Travis Browne out of Bellator MMA on Spike 108

Browne suffered a major pelvic injury in the last week of his training camp, and will not be able to fight at the event. Luis 'American Dolphin' Nunez (7-4, 7-4 BMMA) will step up to face Ben Rothwell. Nunez fight with Jared Rosholt booked for the prelims is therefore cut from the event. Nunez and Rothwell fought each other once before, at Bellator MMA 247, where Luis Nunez won a close split decision. Bellator MMA on Spike 108 is headlined by featherweights Pedro Ferreira and Rany Yahya, and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas.

Bellator MMA on Spike 108 lose another fight

Bellator MMA on Spike 108 lost yet another fight. Featherweight Martin Bravo as dropped out of his fight with #16 ranked featherweight Adlan Bataev, following an injury suffered in training camp. Promotional new-comer and lightweight Yukinaga Yamana (8-3, 0-0 BMMA) will step-up and fight Bataev in a catchweight bout, to save the fight. Bellator MMA on Spike 108 is headlined by featherweights Pedro Ferreira and Rany Yahya, and will take place at the T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas.

Bellator MMA on Spike 108 : Ferreira vs Yahya, from Las Vegas, Nevada

Catchweight Bout; (#16) Adlan Bataev (16-4, 9-4 BMMA) vs Yukinaga Yamana (8-3, 0-0 BMMA)
Yamana took the fight on short notice as he was training for another fight. Adlan Bataev 4 losses only came to hands of premium opposition: Connor McGregor, Cub Swanson, Cole Miller, and Tom Duquesnoy. He last submitted A.J McKee. Yamana is coming from Pancrase, where he won a submission of the night award the last time he fought.

Round 1 : The whole round stays surprisingly on the feet, where the kickboxing background of Yamana gives him the edge in the exchanges.

Round 2 : Yamana stays again on the feet and lands some good shots, but Bataev gets the takedown and almost end the fight with a Kimura, which Yamana evades luckily. That round goes to Bataev

Round 3 :Yamana finds a spot to land a big kick to the head, and down goes Bataev. However, Yamana can’t finish the fight with his strikes. The fight finishes at the belt with two gazed fighters.

Round 1 :Fishgold stars with confidence, giving nice hits to Hamill. Hamill pushes Fishgold against the cage, goes for a takedown, but Fishgold holds the fence. Ref Jeff Death deducts a point of Fishgold. The action restarts, Hamill gets a takedown, but Hamill can’t do anything on the ground and the fight returns to the feets till the end of the round.

Round 2 :Hamill gets a takedown, but Fishgold ends up on top. Nothing else happens in the round
Hamill 19-18
Round 3 :Hamill takes down Fishgold again, and almost locks a rear naked choke, but Fishgold resists. Hamill finally gets another takedown before the end of the round.

Two Mixed Martial Artists, Cronin won all his pro fight via submission. Petterson lone loss was handed by Trey Houston, via a guillotine choke.
Round 1 :Both fighters stay on their feet for this round. Strange decision by Cronin, as Petterson has the better of the exchange every time. Petterson hits a nice straight right that rocks Cronin, for the knock down. Petterson can’t finish the fight however and the belt rings.
10-9 Petterson
Round 2 :Cronin finally adjust and dives for a takedown. The remaining of the round is Cronin trying to locks armbars and kneebars everywhere, with Petterson defending well.
19-19
Round 3 : Cronin pins Petterson on the fence, and achieves a takedown. He locks in a guillotine choke and get the W.

Round 1 :Both big guys trades at the middle of the cage for almost the entirety of the round. Rothwell scores with a right who stuns Nunez, and he follows up with a nice head kick for the highlight reel knockout.

It’s now the co-main event of the evening. Albert Eriksson, ranked 10 in the division, is coming back in the cage since his split decision lost to Jake Matthews. He beat some top notch competition as Eddie Alvarez, Benson Henderson and Johnny Case. In front of him, Kamil Gniadek is looking to climb the rankings. His last 5 outings were finishes, 3 knockouts and 2 submissions.

Round 1 :Both fighters begins the round swinging punches and leg kicks, and Gniadek connects with a nice punch that knocks out cold Eriksson.

Light Heavyweight Alexander Gustafsson retires

The Swedish fighter Alexander Gustafsson announced his retirement of MMA this morning. He finishes his career with a 27-10 record. The former two time Bellator MMA Light Heavyweight challenger had lost his two last bout, to the hands to Antonio Nash and Isa Umarov. We wish him a nice retirement !

January Drugs comes back positive

Two Bellator MMA fighters are facing a one year ban from the MMA since USADA found trace of TRT in their samples for the last two fights cards held by the organization. Yusaku Inoue, who lost his promotional debut against Andre Santos will keep his split decision lose on his record. Herbert Burns saw his knockout win against Mike de la Torre overturned into a no contest. Fighters haven't commented yet the story.

Bellator MMA 275, from Denver, Colorado

Middleweight Bout; Kendall Grove (29-23-1NC, 10-10 BMMA) vs Brett Cooper (29-17, 6-5 BMMA)
'Da Spyder' Grove was on the verge of getting cut from the organization, before racking up three wins in his last four fights, his sole defeat against now champ Charles Frye. Brett Cooper for his part also won three of his last four, but by decision.

Round 1 : They meet in the center of the cage and stars trading punches. Grove finds an opening and connects with a kick to drop Cooper. He can't however finish the fight, and after some scramble on the ground, they get back up. In their first exchange back on the feet, Grove drops Cooper again with an uppercut. Again, he can't finish the fight on the ground.
Grove 10-8
Round 2 : Grove finds another knock down in the first minute or so of the second round. As trying to finish the fight, Cooper pulls guard, and Grove can't manage to do any more damage. Grove tries to passes Kimura and North-South chokes, but can't get them done. End of the round.
Grove 20-17
Round 3 :Cooper comes more aggressive, trying to finish the fight. But, he opens his chin and Grove connect with a powerful uppercut for the knockout.
Kendall Grove def. Brett Cooper via Round 3 Knockout (Good)
Light Heavyweight Bout; Brad Naess (6-4, 6-4 BMMA) vs (#16) Karl Albrektsson (15-4, 3-0 BMMA)

Naess has 4 submission finishes in 6 victories. His armbar victory against Illir Latifi earned him a SOTN. Albrektsson is on a 5 victories streak, with a head kick knockout at Bellator MMA 162 against Jan Blachowicz
Round 1 : Both guys stands and trade, with Albrektsson getting the best of it. Fans seems to like what they see as fighters goes in their corners.

Round 2 : After nice shots by Albrektsson on the feet, Naess brings the fight to the ground with a takedown. They stay in the guard the rest of the round.

Round 2 :Gracie tries to take the fight down again, but Ma defends it. Back on the feet, Ma unleash a vicious right, knocking Gracie out cold.

Another Gracie fighting on the card, his last loss came to the hand of Mickey Gall at Bellator MMA 243. Since, he won his last 3. Camozzi is a newcomer with the organization, he signed from LFA not so long ago. He won the two fights he had in this organization.
Round 1 :The two fighters trades a bit on the feet, then Camozzi manage to Slam Gracie to the ground. Camozzi finishes the round on top, getting this round.
Camozzi 10-9
Round 2 :The BJJ guy is surprising on the feet, and gets nice shots against Camozzi. With 15 seconds to go, Camozzi gets dropped, but Gracie doesn't have the time to end it here.

Round 3 :Gracie lands some hits, but Camozzi gets a late takedown, and may have steal the round for the judges.

Two of the best flyweights of the world fight each other in what we can call a title eliminator. The winner will likely fight Sergio Pettis later this year. Higo already fought Pettis when he wasn't the champ, and lost by TKO. Horiguchi already lost two times to the champ.
Round 1 :The round is mainly played against the fence, where we see dirty boxing and wrestling for at least 4 minutes

Round 2 :Higo changes strategy and strikes with Horiguchi, and gets good shots.
Higo 20-18
Round 3 :Higo completly dominates Horiguchi in all aspects of this fights, and secures the win.

Akram is a pretty promising prospect. He has 3 submission wins in the Bellator MMA organization. Ben Reiter finished his last 3 opponents by submission
Round 1 :Despite the fact both guys are ground guys, they exchanges on the feet for the majority of the round. Akram lands a nice head kick who floors Reiter, but he can't finish the fight right here.

Round 2 :After some wrestling on the fence, Akram hits a slam to plant Reiter on the ground.
20-18 Akram

It's time for the main event of the evening. Keven Lee goes for his first title defense of his lightweight strap against contender Sage Northcutt, who is on his first attempt to capture the belt. Lee beat Dan Smalls by unanimous decision in his last fight, while Northcutt finished former champ Michael Chandler. Northcutt has lost only one fight since 2019, to the hands of Khabib Nurmagomedov, while Lee last defeat was in 2021 against Kyle Albright when he was in the UFC.

Round 1 :Lee wrestles Northcutt and pushes him to the fence. Northcutt can find a takedown however and finishes the round on top

T.J Dillashaw retires

The 39 years old announced on the Bellator MMA 275 broadcast that he was retiring from the sport. He finishes with a 22-12 record. He is the former UFC Bantamweight champion, but wasn't able to keep the pace all his career. He finishes with a 3-2 record in BMMA.

TJ Laramie out of Bellator MMA on Spike 109

Bad news coming from TJ Laramie training camp, as the young Bantamweight was forced to pull out of his fight in the main event slot of the evening against Michael 'Mayday' McDonald. This was a key matchup for the bantamweight division. Therefore, the fight targeted for Bellator MMA 276 between Cody Garbrandt and Kakeru Fuma has been scraped, and Fuma, #10 ranked in the bantamweight division, will step up to replaces Laramie. Bellator MMA on Spike 109 : McDonald vs Fuma take place in Alabama next week.
