Ooh, hot damn! Even with a whole year to go (minimum, likely) this is exciting news. Looking forward to the journal already.

Happy Christmas to us all!

Hey now! I'm excited, man.

I must admit. The next TEW was going to be the first in the series where I was ready to state that if it's simply written on top of the previous one, and doesn't include some major changes and improvements - especially to UI - I wouldn't be sure if I was going to be buying.

Happy to read that this an ambitious project. And I don't mean that negatively - it's just that TEW 2016 has been serving me quite well, and the things I'm not happy with would probably require a brand new approach to things.

I remember reading a post from Adam where he stated that in the next TEW, he was looking to completely rework the way popularity works, and that has me excited. I do think "popularity" as it stands in TEW 2016 doesn't quite reflect the wrestling business.

I've fallen off the wagon as a wrestling fan since the release of the last game, but I always check out these forums daily in hopes for an announcement of the next TEW game.

I think I can agree with you on the popularity aspect, it has gotten better over the years but it's not as good. I can imagine popularity for a wrestler being linked to their momentum as well as your company level. So then, the goal is always to keep a wrestler's momentum going to get them to be stars but also their storyline successes. At the same time, I don't know how that would affect angles. I am definitely excited to see what he does.

I love you.

Also my wife will thank you for not releasing this game until after I defend my dissertation.

I was futzing around with Carlzilla's "Random Wrestler Generator" mod for Fire Pro World last night, and it got me thinking about that one Watcher game mod (some quick checking...ah yes, the Organic Effverse mod!) where it starts at like the dawn of wrestling, and other than the bare minimum necessary amount of workers made to properly start the game, the entire universe of that mod consists of Randomly Generated Workers.

And it got me to thinking: WHAT IF, for TEW 2020, you could set the YEAR (or even specific MONTH of a given year) that a given region starts randomly generating wrestlers? And even being able to micro-manage THAT, by setting what amount of wrestlers get generated that year, but then change the amount that gets generated on a later year, etc, to kind of match the "trends" of wrestler generation in the world for that mod?

Like, take the real world for example: pro wrestlers were mainly generated by the United States, and mainly starting at roughly the 1890's/1900's; then wrestlers started getting generated in Mexico sometime in the 1920's/1930's; British wrestlers started getting generated in, what, the 40's or 50's or something; Japanese wrestlers started getting generated in the 50's/60's; and so on, and so forth.

So, what if in TEW2020, you could set a Random Wrestler Generation "Start Date" (and "Starting Amount") per region?
And also be able to set a different amount of generation at a later date (via adding a few extra rows in the window where you do it)?

I recall in 2013/2016 being able to set the start date for random generation, but only as an all-around whole-world thing, rather than being able to set starting date per region.

I'm super stoked about this, always been a fan going back to EWD, and after reading the massive undertaking you've done t make this the biggest and best TEW I am even more excited. Thank you Adam fr making a series of games that I've been able to enjoy for almost 20 years and have been a constant thing in my life during some very unconstant moments.

Maybe this will motivate me to play 16 more, because I was really hoping to get to 10 years in my save, but I'm only on year 3 lol

This is great news. I've been working hard on my skin, so I'll try and have that out in a few weeks so that it has some time to be used. Then I guess I'll see what the skinning is like for TEW2020.

Great news! My wish list includes :

1) Full screen mode
2) Tournaments--round robin "G1" style, as well as regular bracket style for singles, tags, and trios.
3) STEAM availability.
4) A built in DOTT or similar real world 80s-ish mod
5) a blood option--specify who bleeds, to what degree, or ban blood entirely.

I'll be buying this as soon as it's released. I've played every version of TEW and it just keeps getting better.
