Default CZCW: Welcome To The Coastal Zone! 97

January 1997
"Coastal Zone Championship (formerly Combat) Wrestling were formed in the early 90s by a consortium of investors headed by Cliff Anderson who were looking to create something truly innovative and unique. By featuring smaller, fast paced workers CZCW have carved out a niche as one of the most highly acclaimed and exciting promotions in the US today, attracting the attention of Preston Holt in the process. Holt's wrestling school has trained several of CZCW's roster, and his RPW promotion on the east coast has worked closely with CZCW in developing young talent. Between them they have paved the way for a new generation of smaller workers to get into the business and the ripple effect of this can now be felt across the wrestling landscape."

Having Successfully risen to Regional States in SoCal after semi-rich investor Grand Avatar bought out the company, CZCW is looking to make a run at a cult following. Although the roster has its weak parts, there's ton of young up and comers & established wrestlers with Popularity. CZCW still maintains its tradition of having high flyers and being the best "indy" company, however the times have changed with a new owner and he's looking to establish star quality on the show as well. Can CZCW hold up with the new changes and rise?

Welcome To The Coastal Zone Show 1:

Grand Avatars Thoughts: The opening show is supposed to really showcase our tag team division.. There could be a ton of potential on both sides of these tag teams. Big Smack Scott shows huge potential as a future world champion, and Whippy The Clown has a good enough gimmick to be another future champion if groomed right.

Tag Team Match:

vs.
Daniel Cano & Whippy The Clown vs. Big Smack Attack
Quote:
In a match that could be considered a #1 Contenders match, Big Scott Mack & his younger brother James Sinclair win the match when Scott Mack got Whippy The Clown in the Camel Clutch... forcing him to tap. D
Grand Avatars Thoughts: Big Scott Mack has something about him that oozes star quality. He's one to watch out in the future. Him & his little brother are defiantly on their way to challenge for the tag titles.

Everest Open Challenge to anyone on the roster:
vs.
Everest vs. Leon Williams
Quote:
Leon Williams comes sprinting down the ramp, and throws the massive Everest off his game with a huge running close line. Leon has a lot to prove in this match, he's been in the business forever.. and has nothing to show for it! Tonight would be no different. Everest got his senses back and destroyed Williams for the reminder in this short match stomps and punches. Everest picks up a lifeless body and ends the match with a huge power bomb. D+

Triple Threat Match:
CZCW World Title #1 Contender's Match:
vs. vs.
Alex Braun vs. Silver Shark vs. Human Arsenal
Quote:
In quite possibly the match of the night, Silver Shark picks up a huge win here.. pinning the Human Arsenal with a quick roll up after intense high flying action. Silver Shark celebrates post match claiming he will be world champion, and it doesn't matter who walks out with the championship later tonight. He's determined to be world champion.C-

Quote:

We cut backstage to the Gilbert Brothers holding their Shiny Golden Tag Team Titles. They say that it doesn't matter who challenges them for the titles because nobody is going to beat them! They're the youngest tag team champions.. and they're going to be holding these times for a really long time. E+

Singles Match:
vs.
Richard Blood vs. Tom Gilmore
Quote:
In a great showcase of 2 future stars, Tom Gilmore defeated Richard Blood with a Moonsault. Richard blood oozes star quality, and Tom Gilmore arguably is a future star. Gilmore will be someone to watch out for in the future. Whether he stays in CZCW, or moves to another company.. this man is a world champion in the making. D+

Main Event:

CZCW World Championship
vs.
Fumihiro Ota (C) vs. Frederique Antonio Garcia
Quote:
Ota knew he had a lot to prove tonight with the new buyout of the company, and change of direction. He pulled all the stops, and even hit Garcia with the 450 splash, however just moments before the ref was taken out by accident from a botched drop kick miss. Garcia hit's the low-blow on Ota and claims his title. He picks up the mic post match and announces that he will be champion for a long time, and will defeat anyone that is put in front of him. Including Silver Shark. C

Grand Avatars Final Thoughts: A solid first show and should've increased our popularity in abut 5 regions. We're close to hitting Cult, and if we just keep grinding we will get there in no time. A few workers notes: The Gilbert Brothers are WAY To young and green to be tag team champions. I was in shock when I bought the company and saw they were holding the straps. Frederique Antonio Garcia is the best worker and entertainer in our company. He's very popular in the US and puts on good matches. Im very high on Big Smack Scott, Tom Gilmore, Whippy The Clown, & Dark Angel. Our next show preview will be posted soon..

Hey you, yeah you! Do you not know who I am? Im Frederique Antonio Garcia...YOUR CZCW World's heavyweight champion, chico! Do you know what that means? No?..... well let me let you know in on an old saying my father used to tell me. You see, the person with the gold makes the rules, and here I stand as your world heavyweight champion. That means I run this place! CZCW belongs to me, and im going to take it to the next level! Oh yeah... Bronze Shark, Gold, Silver... whatever you call yourself! It doesn't matter because you're just a thought in the past. You'll go down in the history books as my EASIEST defense... mark my words.

Frederique Antonio Garcia (c) vs. Silver Shark
Honestly, Shark doesn't need a belt in CZCW

The Gilbert Brothers vs. Big Smack Attack
They're the greater of two evils, bu at least they have some much needed star quality

Tom Gilmore vs. James Sinclair
Betting on the guy with a bigger upside

Everest vs. ???
Betting on the guy that's still establishing his open challenge

The Dark Angel vs. Sammy Bach
Torn on this one. Bach is a talent you can build around, and having him go over Angel gives you a decent angle for a rematch. But Angel is probably the best damn worker on the roster, and deserves to be rocketed up the card with a winning streak.

Welcome To The Coastal Zone Show 2:
SoCal
900 in Attendance

Quote:
The show opens up with a young rookie named Joey Poison. He grabs the mic and claims he's the new debut in CZCW, and it may be his rookie year.. but he's making a run for the world title! Nobody will stop him!

Quote:
Little did Mr. Poison know, he is a debuting star.. but not the one that's been advertised. Former multi time champion and 12 year veteran from Canada Steve Flash makes his way down to the ring. He Lets Joey Poison know that he has everything it takes to be a superstar, but his cockiness will hold him back. Joey Poison doesn't like this at all, and throws a cheap shot to start the match

Singles Match:
vs.
Steve Flash vs. Joey Poison
Quote:
Joey Poison has everything it takes to be a star, decent star quality, youth, and developing stats. Today however, will not be his night. The 12 year veteran Steve Flash has been to a ton of promotions in his 12 year tenure. Having won multiple Tag team titles in NOTBPW, as well as world titles in RPW and both CZCW, the former champion coming back seems perfect for the new brand. Flash ends the match with the flashback. Post match he tries to shake the young Joey Poisons hand. Poison wants nothing to do with him and leaves the ring. D
Grand Avatar's Thoughts: 2 very good Canadian workers here. Poison has everything it takes in this business, and with the proper grooming he will be big. Flash has a lot of upside for our company in its current state, and its a great thing to see a former world champion return.

Singles Match:
vs.
The Dark Angel vs. Sammy Bach
Quote:
2 great workers here, the only difference is that Dark Angel has been in the business for 6 years now, while Bach is in his rookie debut. Quick and easy squash for The Dark Angel, who finishes the match with Descent into hell. Post match Angel continues to add insult to injury by beating up the lifeless body of Bach. Security is brought in to stop the massacre. D+

Everest Open Challenge #2
vs.
Everest vs. Fumihiro Ota
Quote:
In a move that surprised a lot of people, Ota takes up the challenge to the huge Everest. Ota is lightweight here going against a super heavyweight. Ota has a lot to prove after losing the world title. The former 2 time World champ, and King of the Indies Trophy winner has fallen off... but he's still very young and shows a ton of promise to the organization. This would all prove to be irrelevant, however... as Everest crushes Ota in 5 min. with a Title wave Smash. Post match Everest raises his hands up high over the defeated Ota. Everest is looking to continue his open challenge series to build himself. D+

Singles Match:
vs.
Tom Gilmore vs. Tate Lyall
Quote:
Fan Favorite Tom Gilmore returns to action tonight. Tate Lyall is a rookie from the SoCal scene that has decent skills. He would get a decent match here with Gilmore, gaining the upper hand for the most part. Tate is actually the 4 year vet here, with Gilmore in his Rookie year. Gilmore would continue to impressive though, hitting Tate with the Anger Management and securing his second win in CZCW. C-
Grand Avatar's Thoughts: There's just something about Gilmore and I can't quite put my finger on it. The man continues to show he has what it takes to be in this company by putting on decent matches. His Star Quality & skills could use a little work, but he's in his rookie year and has a ton of time to develop. Keep your eyes on him for the future.

Tag Team Match:

vs.
CZCW SoCal Tag Team Championship:
The Gilbert Brothers (c) vs. Big Smack Attack
Quote:
In quite possibly the WORST match in the companies history, Big Smack Attack defeats The Gilbert Brothers with the ego trip to win the tag team titles. Nothing more to be said about this match. E+

Quote:
Post match Daniel Cano & Whippy The Clown come down to the ring and beat up Big Smack Attack! Cano & Whippy believe the previous match they had with Big Smack Attack was a fluke, and they want a rematch for the Tag Team Titles! They hold up the belts after the beat down and head to the back.
Grand Avatar's Thoughts: Im not sure if I've ever booked a horrible tag team like the Gilbert Brothers. Why they held the tag team titles is beyond me. Im sure with some grooming they could be something in the future, but they just arent doing anything for us. Even the crowd booed them out of the building, they can't stand their work.. they're too green!

Main Event:

CZCW World Heavyweight Championship:
vs.
Frederique Antonio Garcia (c) vs. Silver Shark
Quote:
Garcia Claimed this would be his easiest defense yet, and he could possibly be right! Silver Shark is a decent high flyer, and good comedy act.. but Garcia is all business. He easily dominated the underdog shark to the point where the ref almost called the match off a few times. This was a huge miss-match in a ton of ways. Garcia ended the match with the Romeo is bleeding to pick up a win, and his first title defense. C
Post match Garcia grabs a mic and claims he "Told you so!". He says that The Grand Avatar can cook up whoever he wants for him, but hes taking next week off to relax at the beach with a few beers chico! Nobody is in his league, and it doesn't matter if he takes off next week because in his own mind nobody can, or will beat him.
Grand Avarar's Final Thoughts: Another very solid show. It should increase our Popularity by 5. Garcia is defiantly our Ace of the company at the moment, but there are a few surprises headed our way to help us reach cult status. Each week is slowly building our stars, and we're looking to establish a lot of younger talent as our top. Stay tuned for week 3 preview..

Welcome To The Coastal Zone Show 3:
SoCal
950 In Attendance

Quote:
We Open the show with the the CZCW SoCal Tag Team Championship contract signing. In the ring we have the Champions: Big Smack Attack (Big Smack Scott & James Sinclair), and the challengers: Whippy the Clown & Daniel Cano. Big Smack Scott calls the challengers a bunch of low life losers, and pansies for the cheap shot they took against him and his brother last week. Whippy the clown lets Big Smack Scott know that he shows no remorse for the attack, and would do it all over again if he had the option to. He looks at Scott's championship belt and lets him know that he loves shiny gold trinkets. Come CZCW Revolution, he's walking out with his partner Daniel Cano as the NEW SoCal Tag Team Champions. They sign the dotted line and the match is official. Big Smack Scott goes after Whippy, but they leave the ring. Whippy pulls out an annoying horn and prances to the back with partner Cano

Singles Match:
vs.
Dark Angel vs. Joey Poison
Quote:
Dark Angel destroys the young prospect in Poison. He hits him with the Descent into hell at the 7 min mark. C-

Post match Dark Angel grabs Joey Poison by his hair. He screams in his face "YOU HAVE SO MUCH POTENTIAL KID...... ALLL TO WASTE! Open your inner soul to me... Poison, join the Dark Brotherhood! Your soul belongs to me! Dark Angel then drags Joey Poison to the back by his hair, Joey Poison is screaming in agony.

Tag Team Match:
vs.
Song Of Storms (Sammy Bach & Troy Tornado) vs. The Gilbert Brothers (Joey & Jesse)
Quote:
This match was about to get started, however Angel and Poison came running down from the back (Poison seems to be possessed, or at least not look right). Looking back at what happened last week with Angel and Bach, Angel seems to have some sort of interest in Bach. Angel & Poison come out and lay waste to everyone in the ring. The Gilbert brothers are thrown into the first row chairs, and Tornado is smashed by multiple chair shots. Angel Grabs a lifeless Sammy Bach and announces he wants Bach in his Dark Brotherhood.. Bach seems to fight back thought and scream he wants nothing to do with them! Angel & Poison are then seen picking up Bach, and super bombing him into the announcers table. No Contest

Quote:
We Cut to the Grand Avatar presenting the Xtreme Championship belt! This is a belt that signifies what CZCW is all about! High flying action from some of the best up and coming wrestlers in the world! In 1 week we will have a battle royal at our first PPV of the Year.. CZCW Revolution!

Singles Match:
vs.
Fumihiro Ota vs. Silver Shark
Quote:
In a match that a lot of Die hard CZCW fans would love to see, Ota defeated Shark with a Ninja Strike. Ota needed this victory desperately after losing the title, and getting destroyed by Everest. This match featured high pace wild spots. It brought back a lot of the fans to the what makes CZCW so great. C-

Post Match Ota grabs a microphone and announces that at CZCW Revolution, he wants to take place in the battle royal for the vacant CZCW Xtreme Championsip!

Everest Open Challenge #3:
vs.
Everest vs. Richard Blood
Quote:
Everest continues his dominance as he destroys Richard Blood in 5 min. with a Titan Wave Smash. D+

Singles Match:
vs.
Tom Gilmore vs. Human Arsenal
Quote:
Human Arsenal is a former King Of The Indy's trophy winner and shows a lot of potential. The only problem is, he's ran into Tom Gilmore. Tom is on a tear and will not be losing tonight as he defeats Arsenal with an Anger Management securing yet another win. C-

Post match Tom gets on the mic and announces hes intentions on fighting for the Xtreme Title at CZCW Revolution. He admits he's barely been in this business but he knows he destined to do amazing things, and this is just the start. In 1 week hes bringing the gold home!

Main Event:
vs.
CZCW World Title #1 Contender's Match:
Steve Flash vs. Shawn Gonzalez
Quote:
In what would be a huge suprise to everyone Former 2x XFW Champion Shawn Gonzalez makes his CZCW Debut. He's a little bit of a star around the indy scene and raised in popularity after becoming head booker of the XFW. Shawn would show why he belongs here in this match, controlling Flash for the majority of the contest. Flash would attempt to hit his Flash Bang, but would be rolled up for a quick 1,2,3! C

Shawn is on the mic and declares he will be world Champion. He has a ton of respect for Garcia, but hes never faced a world champion like himself. Come CZCW Revolution, everyone will be on the Shawn Gonzalez Train!

Welcome To The Coastal Zone Show 4:
SoCal 950 in Attendance

Quote:
Frederique Antonio Garcia opens the show up tonight. He boasts about carrying CZCW on his back by himself, and that he deserves more vacations! He admits that he watched the Shawn Gonzalez match last week, and was not impressed at all. Tonight Gonzalez has his hands full with the mount Everest, and who knows if he will be even will be able to make it to this Sunday. Garcia lets the whole world know Sunday will be another easy defense for him, because he doesn't believe Shawn Gonzalez has what it takes he beat him.

Quote:
Cut to Shawn Gonzalez who enters the Coastal Zone. He tells Garcia that he respects him a lot, and Garcia should be doing the same for him. His whole life everyone has looked past him. Theres a reason why hes a former 2 time XFW champion! Come this Sunday everyone will be looking at a new world champion.

Six Man Tag Team Match:
(Battle Royal Participants)
vs.
Tom Gilmore, Silver Shark, & Fumihiro Ota vs. Steve Flash, Jungle Jack, & Big Cat Brandon
Quote:
6 of the 10 competitors for this Sundays Battle Royal for the Vacant XFW Xtreme championship competing here tonight, and with a lot to prove. Jungle Jack & Big Cat Brandon are making their debuts tonight, and they will be a tag team going forward. The match is a good high flying- fast paced match with the mix of traditional wrestling. As nobody is really a "team" on Gilmore's side, and Ota's intentions is to win the belt and not make friends, Ota Karate Chops Gilmore from behind towards to the end of the match, and allows Steve Flash to hit the Flash bang on Gilmore for the win! Steve flash stands tall above Gilmore with: Big Cat Brandon, & Jungle Jack. will he win the Xtreme Championship come this Sunday? C-

Quote:
We cut to the Gilbert brothers in the ring. They let everyone know that they're former CZCW SoCal Tag Champions and deserve everyone's respect! They're tired of how CZCW has been treating them.. they lost their titles and haven't even gotten a rematch! This whole company has had no faith in them since the start, and they're fed up. Why don't they even have a spot at the PPV?

We cut to the tag team who will be accepting the open challenge......................

It's the DeColts! Alex and Jack!!!!! The Current CGC Tag Team Champions! The DeColt's come sprinting down to the ring, and begin the beat down on the Gilbert Brothers to start this match...

Tag Team Match:
The Gilbert Brothers issue an Open Challenge
vs.
The Gilbert Brothers (Joey & Jesse) vs. The DeColts (Alex & Jack)
Quote:
The Gilbert Brothers are a complete embarrassment to any wrestling company at this point in their careers. The DeColts (Alex, and Jack) have everything it takes to hold every title in this organization and any organizations they join. Alex being the stand out of the 2! This match ended quickly at the 5 min. mark with the DeColt Drive!. D

Quote:
We cut backstage to Leon Williams. He says that his age shouldn't matter to anyone at this point, because he still has the skills, and popularity to be big in this company. He's not even on the Revolution PPV knows he knows he deserves to be!

Quote:
Cut to the Hype entering the room. He tells Leon that his time has come and gone. Leon is a 45 year old veteran who's been in this business for 23 years (As long as The Hype's been born as hes 23) but he has nothing to show for it. He won 1 lousy tag team title in an organization years ago? He's past his prime, and if he needs an opponent at Revolution, he's accepting the challenge. The Hype needs an opponent for his debut, and the dinosaur known as "Leon Williams" will be easy pickings.

Singles Match:
vs.
Whippy The Clown vs. James Sinclair
Quote:
In a decent match, Whippy The Clown defeats James Sinclair with a Joke's on you. This win surprised none, as Sinclair is super green and honestly a bad worker right now. Whippy would add insult to injury by throwing Sinclair into the guard rail, and stealing his championship belt. D

Singles Match:
vs.
Big Smack Scott vs. Daniel Cano
Quote:
Big Smack Scott crushes Cano here with a Ego Trip. Big Smack Scott attempted to get Whippy to come down and take him on one on one in another match, but Whippy continued to play his mind games. The lights go out, and come back on with Red Balloons coming from out under the ring. Whippy is seen at the entrance with a sadistic look on his face, holding the other half of the tag team belts. C

Singles Match:
vs.
(with Dark Angel) Poison vs. Sammy Bach (with Troy Tornado)
Quote:
Poison enters the ring with a different dark aura glow. He seems to be turning slowly thanks to whatever the Dark Angel's doing to him. It would do anything for him tonight though, because showed him why he's a great worker, and former CZCW tag champion! He wins with a Bach on your Back! C- Post match Angel would beat the living hell out of Poison and drag him to the back by his hair again. Poison seems to be controlled by Dark Angel in some way

Quote:
Shawn Gonzalez is getting ready to walk to the ring for his Main Event Match. Frederique Antonio Garcia blindsides him from behind! He rag dolls Gonzalez, and throws him into the walls and trash can in the backstage area! Gonzalez is dragged to the ring by Garcia, and laid out almost as a Gazelle.. with the Lion Everest on his way to the ring..

Singles Match
vs.
Leon Williams vs. The Hype
Quote:
Leon Williams vs. The Hype is a classic veteran vs. Up and coming rookie. Williams purpose here is to get the Hype over as he's just starting his career. Williams would see some offense, but would ultimately lose to Hype via Double Arm DDT. C-

10 Man Battle Royal
CZCW Xtreme Championship:

vs. vs. vs. vs. vs. vs. vs. vs. vs.
Tom Gilmore vs. Fumihiro Ota vs. Everest vs. Alex Braun vs. Jungle Jack vs. Big Cat Brandon vs. Richard Blood vs. Silver Shark vs. Steve Flash vs. Phoenix II
Quote:
In a match that was very anticipated, it defiantly delivered. This match featured a lot of future stars in the business. The first person eliminated in the match was both Phoenix II & Silver Shark after Everest tossed them out seconds into the match. Steve flash would eliminate Alex 5 min. into the match with a closeline. Jungle Jack & Big Cat Brandon would work together and eliminated Richard Blood. Tom Gilmore would get revenge on Ota after earlier this week, and would nail him with an Anger Management that sends Ota out of the ring! Steve Flash, Tom Gilmore, Jungle Jack, Big Cat Brandon, & Everest Remain. Everyone tries to eliminate Everest, however he's huge, and throws them all off! He eliminates both Jungle Jack & Big Cat Brandon together by tossing Jack out, and throwing Big Cat on top of him. Gilmore and Flash attempt to eliminate Everest, however Everest easily eliminates Flash. Gilmore takes a huge right hand from Everest... he is on the ground and struggles back up grabbing the ropes. Everest stalks him, and as Gilmore slowly pulls himself up.. Everest charges at him full force!!!! Gilmore grabs the top rope and pulls it down quickly as Everest charges.. eliminating him in the process!!!! C+

Post match Gilmore is presented as your first inaugural CZCW Xtreme Champion! He holds up the belt on his shoulder and celebrates in the ring! You can see Gilmore is a future star here.

Tag Team Match

CZCW SoCal Tag Team Championship

vs.
Big Smack Attack (Big Smack Scott & James Sinclair) (c) vs. Whippy The Clown & Daniel Cano
Quote:
Smack Scott & Sinclair look juiced to the Gills here. They're still very young however they're huge! Whippy & Cano get squashed here. A match that seemed to be be a little bit more close on paper, was a public work out tonight. Big Smack Scott would get his revenge on Whippy tonight, hitting him with 2 ego trips for the win. D+

We cut backstage seeing Shawn Gonzalez laid out! A bunch of road agents and medical staff are attending to him. He's supposed to fight for the world title in our main event!

Tag Team Match
vs.
The Dark Brotherhood (Dark Angel & Poison) vs. Song Of Storms (Sammy Bach & Troy Tornado)
Quote:
The Dark Brotherhood enter the ring with a bang, taking out the Songs of Storm immediately. Poison has a change of look, and a huge chip on his shoulder. Songs of Storm get a lot of good offense in this match, but it would do little to the Dark Brother hood as they're out for more than just a win. Dark Angel ends the match after the ref. was distracted.. he nails Sammy with a sledgehammer from under the ring and Poison makes the cover. C-
Post match Dark Angel & Poison drag Sammy to the back himself..

Main Event
CZCW World Championship

vs. ???
Frederique Antonio Garcia (c) vs. ???
Quote:
Garcia seems a little confused standing in the ring with nobody in site. He gets on the mic and demands the ref start the match, and the 10 count. The crowd is hot right now because Garcia once again will get a way a win. The ref gets to 9 when the lights go out for a few moments.....

...........

......

........

NEMESIS IS SEEN BEHIND GARCIA! Garcia turns around and gets pummeled by Nemesis. Nemesis picks up his lifeless body and ends Garcia with a death valley driver and is declared your NEW CZCW World Champion! C+

Quote:
Nemesis is presented with his world championship belt. Its a new Era in CZCW, and the whole room is in shock as a legend has came in and shocked the the building... and the world!
