Blazing Sword Of The Immortals: A Tale Of Vengeance
OOC: So for anyone who still is interested the PSW diary is not dead. I'll try to post a show at least every other week but I've been longing to do a traditional puro diary for some time now and with the awesome BCG & WCG (pats myself on the back for creating WCG) diarys others have done I wanted to do something different. So why not try to take down BHOTWG. I can't stand them in game anyway so why not just take them out. Anyway, that's the premise here so I hope everyone enjoys it. Like others, the touring shows will be short recaps with the big events being more in depth. With that out of the way on to the show...
“My silence is not weakness but the beginning of my revenge.”
Sometime in 2014:
Kaneie Komine sat comfortably in his plush leather recliner watching sports highlights on his beloved 70 inch television. His wife never failed to remind him that it was an excessive purchase but being the avid sports fan he was he loved watching the big games on the big screen. Just about 20 minutes until opening day he thought to himself, hoping the Giants live up to their lofty expectations this season. Back when he was building Burning Hammer into the powerhouse it is today he rarely had time to catch a baseball game but since his forced early retirement he’s become quite the enthusiast.
You see Komine had amassed a significant savings during his time at the head of Japan’s most popular wrestling promotion. He was always compensated very well and despite the low point known as the Inspire crisis Komine shaped and molded the careers of some of the biggest names in pro wrestling today.
Though he wouldn’t know that, after the takeover went down and Komine found himself out of a job he also found himself downright disgusted with the business. He rarely watched any wrestling these days and aside from the occasional consulting gig he was enjoying his early retirement, kicking back and relaxing, enjoying a life free of stress.
Life is funny that way though, you think you’ve moved on from something then suddenly the past comes out of nowhere and smacks you in the face. Old memories, good and bad flash through your mind like short movie trailers. At least that’s what happened when a few minutes before the baseball game Japanese Sports Vision showed clips of the latest Burning Hammer press conference. The big announcement proclaiming that Burning Hammer would no longer be operating on a touring schedule, instead like our western counterparts, they would be adopting a full time schedule.
Disgusting! Komine thought to himself, Kitozan is probably rolling over in his grave. That weasel Kaneko never cared for tradition. He was so always so mesmerized by the “sports entertainment” aspect of the business. That’s great and all but Kaneko doesn’t realize that that just isn’t what we do in Japan. This is the house that Kitozan built and if Kaneko had his way he would spit all over the traditions both the wrestlers and fans in this great country have embraced. The more Komine thought about this the more worked up he got. Finally in a moment of zen he calmed himself. That’s not my problem anymore he thought, it’s no longer my battle to fight.
At least that’s what he thought. Unfinished business has a funny way of creeping back up into your life and unpaid debts often times become available to collect just when you thought you would never see a penny. Everything changed when a couple days later Komine received a call from a very unexpected guest.
Komine: “This is Kaneie Komine who is this and how did you get my number?"
Packer: “Mr. Komine, it’s a pleasure to meet you. This is Allen Packer, owner of Reverie, the largest subscription based broadcaster in the world. I also own this wrestling company called USPW, you might have heard of them.”
Komine: “Hello Mr. Packer, yes I am familiar with USPW. The one western company that kenw how to embrace tradition if I remember correctly.”
Packer: “You are right about that. We here at USPW are all about our traditional wrestling. Leave that sports entertainment crap to the SWF.”
Komine: “I applaud you for sticking to your principles but I just don’t get many callers since my retirement so let’s cut to the chase. Why are you calling someone like me? You’ve mentioned your wrestling company so you have to know that I am no longer in the business.”
Packer: “Well Mr. Komine, that’s exactly why I’m calling. You see, we are ready to launch Reverie East and we fully understand that pro wrestling is extremely popular in Japan. The problem is USPW is not…
Popular that is.”
Komine: “I understand that sir but again, what is it you want me for? I can do some consulting for you but it would take a long time to get USPW to the same level here they are in the states and a significant change in product would have to be made.”
Packer: “Well hell Komine, that’s exactly why i’m calling you. Not to help me with USPW that is, but to help me build a new company, from scratch. You see I don’t want to bring USPW to Japan, I want to create a Japanese wrestling company to be the flagship program on Reverie East. and I want to create a company that can eventually take out Burning Hammer. Everyone knows you built that company, not Kaneko.”
Komine: “That is quite an offer but I’m not sure you realize what you are up against. Burning Hammer is a relative juggernaut in the industry. They have deep pockets and a very large fanbase. I am flattered you think so highly of me but I’m not sure you realize the resources that you would need to go head to head with them.”
Packer: :Well I’m not sure you realize exactly who I am Mr. Komine. I’ve got billions at my disposal, that's right billions with a b, Burning Hammer has millions. Last I checked billions beat millions every time.
Just to show you how serious I am, check your bank account. I had my associates wire you a starter fund. Go ahead and check it. That will show you how serious I am.”
Komine logs into his bank account quickly on his cell phone and sees a recent deposit for fifty million dollars.
Komine: “Fifty million, that’s quite a starter fund. I’m honestly blown away. I don’t quite know what to say.”
Packer: “Just say yes, Say yes and go out and assemble the best roster you could possibly put together. Any contacts you have with the talent over at Burning Hammer would be helpful as well, I’m sure there are a few guys over there that are loyal to you. Then think about how you want to run the company, your schedule, all that stuff. I’m just the bank, this is your baby.”
Komine: “If that’s the case then how could I say no. I’ve longed to put Kaneko in his place. I’ll start by stealing some of his precious talent away, then I’ll really get his blood boiling when we start putting on better shows.
I just need one thing from you and that is your full commitment to pursuing this. This will be a long game and I need to know you are in it for the duration.”
Packer: “Well you do what you need to do. You have my full commitment to this. I hand picked you for a reason. Now let’s get to work and kick their ass!”
Komine: “I will do everything in my power to make it so!”
Packer: “Great! My legal team will get contracts over to you. Let them handle the paperwork with any talent you want to bring on and work with my marketing and PR teams to get a press conference scheduled when the time is right. Just make sure it’s before we launch Reverie East. We need to let Burning Hammer and the rest of the world know we are out for blood!”
Komine: “Thank you Packer-san, I won’t let down.”
To be continued...

Blazing Sword Of The Immortals Opening Press Conference
Live and On Demand On
Everything about the initial press conference was a success. The set up, the production, everything was executed perfectly by Packer’s team. These guys really know what they are doing, Komine said to himself. The event was hosted by Seiho Kuroda, who despite his time with Inspire has always been someone he has considered a dear friend.
Kuroda: “First of all I would like to thank everyone for coming out and all of the fans watching live on Reverie East. We are very excited to go on this journey with all of you and we know we couldn’t do it without the support of fans as well as you members of the media.
An undertaking this big is somewhat unheard of in our business but thanks to the financial backing and unconditional support from Mr. Allen Packer and the brilliant mind Kaneie Komine has for the business we have the utmost confidence that Blazing Sword Of The Immortals cna and will be successful.
Now without further ado, let me introduce the brains and the bank behind the operation. Mr. Allen Packer and Mr. Kaneie Komine.”
A small round of applause echoes throughout the media room as Allen Packer and Kaneie Komine make their way to the long table at the front of the room.
Packer: “Let me start off by saying how excited I am for the launch of Reverie East and also how excited I am to be venturing into the wrestling business in Japan. In my opinion Japan and The United States are the two meccas for pro wrestling and Reverie is very proud to now represent both markets.
Now I could sit up here and go on and on about the respect and admiration I have for this man beside me but everyone who's anyone knows he has a great mind for the business and has already seen the peaks of success with one company. I am 100% confident he can do that again.
I’ll shut my trap now and give Mr. Komine an opportunity to say a few words, but one last thing…
Burning Hammer! We are coming for you and we are going to kick your butts!”
The crowd seems to be taken aback a little by the brashness of Allen Packer, but you don’t get to become a billionaire without the confidence to do so. Komine let’s out a quiet chuckle as he hears his final comment.”
Komine: “First off I would like to thank both Allen Packer being one of the best business partners I’ve ever had and also Seiho Kuroda for being a most gracious host. I guess the first order of business would be to let all of you know that we have formally signed Seiho Kuroda to be our lead play by play man so everyone gets used to hearing his voice again. Seiho belongs in the booth and it’s been far too long since he’s done what he does best and we are thankful to have him on the team.
We are still working on finishing off the roster and that information will be released soon but we do have a staff in place and it’s a very good staff indeed.
Before I introduce them I will let all of you know that you will be seeing a lot more of me because along with running the company and booking duties I will also be an on screen personality. I can honestly admit that I am very excited to have an on air role and can’t wait to get started.
While we are at it let me go ahead and introduce you to the two men that will be making sure we give you the best quality matches possible, our backstage agents and two good friends of mine, Dark Eagle and Sadakuno Nishimuraya.”
Both men walk out and greet the crowd, eventually having a seat at the long table with the others.
Komine: “I would also like to formally introduce Kuroda’s partner in the booth, Ryuzaburo Sugiyama as well as our two referees; Akikazu Miyagi and Yasuyuki Terakado. All three of these men bring a wealth of experience to our new company and we are very lucky to have them as part of the team.”
Like the two agents all three men walk out and greet the crowd, taking a seat at the long table.
Komine: “And finally a man that needs no introduction and a very close friend of mine; our on air matchmaker; the man, the myth the legend; Bruce The Giant!”
Bruce comes out to the loudest ovation of the day. The usually subdued and respectful Japanese crowd were unusually loud and gave the man the ovation he deserved. It’s been awhile since any wrestling fan had seen him and the fans in attendance were clearly happy to have him back in Japan.
Bruce: “Wow, what can I say, I’m absolutely flattered at the warm reception. It’s been far too long since I’ve been in a wrestling ring and I am excited to provide you with the best matchups possible. I can’t wait to get to work!”
Komine: “Well it seems like you guys are happy with our staff choices. I won’t spoil too much of the roster for you but I will reveal to you one of our signings. And what a singing it was. This man is another good friend of mine and a great worker in his own right. When I first spoke with him he jumped at the opportunity to work together. I don’t want to stir up too much gossip but let’s just say that he wasn’t necessarily happy with his treatment over at Burning Hammer. Well Burning Hammer’s loss is Blazing Swords gain! Ladies and gentlemen, BSOTI’s very first signing…
The Modern Day Warrior, Eisaku Hoshino!!!!”
Hoshino comes out to a resounding round of applause. He walks over to the table and grabs a mic suddenly some very familiar music hits….
NEO rushes out and proceeds to furiously beat down Hoshino. As Ino looks on with glee, Taira and Masuno both hoist up Hoshino and drive him through the long table where the entire BSOTI staff were sitting.
The feed cuts with NEO standing tall over a prone Hoshino.

This is actually a pretty cool idea. I've always played around with the idea of Komine taking over GCG because of his old friendship with Haruki Kudo, or Burning Hammer launching a USA division to bring them back down to earth a bit, but the idea of Komine finding new backers and launching a new 1:1 promotion is pretty cool, especially after HINOTE Dojo closed and left a few guys on the market to help core the roster with.
Here is the product settings I'm using. Very similar to Burning Hammer but a little heavier on the pure and mainstream is set to low so I can run a few angles here and there.

I love a good puro diary and I'm very interested to see this project come to fruition! I love the logo and belts (probably going to save them in case I want to add this company to my own data!)
