Football manager is literally the best management game series ever. There is no way to compete with them.
Name any other sport and do a series, baseball has OTTP series which is good but only about 1 tenth of Football Manager.

I don't think so. GDS created two series of management games about basketball despite the fact that the basketball pro management / pro basketball manager series is the best management game about basketball. So I do not see any contraindications for GDS to create a management game about soccer.

I would said that FM is too over to compete with...

However, I think that they won't ever made a game easy moddable to play with. They won't kill the golden goose and great value of each year is the new database.

You can't beat their Ronaldo vs Messi, but hell if there is no market for a moddable game that you can put a '98 world with Beckham, Ronaldo, Batistuta vs Zidane vs Bergkamp
