Three suggestions that I don't remember seeing before:
1) Three-Loss Clause: A part of contract negotiations that allow you to dismiss a fighter for free if they have lost more than two fights in a row for your promotion (regardless if the losing streak happened before the clause was entered in or not). Obviously older fighters and international-popularity fighters will be less likely to agree to this. 2. Age Divisions: Japanese promotions have held Under 18 tournaments. It wouldn't be implausible to see U21 or even U25 competitions in MMA. 3. Tryout Contracts: A new contract type allowing both to give fighters a chance to prove an asset to a promotion while allowing for TUF-style tournaments. Tryout contracts would only be available for fighters that are at least three full popularity ranks under you (Low Level International promotions can only give them High Level Regional or lower popularity for example). The contracts are one match long, but you may immediately rehire that fighter. |
