CZCW: Coast To Coast

When: Monday, Week 3, August 2019
Where: Bakersfield, California
Attendance: 10,000

Quote:

Welcome everyone to CZCW Coast To Coast! We're going straight into the action this week with Frantic Ali taking on American Eagle II!
Quote:

VS.
Frantic Ali vs. American Eagle II

As soon as the bell rings, the suddenly hyper-aggresive Frantic Ali bum-rushes American Eagle II. Stiff strikes are the main course on today's menu as Ali relentlessly assaults Eagle. Ali then viciously clotheslines Eagle to the arena floor and wastes little time going after him. He slams his head into the steps and rams him into the barriade before letting out an emphatic roar. Before he can continue the assault, he's suddenly plowed over from behind by an interfering Ernest Youngman as the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Frantic Ali by DQ
Match Rating: 74

Youngman continues his attack by throwing Ali over the barricade and into the front row. He climbs over into the first row himself, collects a fan's now empty steel chair and wallops Ali over the head with it, busting him open. Youngman then grabs a mic from the ring announcer and tells Ali he's on for Reach For The Sky!

Quote:

We now go to the locker room where CZCW Television Champion, Felipe Caballero is talking with El Jaguar. They discuss Ant-Man leaving CZCW abruptly and how Caballero now doesn't have an opponent for Reach For The Sky, with Ant-Man's guaranteed rematch no longer possible. El Jaguar tells Caballero that although they've been pals for a while, he sees no reason they can't have a friendly match for the title. Caballero doesn't seem convinced, but reluctantly agrees. Caballero leaves as the camera focuses in on a smirking El Jaguar.

Quote:

VS.
Colossus vs. Air Attack Weasel

Colossus is still visibly fuming from last week and he wastes little time unleashing his anger on Air Attack Weasel. Weasel is a fine competitor no doubt, but he's surely never been so easily dominated in his entire career. Colossus tossed him from pillar to post, all the while screaming out for Scythe to show his face. After a brutal 6 minutes, that surely seemed like an eternity to Weasel, Colossus mercifully put him out of his misery with a Crucifix Powerbomb.

Winner: Colossus
Match Grade: 66

After the match, Colossus continued to scream for Scythe. Just as it appeared he was about to give up, Sycthe appeared on the big video board above the entrance ramp.

He tells Colossus that CZCW's not big enough for the both of them. That's a problem he'll soon remedy though, "Come Hell or High Wat.. Well, let's just stick with Hell!"

Quote:

A bandaged, bruised and stitched up Double Feature make their way to the ring.

Roderick Remus and Spencer Spade talk about how they always respected The Ring Generals and always considered them to be one the finest tag teams in the business. Heck, they considered them an inspiration for their own team, just two guys who loved wrestling and carried themselves with dignity and integrity. They say that's all changed now and Statler and Waldorf better get their asses down to this ring and get what's coming to them! No more attacks from behind, no more cowardly crap, just 4 guys beating the hell out of each other, face to face!

After a few minutes with no response from The Ring Generals, Remus and Spade concede that they know what Waldorf and Statler want, a CZCW Tag Team Championship match at Reach For The Sky. "That's fine," said Spencer Spade, but Remus inists the Ring Generals "will really wish they had just asked!"

Quote:

VS.
American Elemental II & Amazing Fire Fly vs. Masked Stranger & Lenny Brown

Some very underhanded tactics from Stranger and Brown allowed them to control this match from the onset, but it wouldn't last. As Stranger and American Elemental II left the ring to brawl, Amazing Fire Fly was left with an opening to hit his Sky High Fire Fly (Springboard Crossbody) on a distracted Lenny Brown for the win.

Winners: American Elemental II & Amazing Fire Fly
Match Grade: 81

Quote:

VS.
El Mitico Jr. & Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs. Lassana Makutsi & Akima Brave

Makutsi and Brave had great chemistry as a team and they made it their mission to isolate Mitico. It worked for a while, but once Mitico managed to make the tag to Smith, the match took a quick and drastic turn in their favor. The finish came when a miscue caused Brave to accidentally take out his own partner with a powerful clothesline, only to be immediately hit with a Tombstone Piledriver from Smith for the sudden 1, 2, 3.

Winners: El Mitico Jr. & Bulldozer Brandon Smith
Match Grade: 78

Quote:

California Love Machine makes his way out to the ring next and there's only one item on the agenda, CZCW Xtreme Champion Jack Avatar. CLM says he's thought about it some more and tells Jack Avatar that he's definitely looking for a fight and he's looking for one with the CZCW Xtreme Championship on the Line at Reach For The Sky!

Quote:
VS.
Greg Gauge vs. Marvel Malloy

CZCW Champion Darryl Devine is ringside for this bout as Malloy and Gauge make their entrances.

As most anyone would have probably guessed, these 2 excellent performers put on quite the show. While not really a technical masterpiece, their styles complimented each other well and the chemistry was palpable. However, despite his obvious skill, Malloy just didn't quite have the chops to hang with the near technical perfection of Gauge, who submitted Malloy with the Proton Lock (Sharpshooter) in 20:58. Devine applauds as Gauge celebrates in the ring and the show goes off the air.

Winner: Greg Gauge
Match Grade: 90

Rhyme1234 extended his lead by again only missing one prediction.

Next Show: CZCW Coast To Coast

Colossus will finally get the chance to get his hands on Scythe, and Ernest Youngman and Frantic Ali will get another shot at each other, as Youngman & Colossus team up to take on Ali & Scythe in a match that could certainly get out of hand in a hurry!

In their first match since being attacked by The Ring Generals, Double Feature will take on the team of Amazing Fire Fly & Kamikaze in non-title, tag team action.

The CZCW Pacific, Xtreme and Television Champions, American Elemental II, Jack Avatar and Felipe Caballero will team up in a 6-man tag team contest against their challengers for Reach For The Sky, Masked Stranger, California Love Machine and El Jaguar.

CZCW newcomer Fro Sure will make his Coast To Coast debut as he takes on the talented, young high-flyer Hurakan.

We'll also see some 8-man tag team action, as Marvel Malloy, Masked Cougar, American Eagle II and Masked Patriot go up against the team of Air Attack Weasel, Lenny Brown and the up and coming, young tag team The Pryce Is Wright(Prince Pryce & Robbie Wright.)

Finally, in the main event we'll see CZCW Champion Darryl Devine go 1 on 1 with powerhouse veteran Bulldozer Brandon Smith. Can the champ make it to Reach For The Sky in one piece or will Bulldozer pick up a second big win in as many weeks? If so, what will that do for the title picture at Reach For The Sky? Find out tonight on CZCW Coast To Coast!

CZCW: Coast To Coast

When: Monday, Week 4, August 2019
Where: Los Angeles, California
Attendance: 11,137

Quote:

VS.
Ernest Youngman & Colossus vs. Frantic Ali & Scythe

This volatile tag team contest barely made it 7 minutes before referee Francis Long completely lost control and had no choice but to call for a no contest. When the skirmish ended, only Scythe was left standing as he took out both Colossus and Ernest Youngman with Chokeslams. Even his own partner, Frantic Ali, barely escaped Scythe's clutches!

Winners: No Contest
Match Grade: 72

Quote:

Upon returning from commercial break, El Mitico Jr. is in the ring being interviewed by CZCW's lead announcer, Mitch Naess. Mitico says he's sure that Lassana Makutsi can do better than he's shown the past few weeks and he's going to give him a chance to prove it at Reach For The Sky!

Quote:

VS.
(c)Double Feature vs. Amazing Fire Fly & Kamikaze

Remus and Spade were uncharacteristically agressive in this contest, no doubt with their recent beatdown at the hands of The Ring Generals still fresh on their minds. They had the match well in hand too, until the Ring Generals made their presence known, luring Spade off the apron to chase them to the back while simultaneously distracting Remus just long enough for Amazing Fire Fly to hit the Sky High Fire Fly(Springboard Crossbody) for the 3 count.

Winners: Amazing Fire Fly & Kamikaze
Match Grade: 80

Quote:
VS.
Fro Sure vs. Hurakan

It was a clash of styles as the brawler, newcomer Fro Sure, took on the high flying luchador Hurakan. Hurakan got in some flashy offense as usual, but in the end Fro Sure's hard hitting style was just too much for his smaller opponent to overcome on this night as he won his debut contest with the Sure Thing (Piledriver) in 10:03.

Winner: Fro Sure
Match Grade: 79

Quote:

VS.
El Jaguar, Masked Stranger & California Love Machine vs. Felipe Caballero, American Elemental II & Jack Avatar

No one really brought their A game in this one, but a couple did bring their B+ games, namely Jack Avatar and California Love Machine. The Xtreme Champion and his upcoming challenger for Reach For The Sky went at it with a fervor you'd normally only see in a years old rivalry. It was that fervor that ultimately cost the Reach For The Sky challengers the match. After being warned multiple times for using the ropes as leverage in pin attempts against Jack Avatar, California Love Machine was disqualified costing his team the match.

Winners: Felipe Caballero, American Elemental II and Jack Avatar by DQ
Match Grade: 80

After the bell, Masked Stranger rushed the ring and began to help CLM attack Avatar. Caballero and American Elemental II came to the rescue though, and with a little help from El Jaguar, they drove Stranger and CLM from the ring. Avatar, Caballero and American Elemental II thanked El Jaguar for the help and he left. Avatar and Elemental followed suit, but as soon as they were gone El Jaguar snuck back in and attacked his friend Caballero from behind. Before things could get too far out of hand, Avatar and Elemental ran back to the ring and chased away El Jaguar, who could be heard exclaiming "It's not personal Felipe, it's just business!" as he backed up the ramp towards the locker room.

Quote:

VS.

Marvel Malloy, Masked Cougar, American Eagle II & Masked Patriot vs. Air Attack Weasel, Lenny Brown & The Pryce is Wright

Not a whole lot to say about this one. The Pryce is Wright put in a good showing for their team, but there was just too much experience on the other side. The finish came when Marvel Malloy scored the pin over Robbie Wright with the Marvel Breaker (Codebreaker) at around the 15-minute mark.

Winners: Marvel Malloy, Masked Cougar, American Eagle II & Masked Patriot
Match Grade: 81

Quote:
VS.
Darryl Devine vs. Bulldozer Brandon Smith

Darryl Devine went a little out of his comfort zone in this one and showed off a bit of his brawling skills to match up with the bruiser that is Bulldozer Brandon Smith. It was a pleasant surprise to everyone in attendance as the two men put on a very entertaining match with lots of chemistry on display. Unfortunately, it all came to a fairly lackluster conclusion due to interference by Akima Brave.

After Devine hit his Devine Dream Drop (Pedigree) finisher and covered Smith, Smith was able to get his foot on the bottom rope which should have broken the pin, but Akima Brave, unnoticed by both Devine and referee Francis Long, knocked Smith's foot off the rope just as Long was hitting the 3 count.

After the match, an irate Smith rushed to the locker room looking for Brave as Devine celebrated in the ring. That celebration was cut short by Greg Gauge who rushed the ring in an attempt to ambush Devine.

Devine somehow saw it coming though, and managed to quickly escape out the other side of the ring. As we fade to black the CZCW Champion casually sits with his feet propped up on the announcers table, smiling up at his challenger in the ring.

Winner: Darryl Devine
Match Grade: 84

Next Show: CZCW Coast To Coast

On the final episode of Coast To Coast before Reach For The Sky, Double Feature will finally get their chance to get in the ring with the Ring Generals. Actually, that's only half true as it will be Spencer Spade taking on Dean Waldorf in singles action.

Also, El Mitico Jr. will be ringside as Lassana Makutsi teams up with Marvel Malloy to take on The Pryce is Wright, who will surely be looking to even things up after Malloy pinned Wright in the 8-man tag last week.

The always entertaining Amazing Fire Fly will be in action as well, as he takes on one of his partners from last week's 8-man tag, American Eagle II.

In the Main Event, we'll see CZCW Champion Darryl Devine teaming up with the man he defeated last week, Bulldozer Brandon Smith, to take on the #1 contender to the CZCW Championshiop Greg Gauge, and Smith's Reach For The Sky adversary Akima Brave.

Colossus will also be on hand, certainly with revenge against Scythe on his mind.

Lastly, we'll find out the 6 men who will compete in the Golden Ticket Ladder Match at Reach For The Sky, with a guaranteed shot at the title of their choosing on the line.

Match Card:

Dean Waldorf vs. Spencer Spade

Lassana Makutsi & Marvel Malloy vs. The Pryce Is Wright

American Eagle II vs. Amazing Fire Fly

Darryl Devine & Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs. Greg Gauge & Akima Brave

.

Author's Note:

For anyone predicting the shows, I would like to give you the option of choosing what I call "Option C," for any of the matches. "Option C" is what you would choose to guess finishes like a double count out, double DQ, time limit draws and no contest style finishes where there is no clear-cut winner/winners. These types of finishes are a staple of wrestling and as such will occasionally be featured in this diary. With "Option C" on the table predictors will always have a chance to make a correct guess, whether the match has a clear winner or not. To choose "Option C" simply type it next to the desired match and don't highlight a winner.

CZCW: Coast To Coast

When: Monday, Week 1, September 2019
Where: Fresno, California
Attendance: 11,000

Quote:
VS.
Spencer Spade vs. Dean Waldorf

Surprisingly, neither man's partner was present at ringside for this one. Unsurprisingly, only one team tried to take advantage of that fact, as a great match was interrupted by an interfering Marv Statler before it could reach it's proper conclusion. A vicious chair shot to the spine gave Spencer Spade the win by DQ at 15:44.

Winner: Spencer Spade by DQ
Match Grade: 86

As the referee called for the bell, Waldorf exited the ring and brought another chair into the mix. They placed the second chair under Spade's head and it looked like they were about to make a sandwich with the chairs, using Spade's head as the meat. Fortunately, Roderick Remus, who was noticeably limping, came to the rescue with steel chair in hand.

After The Ring Generals fled from the ring Remus asked for a mic. He explained his absence for the match by recounting how his knee was taken out from behind with a lead pipe by an "unknown" assailant backstage. He continued by saying even if it wasn't then, it's now painfully obvious that Statler was responsible the attack. He then told them that if it's a street fight they're looking for, then Double Feature would be happy to accommodate them, just 2 days from now at Reach For The Sky!

Quote:

Next, we go to a video package that reveals the 6 men who will compete in the first ever Golden Ticket Ladder Match at Reach For The Sky, where the winner can challenge for the title of his choosing anytime and anywhere within 1 year. The competitors are Amazing Fire Fly, American Eagle II, Marvel Malloy, Hurakan, Kamikaze and Masked Cougar.

After the video, Mitch Naess announces that 2 of the men who will competing for the championship opportunity in the Golden Ticket Ladder Match at Reach For The Sky will face off next as Amazing Fire Fly takes on American Eagle II!

Quote:
VS.
Amazing Fire Fly vs. American Eagle II

Lots of fast-paced action in this one as both men seemed determined to prove they deserved the opportunity at the Golden Ticket. Every time it seemed like Eagle had the upper hand and was about to put it away, the scrappy Fire Fly would fight back and hit a spectacular move or reversal to stem the tide. After an entertaining 12 minute battle, Eagle suddenly jumped out of the ring and started towards the locker room for seemingly no reason. Unfortunately for Fire Fly, that reason quickly became apparent as he turned to find himself face to waist with a fuming Colossus.

The staredown didn't last long as Colossus grabbed Fire Fly by the throat and lifted him high above the ring before tossing him over the top rope to the arena floor.

Winner: Amazing Fire Fly by DQ
Match Grade: 77

Colossus grabbed a mic, a rare and unexpected sight to say the least. He only spoke, well screamed, 7 words. "Scythe! Me, you, Reach For The Sky!

Suddenly the arena went dark. Seconds later the lights came back on and Scythe was in the ring with Colossus, who immediately charged the hooded figure.

The arena went dark once more though, and when the lights came back on seconds later Scythe had vanished just as fast as he had appeared. As a confused Colossus circled the ring, Scythe's voice echoed throughout the arena, "Challenge accepted."

Quote:

VS.
The Pryce Is Wright vs. Lassana Makutsi & Marvel Malloy

El Mitico is ringside to scout his Reach For The Sky opponent Lassana Makutsi. Makutsi looked better in this one than he had in recent weeks, but he still couldn't get anything consistent going due to constant dirty tactics from The Pryce Is Wright. They pulled hair, poked eyes, double-teamed while the ref wasn't looking and at one point even hit a low-blow on Malloy. El Mitico tried to alert the ref to what was going on, but that just led to more opportunities for Pryce and Wright to cheat. Finally, Mitico had seen enough and he thwarted yet another attempt to cheat by Wright, which distracted him long enough to be rolled up from behind and pinned by Makutsi while Pryce was pulled off the apron by Mitico.

Winners: Lassana Makutsi & Marvel Malloy
Match Grade: 84

Author's Note: Malloy and Makutsi had great chemistry so they will be teaming up more in the future.

Quote:

Back from commercial break and the camera went quickly to the back where a full scale brawl had broken out between Frantic Ali and Ernest Youngman. Before they could be broken up both men were bleeding, Youngman from his arm and Ali from his head. Security, wrestlers and other backstage personnel who had seperated the 2 men could be heard discussing how it was Ali who had started it all when he blindsided Youngman with a kendo stick as he was leaving the building for the night.

Quote:

VS.
Darryl Devine & Bulldozer Brandon Smith vs. Greg Gauge & Akima Brave

Another PPV worthy main event this week! All 4 men showed why they're some of the best in the business and there were a handful of close calls and near falls. Devine hit the Devine Dream Drop (Pedigree) on Brave, but he got his foot on the ropes. Gauge had the Proton Lock (Sharpshooter) cinched in on Bulldozer, but he was saved by Devine. Bulldozer hit his Tombstone Piledriver on Gauge, but Gauge kicked out. Brave hit his Samoan Suplex (Sleeper Suplex) on Devine, but the champ got a shoulder up at the last second. This match could have easily ended a number of times in the ring, but it would meet it's, well underwhelming, end outside the ring instead, as a brawling Brave and Smith were both counted ending the match in a draw.

Winners: Double Count Out/Draw
Match Grade: 90

After the match Brave and Smith brawled on the outside, and eventually out of sight to the backstage area, while Gauge and Devine came face to face on the inside. The 2 went nose to nose and just as it appeared they were about to come to blows, Gauge surprisingly stepped back and put his right hand forward looking for a shake. Devine was taken aback but eventually gave in and the 2 men shook hands as the show went off the air.

Next Show: CZCW Reach For The Sky

7 Championships and a guaranteed shot at one of those championships will be on the line at Reach For The Sky!

Akima Brave and Bulldozer Brandon Smith are out to show the "young guys" on the roster that they're not "too old" to get it done anymore, as they go head to head with pride on the line.

Lassana Makutsi takes on El Mitico Jr. in an attempt to prove that his unimpressive performances in the past month were a fluke.

CZCW Television Champion Felipe Caballero puts his title on the line against El Jaguar, a man he firmly considered his friend just a few shorts weeks ago. That was until Jaguar challenged him to a "friendly" match for the TV title and then attacked him from behind following a 6-man tag team match.

The Xtreme Championship will also be defended, as champion Jack Avatar goes up against the cocky California Love Machine.

American Elemental II defends his CZCW Pacific Championship against # 1 contender, and all-around master of underhanded tactics, Masked Stranger.

Also, the infuriated, giant Colossus will finally get his hands on the man who singled him out for elimination from the Coastal Zone just one month ago, the much younger, and equally ruthless Scythe. Scythe's Tri-State Championship will be on the line as well.

The inaugural 6-man Golden Ticket Ladder Match will also be contested between Masked Cougar, Marvel Malloy, Amazing Fire Fly, Kamikaze, Hurakan and American Eagle II. The winner gets to cash in his "Golden Ticket" trophy for a shot at any Championship in CZCW. He can choose the time and place with no advance notice required for his opponent. He can also choose the match type, and even his partner if he chooses to challenge for Tag Team gold! The only restriction is it has to be done within 1 year of his victory.

After a brutal attack on CZCW American Champion Ernest Youngman, a seemingly maniacal Frantic Ali challenged him for the gold. Youngman accepted when he evened up the ledger with a vicious sneak attack of his own. A third brawl between the 2 men ended up as a "draw," and now they will finally face off in the ring. Will Ali prove he's actually the "future of the business" as he put it? Or, will Youngman vindicate all those who gave him the moniker?

Long-time tag team, the Ring Generals suddenly began to viciously attack CZCW Tag Team Champions Double Feature last month. Double Feature finally had enough and granted Statler and Waldorf a tag title shot in an attempt to get their hands on them. When even that wasn't enough for the Generals they took out Remus' knee backstage with a lead pipe and attempted to end Spade's career by bashing his head between 2 chairs. Luckily, Remus was able to hobble to the ring and make the save. He then informed The Ring Generals that their tag title match would now be a street fight!

Finally, Greg Gauge will take his shot at dethroning CZCW Champion Darryl Devine in a ladder match. Gauge won the right to face Devine by winning the annual 30-Man Coastal Rumble match last month. Since then the 2 have faced each other in multiple tag team matches with neither man really able to get a leg up on the other. Gauge also unsuccessfully tried a sneak attack on Devine one week, only to tease a brawl then shake his hand the next week, so who's to say what Gauge may do! Find out that and more at CZCW Reach For The Sky!

I'll be a little later than usual posting the show today, but it will definitely be posted by early this evening. Thanks to anyone taking the time to follow along. It's greatly appreciated!

I've decided to just wait until tomorrow to post the show. That way I can keep to my regular posting times, which helps me stay organized.
