We are just six nights away from the hottest event of the summer......we are just six nights away from a landscape changing event.....we are just six nights away.....from Summerslam....and TONIGHT, we're opening the show to a cacophony of boos......because The Hart Foundation are making their way down to the ring, along with their regular running mates Chris Jericho, and the bodyguard Test.....and Bret Hart does not look happy.....in fact to quote Jim Ross, he looks even more of a sourpuss than usual.....

....the four men soak up the boo's, with Jericho seemingly oblivious to them as he jumps up and down posing for his less than adoring public, before the Hitman takes a microphone, telling everyone to sit down and shut up if they want to hear what he has to say......obviously they don't....because the jeers come even louder, coupled with a loud USA chant that makes Bret scowl even harder, before he finally just decides to talk over them.....

"......you know, I've never been much of a braggart.....and I'm certainly not not to say I told you so......but for months now I've been telling you morons that EVERYONE in the World Wrestling Federation is out to screw me over, ESPECIALLY all your little heroes......the Kevin Nash's, the Scott Hall's.....the Scott Steiner's......but the worst of the bunch.....the biggest lowlife here in the WWF, is Stone Cold Steve Austin.....and he proved it again last week......"

.....that comment invokes a loud "Austin" chant from the crowd, which Bret says just proves his point......

"......you people......you American jack-off's, you're nothing but hypocrites.....oh you're quick to jump down MY throat.....down Owens throat, the second we so much as look at somebody.....but Stone Cold Steve Austin can come out here and cost ME a win over the WWF Champion, and you all practically wet your pants in excitement.....last week, Steve Austin SCREWED me out of the chance to become the man around here.......I was going to take that non-title win, throw it in Vince McMahon's face and DEMAND a WWF Title shot.....but yet again, it's the same thing that's been happening since Wrestlemania XII, I get screwed....and nobody does a damn thing about it......."

......Bret says that's fine, because Summerslam is this Sunday, and it's set to be a great night for Canadians everywhere.....Owen Hart is going to walk out with the Intercontinental Championship.....Chris Jericho is going to walk out the LAST Light Heavyweight Champion......

"......and as for me, I'm going to beat the living hell out of Stone Cold Steve Austin at his own game, in a no holds barred, anything goes match.....but that's Sunday night......THIS is tonight.....and if Steve Austin has any guts at all, he'll walk down that aisle right now and face me like a man......"

......Jim Ross says that Bret is a real brave man, calling out Austin when its four on one, Austin would have to have a death wish to answer this challenge.....Rude however simply says that Owen, Jericho and Test are there for moral support, to cheer the Hitman on.....not that it will matter, because Stone Cold is too much of a coward to answer that challenge.......

.....well if there's one thing Steve Austin ISN'T it's a coward.......he might be slightly stupid however, because there are four men in that ring.....and if you believe Rick Rudes claims that Owen, Jericho and Test are just there for moral support then you'll believe anything.....

.......he marches down to ringside and grabs a microphone from the commentary table....he doesn't get in the ring just yet however, instead telling the Hitman that at Summerslam, he's gonna take his little pink and black ass and beat him like the jackass he is.....

"......see what you need to know son, is that when it comes to whipping your ass, enough is never going to be enough.......I'm gonna whip your ass at Summerslam.....stomp a mudhole in you on Raw......put this boot right between your beady little eyes on Superstars.....you name the time and the place, and I'll be there whipping your ass.......just like I'm gonna do right now......"

......with that Austin tosses the microphone to one side, picks up a steel chair and slides into the ring.....where he's descended upon before he can even get to his feet, as the four men already in the ring begin to stomp him into the mat.....Rude says that this was just a stupid decision by Austin, proving what a dumb redneck he really is......Jericho drags Austin to his feet, but showing why they call him the toughest S.o.B in the WWF, Austin shoves him off before kicking the advancing Test in the gut and dropping him with the Stone Cold Stunner......Jericho charges but gets backdropped over the top rope to the floor, followed in swift fashion by Owen Hart, who Stone Cold sidesteps before tossing him to the outside....Bret looks to make a move, but Austin quickly picks up the steel chair and the Hitman decides to beat a hasty retreat, joining his compadres on the outside......

.....Austin is egging all four men to get back in the ring, but the sight of a chair wielding Stone Cold is enough for them to decide to head to the back, with Bret telling Austin that if he wants a fight so bad, he's got one.......later.......when he can go one on one.....with Test.....before the group turn and head to the back, leaving Austin to toast the crowd with a few Steveweisers as we await our first match.

And that first match features the British Bulldog facing off against Nation of Domination member Kama, just six days ahead of his Summerslam clash with Nation leader Faarooq and Owen Hart, where Davey will be looking to claim the Intercontinental Championship for a third time.....speaking of Faarooq, he's out to accompany his Nation brother for this one, although he spends a good portion of the match on the commentary table, where he hypes up all of the Nation's Summerslam matches, while being sure to mention the unfairness of the stipulations involved in both the Rock and Scorpios Title defences, as well as the attempt by "the man" to get that Intercontinental Championship away from him, by forcing him to defend his title against two men......

......Davey Boy will be looking to pick up a victory here, giving him some momentum heading into Sunday night....and he looks as though he's going to pick up the win too.....especially when he throws Kama up onto his shoulder, looking for that Running Powerslam.....which is when Faarooq flys off the commentary table and hooks the Bulldogs ankle, allowing Kama to wriggle free.....The Bulldog and the official both turn to tell Faarooq to get the hell away from ringside.....which is why they don't notice Kama picking up the Intercontinental Championship that Faarooq had slid into the ring.......he nails the Bulldog right in the back of the head with the gold belt, before tossing the title to the outside and making the cover, just as the official turns around to register the three count.....not a good night for the Bulldog, who's going to have to have eyes in the back of his head if he wants to pick up the Intercontinental Championship at Summerslam.

From there we head to the back, where Dok Hendrix is standing by with Dude Love....who in just six short days will be facing off against the Corporate Cannon Brian Pillman....and if you believe anything Pillman says, The Dude has no chance of victory in his current tie-dyed incarnation.....and as Dok points out, if last week is anything to go by, Pillman might just be right, because it was the Cannon pinning the Dude's shoulders to the mat for the one, two, three......

".....well Dok baby, while that fact may be true, you have to look at the big picture daddy-o.....did Brian Pillman pin the Dude last week? You're damn right he did, there's no denying it.....but tell me this Dok, did it take Shawn Michaels kicking the Dude straight in his pearly whites first? A Shawn Michaels that wasn't even in the match? You're damn skippy hippy.....and at Summerslam, I'd say Mr. Heartbreak Kid himself is gonna have his hands too full with a certain seven foot Kevin Nash to be sticking his nose....or his foot.....in the Dude's business......"

......the Dude tells Dok to rest assured, because his main man Big Sexy will be making sure that Shawn Michaels gets his just desserts......while the Dude shows Brian Pillman, that he doesn't need chairs or barbed wire boards to take him down a peg or two......because the Summer of Love is coming.....and it's starting at Summerslam......

"......Owwwwww, Have Mercy........"

......which is when Brian Pillman smashes a steel chair across the back of the Dude out of nowhere....and as Hendrix bids a hasty retreat, he proceeds to bend the steel in half as he crashes it again and again over the fallen form of the Dude, before finally throwing it angrily across the room with that maniacal wide eyed stare, practically frothing at the mouth as he unleashes a series of kicks......

"......have mercy? HAVE MERCY?....that's exactly the reason you can't win this war Foley.....mercy is for the weak......mercy is for the coward......mercy is overrated......and I have no mercy to give.......this isn't a Summer of Love......it's a Summer of Hate......of Pain.....of Suffering......and for those unwashed masses that chant your name like the Pavlovian Sheep that they are.....a Summer of Disappointment......and after I shatter your illusions at Summerslam, and as you crawl home to your family a broken man......Daddy's little girl is going to be begging for the 'Bad Man' to come back.......because he might be scary.....but at least he isn't a pathetic embarrassment of a father like the tie-dyed loser she has now......I'll see you Sunday Mick......"

......with that Pillman gives the Dude another stiff kick to the ribs, before walking off.....as a disgusted sounding Jim Ross sends us to commercial.

Last week Psycho Sid took on (and defeated) the Flock's Fallen Angel, Christopher Daniels.....but it was the aftermath of the match that was the most surprising, because not only did Daniels directly disobey his masters orders (by refusing to attack Sid post match) he also delivered a second cardinal sin, when he actually offered Sid a handshake as a show of respect....

......Sid will be facing the master of the macabre, Raven at Summerslam.....and has put his WWF career on the line in the process......Raven on the other hand has agreed to disband the Flock should Sid manage to defeat him, with Jake Roberts desperate to atone for his previous sins, he will be in the corner of the big man, claiming that the Flock are an albatross around Raven's neck, not only preventing THEM from fulfilling their full potential, but Raven too......and it's two members of that Flock that Jake and Sid will be going up against tonight, when they face the Dogs of War, Wrath and Crush.....although much like Christopher Daniels, these two seem to be starting to see that Raven perhaps doesn't have their best interests at heart after all.....and in fact, appear to be wondering if a life AWAY from the Flock might be more beneficial to their careers......

.....much like last week, Raven accompanies his two men to the ring....although unlike last week, he's not alone....because he's bought Daniels and DeMott out with him too.....although truth be told, Raven at ring side tonight (much like in Daniels match against Sid) is more of a hindrance than a help, because he's so focused on the Dogs picking up a victory here, that he actually ends up COSTING them the win, because when Wrath takes his eye off his opponent to tell Raven to quit barking orders, Sid is able to catch him and stick him with a Powerbomb that is enough to grant him (and Jake) the victory.

Winner(s): Psycho Sid & Jake Roberts
Rating: B+

Raven is furious with the Dogs defeat.....screaming at both Wrath and Crush that they let him down.....that they were failures when he met them and they will continue to be failures until they fully submit to Ravens will.....he tells them to show him why they are HIS Dogs of War, throwing a chair into the ring and telling them to unleash hell.....Crush checks on his partner, who nods that he's ok, before picking up the steel chair.....and tossing it back towards Raven.....who looks on in horror as much like with Daniels last week, Wrath and Crush offer a hand to Sid and Jake in a show of respect, before the two Dogs turn and walk to the back, leaving Raven standing in shock......

.....he turns to Daniels, telling HIM to get in there and assault the pair....but Daniels turns and follows the Dogs of War to the back, as Raven watches the Flock crumble before his very eyes....and Jim Ross comments that the way things are going, Raven won't even HAVE a Flock to wager this coming Sunday......

.....only DeMott remains, thus far the most loyal of all Raven's Followers.....and Raven tries one more time.....telling the giggling big man to get in there and prove his worth....DeMott certainly looks hesitant.....but at least that is more to do with the trepidation of climbing into the ring with a fired up Psycho Sid than it is to do with wanting to disobey his master.....and somewhat reluctantly he does slide under the bottom rope....charging at Sid.....who instantly drops him with a big boot.....before dragging him to his feet and tossing him to the Snake, who delivers that Short Arm Clothesline that has always been the set up for the DDT.....

......Raven screams at Roberts not to do it......telling him that the DDT is his now......but Jake isn't listening.....and as the crowd chant for his signature move, he picks up DeMott.....and DDT's him straight into the mat.....and as Sid unceremoniously rolls Bill to the outside (where he lands at Raven's feet) Jim Ross declares that it looks as though Summerslam could be a very long night for Raven......and a very bad night for the fate of the Flock.

We head to the back now, where Dok Hendrix is standing by with one half of our Summerslam WWF Tag Team Title match, Al Snow, Chris Candido and Harlem Heat.....who will be competing in a fatal four way match this Sunday against the teams of Edge and Christian and the New Age Outlaws......the winners walk out as Champions.....while the losing team walks out of the WWF altogether, because they will be fired......Dok says that's Sunday though......tonight it will be Booker T teaming up with Al Snow, to face off against the combination of the Road Dogg Jesse James and his partner for the evening, Edge......Booker T goes to speak, but Al Snow cuts him off, telling Dok that......

".....that's right Betty.....and tonight, I just can't wait to be a member of Harlem Heat, ya dig Sucka?............what?...........I can say Sucka.......I'm very 'street' I'll have you know.......(Al stops and gives Head a cold stare, obviously not liking whatever it is she has to say).......you take that back........I'm hip...........I AM........I'm cool........I AM!!........I'm cooler than you.........no.......no, you're not wearing it..........you're embarrassing me.........no........NO........fine, fine, you want to embarrass yourself then go right ahead......"

.......Al ducks out of shot for a moment before standing back up.......and now Head is wearing a black Harlem Heat bandana, complete with flame motif.......

".......are you happy now, you look ridiculous.......you look ridiculous.......Booker tell her she looks ridiculous......."

".......hey, she looks good to me dog......"

".....don't encourage her.......her ego is big enough as it is.......Chris, tell her how stupid she looks......."

.......Candido pauses for a moment as Booker and Stevie chuckle away in the background, before telling Al that nothing 'Head' could ever do could embarrass him any more than Al Snow embarrasses him on a daily basis......in fact, the ONLY thing Al Snow could do to not embarrass Chris Candido, would be to pick up the win tonight, and walk out of Summerslam as one half of the NEW tag team champions.......

".....so can we maybe focus on that?....."

......Dok tells the men that they are allied tonight, but in six days it's going to be every team for themself.....and after Billy Gunns victory last week, the advantage is surely in the camp of the New Age Outlaws?......Booker T doesn't agree, he says the Outlaws.....

".....haven't been teaming up but five minutes, and no offence to this crazy cracker right here and his partner, but neither have they.....Edge and Christian, they just a pair of wannabe's.....me and my brother, we been a team our whole damn life.....and we been winning tag team Gold our whole career.....forget about your Steiner Brothers, your Hart Foundations....your Legion of Dooms....what you looking at right here is the greatest team in the history of tag team Wrestling.....and it's just like Biggie said....cuz if you don't know, now you know.....sucka....."

....Chris Candido takes exception to that, telling Booker that he and his brother may have worn tag team gold elsewhere......but they've never worn tag team gold where it matters, and that's here in the WWF.....and while he and Al Snow haven't been teaming all that long, they've racked up some pretty impressive wins along the way......and Sunday night will be the biggest win so far, when they take home those tag team titles.....the absolute BEST result that the Heat can hope for, is that it's neither one of THEM that Candido pins to finish that match.....because they've only been in the WWF "but five minutes" and it would be a shame for their careers to be ended, before they even began.....

.....the interview then soon descends into an argument, with Dok doing his best to remind these men that they still have to co-operate this evening, before Booker, Stevie and Candido finally storm off before they come to blows, leaving an flustered looking Al Snow behind....who looks down at Head......and up at Dok.....before letting out a sigh.....

".....can't we all just get along Betty?....."

.....Al just stands there, as if he's waiting for an answer to that rhetorical question....before Dok reminds him that his match is up next, as he scampers off towards the ring area.....

VS.

So that match is indeed next......and unlike last week, this isn't a fatal four way......but a standard tag team match.....but with far from standard partners......the ringside area is somewhat crowded too....because each man is accompanied by his usual partner, meaning that Chris Candido, Stevie Ray, Christian and Billy Gunn are all on the floor.....

.....realistically, every single team involved in Sunday's Title match has the potential to walk out as Champions.....in fact, I can virtually guarantee that each team involved in this match will hold those titles at some point in their career.....or at least I COULD have guaranteed that up until a few weeks ago.....but with the added stipulation, now I can't even guarantee that our CURRENT champions will still have a job come Monday morning......

......interestingly enough (despite the bickering earlier) it's Booker and Snow that are the more cohesive unit here.....with Edge obviously deciding to conserve HIS energy for Summerslam.....because he refuses to even tag into this match, leaving The Road Dogg to face two men alone.....and as Booker finishes Jesse James off with a Missile Dropkick, Edge doesn't even attempt to break up the pin....simply dropping to the outside and heading towards the back with his partner......

Winner(s): Al Snow & Chris Candido
Rating: B

Quote:

.....not that they actually get far....because Billy Gunn goes running over, spinning Edge around and screaming at him for leaving the Road Dogg in the lurch like that.....both Edge and Christian smirk at that, telling Gunn to "chill"...and to go home and enjoy those titles for six more days......because at Summerslam, there are going to be two new "totally awesome" Champions in Edge and Christian.........the Bad Ass however, is anything but "chill".......which he demonstrates as he punches Edge square in the jaw.....and he's soon joined by the Road Dogg, who smacks Christian......the two young Canadians aren't happy with that.....and soon the two heel teams are flat out brawling in the aisle......

.....you'd think Snow, Candido and the Harlem Heat would be happy with that.....but an argument seems to have developed there too.....as Candido continues his previous argument with Booker and Stevie, while Snow tries to calm the men down......unfortunately for him, as Stevie Ray throws a punch at Candido, the former Bodydonna ducks, and it's Snow that eats the right hand to the jaw......and suddenly we have a brawl IN the ring as well as outside it.....at least until the Snow/Candido/Heat contingent stumble through the ropes....and we suddenly have all for teams (and all eight men) brawling amongst themselves at ringside....and as security comes running out from the back, Jim Ross sends us to commercial.

Fatal Four Way Match

With Chris Jericho now being the only one with his career on the line in Sunday Nights Light Heavyweight Fatal Four Way Match, he has a warm up of sorts here against three other members of the light heavyweight division, who may very well not have a division any more come Summerslam......because while if Chris Jericho does NOT win (and he doesn't even have to be the one pinned to lose) he is out of a job......if he DOES win, not only does he become the NEW Light Heavyweight Champion, he becomes the LAST Light Heavyweight Champion....because the entire division will be retired.....

.....and that fact puts quite the bullseye on his back here tonight....after all, should The Ayatollah of RocknRolla walk into Summerslam with an injury, that would seriously harm his chances of winning.....and he does take quite the bit of punishment here, with all three of his opponents looking to be the one to defeat him......tempers and egos flare however, since this is one fall to a finish.....and after numerous pinfalls are broken up, Jericho's three opponents finally turn on each other, giving him a much needed break.....and opportunity......because after Lynn is back bodydropped high out of the ring, Kidman nails Christopher with a Shooting Star Press.....and WOULD have got the victory.....had Jericho not dragged him off "Jerry's Kid"....tossed him to the outside.....and stolen the pinfall himself......that's one Fatal Four Way down......one to go.

Winner: Chris Jericho

It's hype time now......as we go to a promo package highlighting the storied history between Kevin Nash and Shawn Michaels, with snippets of comments from each man spliced in throughout.....it starts with Michaels smashing Marty Jannette through the Barber Shop Window, followed up by a shot of him capturing his first Intercontinental Championship from the British Bulldog, with a Michaels voice over telling us that he always had a knack for knowing when friends had outlived their usefulness.....he says that he always knew he was destined for greatness.....and he did it all on his own....

.....that's followed up with a shot of Jannetty defeating Michaels for the Intercontinental Championship.....before we see Kevin Nash's WWF debut as Diesel, helping the Heartbreak Kid regain the championship at a house show event, with a Nash voice over telling us that he's been carrying Shawn Michaels since the day he arrived here in the WWF.....followed by shot after shot of Diesel's interference helping Michaels regain the gold.....

.....from there we have a clip of Diesel eliminating seven men from the 1994 Royal Rumble, emphasising the reaction from the crowd that night as they embraced the (then still heel) big man.....as Michaels tells us that he dragged Nash from nothing and made him a star.....before we see Nash's parting shot in the Rumble, where Shawn Michaels appeared to help eliminate him....with Nash telling us that Shawn Michaels has been stabbing him in the back from day one, he should have seen all this coming.....

.....next we see Diesel capture the Intercontinental Championship from Razor Ramon (with an assist from Shawn Michaels) as well as the pairs Tag Team Title victory over the Headshrinkers, making Big Kev a double champion....as Shawn tells us that he's the ONLY reason that Kevin won ANYTHING around here.....before we see Michaels accidentally Superkicking Diesel in the jaw, inadvertently cost Nash the Intercontinental Title at Summerslam 94.....before we see him Superkick him again at Survivor Series 94, before running out on him and tossing the tag team championship down in the process, as Nash tells us that Shawn Michaels is the ONLY reason that he lost ANYTHING around here......

.....there's a shot of Michaels going coast to coast in the 1995 Royal Rumble....telling us that he showed the world how good he was when he finally ditched that seven foot loser.....followed by Diesels squashing of Bob Backlund at Madison Square Garden to capture the WWF Title, with Nash saying that when he was finally free from babysitting Shawn, HE showed the world how good he was.....before we see the pairs only Pay Per View match, when Diesel defeated the Heartbreak Kid at Wrestlemania XI, with Nash telling us that he's defeated Michaels before, he can damn sure do it again.....

.....from there we have flashes of Diesel's WWF Title reign....defeating the likes of Mabel, Tatanka, Bam Bam Bigelow and Psycho Sid in real snore fests, before being defeated for the belt by Bret Hart....as Shawn tells us that Nash held that World Wrestling Federation Championship for a year....and drove the business into the toilet......before we see Michaels WWF Title victory over Bret Hart at Wrestlemania XII (without a shot of the KLiQ's interference that helped him win) as well as victories over the likes of Bret Hart (again), Owen Hart, Brian Pillman, Steve Austin, Chris Jericho etc....as Shawn tells us that HE held the World Wrestling Federation Championship for a year, defeating the man that Nash couldn't......and he took the business to highs it had never seen before.....and he did it all by himself.....

......that's followed up by a repeat shot of Shawn winning the WWF Championship again, as well as all his subsequent title defences....except this time all of the KLiQs interference is included....especially highlighting the fact that it was Nash that helped Michaels win the WWF Title in the first place.....as Nash tells us that Shawn Michaels held the World Wrestling Federation for a year because of HIM.....and it was the KLiQ that revolutionised this business and turned the WWF into a ratings machine.....ALL of the KLiQ....NOT just Shawn Michaels.....but Michaels just couldn't share the spotlight.....he had to let his ego get the best of him.....

....from there we see the deterioration of the KLiQ.....Michaels constantly ripping into and talking down to his friends.....Michaels accidentally Superkicking each and every member at some point or other.....Michaels doing more to COST his so called friends victories than earn them.....with Nash telling us that it was the Wolfpac that carried Shawn Michaels to the top....and all they got for it was to be sh!t on week in and week out.....he says that Shawn Michaels killed the KLiQ.....Shawn Michaels killed the best thing to ever happen to his career.....Shawn Michaels pushed and pushed and pushed.....until Kevin Nash finally pushed back.....

.....that's followed by Kevin Nash's destruction of the Heartbreak Kid.....Powerbombing him through the announce table at the Royal Rumble......ensuring that no one interferes in the Wrestlemania match that saw Scott Steiner become the WWF Champion.....as well as Kevin Nash's vicious assault from In Your House in Canada, which again saw Michaels Jackknifed through the commentary table.....Nash tells us that this has gone on long enough....the WWF just isn't big enough for both of their egos.....one of them has got to go......and at Summerslam, Kevin Nash is going to take out the trash once and for all......

.....from there we switch to Kevin Nash getting his knee destroyed, along with Shawn's some time alliance with Ric Flair, Arn Anderson and Brian Pillman.....followed by shots of Nash with his leg in plaster being pushed around in a wheel chair....and hobbling around on crutches.....with Michaels telling us that sometimes, it's just a case of finding the friends that a right for you.....Kevin Nash's time is up, courtesy of the Heartbreak Kid.....and at Summerslam, he's going to be walking out of the WWF once and for all......"that's IF.....he can walk at all".....

It's time now for a match that was made earlier in the evening, as Stone Cold Steve Austin faces off against the bodyguard Test...a man that has already tasted the Stone Cold Stunner once this evening.....Test might have started off his WWF career impressively, but this is Steve Austin that he's in there with, a far cry from a Jim Neidhart.....although when you factor in the fact that Test has Bret Hart in his corner, his chances of victory go up exponentially....and despite Austins initial flurry, the newcomer does give Stone Cold a run for his money, once Bret inserts himself into the match.....

.....Austin is in a bad, bad mood however.....and with his anything goes match with Bret Hart coming up in just six days at Summerslam, it's going to take more than Test to derail him right now.....which is why, despite a strong showing, Test eats his second Stunner of the evening, as Stone Cold picks up a good win ahead of Sunday.

No sooner has the bell rung however, than the Hitman dives into the ring and pounces on Austin.....Stone Cold is fired up however, and even after being blindsided manages to take the fight to his Summerslam opponent.....at least until Owen Hart comes running out from the back.....and Test recovers from the Stone Cold Stunner.....and suddenly it's three against one and Austin is in trouble.....

......with Owen and Test punishing Austin, Bret slides to the outside and picks up a steel chair, which he proceeds to smash across the back of Stone Cold, before driving it into the side of his knee.....and as Rick Rude points out, all of this will be perfectly legal on Sunday night......and as the Hitman drags Stone Cold to the corner, where he locks on the figure four leg lock around the ring post, Jim Ross questions what condition Steve Austin will even be in come Sunday night, as the Hart Foundation and Test finally relent in their attack, as we go to commercial.

So it's main event time.......and probably the only time any time soon that Marcus will be in a main event around here......Scotty isn't in a good mood.....and it's a bad mood that doesn't get any better when it's apparent that neither Goldust, nor Scott Steiner's sh!t as he so tastefully put it, is anywhere in sight......instead it's Marlena that accompanies Marcus to the ring.....

.....Rick Rude claims that Steiner is an absolute moron to have requested this match tonight, knowing full well that his Summerslam opponent Ahmed Johnson will not be competing this evening.....Rude says that Steiner should be resting up and getting ready for the match of his life, not coming out here with a man like Marcus.....a man who's left handed jab can break a jaw out of nowhere.......

......Marcus is more than just a left hand however....and he certainly gives Scotty a good run for his money here.....even Marlena gets in on the action, attempting to blow gold dust in the face of the WWF Champion.....Steiner avoids that however, and the dust goes right into Marcus' eyes, who drops to the mat trying to restore his vision......which means he misses Big Poppa Pump grabbing hold of Marlena....putting her over his knee..........and giving her a good spanking, much to the delight of the crown......and truth be told, judging by the coy smile on her face afterwards, much to the delight of Marlena too.....

......Marcus is swinging wildly in the background, still struggling to see......which is why he doesn't see Scotty come tearing across the ring with a big Steinerline......the WWF Champion flips Marcus over and locks on the Steiner Recliner......and just like that, this one is over.

Winner: Scott Steiner

Marlena grabs hold of Marcus, and the duo bolt quickly up the aisle.....leaving a p!ssed off looking Scott Steiner in the ring......which is exactly the time that Goldust comes swanning out from the back......he has Scotty's chain mail on his head, and Steiner's (apparently "good") lead pipe in his hand......the WWF Champion tells that "yellow freak" to prance his way down the aisle......hand Scotty his sh!t......

"........AND MAYBE.....JUST MAYBE......I'LL ONLY KICK YOUR ASS ONCE.......I WOULD THREATEN TO SHOVE THAT PIPE UP YOUR ASS TOO.....BUT I'D BE TOO WORRIED YOU'D TAKE ME UP ON THE OFFER......"

.....Goldust doesn't look overly concerned....and in fact traces his fingers over the chains adorning his head and letting out a little shudder, before taking hold of the lead pipe and handling it in a rather provocative manner, giving Scotty a little wink as he does so......

......and that's about all Steiner can take.....he looks about ready to explode and Goldust might want to run.....because Scotty looks like he's about to exit this ring and charge at the Bizarre One.........

..........at least until Ahmed Johnson comes flying out of the crowd, with a huge wooden plank of wood in his hand......which he cracks across the huge back of Steiner, followed by a series of more shots with that wood, until Ahmed finally snaps the weapon in half on Scotty's lower back......

.........Cornette is out now......tennis racquet in hand, which he tosses to Ahmed before collecting the WWF Title from the timekeeper and jumping up and down with it on the outside......

.........Ahmed takes the racquet and backs up into the corner, measuring his Summerslam opponent up......and as Steiner slowly struggles to his feet, Ahmed charges across the ring and nails him right in the windpipe with the sports equipment.....which sends Steiner crashing to the mat, clutching at his throat......

..........Jim Ross is appalled by this behaviour......saying that the tennis racquet of Cornette has already take out Kokina......Rikishi......and even the mighty Undertaker......none of whom have been seen since......how is Scott Steiner possibly going to be in any condition to perform in just six days time?.......and Ahmed doesn't look done either......as he drags the wheezing Steiner to his feet......before planting him into the mat with a Pearl River Plunge.......

.......Scotty is down......Scotty is hurt......and as Jim Cornette joins his client in the ring, Ahmed Johnson is standing tall.......and he has the WWF Championship held high overhead.......and is this the sight that awaits us at Summerslam?........we're going to find out in just six days time folks.......call your cable providers now......

Week 3, August 1997
Rupp Arena (Lexington, Kentucky)
ATT: 15,287
TV: 18.83
Announce Team: Tony Schiavone, Bobby Heenan and Mike Tenay

Quote:

We are just one day removed from a monumental Road Wild event.....an event that saw debut's....that saw triumph.....that saw tragedy......and yes, that saw betrayal......and before the opening credits even roll we have a black limousine pulling up into the parking lot......and one by one, the Titans of Wrestling make their grand entrance, as Vince Russo, Hollywood Hogan (with the WCW Championship draped over his shoulder) Macho Man Randy Savage, Jean Paul Levesque, The Enforcer Ray Traylor and the Nasty Boys, all climb out one by one......and as all seven exit the vehicle, Russo turns to the open door.....telling an unseen passenger to wait there......because they have a special entrance planned just for him.........before the group walk off full of smiles and head into the building, as the Monday Nitro Credits finally roll.......

Rating: N/A

Quote:

.......and as soon as the title credits finish, we have a series of still images from last night.......Curt Hennig's Pay Per View debut and victory over Ray Traylor......Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain's huge victory in the triangle tag match, followed by the Titans subsequent assault of Lex Luger and the Giant......the Road Warriors successful Title defence, Eddie Guerrero's successful title defence, along with the debuts of both Lance Storm and Rikishi Fatu......before finally we get shots of the betrayal heard round the world......as the Warrior became the latest in a very long list of men to stab Sting in the back........before we go down to our announce team (with Bobby Heenan now subbing for the new WCW Commissioner Eric Bischoff) who once again briefly run down last nights show, before Tony Schiavone condemns the Warrior, who after weeks and months of trying to enlist the elusive Sting in the fight against the Titans of Wrestling, turned his back on not only Sting.....not only the fans.....but all of World Championship Wrestling, when he last night aligned himself with that very that very group.....

.......and speaking of the Titans of Wrestling....here they are....as the group makes their way out from the back, looking particularly pleased with themselves after the results of last nights main event.....Mr Russo takes a microphone, and says that as always, everything is coming up roses for the Titans of Wrestling......

".......we've got the greatest icons in professional wrestling.....and we've got the greatest prize in professional wrestling, the WCW Championship.....and after last night, Sting...bro....that's a prize that you'll never be competing for again.....because as long as that belt is around Hollywood's waist, no one....not me.....not Bischoff.....not the old farts on the Championship committee......no one....will be granting you a title shot again......and believe me when I tell you, Hollywood ain't planning on losing that belt any time soon......especially when he's got the back up that he does........"

.....the Titans all laugh at that, with Hogan even pumping his arms up and down Warrior style, before Russo continues......he says that he's made it pretty clear that to be a member of this elite group, not only do you have to EARN your place, but you have to continue to prove that you deserve to be rubbing shoulders with the greatest of the great.......

".......and last night.....not everybody did that......Ray Traylor.....I wanted the head of Curt Hennig last night.....the man embarrassed me.....he embarrassed Hollywood.....he embarrassed all of us, when he double crossed us like the snake he is and aligned himself with Eric Bischoff and WCW........I wanted his head and you went and lost to him.......fortunately for you you're the Enforcer.....and as such get a little leeway around here.....which is why you get to make amends tonight.......because after you did what you do best during his match with Mr. Levesque here last night, Chris Benoit apparently wants YOU tonight.......you take care of that little problem.....you show me.....show US.....exactly why you're the Enforcer.....and you'll be good to go bro......

......Russo then turns to the Nasty Boys.....telling them that Traylor wasn't the only one to fail last night.......they were supposed to be bringing the WCW Tag Team Titles home to the Titans.....

".......but I sure as sh!t don't see no titles around your waists.....I told you what would happen if you didn't home the gold.......I told you.....EVERYONE is replaceable......and if you're not pulling your weight, then what use are you?......"

.....with that the rest of the Titans surround the now nervous looking Nasty Boys......who quickly begin trying to talk themselves out of this little hole that they've dug.....they tell Russo to wait a minute.....saying that the only reason the lost last night, was because they were doing Titan business.....they were in the back with Traylor, showing Luger and the Giant what happens when you badmouth Hollywood......and the Road Warriors jumped them from behind.....Knobbs says that he was smashed in the face with a motorcycle helmet before the match even started.....it wasn't their fault.......

"......wasn't your fault? Bro if there's one thing we don't have room for here in the Titans of Wrestling......it's losers......but a whiner is even worse than a loser.......I'll tell you what though....since tonight is a night of celebration for us.....and since I'm in a particularly generous mood......I'm gonna give you two bozo's ONE more chance......next week, live on Monday Nitro.....it's gonna be the Road Warriors, putting the WCW Tag Team Titles on the line against the Nasty Boys.......and since you DID get your skull bashed in with a motorcycle helmet last night, let's make it interesting......let's make it.....a Street Fight.....anything goes.....winner takes all......but I promise you now bro.....you don't deliver the Tag Team Titles next week, then the Road Warriors will be the LEAST of your problems......"

.....now that the unpleasant business is taken care of, Russo says it's onto more pleasant matters.....and that is the arrival of the NEWEST Titan.....and the man that made sure Sting would never be granted a shot at Hollywoods title again.....

".....ladies and gentlemen, the Titans of Wrestling proudly bring to you.......the man......the myth.....the icon...................the Warrior......."

.......and as the Warriors music begins to play......here he comes........

......except this isn't the Warrior we are used to seeing......gone is the colourful face paint, replaced with a more simplified black and white design.....gone are the colourful airbrushed trunks and knee pads......instead he has a pair of long black tights on (similar to Hollywood's) with the word "Warrior" written in white down each leg.....he still has the arm and boot tassels, but again, it's a black and white theme.......but that's not the biggest difference.....the biggest difference is his entrance in general......because he's not bursting out of the back at a thousand miles an hour.......he's not tearing down the aisle and shaking the ropes like a mad man......he simply walks out onto the entrance way, surrounded by an explosion of pyros......before slowly and methodically walking down the aisle, completely ignoring the jeering fans either side of him.......before climbing into the ring where he shakes hands with Russo.....before embracing Hogan and Savage......and taking the microphone from Russo......he still has some of the Warrior ramblings about him, but he's far less "out there" than usual......

.......he tells Sting that in this human game of chess that is professional wrestling, he was nothing more than a Pawn who thought he was a King......he says that once.....long, long ago.....he and Sting were equals.....but while The Warrior went on to reign supreme in the land of the giants, Sting was happy to settle for mediocrity, thinking himself a big fish in a very little pond.......which was fine......until the Megalodon's of Professional Wrestling arrived.....

.......he asks Sting if he truly believed a star of the Warriors size would be happy to represent a second rate, inferior promotion like WCW for the sake of pride?......Warrior is here for one reason and one reason only.......Money.......and Vince Russo and the Titans of Wrestling is where the money is.......he is a Warrior......and Warriors should surround themselves with greatness, not mediocrity.....and this in the ring right here.....this is greatness......Warrior says that last night alone he heard many men claiming that they were coming for the Titans of Wrestling......well let them come.....come one....come all.....because all will bow down.....at the feet of the Titans of Wrestling.

WCW Television Title Match; Special 30 Minute Time Limit;
Blue Bloods Barred from Ringside

Well......his Lordship won't be too happy about this......after last nights time limit draw with Rick Martel, Steven Regal assured the veteran that he had had his last shot at the gold.....apparently however, Eric Bischoff and the Championship Committee feel differently....and have booked this Title match tonight, even going so far as to waive the usual ten minute time limit to thirty minutes, while also barring Earl Robert and The Duke from ringside too.....there really is no escape here tonight for Regal......or so you would think.........

.....because at around the 15 minute mark, after a hard fought battle, Martel manages to lock in the Boston Crab......and it looks as though his Lordships reign is going to be coming to an abrupt end.......when Lance Storm once again makes his way down the aisle.....and after his brutal attack last night, Martel is obviously not too pleased to see him, relinquishing the hold to turn his attention to the WCW newcomer....which, when he clearly had this match won, was a little bit of a stupid mistake......because Regal quickly rolled him up from behind, grabbing hold of the ropes for good measure for the win out of nowhere.

Winner: ....and Still WCW Television Champion......Lord Steven Regal
Rating: B

Quote:

Regal quickly collects his Television Title and heads to the back with a very smug look on his face......that's three shots Martel has had at the title now, there's no way he'll get another anytime soon......and by the look of disappointment on Martel's face, he knows it too.....he watches Regal (and his hopes of becoming the Television Champion) disappear up the aisle, before turning to face a very serious looking Lance Storm......

.....he grabs a microphone, telling Storm that he doesn't know what his problem is, and he might have JUST wrestled a match.....but he can take five minutes out of his schedule to teach young Lance a thing or two about respect....and if that's what he wants, all he has to do is climb into this ring......Storm shakes his head however......he says Martel is right, he JUST wrestled.....and lost....a match.....and when Lance Storm steps into that ring with Martel, he doesn't want the old man making any excuses when he's forced to submit to the Canadian Maple Leaf.....

.....he says they WILL have a match.....but it won't be tonight.....before turning and walking to the back, leaving Martel with double the frustrations.

Next up we have Gideon Cain, fresh off a huge victory last night with partner Mike Awesome, where they were victorious in the triangle tag team match.....and while winning a triangle match in itself is impressive enough, when you factor in the fact that their four opponents were Lex Luger, The Giant, Vader and Bam Bam Bigelow, it's REALLY impressive.....

....this is Cain's first outing in singles competition here in WCW......and his opponent?.....the Warlord of all people......I guess with the bald head and goatee, this was maybe WCW's attempt to capitalise on the popularity of Stone Cold Steve Austin......only problem with that, is the Warlord ain't no Steve Austin.....and while he does have possibly the finest chemically enhanced muscles money can buy, he's also no match for Missy's Monster.....who nails The Warlord with a move billed as the 'East of Eden' an inverted facelock spun out into a cutter....(that's a Cross Rhodes to you and me.....that or a Roll of the Dice)....which is more than enough to put the big Warlord down for the three count.

Winner: Gideon Cain
Rating: C-

Quote:

Mean Gene makes his way out, and joins Missy, Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain in the ring.....they talk briefly about the huge victory from last night, with Missy telling Gene that last night, her men proved without a shadow of a doubt, that size really does matter......and there are no better big men here in WCW than Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain......and if Gene doesn't believe her, then all he has to do is order the encore presentation of Road Wild, and he can watch Awesome and Cain wipe the floor with four former World Champions all over again.....

Speaking of Road Wild, Gene tells us to call the Hotline now (1-900-909-9900.....kids, get your parents permission) because he's got all the results right there in option one.....before asking Missy what's next for Gideon Cain and Mike Awesome?.....

".......what's next?....why Gene, isn't that obvious?.....what's next is whatever Gideon Cain and Mike Awesome WANT next......maybe they want to take on the big bad Road Warriors for the WCW Tag Titles......maybe Gideon Cain wants that Television Title......maybe that United States Title would look pretty good around Mike Awesome's waist......or maybe, just maybe, they go after the biggest Dogs in the yard.....because that WCW Championship is awful pretty don'tcha think Gene? And Missy does like her pretty things.......one things for sure though.....when Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain want something......they ALWAYS get it......"

.......Missy tells Gene to keep his eyes peeled, and he'll see soon enough, just what's next for her boys.

Our next match sees Bill Goldberg in action....as he looks to continue his path of dominance through World Championship Wrestling, and THIS week his victim is the partner of the individual Goldberg ran through LAST week, that being Pierre Carl Oulette's Amazing French Canadian team mate, Jacques Rougeau......

......Rougeau is what you could call a veteran around here, and while he is predominantly a tag team wrestler, he's certainly had more singles matches than his rookie opponent.....thing is, while Bill Goldberg HAS only had a handful of matches, he's won every single one of them.....and in decisive fashion too.....and unsurprisingly, the Mountie isn't the one to put an end to his streak....as Goldberg finishes him off in the usual fashion....quickly, with the the Spear and Jackhammer......your winner, Bill Goldberg.

Winner: Bill Goldberg
Rating: D+

Quote:

Another week, another win, as Bill Goldberg continues to show the world that rookie or not, it's going to take something special to put a stop to this juggernaut......well, something special OR a cheap shot with a chair.....because the Amazing French Canadians are clearly unhappy that they have BOTH lost to Goldberg in back to back efforts, with Pierre coming rushing down the aisle with a steel chair, that he crashes across the back of the rookie.....

......not that it seems to phase him.....nor does a second shot from Jacques.....a third staggers him slightly......and a fourth shot finally drops him to one knee for a second, before he bursts back to his feet with an animalistic roar.....he turns to face his attackers, but the former Quebeckers have disappeared up the aisle and rush to the back.....they appear to be happy enough with knocking the rookie down to one knee for now.....while Goldberg appears to be anything but happy......Jacques and Pierre may well live to regret the day they decided to start poking this bear.

Rating: D+

Quote:

Goldberg heads to the back, with the commentary team asking what can put this man down, and Eddie Guerrero makes his way out......he's got the United States Championship around his waist and a microphone in hand, as he lets the crowd know that this is WCW holmes.....

"......this is where the big boys play esè......and you wanna play with Eddie Guerrero......you want a shot at MY United States title, then you'd better earn it......."

......Eddie says that he EARNED this title, earned it by winning an eight man tournament.....and now some fat Samoan is just gonna walk in here and get handed a title shot on day one? Just because he's part of the Anoa’i tribe?....

"......big deal esè, if you're gonna start handing out title shots because people have family, you may as well give Brad Armstrong a shot too holmes.....hell, his wrinkled old daddy is in the back too, you wanna give Bullet Bob a shot at my belt too Eric Bischoff?....."

.....Eddie says that if Rikishi Fatu is going to get a shot at the US Title, then he needs to prove himself....which is why Eddie has arranged a little debut match for him right here tonight.....

......that brings the man himself out from the back, with a slightly amused look on his face....he climbs into the ring with a microphone of his own.....he asks Eddie what he's been smoking?...

".....prove myself? Brother I've been doing this for twelve years......I've wrestled for every company worth wrestling for.....won Championships everywhere I've been......what you want me to prove I don't know, but if you got a match for me, then send them out and let's do it....."

.......Eddie says he may have won TAG team gold everywhere he's been, but this is the United States title, and he ain't gonna have a partner in there to watch his back......so let's see just how good of a singles wrestler he really is.......and since he's so proud of his heritage, Eddie has found another Island boy to face off against.......one he knows quite well actually......because he's teamed with him before......

.....The Barbarian.....

Rating: B

Quote:

VS.

.....and as Eddie takes up residence at the announce booth, Rikishi's former (brief) Headshrinker partner makes his way out from the back with manager Jimmy Hart.....Rikishi doesn't look overly pleased at the prospect of facing someone that he obviously considered a friend, but Barbarian doesn't care about sentimental things like that.....he's here to fight....

.....and a fight it is....as these two big bulls hammer into one another.....they've both got that stereotypical Samoan Skull, so a battle of the headbutts doesn't have the effect that either man is used too.....in fact it leaves the pair both dazed......

.....the Barbarian is certainly no pushover, in fact Guerrero on commentary questions whether Fatu will even be in any condition to face him come Fall Brawl......obviously however we aren't going to debut a new star with a loss.....and as Barb comes off the top with a diving headbutt, Rikishi rolls out of the way, leaving the big man to crash into the mat....and as he staggers back to his feet Big Kish catches him with a Samoan Drop, which is just enough to give the newcomer the victory here.

Winner: Rikishi Fatu
Rating: C+

Quote:

Eddie is furious that the Barbarian wasn't able to get the job done here tonight, which Tony Schiavone finds highly amusing.....Eddie tells him that he'll be laughing on the other side of his face if he carries on......before telling him that a Guerrero always has a plan b....before snatching up his Championship and storming to the back as Rikishi celebrates his victory in the ring.....and we go to a commercial for Fall Brawl.

VS.

It's time for Brad Armstrong (who's not seen this much to time since 1992) to make his way down the aisle to that sweet entrance music.....everyone should probably take the time to appreciate it however, because coming in is probably the only time we're going to hear it tonight.....why? Well his opponent is big Scott Norton....and do you really see Brad Armstrong beating Flash? No me neither......which is why Norton is able to poor Brad away with a crushing Shoulderbreaker for the one, two, three......which should hopefully improve Norton's standing with the crowd a little bit, because surprisingly Armstrong is actually viewed as the bigger star of the pair......your winner, Scott "Flash" Norton

Winner: Scott Norton
Rating: C+

It's time to dust the mothballs off Mean Gene again, because he's backstage with Curt Hennig, who was victorious last night in his match with The Enforcer Ray Traylor.....Gene says that's a dq victory over WCW Champion Hollywood Hogan, and a pinfall victory over Ray Traylor in the space of a week.....that's got to be considered a pretty perfect start to his WCW career......

......Hennig disagrees however.....saying a perfect start would be if he had the WCW Title wrapped around his waist right now.....he says he knows that he's only just arrived here, and there are a LOT of people gunning for Hollywood Hogan and the Titans of Wrestling....but the way he sees it, no one deserves the next shot at the gold more than him.....

......Gene says that's a bold statement considering the laundry list of stars lining up for a shot at Hogan.....Luger, The Giant, Diamond Dallas Page.....Chris Benoit.....the list goes on and on....Hennig cuts him off right there......he says all of those men are great athletes.....BUT, with all due respect......

"......how many of them already hold a victory over Hogan? Lex Luger? Last shot he had at Hogan finished with him flat on his back.....Diamond Dallas Page has been busy losing to Eddie Guerrero and beating wannabe Titans like Buff Bagwell......Chris Benoit couldn't even beat Levesque......and the Giant, he's more concerned about proving what a big man he is than focusing on Hogan.......that leaves ME.....I beat Hogan once, I can do it again.....and this time, I'm gonna take the title too....."

Rating: B

Quote:

VS.

Curt Hennig is right, the last time we saw Chris Benoit he WAS losing to Jean Paul Levesque.....and tonight's opponent, Ray Traylor, was a big part of that loss.....which is exactly why Benoit has requested this match tonight.....

....if Benoit wants to move up the card, and EVER have a chance of stepping between the ropes with a Hollywood Hogan or a Macho Man, then he's going to have to start picking some victories up here against the Titan big boys, and Ray Traylor would be a great place to start.....the under pressure Enforcer of the Titans, who's already on thin ice with Vince Russo here....should Benoit manage to not only defeat Traylor tonight, but cost him his place in the Titans in the process, then that would lay some real credibility at his feet......the problem with that, is life's never that simple.......

.....especially when you have men like this one....Buff Bagwell.....keen to prove his worth to Hogan and Russo to possibly earn himself a spot in that elite group.....and he's out here tonight, nailing Benoit right in the kidneys with Traylors nightstick as Benoit is running the ropes......and if the kidney shot wasn't bad enough, the Enforcer (Sidewalk) Slam that followed it was more than enough to grant Traylor an important victory here this evening.

Winner: Ray Traylor
Rating: B

Quote:

And Benoit's night is about to go from bad to worse.....because Traylor and Buff don't appear to be finished.....it's time to make an example......and Benoit is the sacrificial lamb......the Titan and Titan in Training proceed to beat the holy hell out of a helpless Benoit, who looks to be in big trouble here.......

......at least until Diamond Dallas Page comes sprinting down the aisle, fighting off both Bagwell and Traylor long enough for Benoit to regain his faculties and re-join the fight, as the pair send the two would be attackers packing.....

......Page grabs a microphone and tells the retreating duo to go running back to Russo, and give him a message from DDP.....

"......you tell him....AND Hollywood "Scum" Hogan....that Diamond Dallas Page is coming for that WCW Title.......I don't care who thinks I can't do it.....I don't care who doubts me.....because I don't doubt me......and I KNOW that if I get into that ring with Hogan.....he WILL.....feel.....the.....BANG!......"

Rating: A (yeah....I don't know why that's graded so strongly either)

VS.

So it's main event time, and its Lex Luger and the Giant, joining forces against two men that HAVE teamed in the past.....but it was way back in 1992 that the Mega Maniacs last shared a ring as partners, but tonight the Macho Man and The Warrior are riding again......although THIS Savage and Warrior are very different to their 1992 counterparts.....as the Warrior takes his first steps into the land of the heels.....and step he does.....because much like earlier this evening there is no running down the aisle.....there is no shaking the ropes for the excitement of the fans.....if anything the Warrior completely ignores the crowd, almost as if he sees them so beneath him, that they don't even warrant his attention.....

......Lex Luger made it perfectly clear last night that he has his sights firmly set on the Titans of Wrestling.....and more precisely, Hollywood Hogan.....surely a victory here would take him one step closer to making his dream a reality......and considering the men involved, this is a damn good match.....clearly the crowd are hot to see the turncoat Warrior get his comeuppance......unfortunately, they are going to have to keep waiting.....because obviously keen to show everyone his brand new mean (i.e cheating) streak, and with the help of another Buff Bagwell distraction at ringside.....he almost knocks Luger out cold with a steel chair shot, leaving him easy pickings for a Macho Man Flying Elbow, giving the Titans of Wrestling an important victory here tonight.

Winner(s): Randy Savage & The Warrior
Rating: B+

Quote:

No sooner has the bell rung, than the rest of the Titans of Wrestling make their way out....Vince Russo included.....and along with Buff Bagwell, it takes all eight wrestlers to finally take the Giant out of the equation, beating him back towards the ropes, where they wrap him up Andre the Giant style between the top and middle rope....

......Hollywood grabs a microphone, as the rest of the Titans pull out spray cans......telling everyone in the back to take a good hard look at what's about to happen to these two men......because he's hearing a lot of talk from people wanting a shot at Hollywood.......and THIS is what happens, when you think you can hang with the champ, brother.......

.....they flip Luger onto his front and Warrior bends down to do the honours.......he doesn't get chance however.....

.......because the party is rudely interrupted by the arrivals of Curt Hennig, Diamond Dallas Page, Chris Benoit, and the WCW Tag Team Champions, The Road Warriors.....the five men burst out of the back and down the aisle, where they hit the Titans (and Bagwell) head on.....it's five against eight however, so the odds are hardly in their favour.....at least until Luger gets back to his feet, freeing a VERY angry Giant from the ropes in the process.....and have you ever seen an angry Giant? Let's just say that even though Hogan and his group have a one man advantage, they are still outnumbered by the score of one p!ssed off Giant.....and it's not long until the Titans have bid a hasty retreat back up the aisle, where they gather on the entrance ramp........

........where Eric Bischoff comes marching straight through the middle of them and down to the ring......he grabs a microphone and addresses the WCW contingent in the ring first, saying it's good to see them getting along.....because they're going to need that unity......

".....see Vince Russo....you're pretty new around here, so this is something you may not know, but Fall Brawl is right around the corner.....and we have kind of a tradition around these parts.....and you KNOW how important tradition is to these fans......which is why at Fall Brawl, it's going to be Lex Luger.....The Giant......Curt Hennig.....Diamond Dallas Page..........and Chris Benoit......facing off against Hollywood Hogan......Randy Savage......The Warrior......Jean Paul Levesque......and since he's so keen on involving himself in your business recently......Buff Bagwell.........."

"........oh sorry, two more things......ONE, since we appear to be a little crowded on the Challenger front, should team WCW win, then the man who secures the victory will be named the number one contender to YOUR WCW title Mr. Hogan........

"..........and two.......that match.........at Fall Brawl.........it's going to be WAR GAMES!!!....."

.....the Titans are NOT happy with that announcement at all, with Russo and Hogan screaming at Bischoff that he can't do that.....to which Bischoff replies he can....and he has....the match is set....and at Fall Brawl the Titans of Wrestling will be going into the match beyond....goodnight folks.

"Bro, why the hell did you put Johnny B Badd in the main event of Raw a week away from freaking Summerslam? Are you trying to put people off buying the show? We had Luger and the Giant against Warrior and Macho, and your answer to that was Steiner vs. Mero and Austin vs. Test? Mero is barely a midcarder.....and Test, well he's not even THAT high up the card....who wants to see that?"

"Sorry what was your rating this week? An 18 to our 33? I'd say plenty of people wanted to see that......actually let me rephrase that......plenty of people just want to see Austin and Steiner....they don't care who they face.....as for it being a week before Summerslam, the main event has been set for two months now, people know what to expect."

"You know what I didn't expect bro? This job to be so freaking stressful.....it's like managing a bunch of animals......they all fricking hate each other......and Hogan.....fricking Hogan bro....he's isolated both the Giant and the Renegade so much that the two guys are miserable......Renegade even asked for his release......he got it too, because F##k The Renegade am I right? But Giant bro.....I don't wanna lose my big man......"

"Hey I told you Vince, if the Giant fancies a change of scenery he'd be welcome over here......"

"Keep your hands off my fricking Giant bro.....the only good thing around here is Bobby Eaton working with Gideon Cain.....he's been showing the big musclebound goof how to sell this week....which is good, because Boy does he need it.......hey did you see Jerry Springer today? I swear to god bro I love that show....."

"Vince I don't really have time to chat about Jerry Springer......I've got a Pay Per View to book."

Brad did have some pretty sweet music......music far better than he deserved when you consider his placement on the card.....but then WCW had some great themes all round (granted most of them were ripped off from actual songs, but still) some of my personal favourites being Raven's "come as you are" rip off....obviously DDP's theme.....Chris Jericho's "Evenflow" clone....and that sweet, sweet Horseman tune......I even liked Jeff Jarretts Cho, Cho, Chosen One theme, the Kid Rock rip off of "Cowboy" was it? Kinda bums me out that a lot are edited out of the Network

I suppose it could be worse; Bossman was decent in his day, albeit that by 1997 his day maybe had passed.
It's 100% a shot at Arn for leaving.....you know how petty WCW are

Storyline wise (before I started writing the shows up) I decided that it was Traylor that cost Flair and Arn their spots in WCW costing them a match against the Titans where they were fired if they didn't win.....hence, the Enforcer Ray Traylor was born.....

Incidentally, Boss Man in WCW never worked for me....but I enjoyed his run in the Corporation (basically as McMahons Enforcer) so here he is......that and he's more over than 90% of the WCW roster right now so he's perfect to put the guys I want to elevate over

WWF Championship Match
Scott Steiner (c) vs. Ahmed Johnson
Comments:

Taker returns, screws Ahmed. Steiner gets to keep the belt to lose to Bret at Survivor Series, so Austin can win the Royal Rumble and win at Mania. That's my prediction, babeh!

Loser Leaves the WWF
Kevin Nash vs. Shawn Michaels
Comments:

Shawn loses, goes to WCW and drives a wedge between JPL and the Titans.

Anything Goes: Street Fight
Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart
Comments:

Bret Hart doesn't need the win as much as Austin needs it.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Triple Threat Match
Faarooq (c) vs. The British Bulldog vs. Owen Hart
Comments:

Owen wins the IC Championship to kickstart Farooq slowly losing power in the Nation of Domination, methinks.

WCW European Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
The Loser of the Match will be Fired
The Rock (c) vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Ken Shamrock
Who Loses?: Jeff Jarrett

Slapnuts joins WCW and I can continue to hate his guts there.

WCW Tag Team Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
The Losing Team will be Fired
The New Age Outlaws (c) vs. Al Snow & Chris Candido vs. Edge & Christian vs. Harlem Heat
Who Loses?: Al Snow & Chris Candido
Comments:

Candido would be a perfect fit for WCW as a technical wrestler, Snow notsomuch, but their team is great.

WCW Light Heavyweight Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
If Chris Jericho wins, the Light Heavyweight Division is retired....if Chris Jericho loses, he leaves the WWF
Scorpio (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho vs. Dean Malenko

Nitro had Chris Benoit (PUSH HIM, DAMMIT! ), Regal and Hennig, and that would likely be the only reason I would watch it. So probably RAW.

Ahmed Johnson - If there is ever a time for Ahmed to pick up the gold, this is it right here. I called him out as a future champion quite a few times during the previous year, but with Cornette to talk for him and this huge wave of momentum he's riding, it's now or never.
Shawn Michaels - I can't see the WWF without Shawn Michaels. He's still young, he's still far and away your most well rounded wrestler, and he would immediately be lost in the shuffle in WCW. However, Kevin Nash in WCW interests me because for one I think he would still manage to stand out by jumping ship and for two I think it would finally let Hall get a chance to shine in this new WWF.
Bret Hart - Hart picks up the win but it's going to put Austin over huge in the end anyways.
Owen Hart - The Harts are honestly one of my favorite part of the show right now.
The Rock - And the loser will be Jeff Jarrett.
NAO - The only ones I can see leaving are E&C here. Harlem Heat are too fresh to the WWF and Snow/Candido are really entertaining, while E&C I don't feel have fit in very well. But that's more my failing at seeing them fit in without going through the buildup that they did IRL than anything you've done.
Chris Jericho - I don't know what you plan on replacing the title with, but the LHW title can go now.
Flair and Anderson - Getting Hall away from Waltman would maybe do good for him. He's been just playing passenger for so long now that I almost look forward to seeing Nash gone so that Scott can get a glimpse toward the top.
Brian Pillman - This one isn't going to be over in one match, I think.
Sid - You've let the Flock run it's course, now let's see where Raven goes without them.
Kane

Raw or Nitro: I would have flipped back and forth between them but probably ended up catching a little more of Nitro. I'm pretty excited to see War Games going on at Fall Brawl, and right now they do have a serious "Who's showing up next?" vibe going on that is a little bit exciting.

Also, I love the whole "Keep your hands off my frickin' Giant!" discussion that keeps happening

Just wanna say before I get into it - love this card. Tons on the line in every match. Let's begin:

WWF Championship Match
Scott Steiner (c) vs. Ahmed Johnson
Comments: Incredibly tough choice, but Ahmed's hotter than hot, and Steiner still doesn't seem like "the guy" to me as champ (looking at you, stone cold). Could see Taker costing Ahmed here, but I think you'll save that feud for down the line (Survivor Series?). As much as I wnat Steiner vs Bret, I think this is it.

Loser Leaves the WWF
Kevin Nash vs. Shawn Michaels
Comments: I think you've hinted at this so far in WCW, with JPL not exactly winning over the hearts of Hogan and Russo. Let DX do their anti-authority stuff in WCW, and the Wolfpac feuds with the Harts.

Anything Goes: Street Fight
Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart
Comments: Let's keep austin on the chase, even if it is for a little bit longer

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Triple Threat Match
Faarooq (c) vs. The British Bulldog vs. Owen Hart
Comments: No fired stip, eh? Toss-up here, and I don't know if Bulldog/Owen needs a belt

WCW European Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
The Loser of the Match will be Fired
The Rock (c) vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Ken Shamrock
Who Loses?: J-A-Double-R-E-Double-T is F-I-R-E-D *vince voice* FIRED
Comments: Eh, why not with Ken? With Jeff gone and the MDC as the lowest heel stable on the block, let him fight with NOD

WCW Tag Team Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
The Losing Team will be Fired
The New Age Outlaws (c) vs. Al Snow & Chris Candido vs. Edge & Christian vs. Harlem Heat
Who Loses?: This is really tough - going for the home run in NAO
Comments: Everyone losing except for HH make sense here. I'm guessing this is the "shock" firing of the night, and lets DX really become DX down south

WCW Light Heavyweight Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
If Chris Jericho wins, the Light Heavyweight Division is retired....if Chris Jericho loses, he leaves the WWF
Scorpio (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho vs. Dean Malenko
Comments: Y2J can't leave - I won't let him.

The Wolfpac (Hall & Waltman) vs. Ric Flair & Arn Anderson
Comments: with HBK set to leave, VKM needs something to go his way

Dude Love vs. Brian Pillman
Comments: Two crazies brawl to a no contest

Flock vs. Career
Psycho Sid vs. Raven
Comments: I don't trust this snake man

Bradshaw vs. Kane
Comments: Nice to see Bradshaw get this spot, but Kane needs to be protected

Bonus Question For My Own Curiosity:
Obviously Raw and Nitro go head to head....which show would you have been watching this week.....the post Road Wild Nitro? Or the pre Summerslam Raw?
Comments: I'd watch the WWF for this show, but, as a reader, I have been keeping a close eye on WCW

WWF Championship Match
Scott Steiner (c) vs. Ahmed Johnson
Comments: I know I never dug Johnson in real life, but he's got real momentum here, and Steiner has a ready-made reason for defeat as I assume that Goldust will get involved. Shenanigans!

Loser Leaves the WWF
Kevin Nash vs. Shawn Michaels
Comments: Nash would fit fantastically in WCW as a rogue agent - neither WCW loyalist due to his time away from the company nor willing to bow to Hogan as he'd see himself as bigger, stronger and better. Michaels, for all his talent, would be just another Titan in Russo's WCW.

Anything Goes: Street Fight
Steve Austin vs. Bret Hart
Comments: I love Bret, but Austin will benefit more from a victory here.

WWF Intercontinental Championship: Triple Threat Match
Faarooq (c) vs. The British Bulldog vs. Owen Hart
Comments: The Nation need to stay strong overall.

WCW European Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
The Loser of the Match will be Fired

The Rock (c) vs. Matt Hardy vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Ken Shamrock
Who Loses?:
Jeff Jarrett
Comments: Jarrett is a born WCW guy.

WCW Tag Team Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
The Losing Team will be Fired

The New Age Outlaws (c) vs. Al Snow & Chris Candido vs. Edge & Christian vs. Harlem Heat
Who Loses?: The Outlaws
Comments: Strengthen the Titans with the Nastys probably on their way out, and give the rub to a team with a lot of entertainment value.

WCW Light Heavyweight Championship: Fatal Four Way Match
If Chris Jericho wins, the Light Heavyweight Division is retired....if Chris Jericho loses, he leaves the WWF

Scorpio (c) vs. Rey Mysterio vs. Chris Jericho vs. Dean Malenko
Comments: Tempting to promote Jericho, but I feel like he'd have huge milage in WCW as competition for Buff Bagwell as an aspiring Titan.

The Wolfpac (Hall & Waltman) vs. Ric Flair & Arn Anderson
Comments: Assuming Nash loses, the Wolfpac need some momentum.

Dude Love vs. Brian Pillman
Comments: I don't think Pillman will get Love to revert to Cactus Jack... but this story probably has more to go.

Flock vs. Career
Psycho Sid vs. Raven
Comments: I think the Flock are done.

Bradshaw vs. Kane
Comments: Bradshaw isn't on Kane's level, but a strong showing here could help.

Bonus Question For My Own Curiosity:
Obviously Raw and Nitro go head to head....which show would you have been watching this week.....the post Road Wild Nitro? Or the pre Summerslam Raw?
Comments: Post-turn Warrior would get my vote this week.
