WWF RAW is WAR, March 1997, Week Two
Attendance: 14,281 at NY Madison Square Garden
Commentary Team: Jim Ross & Jerry Lawler

Quote:

We welcome you live to the historic Madison Square Garden for another exciting edition of WWF RAW is WAR! JR & Lawler run down the card for tonight before Bret Hart makes his way down to the ring with a microphone. Bret says that tonight he faces someone who has been a major thorn in The Kliq's side over the past few months, 'The Loose Cannon' Brian Pillman. Bret says that Pillman is nothing more than a bump in his road to Wrestlemania, where he will finally vanquish Owen Hart once and for all! Before Bret can continue...

Brian Pillman interrupts him!

Pillman appears on the screen and says that Bret Hart should shut his damn mouth! Pillman says that he, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Owen Hart, and The Undertaker are going to take down The Kliq individually at Wrestlemania 13, but tonight, he's going to start a bit early when he kicks Bret Hart's ass! Pillman finishes by saying that Bret's rule at the top of the WWF is coming to an end, in no small part because of Brian Freakin' Pillman!

w/ VS
Mike Awesome w/Paul Heyman vs Steve Corino
Awesome made his debut last week on RAW where he attacked The Bodydonnas, costing them their match against The Franchise Players. This match is nothing more than a squash match that Awesome completely dominates. Awesome finishes off Corino in just under five minutes after hitting him with the Awesome Bomb.
WINNER: Mike Awesome

Quote:

After the match is over, the rest of Extreme Rising make their way down to the ring to congratulate Mike Awesome on his victory. Paul Heyman grabs a microphone, but before he can talk...

*BOOM*

Kane makes his way down to the ring!

Kane, who is sporting a brand new mask, is making his first appearance in almost a month after being brutally attacked by Extreme Rising before Rampage. Kane immediately goes after Norton & Taz, taking them out with ease. The Franchise Players try to double team Kane, but Kane grabs them both by the throat and hits them with a double chokeslam! Mike Awesome and Paul Heyman flee through the crowd as Kane lifts his arms up and pyro explodes from the ring posts. Kane stares down Heyman & Awesome as we go to commercials.

VS
Jushin Thunder Liger vs George South
Liger was last seen on Action Zone, where he defeated Sabu. This match is nothing more than a squash match that Liger completely dominates. Liger finishes off South in just under five minutes after he hits him with the Shooting Star Press.
WINNER: Jushin Thunder Liger

WRESTLEMANIA 13

LIVE FROM THE TRANS WORLD DOME IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI ON SUNDAY MARCH 30TH!

Quote:

We're back from commercials and Vince McMahon is talking to Madusa in his office. Madusa tells Vince that she is sick and tired of dealing with Etsuko Mita and Manami Toyota. Madusa says that she's beaten them both, so neither woman really deserves a title shot. Vince interrupts and says that both women have made fine cases about getting a title match. Vince says that Madusa will only be facing one of them at Wrestlemania 13 and that will be determined next week when Mita takes on Toyota, the winner will face Madusa for the WWF Women's Championship at Wrestlemania! Madusa thinks about it and finishes by saying that it doesn't matter who wins, because they will get destroyed at Wrestlemania.

VS
Eddie Guerrero vs Scott Steiner
Eddie was last seen on Action Zone last week when he defeated Savio Vega. Meanwhile, Steiner was last seen on RAW two weeks ago when he & The Bodydonnas defeated Extreme Rising. This match is a good match and the crowd is solidly behind Steiner. Eddie starts the match off by attempting a lariat, but Scott catches him and hits him with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Scott throws Eddie into the corner and hits him with a knife edge chop. Scott attempts a military press slam, but Eddie reverses it into a hurricanrana. Eddie goes to the top rope and hits Scott with a moonsault. Eddie attempts a German suplex, but Scott reverses it into a snapmare. The match comes to an end when Scott tries locking Eddie in the Steiner Recliner, but before he can...

Mike Awesome runs down to the ring!

Eddie Guerrero starts distracting referee Jack Doan while Awesome hits Steiner with a stiff big boot. Eddie then goes to the top rope and hits Scott with the Frog Splash! Eddie covers Steiner and gets the three.
WINNER: Eddie Guerrero

Quote:

After that match is over, Vince & Shane McMahon make their way down to the ring. Vince says that last week he promised a huge announcement for Wrestlemania 13 and tonight he's going to deliver it. Vince says that he has had enough of Goldust interfering with his duties, so at Wrestlemania, he's going to shut him up for good! Vince says that at Wrestlemania 13, he & Shane McMahon will enter the ring to face Goldust in a Street Fight! Vince says that there is a catch, the winner/winners of the match will gain control of RAW is WAR! Vince finishes by saying that Goldust will get what he deserves in a few weeks.

Money In The Bank Qualifier Match
VS
Chris Benoit vs Rob Van Dam
Benoit was last seen on RAW a few weeks ago when he defeated Steve Corino. Meanwhile, RVD was last seen on Superstars last week when he defeated Mike Sharpe. This match is a good match and the crowd is solidly behind RVD. RVD and Benoit start the match off with a collar and elbow tie-up, in which Benoit hits RVD with a belly to belly suplex. Benoit goes to the top rope and attempts a diving headbutt, but RVD rolls out of the way and hits Benoit with a senton. RVD throws Benoit into the corner and hits him with an enzuigiri. RVD rolls off the ropes with a Rolling Thunder and hits Benoit with a senton. RVD then drags Benoit into the corner and hits him with a split-legged moonsault. The match comes to an end when RVD goes to the top rope and attempts the Five Star Frog Splash, but before he can hit it...

Triple H runs down to the ring and shoves him off the top rope!

Benoit takes advantage of this and locks RVD in the Crippler Crossface! RVD tries reaching for the ropes, but eventually passes out from the pain.
WINNER: Chris Benoit

Quote:

After that match is over, we cut to a darkened room where Raven is located. Raven says that he has seen Cactus Jack go through most of The Flock and he is very impressed. Raven says that Cactus Jack still has one more man to go through, 'The Fallen Angel' Christopher Daniels. Raven says that only if Cactus Jack defeats Daniels, then he can get to him, quoth the Raven, nevermore.

Quote:

Regal starts going crazy with the chair, hitting all four men with it. Regal then hoists his WWF Intercontinental Championship high in the air as we go to commercials.

Quote:

Meanwhile, Pillman was last seen on Superstars where he & 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin defeated The Samoan Studs. This match is a great match and the crowd is solidly behind Pillman. Bret and Pillman start the match off with a collar and elbow tie-up, in which Bret hits Pillman with a belly to belly suplex. Bret throws Pillman into the corner and hits him with a knife edge chop. Given that I know the Mania plans I'll excuse myself from the remaining prediction contests, but I'm pumped for RAW.
