Hello! I thought now, with Wrestling Summit IV in the books and some new readers looking to jump in, I would post the full roster and their pushes, gimmicks, and gimmick ratings. You'll notice that Bulldozer Brandon is gone -- he signed with PGHW right before Wrestling Summit IV -- thus his loss to Ian Identity. I hope everyone has had a great holiday. I'm back from my mini-vacation and should be producing some content this week. There are a couple of narratives I want to write and get up before we get to the next show(s). I also want to give a special shout out to willr0ck, because he made brand new trophies for the RMW tournaments -- and they are wonderful

GSW had closed -- so I picked up a couple of their guys. I was going to bring in Brown Pride, State of Destruction, Fro Sure, Lil Henry and bring back El Mitico Jr. who had been with them since his year with South of the Border didn’t pan out. This would help me with the loss of KC Glenn to Burning Hammer, Bulldozer Brandon Smith to Pride Glory and Honor, Cameron Vessey to WLW,, and now Big Bruiser Findlay to TCW and Casey Valentine to SWF. North of the Border had just risen back to Cult status, so I was pretty sure they would be leaving the COTT soon. Fortunately, we had a working agreement with them, so hopefully we would be okay. They had already signed Jay Chord to a written deal -- beating out the American heavyweights for their new Main Event heel. They were also hot on Brett Starr, Killer Kass, and both Matt and Greg Keith who had been in Japan. Greg had been let go earlier this month and just hadn’t landed anywhere yet -- looks like he’d be in North of the Border with his brother who was in a hot negotiations between both Burning Hammer and the Stones.

If the Stones got aggressive and came for some of their former talent I had -- I could be in trouble. The House of Stone made up a lot of my middle of the card babyfaces -- and the guys I was bringing in from GWC were, for the most part, heels. El Mitico and Fro Sure were both babyfaces. I suppose I could make Lil Henry a babyface too -- but I like the idea of him and State of Destruction being big destructive heels to make up for the monsters we had lost.

I was also trying to bring in James Prudence -- he was not offered a contract extension this time around with SWF. With Donnie J still unsigned by any major company, the Fly Boys could reunite in Rocky Mountain Wrestling and be big time babyfaces for me -- which I need with the loss of Glenn, Smith, and Findlay and the heel turn of McManus. It would provide me some more depth to play with. My roster probably has too many people on it, honestly, but they don’t all get used every month and it allows me to consistently restock the shelves when the bigger companies come calling.

Can't tell if you are ready for Acid to go full gatekeeper yet but from what I can tell Blue Tiger isn't ready to step out yet.

I could see Brown Pride winning, but I think they just are here to fill out numbers. No way are they popular enough to take out your homegrown furries.

Siaki is a great pickup and can do wonders for a Samoan stable in the future.

Hmm Toma could be the pick (esp if he's aligned with Siaki and the other Samoans) but given his unheralded opening match debut I assume he's on heavy time decline and just here to give some guys a rub.

[Post RMW Live #15]

Franklin Rush pushed through the curtain and was immediately wrapped in the sizeable arms of the Los Angeles-bound Findlay O’Farraday -- Big Bruiser Findlay. The big Georgian grappler lifted Rush into the air in a bear hug that -- if he wanted to break some ribs with -- he could. Fin set Franklin down on the ground and looked down at the smaller man.

“Carry the torch well, kid.” That’s all Fin said. It’s all he needed to say. He turned and headed towards the showers and Franklin ran his fingers through his sweaty blonde hair and looked at the Can Am Championship that had fallen to the floor in the bear hug. He picked it up and wiped it off. He had worked hard for this. He was the second graduate of the Rocky Mountain School of Wrestling. Sandwiched in between Jakob Yoder and Jared Peterson and Clyde Puder. Sandwiched between two titans and one guy who was a mess up.

Franklin was the workhorse. He had sweat and paid every due to get here. His first title defense. He had beaten Clyde in March so that Clyde could make the main roster. He was now the guy on RMW Live. It was his show to carry. He moved through the locker room area. He had a long drive ahead of him to get back to his home. They were running further away from Denver now -- though he had heard they should have a newly rennovated Oxford Arena to run out of again. Tonight was supposed to be the last show of the contract with this building.

Rush made his way to his locker. He set the belt down on the chair in front of it and stretched his back. He was riding with Bison tonight -- but Bison was already out at the car. He was anal about making sure he checked the tires, the fluids -- everything -- before the car ever started. That was fine with Franklin. Meant he could shower and change in peace. Robert wasn’t here tonight -- Joel ran this show and Joel came by to slap the pay enevelope against Rush’s chest. “Good work, kid.”

That’s all Joel said and that’s all he needed to say. Franklin was a professional now. He was doing what he loved, getting paid to do it -- and more importantly, he was getting respect for his abilities. This was his dream -- and he was getting to live it.

Riley McManus fills up the screen on the video. The Rocky Mountain Wrestling Heavyweight Championship is draped over his shoulder. The image is tight on him. Behind him, all the viewers can see is the Rocky Mountain Wrestling logo.

“At Wrestling Summit IV, I reclaimed my place at the top of the Mountain here. I reclaimed my rightful place as Champion here and cemented my statement that I am the cornerstone of this organization. I’ve been told it may have rubbed some people the wrong way. There may be some guys that are unhappy with what I did. I’ll be honest. I don’t care. I didn’t do it for them. I did it for me. I did it for number one. I did it for the guy who deserves to be taken care of. Riley McManus.”

McManus pauses and switches the championship from one shoulder to the other.

“I’ve been told that I’m going to defend my championship at the Oxford Invitational later this month. I’m going to have to put it on the line -- despite the fact I don’t think anyone here is worthy to have a title shot -- I’m a fighting Champion. So I’ll get in that ring… But I won’t be getting in there alone. Oh no. I know that I need to make sure that I have someone watching my back. Someone making sure no one tries to take advantage of me. I need… an insurance policy…”

The camera pulls back and shows that standing just behind Riley off to the right is a massive man. He’s got to be at least six feet eight inches and over three-hundred pounds…

“This man is my insurance policy. My new bodyguard. Jeffrey Aroma. He’ll be with me from now on -- to make sure none of the fans put their dirty hands on me, to make sure none of these other wrestlers try to take liberties with me. ‘Cause I’m the Champion...And I deserve to be protected -- and I know this company won’t protect me, so I’m going to have to do it myself..”

End...

Quote:
I've got to thank King_Bison for his incredible worker on "The Insurance Policy" Jeffrey Aroma -- a dojo graduate who will be filling the role of bodyguard to The Cornerstone! He captured my Mister Hughes/Hernandez vibe perfectly!

Oh yeah, the good old "bodyguard" trope is a favorite of mine. Also, nice to see Franklin evolve into a cornerstone of RMW Live. Seeing the dojo graduates developing into decent workers is one of the best feelings while playing the game.

Question: this Jeffrey guy is a regen or a dojo graduate?
