It's Monday Night, we are LIVE on TNT, and that can mean only one thing....it's time for WCW Monday Nitro, and much like last week we are opening with the Titans of Wrestling....unlike last week however, they are in anything but a good mood....

....Russo takes the microphone first, and he's not happy....he says that last week the Titan's came out here and offered Shawn Michaels the opportunity of a lifetime....the opportunity to be a part of THE number one group of professional athletes ever assembled, and no he doesn't mean WCW, he means the Titans of Wrestling....he gave Shawn Michaels the opportunity to stand side by side with greatness....to stand by the side of The Warrior....of Randy Savage....of the living Icon of professional wrestling, Hollywood Hogan....he gave Shawn Michaels the opportunity to be a part of something great, and instead he wants to play wingman to Jean Paul Levesque.....well that's fine....he can go and be best buddies with Levesque....they can stay up all night talking about boys, he can hold Levesque's hair for him when he's had too much to drink and he's vomiting in the toilet.....they can paint each other's nails, they can do whatever the hell they want........in their own time.....not on Russo's time....

"....because Shawn, if you don't have a contract with the Titans of Wrestling....if you don't have a contract with WCW....then bro, you can just stay at home and watch Nitro on TV like the millions of other losers are doing right now....because if you don't work here, then you ain't welcome here....."

....Russo says that if Michaels won't play by the Titan rules, then he can watch from the sidelines as the Titans dish out their own brand of justice.....because tonight, it's Titans Revenge, and the Titans are feeling particularly vindictive....he calls out the names of the wrestlers who came out at the end of last weeks show to prevent the Titan's from putting Diamond Dallas Page firmly in his place....he says that if they want to stick their noses in Titan business, then tonight they have to pay the Titan price.....

....and since we are (sort of) on the subject of Diamond Dallas Page, Hollywood takes the microphone to say that of all the people to win last weeks number one contender fatal four match, Hollywood couldn't think of an easier opponent that Diamond Dallas Page....he says that the Titans have been proving for months now that DDP is nothing more than a wannabe.....he WANT'S to be relevant....he WANT'S to be a star....he WANT'S to be thought of in the same breath as a Randy Savage....a Warrior.....a Hollywood Hogan.....

"....well let me tell you something brother....you can WANT to be a mega star all you want dude, but when it comes to the world of professional wrestling Hollywood Hogan is head and shoulders above the competition jack....and just like the Warrior showed you at Halloween Havoc, the Icon of wrestling, Hollywood Hogan is going to show you again at Mayhem, that you just don't belong brother....."

....and just like Dallas Page doesn't belong, Hogan says that Shawn Michaels doesn't belong either....so if the pretty boy "rocker" knows what's good for him, he'll stay far away from WCW, and far away from the Titans of Wrestling.....

....Macho takes the microphone there, and while he's always been somewhat of a loose cannon, he's clearly not taken Shawn Michaels shunning of the Titans very well either....he basically emphasises what Russo and Hogan said before him, that Michaels made the biggest mistake of his life by rejecting the Titans.....

.....and the biggest mistake is the biggest mistake, yeah, but if you show your face in WCW again, then that's a bigger mistake than your biggest mistake, yeah...."

.....Macho says that the Titans are going to erase a few mistakes tonight....the Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling are going to put a bump in the road of The Road Warriors.....the Totally Awesome Trinity are going to squash three bugs, Big Bad Buff is gonna conquer the unconquered.....and The Warrior is going to send Rikishi on the first boat back to the islands....

....Russo says that the Titans will have revenge tonight, when they make an example out of each and everyone who thought that they could stand up to the power force around here....

".....so Shawn Michaels, watch and learn bro.....and remember one thing, you're only a footnote in professional wrestling history....a footnote who only had his fifteen minutes of fame because VINCE RUSSO made it happen......in the WWF I made you....but if you keep p!ssing me off bro, it'll be in WCW that I beak you....."

....with that it looks like the Titans have made their point, and they make their way to the back....well, except for the Warrior who doesn't seem to be going anywhere.....

....Russo tells him to come on, they're done here, but the face painted Titan doesn't budge, and stares a hole through the Booker Man until Russo finally takes the hint.....he says that Warrior doesn't want to be wasting any more of his precious time on that fat assed Samoan Rikishi than he has too....so Big Man, get that Big Ass out here right now.....because that match is next.

Titans Revenge Match

Apparently The Warrior doesn't feel like walking to the back, only to have to come ALL the way back down to the ring later for his match against Rikishi Fatu....so whether 'Kishi is ready or not this match is happening now.....

....Warrior is one strong S.o.B.....one of the more powerful competitors in the WWF....good job too, because he's going to need every ounce of that strength to shift the weight of the big Samoan.....

....if you were expecting a catch as catch can classic here then, well, what's wrong with you for one....and for two, you were going to be very disappointed.....this is two men, both powerful for very different reasons (Warrior his physique, Rikishi for his sheer mass) and they just punched and kicked the crap out of each other....the Warrior actually seemed as a loss as to what to do with Big 'Kish at one point, after all, he was never going to get him up for the Gorilla Press......fortunately help was at hand.....

.....in the form of Titan Team-mate Buff Bagwell......

.....with Warrior down on the mat, and Rikishi up straddling the second rope (looking to hit that Banzai Drop inspired Samoan Splash) Buff hops up onto the apron and starts hurling insults at Rikishi....obviously he's never heard the phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names...etc, etc...." because Big 'Kish just shrugs the insults off.....it DOES however cause enough of a distraction that the Warrior is able to get back to his feet and hook hold of the Big Samoan, hoisting him off the ropes with all his might, dropping him with not a German Suplex exactly, but a variation of it similar to Shawn Michaels original "Teardrop Suplex".....that puts Rikishi down long enough for Warrior to run the ropes, before crashing down with the Running Splash for the one, the two, and the three.

Winner: The Warrior
Rating: B

Rikishi gets dumped out of the ring by a cackling Buff Bagwell, who raises the Warrior's arm in victory.....if this truly is a night centred around the Revenge of the Titans, then they couldn't have got the night off to a better start, because Rikishi is a big, big, man to put down, but the Warrior has the victory, regardless of the dubious manner in which he earned it.......of course The Warrior isn't the only Titan in action tonight......

.....and much like The Warrior, it doesn't look has though Bill Goldberg has ANY intention of waiting around in the back when tonight's opponent is already in the ring.....

.....that now familiar music begins to play, and the rookie (that Bobby Heenan has been casually dubbing 'da man on commentary in recent weeks) makes his way down the aisle, not even hesitating at the sight of two Titans inside the ring.....

.....Schiavone says he's not sure that climbing into that ring with two members of the Titans of Wrestling stood there is such a good idea, while Heenan says that he doesn't think Goldberg would hesitate if there were twenty-two members of the Titans of Wrestling in the ring, let alone two.....

.....he doesn't hesitate either....he climbs right through the ropes and walks straight up to the Warrior, staring him dead in the eye, while the Warrior stares right back in a rather tense moment that is only broken when Buff slaps his Titan pal on the back, telling the Warrior to head to the back, because Buff is going to break this chump in about two minutes.....

.....Warrior slowly turns to look at Bagwell, with the expression on his face saying that he doesn't share Buff's confidence in himself with him, but at the end of the day he's had his match (and pay day) so if Bagwell wants to face the rookie by himself then so be it.....and after pausing for another brief face off with Goldberg, Warrior takes himself to the back, leaving Buff Bagwell to go one on one with the undefeated Bill Goldberg.....

Titans Revenge Match

Bill Goldberg has pretty much kept himself to himself since his arrival here in WCW.....he's had the odd limited programme, but even those have been against predominantly Tag Team wrestlers (The Amazing French Canadians and The Faces of Fear for example)....last week was his first real statement of intent, when he made his way out at the close of the show to stand shoulder to shoulder with his WCW peers, and by proxy, stood AGAINST the Titans of Wrestling.....

....that brings him to tonight, on the Titans revenge list and up against Buff Bagwell, who is quite possibly the biggest "name" he's faced to date.....sure Goldberg has picked up victories against tougher men (Meng and The Barbarian instantly spring to mind) but neither of those men are exactly in their prime, and they certainly aren't on the rise....Buff Bagwell however is just 27 years of age, and since aligning with the Titans of Wrestling, has seen his stock skyrocket from "one to watch" to an almost "can't miss" prospect.....he's a damn good heel too, because he's a cocky, arrogant, pr!ck that's easy to hate....I suppose you can kind of understand why he didn't think he'd need The Warrior to stick around to put an end to this little winning streak......

.....unfortunately, Buff found out exactly the same thing that 41 men before him found out the hard way.....one Spear and one Jackhammer equals one, two, three.....and after wins on Saturday Night and War Room (and despite Buff being anything but pleased to do it) it means victory number 42 for Bill Goldberg.....that's 42-0 for those keeping score at home.....and the Titans Revenge turns into Buff Bagwell's Nightmare, and we go to a hype package for WCW Mayhem, highlighting Diamond Dallas Page's first shot at the WCW Title.

Winner: Bill Goldberg

We come back from that promo to an erupting arena......why are they erupting?.....well that might have something to do with the fact that Shawn Michaels is making his way through the crowd......

.....Schiavone loses his mind as the hottest free agent in professional wrestling makes his way through the braying masses, until he finally comes to a halt at an empty seat right there on the front row.....and after hamming it up for the camera a little bit he sits down right there with the fans.....apparently Shawn Michaels is here to watch the show.....

Rating: N/A

Quote:

VS.

.....he hasn't picked a bad time to join us either....because he's about to be electrified by the most electrifying man in sports entertainment, The Rock.....and Jeff Hardy of course, who might not have the most electrifying of promo, but can certainly bring the excitement with his in ring work.....

....their opponents? Well we know they are facing the Forgotten, we just weren't sure which members, but we soon find out that it's Kevin Sullivan and Bam Bam Bigelow stepping up to the plate (which means it will be Big Van Vader facing Jean Paul Levesque later in the evening)....

....all four men walk slowly past Michaels there on the front row as they make their entrances....The Rock has never faced Shawn Michaels, and neither (I don't think anyway) has Jeff Hardy, but these two have certainly seen up close and personal what Michaels can do....

.....The Forgotten however stop for a a good long look at Shawn....after all, he is the epitome of everything they are fighting against.....after Hardy, Rikishi, Rock, Storm, Copeland, Cage....even Levesque to a point....Shawn Michaels is just another in a long line of Titan Sports (former) employees looking to take their spot on the card....and they tell him as much, letting him know that they will take him out too, much like The Rock and Jeff Hardy are about to get taken out.....as Shawn is quick to point out however, he's not here to take anyone's spot....he's not even employed by WCW....he's just here to watch the show like everyone else in the crowd......

....Sullivan doesn't believe him in the slightest....and unfortunately, for a man dubbed the Games-master because of his ability to play mind games with his opponents, his doubt of Michaels is to his detriment here, because while he is out on the floor (yet again for the umpteenth time during the match) giving the former WWF Champion a talking to, Jeff Hardy comes flying over the ropes with a Springboard Splash that sends Sully crashing into the crowd rail....and The Rock drops Bigelow with the Rock Bottom inside the ring.....Rock may be facing Vader at the upcoming Mayhem event, but tonight he's defeated Bigelow (and Sullivan) and that's got to put the momentum on his side.

Winner(s): The Rock & Jeff Hardy
Rating: B

Quote:

Sullivan and Bigelow are far from happy about this loss.....and as The Rock and Jeff Hardy make their way to the back, Sully helps Bammers back to his feet, and the two Forgotten men head over to the front row to confront Shawn Michaels.....

....to be fair, Shawn in no way was responsible for that loss, he was literally just sat there at ringside watching the show....Sullivan clearly doesn't see it that way though, and it looks as though this "fan" is about to be on the receiving end of a good old fashioned beating.....

......fortunately help is at hand, in the form of Vince Russo, who has Doug Dillinger and his crack security team in tow....

.....it doesn't seem as though he's here for The Forgotten however, as he bypasses Sullivan and Bigelow and goes right up to Shawn Michaels.....

.....he tells Michaels that he thought he'd made himself clear.....Mr. Michaels is NOT an employee of WCW.....Mr. Michaels is NOT a Titan of Wrestling.....therefore Mr. Michaels has NO business here tonight....is trespassing at a WCW event....and as such is NOT welcome.....so Russo suggests that the (former) Heartbreak Kid should leave the building, before Russo has security physically remove him.....that or let Sullivan and Bigelow here finish what they looked like they were about to start, and beat him out of the building.....

....Shawn hardly seems phased....in fact, he has a pretty big sh!t-eating grin plastered on his face throughout Russo's tirade, much as he had a pretty big sh!t-eating grin plastered on his face throughout Sullivan and Bigelow's intimidation tactics a few moments ago.....he takes the microphone from Russo, saying he had a feeling that something like this would happen....before reaching into his jacket pocket and pulling out one genuine front row WCW Monday Nitro ticket....he says that's why he paid the big bucks for the hottest ticket in town.....

....Shawn says that he's here tonight as a spectator (notice he didn't say fan?) he's here to watch his pal JPL wipe the floor with one of these Forgotten chumps....the one with a muzzle he guesses.......he says that he's done nothing but sit here and watch the show, so no, Russo won't be escorting him out of the building, and no, Sullivan and Bigelow won't be so much as harming one hair on his chinny chin chin, because while Ted Turner might have more money than Jesus, Shawn is fairly sure that he wouldn't want the hefty lawsuit that would be heading his way should two members of his roster assault a helpless member of the public.....

"....hell Vinny, they'd give me so much money, I might even end up being your new boss....now wouldn't ya just love that?.....so what I suggest you do, is scurry on back to the locker rooms there, and go back to doing what you do best.....suckling at the teat of Hollywood Hogan....and let me get back to watching my 'Rassling dag-nam it....."

.....Sullivan and Bigelow don't seem to give a damn about assaulting a "member of the public" but words like "lawsuit" have a tendency to make members of management nervous....and reluctantly (and with a great deal of difficulty) Russo manages to convince The Forgotten that it would be in their (and his) best interest to head to the back, and indeed leave Shawn to watch his "Rassling"......

So, Curt Hennig gets a second bite of the cherry here when it comes to challenging for the WCW United States Championship....he was quite literally one second away from capturing the gold at Halloween Havoc, until Eddie Guerrero took the phrase "Champions Advantage" to the limit, intentionally getting himself disqualified to save his title.....

....Eddie may well have thought that was that as far as Curt Hennig was concerned....Curt Hennig had other ideas....and so did Eric Bischoff, as the public face of the WCW Championship Committee made this match tonight official.....

....and so with much reluctance, Eddie once again puts the gold on the line against the man once christened as the "Perfect" superstar.....of course, if you ask Eddie, HE'S the Pappi of Perfection around here, and if you look at his laundry list of opponents since his championship reign began, he may be right.....

....Guerrero hardly fights this match fairly....flaunting the rules openly at times while encouraging the official to go ahead and disqualify him....perhaps because of the outcome of these two men's previous encounter however, this referee appears to be more lenient than usual, and because of this the two men find themselves pushing the boundaries on the outside, battling it out on the floor....

......Hennig bounces Guerrero's skull off the ringpost, then drives his spine into the ring apron....the US Champion collapses in a heap on the floor, but Hennig has no sympathy, dragging Eddie to his feet and going to toss him back into the ring......except he doesn't....because Eddie reverses it, rolling Curt back into the ring as the official makes a count of nine.....

.....Eddie looks at Hennig....looks at the official....smirks....and drops back to the floor clutching at his ankle.....and as Hennig shouts at the referee not to do it, unfortunately the rules are the rules.....and as that count of nine turns into a count of ten, again Curt Hennig defeats the United States Champion.....but again, one second was all that Eddie Guerrero needed, to walk out of here tonight as STILL the WCW United States Champion.

Winner: Curt Hennig (via Count-Out)......however, Still WCW United States Champion....Eddie Guerrero
Rating: B+

Eddie Guerrero's sudden ankle injury makes a very rapid recovery, as the champion grabs his title belt and hightails it to the back, leaving a frustrated Curt Hennig watching on from the ring....

....we leave Curt there, and head to the back ourselves....where Mean Gene is standing by with the Total Package Lex Luger....

....before the interview takes place however, Mean Gene has bills to pay and a hotline to shill....which is why if you call 1-900-909-9900 right now, you can hear the inside scoop on things like Curt Hennig taking young Jeff Hardy under his wing, option 1 will let you know all about that and exactly WHAT psychology tips he was passing on to the young star before Nitro came on the air......option 2 will give you all the scoop on Bobby Eaton and Gideon Cain's blossoming student/teacher relationship, with Bobby passing on tips on selling to Missy Hyatt's monster......option 3 is a good one.....because option 3 will tell you the stories that the WWF won't....mainly the fact that their stellar legal department let the contract of midcarder Justin Credible lapse, without even offering an extension.....and as of tonight, that young man is a free agent (yeah that's true....I didn't even realise Credible's contract was expiring....whoops, he's gone).....all that and more on the WCW Hotline.....

....with the cheap plugs out of the way, Gene finally turns his attention to his guest....he tells Lex that it would seem to him (following both the events of Halloween Havoc AND last weeks four way number one contenders match) that the friendship between The Total Package and The Giant, is well and truly in the rear view window.....

....Lex disagrees.....he says that at Halloween Havoc, he could have taken the easy victory, and pinned his unconscious friend (following Sting's assault of The Giant), while last week was simply the heat of competition and the desire to become the number one contender to Hollywood Hogan's title.....Lex says that there is no reason that he and the Giant can't put all this behind them, shake hands....and move on with their lives and their friendship.......

.....well.....judging by the fact that the Giant storms into shot and drives an unsuspecting Lex Lugers head against the concrete wall, it's safe to say that he doesn't agree.....

.....Lex is totally blindsided here, and knocked half stupid by the concrete he's in little condition to fight back, leaving the Giant to brutalise him, culminating with the seven footer wrapping his hand around the throats of Luger, and hoisting him high up into the air in position for the Chokeslam.....instead of driving Luger down to the ground however, he drives him backwards and slams him hard against the wall......

.....Luger hits the floor anyway, it's the only place he has to land after all, and as he's flat on his back the Giant places one huge foot on his chest, using him as a stepping stone as he walks off in the same direction he arrived, telling Luger to "....move on with that...." as he goes.....

.....and the Totally Awesome Trinity walk into shot, presumably on their way to the ring for their upcoming match.....

"....dude, that looked like it totally sucked!......hey Gene...."(Copeland clears his throat and adopts a 'announcers' voice)"....and don't forget folks, that's 1-900-909-9900 for all the dirt.....like option 4, where you can hear all about how Lex Luger Totally just cracked his ass landing on this concrete floor.....and kids, don't worry about getting your parents permission....not unless you're a total loser anyway....."

....Copeland slaps Gene on the back, telling him that should get him a few more calls, before the Trinity head off towards the ring area, leaving a shell-shocked Mean Gene to stare down at the battered Lex Luger, before looking up to watch the Titan men go.....

".....erm....thanks....back to you Tony....."

Titans Revenge Match

Adam Copeland and Christian Cage have seen their careers skyrocket since their arrival here in WCW....they have literally gone from WWF (lower) Midcarder's to (WCW level) Main Eventers in a few short months.....they're members of the most dominant faction in WCW, The Titans of Wrestling (rubbing shoulders with the likes of Hollywood Hogan & Randy Savage) and have formed a Sub-Faction with the unlikely partner of Ray Traylor in the surprisingly entertaining Totally Awesome Trinity....they've captured the WCW Tag Team Titles, and been involved in (the rarely seen here in WCW) A graded matches......in other words, they're doing pretty damn good for themselves......

....their opponents? Not so much.....this was a glorified squash match......Finlay, Juvi and Disco got some limited offence in, but it was exactly that....limited.....and Traylor picked up the pinfall at around the eight minute mark, after finishing off Disco with the Enforcer (Boss Man) Slam....

....revenge has been dished out here, and thus far the only Titan with a blemish to his name tonight is Buff Bagwell, as the Totally Awesome Trinity head to the back (with Ray Traylor being sure to let Shawn Michaels know as they pass him, that the only reason he's not kicking his ass, is because Vince Russo asked him not to) and we go to commercial.....

Winner(s): The Totally Awesome Trinity
Rating: B

Quote:

....and when we come back from commercial, it's in the locker room of the Titans of Wrestling....and things are rather tense to say the least....obviously Shawn Michaels arrival this evening was an eventuality that the Titans hadn't prepared for, and the fact that he's here in an unofficial capacity presents Vince Russo with some difficulties.....after all, as Michaels quite rightly pointed out, WCW wrestlers attacking paying members of the audience is a huge lawsuit waiting to happen.....

....most of the Titans don't see what the problem is.....after all, Ted Turner has plenty of money, he's probably got enough cash lost down the side of his sofa to cover any lawsuits....Russo is adamant though.....saying that as long as Shawn Michaels is minding his own business in the crowd, he's completely off limits....which leaves Christian Cage to wonder out loud "...what if he wasn't in the crowd?..."

....Hogan says that's a very good question.....after all, it's somewhat of an unwritten rule in wrestling, that the minute a fan jumps that rail he's fair game, after all, for all you know he could be armed with anything......

....Russo ponders that for a moment, before finally breaking out into a smile, saying that he can work with that.....now all they need is a reason for Shawn Michaels to impulsively jump that safety rail......and since Buff is the only Titan to fail in his Titan's Revenge match, then maybe HE should be the one to do the provoking.....and guess what, Shawn Michaels close personal friend Jean Paul Levesque is in action.....next.

Rating: B+

Quote:

VS.

Jean Paul Levesque is indeed in action next.....and since Kevin Sullivan and Bam Bam Bigelow competed earlier in the evening, it's probably no surprise to anyone to find out that his opponent is the former WCW Champion Big Van Vader.....

....JPL makes sure to go over and greet Michaels, as Shawn wishes his friend luck against the mountain of a man....Vader surprisingly is out all alone for this one, but we soon find out why, when Bobby Heenan informs us that his "sources" have told him that Vince Russo has ordered that the remaining Forgotten members remain in the back.....apparently Russo doesn't trust them to remain disciplined enough not to assault "member of the public" Shawn Michaels, thereby setting the lawyers on him and WCW.....

....Levesque has had some pretty good matches in the last 4-6 weeks....nothing groundbreaking (but then few WCW matches are....yet) but solid enough that he's been in the match of the night on a number of occasions.....this wasn't one of them....in fact this was pretty poor considering the names involved, but then Vader is about 5 years past his spectacular 1992 form, and some what of a fat piece of sh!t (heh, there's a Russo classic) which means he can't go too long before he's sucking air.....he still looks like someone you'd want to avoid in a dark alley mind you.....

.....with a showdown with The Rock on the horizon Vader needed a decent showing here, and while the match wasn't great, Levesque actually made Vader look pretty dominating for a good portion of the match, crushing JPL with his (ample) weight....Corner Avalanches, Splashes and Powerslams were the moves of choice for this Big Man.....but with Shawn Michaels cheering him on from the front row, Levesque was able to fight his way back into this, and even got the Masked (muzzled) Man into position for the Pedigree.......

.....not that he got to hit it....because Buff Bagwell comes bounding out from the back, slides into the ring, and nails Levesque in the back of the head/neck with a clothesline.....ding, ding, ding....that's a disqualification folks.....

Winner: JPL (via Disqualification)
Rating: B-

Quote:

.....and the beatings don't stop just because the match has....because after being taken out from behind, Jean Paul Levesque is in a prime position for a Buff Beat Down, as Bagwell proceeds in stomping the fallen former Titan down on the mat.....

....Vader doesn't look overly thrilled at the fact Buff Bagwell just cost him this match (hey, he might have kicked out of the Pedigree) but a fallen JPL is obviously too good of an opportunity to pass up.....after all, it was arguably Levesques entry into WCW that opened the floodgates for these slew of new arrivals, he's Patient Zero as far as the Forgotten are concerned, and if Vader can put him out for good here then so be it.....

....Shawn Michaels is getting twitchy on the front row as Vader and Bagwell assault Levesque, a fact that Buff clearly spots as he begins taunting the spectator, egging him to get into the ring.....and finally, (as Bagwell is posing for the crowd and Vader is up on that second rope looking for that Vader splash) he hops the rail.....slides into the ring.....and knocks Buff Bagwell's head off with the Sweet Chin Music, before charging Vader and sending him tumbling over the turnbuckles and down to the floor.....

.....perfect.....that's exactly what the Titans wanted to happen.....and now that Shawn Michaels is standing in the ring he's no longer a "spectator", he's a target......and a target they plan on taking out......

.....but not before security (lead by Eric Bischoff) rushes down the aisle, straight past the Titans.....and into the ring where they circle Shawn Michaels.....

.....Russo asks Bischoff just what the hell he's doing, but Eric says he'd think that was obvious....he's escorting this rowdy "fan" from the building right now....and as Levesque follows them, halfheartedly "protesting", a smirking Shawn Michaels is lead away......not up the aisle to where the Titans are standing, but back into the crowd from which he came, presumably to be ejected from the building.....

.....the Titans are furious.....watching their plan to get their hands on Shawn Michaels go up in smoke, leaving them with nothing more than an unconscious Buff Bagwell....Russo says he knows what Bischoff is doing.....he's protecting Shawn Michaels.....he's protecting him in the hope that the so called hottest free agent in wrestling today will sign his name on the dotted line and join up with WCW......well that's fine "bro", good luck with that.....but Vince Russo wields the power around here.....and as far as Vince Russo is concerned, Shawn Michaels is hereby BANNED from attending ANY World Championship Wrestling event.....and since he just attacked an ACTIVE member of the WCW roster, he is perfectly within his rights to do that.....

.....and since the gang's all here, let's get this tag team match over and done with.....because just like Diamond Dallas Page will be at Mayhem, the Road Warriors are about to feel.....Titans Revenge.....

Titans Revenge Match

If our last match was poor, this one wasn't much better.....I REALLY expected more from these two teams......THE team of the 80's and 90's vs. THE face of professional wrestling in the 80's and 90's .....but in reality, we got four men who are all past their prime, trying to follow a segment they were never going to be able to follow.....

.....this match would have been HUGE ten years ago, so what was to blame? Well.....the Road Warriors have had great (B+) matches with Mike Awesome and Gideon Cain, not to mention the near match of the night at Halloween Havoc when they fought Awesome, Cain, Copeland and Cage in a fantastic (A) match......Randy Savage has been arguably the highest rated performer since Russo's arrival, putting out more A graded matches that the rest of the Titans combined......so who does that leave?.....well, I'm not one to point fingers, so I'll let you draw your own conclusions.....

....needless to say the match suffered by a lack of selling (go figure) as these four men beat on each other.....the Road Warriors have had their problems with the Titans for the best part of four months now with the Titans determined to take those WCW Tag Titles for themselves (a feat that they finally accomplished at Halloween Havoc) and tonight they were successful again.....Hawk and Animal were always going to struggle since the entire Titans of Wrestling group were at ringside.....and it was Adam Copeland nailing Animal in the back of the head with the tag title belt that lead to the Legdrop of Doom for Hollywood, and the one, two, three for the Mega Powers of Professional Wrestling.....

Winner(s): Hollywood Hogan & Randy Savage
Rating: B

.....it's safe to say that the Titans have had their revenge this evening....but it doesn't look as though they're done any time soon....

....the entire group climbs into the ring and begins to put the boots to the former WCW tag team champions....and since this whole night has been about the Revenge of the Titans (and since Levesque and Michaels have been escorted from the building) it doesn't look as though anyone is going to risk incurring the wrath of Vince Russo again by interjecting themselves here.......

.....except one man maybe.....

.....who comes rappelling down from the rafters.....landing right in front of Hollywood Hogan.....

.....the action comes to a standstill as Hollywood begs off....at least until he realises that Sting is SEVERELY outnumbered here.....and a smile breaks out on his face, as the Titans begin to circle Sting......

.....which is when ANOTHER Sting descends from the rafters....this one landing on the outside of the ring, where he climbs up onto the apron....

.....now the Titans are stunned.....two Sting's.....and as Hollywood looks from one to the other, the Sting on the apron pulls out a black bat.....

....and the Sting in the ring grabs hold of Hollywood.....

.....and drops him with a Diamond Cutter......before pulling off what is actually a Sting mask (and wig) to reveal (obviously)......

......Diamond Dallas Page......

.....Hollywood is down, and it takes the Titans a few seconds to process this before they decide to attack, but Page is ready.....Sting has a bat.....and the Road Warriors are back on their feet.....

.....it doesn't take long for the WCW faithful to send the Titans packing, especially with Sting swinging that baseball bat around....and just like that, the Titans Revenge is ruined, because no matter what they do....who they assault.....WCW has ALWAYS got a man waiting to fight.....and that man's name......is Sting.

The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Scott Steiner, Ken Shamrock & Nelson vs. Ahmed Johnson, Brian Pillman, Bret Hart, Jeff Jarrett & Faarooq
Comments: Let's get the giant rumble spot here and end the show in a frenzy

Snow & Candido must win to qualify for the Survivor Series Elimination Match
Al Snow & Chris Candido vs. Ric Flair & Arn Anderson
Comments: Loved the head/Vince segment. Really great. While Arn and Flair are probably old enough to start jobbing now, I think the Outlaws screw over the faces here

The Undertaker, Steve Austin, Scott Steiner, Ken Shamrock & Nelson vs. Ahmed Johnson, Brian Pillman, Bret Hart, Jeff Jarrett & Faarooq
Comments: Shamrock's there to eat a cheap pin amidst the chaos, I feel

Snow & Candido must win to qualify for the Survivor Series Elimination Match
Al Snow & Chris Candido vs. Ric Flair & Arn Anderson
Comments: I flip-flopped on this, but I figure it's the Horsemen's night, while Snow & Candido get to suffer a bit longer

Psycho Sid vs. Rich Steiner
Comments: Remember when Rich Steiner won matches?

WWF Tag Team Championship; Survivor Series Elimination Match Qualifier
Harlem Heat vs. High Voltage
Comments: Erm, I guess this is what happens...

WWF Tag Team Championship; Survivor Series Elimination Match Qualifier
The Headbangers vs. The Dogs of War
Comments: ...when the whole uppercard is in one match.

Nine Circles of Hell Match: Gluttony
Jake Roberts vs. ???
Comments: Gluttony... Someone big, fat... Oh, it's going to be Kokina, isn't it?

Preview for WCW Monday Nitro, Week 3, November 1997

Diamond Dallas Page vs. The Giant
Comments: Titans make their play

Chris Benoit vs. Buff Bagwell
Comments: Sidebar time: Did anyone age more between 1994 and 1997 than Buff Bagwell? You could tell me he was 45 here and I'd believe you. And then the last time I saw him on TV he hadn't changed at all.

Bill Goldberg vs. Lord Steven Regal
Comments: You have a duty with this match, to4sty...

WCW Television Championship Match
Lance Storm (c) vs. Tajiri
Comments: Not that Tajiri is someone to be brushed off, but Lance retains. Maybe not cleanly, maybe not by actually winning either.

The Nasty Boys vs. Mike Awesome & Gideon Cain
Comments: How long's left on the Nastys contracts? Too long!

Rick Martel vs. Big Van Vader
Comments: Vader needs a victim, even if it ain't 1992 anymore.
