NXT U.K. opens up with a recap video of Joseph Conners and Pete Dunne last week but, then quickly focuses on Gallus demanding that Joe Coffey placed into the NXT United Kingdom title match at TakeOver: New York. When Saint refuses, Gallus destroys the General Manager and we see medical attention being given to Saint.

Rating: 6.6

WWE COO Triple H opens the show from the famous Royal Albert Hall and says that last week something heinous happened. Gallus didn’t get their way and get the title match that they wanted so they threw a tantrum and then they took out a legend. If it wasn’t for Johnny Saint, NXT U.K. would not be a reality and so Triple H is personally pissed off at what happened because, unfortunately, due to the cowardly attack on Saint, he will not be able to return to NXT U.K. as your General Manager. Now, it would be easy to just fire the Coffey boys and their henchman, Wolfgang but, this isn’t a call that Hunter should make. That call should be made by the new General Manager of NXT U.K., someone who Triple H promises will fight back when challenged, someone who won’t be bullied, someone….who loves to fight…

The crowd roars as United Kingdom legend, Finlay, is introduced as the new General Manager of NXT U.K. Finlay shakes Triple H’s hand and says that what Gallus did last week was cowardly because a man doesn’t beat up on a man nearing 80 years old. A man doesn’t sneak attack. A man stands and fights face to face. So Gallus, should you ever return and that will be decided at a later date, beware because NXT U.K. has a leader that isn’t afraid to kick some arse. Finlay pumps his hands in the air as the crowd roars and NXT U.K. goes to a commercial with the promise of Mastiff in action…next.

Rating: 6.7

Quote:

Local talent, Danny Duggan has the unfortunate duty of drawing this match with the returning monster Mastiff. He tries valiantly but, is destroyed by Mastiff who slams Duggan around the ring before ending the match with a brutal SpineBuster for the 3 count.

Winner by pinfall: Mastiff
Rating: 4.2

We go to a video showing the brutal destruction of Toni Storm a few weeks ago at the hands of Killer Kelly & Jinny while Rhea Ripley had to watch. A graphic tells us that next week on NXT U.K. Toni Storm will return to update us on her condition.

Rating: 7.0

Friends Stand United (Eddie Dennis & Mark Andrews) put on a clinic in tag team wrestling against The Mighty but Miller and Thorn are about to use some heel moves and ground the high flyers. In the end Nick Miller goes for a DDT but Dennis reverses it into a Northern Lights Suplex while Andrews does a 450 onto Miller for the 3 count.

Winners by pinfall: Friends Stand United
Rating: 6.2

We go to a highlight video on Samuel Gradwell who promises that whomever walks out of NXT TakeOver: New York as United Kingdom Champion, that person is next on the hitlist of Samuel Gradwell.

Rating: 5.0

A graphic tells us that next week on NXT U.K., Luke Menzies will have his highest profile match yet when he takes on…Tyler Bate.

But, when we come back NXT United Kingdom Champion, Pete Dunne is in our main event.

Rating: 5.0

Quote:

This is a non title match with the idea being that Kento Miyahara can raise his profile and prove himself in a match against the champion and prove himself he does. Kento uses Japanese strong style maneuvers that quickly have the Bruiserweight realizing that he’s in a fight. The two trade near falls and have a brutal match of stiff strikes that sees Kento almost beat the champion with a sidekick to the back of Dunne’s head but, Kento falls victim to the Bitter End for the 3 count but Dunne knows he earned that one.

Winner by pinfall: Pete Dunne
Rating: 5.6

Pete Dunne grabs Kento’s hand and shakes it and raises it into the air in a sign of respect for such a well fough…

Joseph Conners has snuck into the ring and he has a chair. He slams it into the back of the champion and then nails Kento with it as well. In a moment’s notice, Conners is on Dunne who is dumped onto the floor. Conners drops the champion with a DDT onto the floor mat and then peels back one of the mats. Refs flood the ringside area to try to stop the challenger but, he has Dunne prone. Joseph Conners slams Pete Dunne face first with a DDT onto the exposed floor and Dunne’s nose is immediately bloody. The screen gets pixelated as Conners starts rubbing the face of Dunne on the floor. More officials and, finally, Finlay rush ringside and pull Conners off. Finlay is screaming at the gloating challenger for the United Kingdom Championship while officials check on the champion as NXT U.K. goes off the air.

Drew McIntyre is in his locker room sitting on a bench and looking straight into the camera. He says that last week Dean Ambrose must have had a mental breakdown because he was stupid enough to stick his nose in business that didn’t affect him. Tonight he’s going to show Ambrose what happens to people who stick their nose in Drew McIntyre’s business. One psychopath to one lunatic, man to man, that means tonight Dean Ambrose is gonna get hurt.

Would you put it all on the line for just the chance to taste greatness? The Dream would and the Dream will and right now he has his eyes set on one Bobby Roode and that WWE Intercontinental championship. It may not be today and it may not be tomorrow, but someday soon the world will be entranced by the vision of the Dream holding up that title. Can you see it? Can you feel it?

Titus O'neil approaches Bobby Lashley and offers to represent him, saying Titus can give him his full attention and not be distracted by 205 Live. These two square off going power for power and neither man gets very far before the other turns the tide. Near the end they spill to the outside after Crews clotheslines Lashley over the top. Lashley gets to his feet first, pulling himself up near the timekeeper and when Crews rushes him, Lashley hits him in the head with the ring bell and it’s an easy call for the referee to declare a disqualification.

Winner by Disqualification: Apollo Crews

Kurt Angle is in his office when the Revival come in, clearly still angry from Dawson’s earlier loss. They tell Angle that if Maverick wants to get involved against the Top Guys he needs to be in the match. They then ask him to turn their RAW Tag Team Championship match with AOP this Sunday into a handicap match with Maverick tagging with his men. Angle agrees though he says he doesn’t know why they’d want an extra opponent against someone like AOP.

You might say she’s the best there is, the best there was, and the best that there ever will be. She smirks at Charly and walks off.

Dean Ambrose is back in his locker room pacing, psyching himself up for his match tonight. He says all week people have been asking why he did what he did last week and it’s as if people have been living under a Rock. It’s no secret that he and Seth Rollins have not been seeing eye to eye for a long long time. It’s also no secret that he has done everything in his power to punish Seth Rollins. Ambrose pauses, gritting his teeth before continuing to say that Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler must be only children because they didn’t know that the only people allowed to punish a brother, is another brother. So now tonight he’s going to have to show Drew McIntyre what happens when you overstep.

Winner by Pinfall: John Cena

Quote:

This one is a brawl from the opening bell and the action flows from the inside to the outside and back again with each man landing some stiff looking offense. McIntyre hits a superplex but Ambrose kicks out at the very last second. McIntyre grows impatient, shouting at the referee for what he feels is a slow count, but this self inflicted distraction turns disastrous when he bends down to pick up Ambrose and he’s pulled into a small package as the referee counts to three...a little faster than before.

Winner by Pinfall: Dean Ambrose
Rating: 85

As Ambrose is beaten in the ring by both McIntyre and Ziggler Seth Rollins watches on a monitor backstage. He’s clearly of two minds but finally he can’t watch any longer. Rollins takes off to the ring and a moment later the crowd cheers when they see him. Rollins slides in and begins attacking both men. It allows Ambrose to get a breath and soon he’s back in the fight and it’s two on two. It doesn’t take long for Rollins and Ambrose to clear the ring. The crowd is on its feet as they watch one another. Rollins gets a mic and says that he heard what Ambrose said earlier, and they may have issues between one another but you don’t mess with his brother! He then turns to McIntyre and Ziggler and says at Fastlane he wants them in a tag match….if he can find a partner. He then sticks his fist out towards Ambrose. Now it’s Ambrose turn to look conflicted but he takes turns staring at Rollins, then to the duo outside before putting his fist to Rollins’ and the crowd erupts. McIntyre and Ziggler on the outside do not look pleased at this development.

Cameras cut to the back and here comes Becky Lynch through the door. She’s headed to the ring right after the commercial break.

Rating: 76

No sooner are we back from commercial than we hear the music of Becky Lynch and she comes down to the ring. She gets a mic and talks about how her life changed because of two things. The fans believing in her and Nia Jax’s right hand. Well when she goes into WrestleMania and takes Ronnie’s pride and joy she wants to do so with a clean slate and there is one little mark that’s keeping her from that and that would be Nia Jax and on Sunday she’s going to take care of that blemish.

Nia Jax comes out to the ring and the two get face to face. Jax is very dismissive of Lynch which ends when Lynch punches her and the fight is on. They brawl around the ring and Lynch is getting the better of it but when they go to the outside, Lynch leaps off the apron onto Jax but Nia catches her and rams her into the ringpost several times. After dropping a heavy leg drop onto Lynch, Nia seems to get an idea. She picks Becky up and puts her on her shoulders and walks around the ring, walking up the stairs to the apron. Nia’s got an evil smile as it becomes apparent what she’s got planned. With Cole and Renee pleading from afar for her to stop, Nia falls off the apron and delivers a Samoan drop to the floor below. Becky is barely moving as officials rush to her. Nia is shaken for a moment but she recovers and when she sees the carnage she just pulls herself to her feet and watches as the show ends.

Adam Cole of the Undisputed Era comes out and he is furious as he gets into the ring. He begins to go on about how there is a conspiracy in NXT against him and the Undisputed Era and this conspiracy goes to the very top. William Regal has decided to pass the buck because he knows that he if full of shit when he keeps Adam Cole Bay Bay out of the NXT Title match at Take.,.

Triple H comes out and tells Cole to shut up and stop his whining. He tells Cole that he is not in a good mood and to not piss him off here tonight. The fact of the matter is that sometimes business trumps someone's personal ambition and business said that Jay Lethal is a hot commodity and one of the most sought after wrestlers in the world. Jay Lethal main eventing TakeOver: New York is right for business. It's the best thing for NXT. Triple H says that he doesn't give a damn about Cole's bruised ego. William Regal did the right thing but, perhaps Adam Cole does have a case to be made.

The truth is that as much as Triple H would like, he can't please everyone. And as much as he would like to give opportunities to every talent, sometimes you have to do whats best for business. So, Adam Cole, you are not in the NXT Title match at TakeOver: New York - that match remains Jay Lethal challenging Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa, by the way, will be in action tonight against the returning Tye Dillinger, and Jay Lethal has been invited to be here tonight.

But, NXT is about opportunity and Adam Cole has earned the right to challenge for the title. Hell, so has Aleister Black. So has Johnny Gargano which gives Triple H an idea. At NXT TakeOver: New York it will be..Adam Cole versus Aleister Black versus Johnny Gargano and, should he defeat Ciampa tonight, Tye Dillinger in a fatal fourway. Should Tye Dillinger lose tonight, it will be a triple threat match. And the winner of that match will be able to challenge for the NXT Title anytime, anywhere, no conditions, no stupid brief cases. To the winner goes the spoils. Adam Cole, this is your chance, seize it in New York and the title shot is yours.

Cole is still not happy but, the match is made.

Barthel and Fish have a strong style match up and Marcel gets some good offense in. The finish comes when Fish takes a Barthel uppercut, grabs Marcel’s arm and locks on the crossface. Marcel tries to hold on but, Fish pulls Barthel’s neck back further and Marcel is forced to tap out.
Winner by submission: Bobby Fish
Rating: 4.9

After the match, Bobby Fish grabs a mic and says that last week he made his future clear but, just in case it was too subtle for that moron Ricochet, here it is: Bobby Fish is challenging Ricochet for the NXT North American Championship at TakeOver: New York.

Ricohet comes out and says that if Fish wanted a shot, all he had to do was ask, he didn't need to sneak attack last week. Ricochet says that Fish is a coward but Ricochet is a man. He accepts the challenge, hell we can do it tonight. Ricochet runs down and into the ring and just as he gets in, Fish bails to the floor. He backs up the aisle saying "we fight when I'm ready" while, the champion wants Fish in the ring right now. The match is made for TakeOver: Bobby Fish vs Ricochet for the North American Championship.

Rating: 6.1

Johnny Gargano does a promo in the back and says that fortune favors the brave and the opportunity for fortune is right before his eyes. At NXT TakeOver: New York, Johnny doesn't care if it is 2 men or 3 men or the entire city of New York that he has to go through. The opportunity is his. And at night's end, the title shot will belong to Johnny Wrestling.

JNikki Cross comes out and says that she wants some FUNNNNN. She demands Shayna come down for a match.

Rating: 6.6

Quote:

Baszler comes down bewildered by Nikki's excited (almost manic) expression and before the bell can even sound, the Queen of Spades nails Nikki with the title belt. Shayna goes to the floor and grabs a chair and wallops Nikki's back with it. The referee pleads with Shayna to stop so the match can begin but, Baszler throws him out of the ring and locks on the Kirifuda Clutch. Nikki looks like she is enjoying herself before she passes out in the clutch of the NXT Women's Champion. Referees rush to the ring to stop this assault.
Result: No Decision Due to Match Never Starting
Rating: 6.0

The refs try to get Baszler off of Nikki but she won't release the hold. Kairi Sane runs down the aisle and jumps onto the top rope. Shayna sees her just in time as Kairi was preparing to drop an IN-Sane elbow. Baszler releases Nikki and bails from the ring. Kairi checks on Nikki Cross as the Women's Champion goes up the aisle, pleased with herself.

We go back to two weeks ago where War Raiders won the right to have their final challenge at the NXT Tag Team Championship. We are told that next week on NXT it will be Roderick Strong against Rowe and the announcers wonder, what plan does the Undisputed Era have to keep the tag team titles around their waist in four weeks.

Rating: 7.1

In the back is Tye Dillinger. He says that he returned to NXT for this moment. The opportunity of a lifetime is before him if he can win this match. The world may not have seen it on the main roster but they will know it now, Tye Dillinger is the Perfect 10 and he is defeating Tommaso Ciampa....next.

Rating: 5.7

Ciampa doesn’t take Dillinger seriously to begin this match and that nearly costs Tommaso. Dillinger scores with a Impaler DDT and covers but, Ciampa kicks out. From there we get a back and forth encounter that goes all over the arena before getting back in the ring. Ciampa gets control after a missed splash by Dillinger and then begins to set up Dillinger for the finish. Just as Ciampa prepares to go for Project Ciampa, Jay Lethal comes out to the stage. Tommaso is distracted by the presence of his NXT Championship challenger which gives Tye the opportunity he needs. Dillinger rolls Tommaso up from behind as the ref counts 1…2…3. Tye Dillinger is going to TakeOver: New York
Winner by pinfall: Tye Dillinger
Rating: 6.2

Tye goes into the crowd to celebrate his win. He will advance to TakeOver: New York for the opportunity of a lifetime. Lethal points at "Goldie" and says that is his while Ciampa clutches it in desperation as NXT goes off the air.

Toni storm returns to a big pop. She still looks sore as she gets into the ring. Toni says that she appreciates the love of the fans but, she was set up and she was targeted by Killer Kelly and Jinny. Well, she's here now. She wants a fight so, how about those two come out right now.

Kelly and Jinny come out and they have bad intentions in their eyes. Toni begs for them to come into the ring but just before they do, she points behind them and Rhea Ripley is there with a chair. Toni removes a baseball bat from her jacket just as Ripley charges Kelly and Jinny. Toni dives from the ring with the bat and Storm and Rhea go to work on Killer Kelly and Jinny. Eventually the heels jump into the crowd and run away with Storm and Ripley demanding them to come back and fight.

This is a fantastic back and forth encounter where Bate nearly scores the victory over Menzies. Menzies responds with suplexes and dead lifts around the ring but, he cant lock in the Ankle Lock. Bate is able to nail the Tyler Driver but Menzies kicks out just in the nick of time. Bate flies off for a stop off the top rope but, Menzies rolls out of the way and Tyler stubs his leg on the landing. Menzies uses that to his advantage and quickly locks in the Ankle Lock. Tyler tries to withstand the pain but soon has to tap out.

Winner by pinfall: Luke Menzies

The announcers take us back to earlier tonight where Finlay announces the punishment for Joseph Conners being a mystery match. Conners will fight in the main event....next.

Rating: 5.0

Joseph Conners comes out and mocks Finlay saying that he is not scared of whomever the old Irish bastard comes up with for punishment. Just then:

Conners goes white as Mastiff makes his way down to the ring. Conners tries to talk his way out of the match but, Mastiff pummels him and the bell rings.

Quote:

Conners survives the onslaught and battles back into the match but Mastiff is so massive that Conners can't get a firm footing in the fight. The tide turns when Mastiff goes for the Spinebuster but, Joseph is able to drop him with a DDT and then he is able to, amazingly, nail a German suplex for a close two count. Even more amazingly, Conners is able to lift Mastiff up and nail Don't Look Down. Cover...1....2....MASTIFF KICKS OUT and stands up pissed off. Conners tries some punches but Mastiff swats them away. Joseph decides to bail on the match and heads up the ramp as the referee counts. NXT U.K. General Manager Finlay comes out and throws Joseph Conners back into the match where he meets Mastiff who immediately delivers a furious Spinebuster. One more Spinebuster for good measure and the 1...2..3.

Winner by pinfall: Mastiff

Backstage we see Shane McMahon pacing, asking anyone who comes by if they’ve seen Randy Orton but everyone says no. It’s clear Shane’s patience is near an end.

As the show begins we’re immediately taken into a retrospective video covering the history between Becky Lynch and Nia Jax

Rating: 83

Quote:

Nia plays the role of immovable object early on, deflecting Becky’s offense before leveling her with a shoulder block. Nia drops several elbows before Becky rolls to the outside to recover. Nia follows but when she charges Becky who is leaning against the ringpost, Becky moves and Nia smacks the post head first. Becky starts her comeback, tagging Nia with several right hands, before hitting a jumping knee to the face off the apron which drops Nia. Becky gets back in the ring and the referee begins his count but Nia beats the ten count at the last second. Becky goes back on the attack but Nia catches her second wind and cinches in a bear hug. Becky begins tiring and the referee checks her arm. It falls once, twice, but on the third Becky stops her arm and begins feeling the energy of the crowd. She delivers three right hands but Nia won’t let go, so Becky bites her on her nose. Nia drops her and shoves her away. Becky tries to whip Nia into the opposite corner but Nia reverses and Becky hits hard. Nia charges shoulder first but Becky moves and Nia hits the post. She backs up slowly buy Becky dropkicks her in the rear driving her back into the post. Nia backs out fully, bent over and holding her shoulder. Becky grabs her and with ultimate effort hits a snap suplex. She doesn’t waste time and locks in the Dis-Arm-Her. Nia tries to reach the ropes but she’s too far away and with her arm in a bad way she has to tap.

Winner by Submission: Becky Lynch

As Nia licks her wounds on the outside, holding onto her arm, Becky celebrates from the corner with her fans.

We see Paul Heyman outside Kurt Angle’s office. Angle exits and stops Heyman before he can even speak. Angle tells him he doesn’t know how else to say it. He doesn’t care what Brock Lesnar wants, he’s not going to be put in the Universal Title match. He further tells Heyman he never wants to talk about this again before moving on. Heyman looks a cross between unsure and concerned.

Joe attacks Rusev on his way down the ramp and the brawl begins. Joe holds the momentum battering Rusev around ringside, but when the crowd begins chanting ‘Rusev Day’ the Super-Athlete comes alive, and turns the tables on Joe, backdropping him onto the Spanish announcer’s table. Rusev and Joe trade the advantage back and forth, with Joe at one point locking in the Kokina Clutch. Rusev only dislodges him by diving into the corner and forcing Joe to hit the top turnbuckle face first. Both men are looking the worse for wear but Rusev keeps pushing, hitting a senton off the second top but Joe kicks out. Joe rolls out of the ring, staggering back towards the announcer’s table. Rusev follows and walks into a series of strikes. When Rusev turns away, Joe puts him in the Kokina again. Rusev rams him into the edge of the announcer’s table several times before he lets go. When he’s free, Rusev turns and nails the Machka Kick. Joe is dazed and rolls onto the table. Rusev follows and puts him in the Accolade on top of the announcer’s table. Joe is fading but before he can tap, all five members of SAnitY swarm them, coming from the audience.

Harper and Rowan take care of Joe while Young, Wolfe, and Dain focus on Rusev. The referee calls for the bell, declaring a no contest.

No Contest
Rating: 80

SAnitY isn’t done by a long shot as they use everything they can get their hands on to batter both Rusev and Joe. Young calls out to his men and they deliver matching powerbombs to Joe and Rusev, with one though the main announcer’s table and one through the Spanish. Young seems very pleased with what his men have done and they exit into the crowd the way they came.

Backstage we see a limo pull up. A moment later Triple H and Randy Orton exit and head into the building, both seeming to be in a good mood.

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose are in their locker room. Rollins tells Ambrose that tonight his focus is on McIntyre and Ziggler but if Ambrose thinks he’s going to stab him in the back it’ll be the biggest mistake he’s ever made. Ambrose replies that he’s made a lot of bad mistakes but tonight Rollins doesn’t have to worry and an uneasy peace settles in.

Ronda Rousey is backstage with Charly Caruso. Caruso asks her about WrestleMania now that Becky Lynch has defeated Nia Jax in convincing fashion. Rousey shrugs it off and says she doesn’t look past anyone. Tomorrow night on RAW it’s Sasha Banks’ turn to be taught some humility and then she’ll deal with the ginger with gender dysphoria.

Ambrose begins against Ziggler and the advantage goes back and forth with Ambrose eventually being isolated in enemy territory. Ziggler and McIntyre trade turns picking Ambrose apart as Rollins is desperate to make the tag. The opening happens when McIntyre goes for an early Claymore which Ambrose ducks and dives to his corner to make the tag. Rollins is on fire, hitting a series of slingblade clotheslines on McIntyre then nailing a pinpoint dropkick on Ziggler, sending him off the apron. McIntyre looks dazed as Rollins keeps up the action and when the referee forces him way as McIntyre is in the ropes, Ambrose comes over and gets in some shots to the crowd’s delight.. McIntyre staggers to the middle of the ring where Rollins connects with a running knee to the jaw Rollins looks to his corner and Ambrose who’s dying for the tag. With a look to the crowd for their approval the tag is made and Ambrose is ready for round two. He goes after McIntyre and Ziggler back and forth. Ambrose goes to the second rope to measure McIntyre for a elbow but Ziggler connects with a superkick and Ambrose tumbles to the outside. Meanwhile as Rollins comes into the ring to protest and the referee blocks him, McIntyre blasts them both with a splash into the corner. With Ambrose on the outside and the referee down, McIntyre and Ziggler take advantage double teaming Rollins. Suddenly Ambrose is up and grabs a chair from ringside. He slides in and jabs Ziggler in the ribs before winding up to swing at McIntyre, but Drew moves and Ambrose swings at Rollins. At the very last second he’s able to pull back and the two teammates stare at each other for a moment before McIntyre has bounded off the ropes and delivers a Claymore to the back of Ambrose’s head, knocking him--and the chair--into Rollins, sending the Kingslayer to the outside. McIntyre makes the cover and Ziggler drags the referee over to make the three count.

Winners by Pinfall: Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler

When we come back to the ring Kurt Angle is there, with a table and two chairs set up. He talks up the Universal Championship match at WrestleMania. He introduces the two men starting with the WWE Universal Champion.

There is tension in the ring but also clear mutual respect. Strowman signs the contract first and tells Cena that he knows he’s fighting for his legacy but unfortunately for Cena that legacy is going to get these hands and it will be the last time he’s ever in this position again.

Cena takes it in stride. He tells Strowman its more than legacy. It’s about the kids out there with the armbands and it’s about the 600 people he’s met who aren’t sure they’ll see the sun rise the next day sometimes. Never give up isn’t a cool shirt or a throwaway catchphrase. It’s a life mantra and at WrestleMania he may win that title or he may lose, but he promises Strowman that if he wants to keep it...he’ll have to earn it.

Cena signs the paper and as the two men go face to face Angle talks up the match one more time.

The AOP waste no time in going to work on Dawson and keeping him in their corner. As Maverick shouts instructions Akam and Rezar punish him and the one time he gets close to a tag, Akam runs over and blasts Wilder off the apron before dragging Dawson back to their corner where Rezar drops an elbow on his back. The match continues in the same fashion with Dawson barely able to kick out of a few pin attempts. Finally, with Dawson barely moving Maverick yells for the tag. He makes the cover but Wilder not only breaks it up, he grabs Maverick and launches him into the Revival’s corner. Maverick hits hard and lands in a heap. Wilder gets back into the corner and yells for Dawson to make the tag. Dawson drags himself but right before he gets there, Rezar gets in the ring and distracts the referee who misses the tag, When the ref turns around he forces Wilder out of the ring. Meanwhile Akam is trying to drag Maverick back to the champions’ corner but Dawson has Maverick by the hair. Maverick screams in pain as he’s pulled in two directions but Dawson reaches up and makes the tag. Wilder hits the ring and smashes Akam in the face with a forearm before whipping him into Rezar who had just entered the ring. The AOP are staggered and the Revival send them over the top with dual clotheslines. Maverick now recognizes his position and he tries to exit the ring but the Revival catch him by the waistline of his pants. Dawson is tagged back in while Wilder runs around the ring and dropkicks Rezar into Akam, stunning them again. Dawson meanwhile has hit a few old school moves such as an atomic drop and the old ten count while slamming Maverick’s head into the turnbuckles. Wilder hops up onto the apron and gets the tag and the challengers quickly hit the Shatter Machine. As the referee makes the count, Akam and Rezar are stepping through the ropes and Wilder kicks the middle rope crotching them both and letting the referee finish his count.

Winners by Pinfall and new RAW Tag Team Champions: The Revival

As the Revival grab their belts and run out of there, the AOP are stunned, before turning their eyes to Drake Maverick who is still laying there stunned. A replay is shown of Kharma’s brutal attack on Asuka at last month’s Elimination Chamber as Asuka was set to enter the chamber. The announcers reference how an intercession on behalf of Mr. McMahon then named Kharma as the 6th woman in the Elimination Chamber match.

Just before the referee signals for the bell an unexpected face emerges from the back.

Bruce Prichard comes down the ramp, looking at no one in the ring, and goes right to the ring announcer. A quick conversation is had and it is announced that on the orders of WWE Chairman, Mr. McMahon, this match is now a No Disqualification match! Prichard turns and heads back up the ramp as Charlotte’s eyes gleam with delight.

When the match actually begins Asuka begins by kicking at the tree trunk legs of Kharma. Asuka’s speed advantage is evident as she dodges the attempted strikes and counters Kharma time after time. Charlotte Flair jumps on the apron and the momentary distraction allows Kharma to flatten Asuka with a kick to the stomach followed by a double axe handle to the back. Then to add some more pain she steps on Asuka while holding onto the ropes until the referee reaches a four count. When Kharma moves away, Charlotte moves in, punching Asuka several times. Kharma keeps up punishing Asuka with power moves and gets a two count following an avalanche in the corner. Kharma climbs to the second rope but Asuka is up and stuns her with a punch to the gut. Asuka climbs up to the second rope as well and delivers a DDT from the second rope. Asuka makes the cover 1, 2, Charlotte puts Kharma’s foot on the rope. Asuka has had enough and goes to the outside, stalking Charlotte who is backing up and making excuses. Charlotte tries to slide into the ring but Asuka catches her foot and pulls her back out and begins laying into the Smackdown Live Women’s Champion. With Charlotte on the ground Asuka returns to the ring but as she nears her opponent, Kharma launches a knee to the gut and drops her with a headbutt. Charlotte, who appears to be bleeding from the mouth or her lip, gets back to her feet before reaching under the ring and pulling out a table. As Kharma continues her assault, Charlotte sets up the table at the foot of the ramp, shouting to Kharma to get her attention. Kharma drags Asuka by her hair closer to that side of the ring and picks her up in powerbomb position. Charlotte climbs onto the ropes and looks to assist but Asuka begins punching Kharma who staggers back. Asuka then is able to use her weight and momentum to turn it into a hurricanrana, launching Kharma into Charlotte who falls off the apron and goes through the table! Kharma staggers back and Asuka kicks her behind the knee, dropping her to one knee. Asuka plays to the crowd and hits the Asuka Kick to Kharma’s temple, putting her flat on her back. Asuka quickly moves to the top turnbuckle and flies off with an elbow drop for the win. She’s going to WrestleMania!

Winner by Pinfall: Asuka
Rating: 80

After a hard fought victory Asuka celebrates her win and locks eyes with Charlotte, who is still laying in the remnants of the table, and who looks very concerned.

A video package is shown highlighting the build to tonight’s main event, a triple threat match between Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, and Randy Orton for the WWE Championship.

Rating: 92

Quote:

The match begins with Orton slipping out as soon as the bell rings and letting Bryan and Styles go at it. The two of them out on a mini clinic back and forth. Orton picks his spot and slides in when Styles almost has Bryan in the Styles Clash and bashes AJ over the back. He then begins putting the boots to both opponents, but soon Styles and Bryan discover their common enemy and a quick partnership is formed. Orton finds himself on the end of the best of both men as both of them hit some signature moves. At one point Styles sets up Orton for a superplex but Bryan comes in and surprises them both aiding in it by turning it into a powerbomb on Styles as well. Without warning, the C.O.O. makes his way down the ramp and stands at ringside with a look of concern.

With Styles down Bryan sets his sights on Orton and begins laying what Booker informs us are now called the 3 R’s in place of the Yes Kicks. As he kicks Orton Bryan shouts a word with each kick. Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! When he’s done he begins a new cycle of kicks and chants. Bryan goes to the apron and begins climbing to the top but Orton races up to meet him and delivers a superplex. Bryan rolls out of the ring upon impact. Orton moves to AJ and picks him up, putting him on top of the ropes before climbing up. It’s clear he has another superplex in mind but AJ lays in a few right hands and with Orton stunned AJ pulls off a sunset flip powerbomb. The referee begins to count 1…...2…...Triple H pulls the referee out of the ring by his foot!

Triple H looks down at the referee and begins arguing with him. The referee seems to want to eject the C.O.O. but lacks the authority to do so. Just then Shane McMahon runs down the ramp.

Shane gets between Triple H and the referee shouting at his brother in law and asking what he’s doing. Triple H tells him not to worry about it. Shane turns to tell the referee to get back in the ring and as soon as his back is turned Triple H nails him in the back of the head. Shane stumbles but recovers and turns on Triple H firing back with his own rights and lefts. They begin fighting up the ramp and to the back with officials coming out to seperate them. AJ Styles has been watching all of this giving Randy Orton time to recover and when the referee gets back in the ring, AJ turns right into an RKO. Orton is all smiles motioning the referee over for the cover but when he turns AJ over, Daniel Bryan slides back in the ring and throws Orton over the top rope before quickly covering AJ for the win.

Winner by Pinfall and still WWE Champion: Daniel Bryan

Rating: 86

Daniel Bryan doesn’t waste time collecting his title and seems to be very pleased with himself for stealing that win but as he walks up the ramp the lights go out. The crowd begins to buzz when Finn Balor appears on the tron.

He congratulates Bryan for his win but he says at WrestleMania that will change. Balor seems to grimace in pain before his image morphs into his alter ego.

The demon tells Balor that many things will change. Suddenly the tron begins to fill with smoke at the same time smoke begins to coat the ramp. Bryan is turning in a circle looking in all directions clutching his belt as the show goes off the air.

Sasha Banks is in her locker room. She faces the camera with a stern focus. She says that Ronda Rousey is a pretender. Worse than that she’s a spoiled, entitled, pretender who is carrying out the RAW Women’s Championship that hasn’t known a real champion since she herself wore it around her waist. Tonight that comes to an end. Tonight she will teach the world why she’s the Boss.

John Cena comes out to his usual 50/50 crowd split but he seems to enjoy it. He gets in the ring and says last night he spoke from the heart when he talked about what drives him and what motivates him going into WrestleMania. Braun Strowman is the biggest challenge of his career and in three weeks he’s going to stand right in this ring and say……

Suddenly Strowman appears on the tron.

Strowman tells Cena he’ll finish that sentence. In three weeks John Cena will stand in that ring and say I couldn’t get the job done. Paul Heyman likes to call them spoilers but for the Monster among men it’s just the truth. Cena has had a great run, a hall of fame first ballot career but that doesn’t mean anything when Strowman puts him on his shoulder and drives him into that mat for the 1-2-3. In three weeks Braun Strowman will show John Cena is like everyone else when he gets….these….hands.

Cena just watches the tron as they have a long distance stare down as we go to commercial.

The new RAW Tag Team Champions the Revival are backstage with Charly Caruso. She congratulates them and they thank her. Dawson talks about how the past months the Revival have been on a journey of self awareness. They now know who to really thank for the support and belief that paid off in winning these belts last night. The guys look at each other and nod before smiling and saying ‘Ourselves!’ at the same time. Wilder says nobody believed in them except themselves. Nobody liked them except themselves. When Charly asks about some Revival chants in the crowd last night they roll their eyes and tell her that the Revival has never needed the WWE Universe and they never will. Why would the champs want the support of millions of losers living vicariously through the new RAW Tag Team Champions? They walk off with big smiles as she shakes her head.

Backstage Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins are walking with a purpose and finally find who they’re looking for.

Ziggler calls them losers which almost sets Ambrose off but Rollins calms him down. Rollins says last night they won and he can’t take that away from them but he and Dean aren’t done yet. He then challenges them to another match. McIntyre seems to find this amusing and says they’d love to embarrass Rollins and Ambrose again. Ziggler steps in and tells them they’re not feeling it tonight, they’re too busy basking in their victory. So they’ll see Dean and Seth next week and walk off.

Backstage we see Paul Heyman walking backstage and he’s on his way to the ring looking very smug.

Rating: 78

LADIES…..AND GENTLEMEN…….

Paul Heyman comes down to the ring. He introduces himself and says that for the last several weeks he has done what an Advocate should do. He’s gone through the chain of command and he’s put in front of Kurt Angle an idea so big that it would wipe any WrestleMania match off it’s pedestal. Hogan-Andre? Nothing. Michaels-Taker? Forget about it. Braun Strowman….John Cena…..BROCK LESNAR! Now that is a match! But Kurt Angle has turned a blind eye for doing what’s best for business. So tonight he is here not as an advocate he’s here as the advocate for the BEAST. Kurt Angle will come out here and he will add BROCK LESNAR to that match…..

Kurt Angle’s music hits and he comes down to the ring. Heyman backs up a few steps when Angle gets in the ring. Angle dares him to finish that sentence because it sounded like he was going to say or else. So Angle wants to make it crystal clear. There is nothing Heyman can say to make him add Lesnar to the match. Heyman’s expression softens. He holds his hands up and approaches Kurt, putting his hand over the mic but you can still hear. He’s begging Kurt to do it. He doesn’t want what’s going to happen next to occur. Heyman looks as sincere as we’ve ever seen him but Angle pulls the mic back and gives his one word answer: no.

Brock Lesnar comes out and stomps down to the ring. He gets in and Heyman approaches, trying to talk him down but he gets shoved away. Lesnar walks up to Angle who doesn’t back down. Lesnar turns his head to tell Heyman, who’s still pleading, to shut up. This draws Angle’s attention and without notice Lesnar kicks him low. Lesnar quickly picks up Angle and delivers an F5. Angle is down in a heap as Lesnar just smiles and leaves the ring with Heyman trailing behind.

Suddenly Lesnar stops and looks back at Angle. He moves past Heyman and slides back in the ring. He picks up Angle from behind and delivers a german suplex. Then another. And another. Lesnar shoves Angle out of the ring with his shoe and follows to the outside. Angle is completely defenseless as Angle picks him up on his shoulders and parades around the rind before hitting another F5 into the ringpost. Angle is barely moving if at all and officials stream down to the ring forcing a smiling Lesnar to leave.

Back from the break a replay of Brock Lesnar’s savage attack on Kurt Angle is shown. We’re told Angle has been taken by ambulance to a medical facility.

Lashley is on his feet at six, but just waves his hand dismissively, walking to the back and the referee completes his ten count.

We see a car pull out and Shane McMahon exits. He’s sporting a very visible black eye and he looks very focused. He enters the building and the door slams behind him.

Rating:73

Bankers Life Fieldhouse, Indianapolis, IN
19,000 in Attendance

Shane comes out and looks all business, yelling to kill his music. He says that this has been a long time in coming and he just wants to let his mom and dad and sister know he tried...he really tried. But there comes a time when you have to put business aside and family aside. He pauses, as if trying to settle himself down. He says he came back to the WWE and there was a lot of rumors floating around about the McMahon family dynamic, a lot of which were true. But he tried to put it aside, he tried to do what was right for Smackdown and for the WWE Universe. But one person keeps sticking his nose where it doesn’t belong. One person thinks he cut the line. And one person is responsible for what’s going to happen at Met Life Stadium. Shane says he’s had a lot of WrestleMania moments but none will be sweeter than beating the holy hell out of Triple H.

He puts the mic down and leaves the ring as we go to break.

Backstage AJ Styles is lacing his boots when he suddenly senses someone behind him and jumps, finding Randy Orton. Orton smirks and says if he wanted to RKO Styles right there he would have. But he’d rather look into the eyes of the man who knows deep down, that the Viper had him beat at Fastlane. Styles steels himself and asks Orton if he’d like to try that again tonight. Orton says there is nothing he’d love more and walks off. It seems we have our main event.

WWE Champion Daniel Bryan is in his locker room. He tells the camera that all day long people have been snickering behind his back, calling him a coward. Well he’s got news for them. He is not a coward, he’s the Planet’s Champion and just like Mother Earth he’s resilient and strong and brave. As she has battled the evils of this world like pollution and the crimes of mankind he will battle evil at WrestleMania. He will not allow himself to taste defeat at the hands of Finn Balor because Balor represents the worst of society….the WWE Universe. With their laziness and greed they destroy the planet but they will not destroy him! He’s going into WrestleMania as the WWE Champion and he’s walking out the same.

The Bar are in the ring for their non-title match against their new, but as of yet unknown opponents. That changes in a moment.

The champs don’t seem to make of Tucker and Otis but they find out quickly that their usual power advantage over opponents doesn’t exist here. Otis seems like an unmovable object as he takes the best Cesaro and Sheamus can dish out but he stands his ground. He smashes Sheamus with a running shoulder and from there we see what Heavy Machinery can do. Slick tags back and forth wear down the bar and even when Cesaro gets the tag it doesn’t matter. The end comes when Otis scoops up Cesaro and delivers a version of the World’s Strongest Slam with Tucker on his back, a move Phillips refers to as the Steamroller and they get a victory versus the Smackdown Live Tag Team Champions.

The Man is backstage. She says in 3 weeks she’s going to be the RAW Women’s Champion. Now some people may say how can you be so sure? You’re up against the baddest woman on the planet. I say she’s up against the Man! She’s going to have to beat me, no she’s going to have to kill me. Because no matter what she does, no matter how much pain she creates, I will keep getting up until I put her down. Ronnie, enjoy your last weeks as the champ because when the Man comes ‘round at WrestleMania she’s going to break your arm and she’s going to take your title.

The announcers grow somber and say that United States Champion Rey Mysterio was supposed to be here tonight but he never arrived. WWE Officials assumed he had missed his flight but then an email arrived with a video clip attached.

We see Rey Mysterio on what appears to be a video taken with a phone. He’s obviously been beaten up and appears to be in an abandoned building, like a warehouse. The camera is zoomed on him when suddenly we see a boot strike him and he grimaces in pain. Someone says ‘pick him up.’

Two men from the waist down pick up Mysterio and put him in a chair. He is barely conscious. The phone swivels and we see Andrade Almas. In the background, standing behind Mysterio are his men, Kaval and Dagan.

Andrade says that Mysterio is like a dog who has seen his best days in the past. What do you do to that dog? You put it out of its misery. But Rey doesn’t deserve such mercy because he still serves one purpose. He’s going to be the source of Andrade’s greatest victory. At WrestleMania, Rey Mysterio will defend..and lose that United States Championship to Andrade or else what has happened here….may happen again.

Andrade holds up a picture of Rey’s grown son Dominic, before throwing the picture at Rey and it bounces off his chest. Andrade motions to his men and they begin to leave but suddenly Almas turns and boots Rey in the side of the head knocking him of the chair before leaving. The video stays on Rey who just lays there until it ends.

Booker and Tom Phillips just look at each other, speechless.

Charlotte Flair is backstage pacing in her locker room as Kharma stands in the back with her arms folded. Charlotte says that most people would be worried going into WrestleMania if they knew Asuka was their opponent but most people aren’t Charlotte Flair. She’s already beaten Asuka on the biggest stage once, and now she’s looking for round two. Which only goes to show that Asuka has made the biggest mistake of her career. Last year Charlotte broke the streak. This year she’s going to break Asuka for good!

As the Miz quickly gets back into the ring Big E follows and it takes both Woods and the referee to keep him away. They’re amazed how weak and spineless Americans are, as they…..

Peyton and Billie stop in their tracks as Lacey Evans appears and wastes no time going to the ring.
