple of knee shots to the ribs. Taylor kicks Windham backward and Windham falls into a turnbuckle. Scott Steiner rolls into the ring and grabs Windham, sending him to the ropes -- Frankensteiner! Scott rolls out and Terry Taylor makes the cover:]

[....1....

....2....

....3!]

Winners: The Steiner Brothers and Terry Taylor (Via Pinfall @ 15:56)
Match Rating: B
Quote:

[With Terry Taylor and The Steiner Brothers celebrating in the ring, we move to the announce booth, focusing on Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously. Ross says that Dangerously has waited long enough and now it is time to find out his answer to Missy Hyatt's challenge. Dangerously says that Missy Hyatt made a big mistake when she left the kitchen. He tells her that she can still back out and get him a sandwich or clean his house any time she wants to. But, in answer to her challenge, he says that, on behalf of every man who has dealt with a woman who doesn't know her place, he accepts the arm wrestling challenge. He tells Jim Ross not to worry, though, because Missy Hyatt has no chance against him. He flashes his arms in a rather comedic spot. Jim Ross says, well there you have it. At the Clash of the Champions it will be Missy Hyatt versus Paul E. Dangerously in a battle of the sexes arm wrestling match. Dangerously says that they need to head to a man who definitely knows how to put a woman in her place. That man is Freebird Michael Hayes, who is ready to give them the State of The Freebirds Address.]
Quote:

[The crowd releases boos as 'Badstreet USA' begins to play and out from the back comes Michael P.S. Hayes. Hayes ignores the boos and the catcalls as he walks to the ring and steps inside. He is given a microphone and reminds everyone that tonight is the State of the Freebirds Address. He says that he is the sole leader of the Freebirds and always has been. However, he makes the official announcement that the Fabulous Freebirds have come to an end. He says that his former partner in crime could not handle the Freebird lifestyle and ran away from the company with his tail between his legs. He says that that is not the way that the Freebirds handle things so he makes it official that Jimmy Garvin is no longer a Freebird. However, with that being said, Hayes says that the loss of his partner just means that he has an opening at the Clash of the Champions for a one on one match. He says that he knows that there are a bunch of clowns in the back that are just begging for a match at the Clash. He asks any one of those idiots to come out from the back and face him one on one at the Clash. Hayes paces in the ring, waiting for the man who will accept his open challenge. However, he was not expecting this man to answer that challenge.]

[The crowd is in shock as Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat comes out from the back to answer the challenge. Michael Hayes tries to back out of the challenge as Steamboat walks to the ring. Steamboat enters the ring and is given a microphone. He says that Hayes' challenge was open to anyone, right? He says that he accepts the challenge and will face Hayes at the Clash of the Champions. He tells the fans that he is happy to be back here in WCW. He reminds everyone that the last time he was here in WCW he lost his cool. However, he is a new man and he is going to prove that when he faces Michael Hayes. Hayes looks angry, telling Steamboat that he is ruining his moment. He tells The Dragon to get out of his ring and to punctuate that point he hits Steamboat with the microphone. Hayes stomps the fallen Steamboat before picking him up and throwing him over the top rope, a move that would be a disqualification if this was in a match. Hayes raises his arms, turning his back to Steamboat. What he doesn't see is that Steamboat has grabbed the top rope. Steamboat skins the cat, working his way back up and into the ring behind Hayes. He turns Hayes around and lays into him with chops. Hayes is shocked to see Steamboat on his feet. Steamboat catches Hayes with a standing dropkick and Hayes rolls out of the ring. Hayes looks up angrily into the ring as The Dragon gets cheers from the crowd. Ricky Steamboat plays to the crowd as the show comes to an end. The cameras focus on a celebrating Steamboat as Jim Ross reminds everyone to watch the Power Hour this Friday night where we will see Kevin Sullivan taking on Ricky Morton. Dangerously says that what Steamboat did was a travesty and that Hayes will take care of business at the Clash. The credits roll and we are out of time! See you at the Power Hour!]

Hey Beejus! Thanks for the predictions and comments. Harley Race is one of the top wrestlers in history, in my opinion. So I definitely agree that he has a lot of skills to pass on to wrestlers who are looking to come up toward that main event scene.

Hey to4sty! Thanks for the predictions and comments. In case you didn't know, Lethal Larry is Larry Cameron. He is one of those few wrestlers who, in real life, died in the ring.

-Jim Ross and Paul E. Dangerously kick off the show from the announce booth. They welcome everyone to the show and talk about the main event tonight where Kevin Sullivan takes on Ricky Morton. JR says that this should be a great match between two veteran wrestlers. Dangerously would rather talk about his upcoming arm wrestling contest with Missy Hyatt. He predicts a victory for himself and for men everywhere. Ross says that remains to be seen before he sends us to the ring for our opening bout.

-In an extremely short match, Junkyard Dog(C-) defeated Scott Armstrong(E) in 3:40 by pinfall with a Powerslam...D+

-We are taken to a video that recaps what happened at the end of WCW Saturday Night where Michael Hayes gave the State of the Freebirds Address. He ended the team known as The Freebirds and issued an open challenge for Clash of the Champions. That open challenge was answered by the WCW return of Ricky Steamboat! Hayes got an early hit on Steamboat but Steamboat fired back and stood tall to end the show.

-In a bout that didn't have much heat and terrible wrestling, Bill Irwin(D) defeated Pez Whatley(E+) in 3:53 by pinfall with a Superplex...D

-Set to a 1980's pop ballad, we are shown Missy Hyatt working out as she gets ready for her Battle of the Sexes arm wrestling contest against Paul E. Dangerously. She is shown lifting weights and talking about how she is going to beat Paul E. A punching bag is shown with a picture of Dangerously on it and Hyatt is shown punching the bag, saying that she is going to embarass Paul E. Dangerously. Hyatt is shown flexing for the camera and she gives a smile before we go to the ring.

-In an extremely short match, The Steiner Brothers(C+) defeated The State Patrol(Parker-D, Wright-E+) in 4:01 when Scott Steiner defeated Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker by pinfall with a Steinerizer...C-

-It's that time again, ladies and gentlemen! It's time for the Wrestling News Network hosted by Gordon Solie! Solie welcomes everyone and reminds them to tune in to WCW Saturday Night tomorrow night for another live edition of the show. He, also, says that we are only a month away from WrestleWar on pay-per-view. That means the return of War Games. He says that he is able to announce that one side of the War Games event will be none other than the Four Horsemen! He sends us to comments from the Horsemen now. All four of the Horsemen, including the injured Ric Flair, talk about the War Games match coming up. They talk about their experiences in the match beyond and that experience will beat whoever their opponents are. Flair adds that he has proven that he is the man because he is the one that holds the gold. He releases a 'Whooo' and says that someone is going to bleed all night long before we go to the ring for our main event.

-In a decent match, Kevin Sullivan(C) defeated Ricky Morton(C-) in 9:58 by pinfall with a Devil Stomp...C+

-Kevin Sullivan has scored the victory over Ricky Morton but Slaughterhouse is not done! Moondog Rex and Big Cat join Sullivan in the ring and they begin putting the boots to Morton. Rex picks up Morton and ties him up in the Tree of Woe. Then Sullivan charges and hits Morton with a running knee attack. Sullivan pulls Morton from the tree of woe and shoves him toward Big Cat, who drops him with a spinning side slam. Moondog Rex hits Morton with his bone and Slaughterhouse stands tall as the show comes to an end. JR reminds us to watch WCW Saturday Night tomorrow night before the fade to black.

-WCW Saturday Night comes to you live this week from the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Massachusetts for another huge episode! We have a fantastic main event in store for you as The Living Legend Larry Zbyszko steps in the ring with the number one contender Terrific Terry Taylor. This could be a preview for a future match if Taylor can beat Ric Flair and Zbyszko can beat Sting at the Clash of the Champions. Can Terrific Terry pull another upset against the Living Legend?

-In other action, we will see the WCW debut of Luchador Octagon. This man has been working hard in Mexico in both singles and tag team action. However, he will be stepping into the ring with the computerized man of the 90's Michael Wallstreet. We have learned that Alexandra York has promised that Wallstreet will win this match in less than five minutes. Can Octagon survive the computer?

-We will be seeing another defense of the NWA Television title as Z-Man defends the belt against Lethal Larry. Larry picked up a win in six man tag team action last week, while Z-Man went to a time limit draw with Bobby Eaton. Larry has the backup and support of Teddy Long and Doom. Will this be enough for him to win the Television title? Make sure you tune in to find out!

-Speaking of Doom, in our first hour main event we will have a non-title match as Doom faces Sting and the NWA United States Champion Lex Luger! This tag team encounter should definitely be a bang live on WCW Saturday Night. Both teams picked up wins last week on the show. Who will pick up some momentum as we move toward the Clash of the Champions? Who will need more momentum after this match?

-We will also see the WCW debut/return of Chuck O'Connor, The Southern Boys in action against Bill Irwin and Black Bart, A Danger Zone segment with Bobby Eaton and more! Make sure you tune in to TBS and WCW Saturday Night!

Chuck O'Connor - I almost think this match is here to be interrupted by someone.
Southern Boys - Big win for the Southern Pistols.
Vader
Sting and Luger - No one defeats the Ultra Powers! Well, no one but Horsemen, at least.
Z-Man - I'm not sure if we are moving toward a heel turn or just Zenk was being an ass doing a big celebration for retaining his title. Either one is acceptable.
Michael Wallstreet
Terry Taylor - Terry has the bigger match coming up, though Larry's is big in it's own regard.
