Good Presentation is nothing without the writing being good and the writing was good - it's a winner.

WRESTLING OBSERVER NEWSLETTER
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are some interesting tidbit's from Dave Meltzer in his 'Wrestling Observer Newsletter'...
  • Jim Ross's contract is set to expire at the end of the month but I've heard there's mutual interest in a new deal. That said, it appears Ross needs the World Wrestling Federation more than the WWF feels they need the veteran announcer and with little leverage of returning to WCW with their now-stacked announce team, Ross may have to accept a low-ball offer.

  • Feedback for this past episode of Monday Night RAW has been pretty good. The WWF pulled a 2.88 TV rating for the show.

  • WWF creative appears to be making it clear that they'd like to push Adam Bomb but the big man isn't doing himself any favors after showing up late to RAW on Monday night.

  • Thurman "Sparky" Plugg suffered a bruised tailbone in his dark match on Monday Night RAW but it's nothing that should keep him out of action for more than a day or two.

  • The Black Phantom has been hinting to the WWF Creative Team that he'd like a chance to perform further up the card. Phantom has the size and talent, but with the WWF uncertain how to present him to fans, it's hard to imagine a significant push anytime soon.

THE BUSHWHACKERS VS. ADAM BOMB & KWANG
In a poor match, The Bushwhackers defeated Adam Bomb and Kwang in 10:56 when Bushwhacker Butch defeated Adam Bomb by pinfall.
MATCH RATING: 42 D

FOLLOWING THE MATCH...
After Kwang accidentally spit green mist into the face of Adam Bomb for the second time in as many contests, Bomb looks like he's ready to blow! He saunters across the ring with a finger pointed at Kwang before Harvey Wippleman steps between them. He defuses Bomb successfully, but the tension is still evident as the big man from Three Mile Island slams his palms on the ring apron as they exit.
SEGMENT RATING: 62 C

MIKE MARALDO VS. RICK 'THE MODEL' MARTEL
In a terrible match, Rick Martel defeated Mike Maraldo in 6:57 by submission with a Boston Crab.
MATCH RATING: 48 D+

FOLLOWING THE MATCH...
As highlights from Martel's victory wrap up he makes his way up the ramp and bumps shoulders with Duke "The Dumpster" Droese who enters the arena for his next contest. Droese shrugs it off but over his shoulder it's evident by the expression on his face that Martel has gotten a whiff of the garbage man and he waves his hand to dissipate the smell as he continues to the back.
SEGMENT RATING: 65 C

TONY DeVITO VS. DUKE 'THE DUMPSTER' DROESE
In an abysmal match, Duke Droese defeated Tony DeVito in 6:24 by pinfall with a Trash Compactor.
MATCH RATING: 24 E

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RECAP
Highlights from this past Monday Night RAW's main event are shown with the high-flying 1-2-3 Kid and 'The Hearbreak Kid' Shawn Michaels putting on a show. Diesel's interference would give Michaels a window to hit his superkick and earn the win, but the big man would add to the damage by hitting the Jackknife Powerbomb twice before WWF officials stormed the ring. Diesel's words would ring out to the bad guy: “That’s what a real ‘Bad Guy’ looks like! If you want me, come get me!”
SEGMENT RATING: 77 B

ABE 'KNUCKLEBALL' SCHWARTZ VS. RAZOR RAMON
In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Razor Ramon defeated Abe Schwartz in 9:55 by pinfall with a Razor's Edge.
MATCH RATING: 63 C

FOLLOWING THE MATCH...
After the pinfall, Razor kneels next to Schwartz and dusts off his hands before making his way back to his feet. He reaches over the top rope to grab a microphone from the ring announcer: "Hey yo! Big Daddy Cool...I saw what you did, chico. And this Monday Night, I'm coming to RAW, and the 'Bad Guy' is looking for payback!"
SEGMENT RATING: 79 B

WWF SUPERSTARS RATING: 64 C

“The World Heavyweight Champion Bret Hart is in the house and the energy is through the roof! Welcome everyone to Monday Night RAW! Vince McMahon here with the ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage and we’re going to be joined momentarily by ‘The Hitman!’”

“Ooooh yeah, Vince, listen to this crowd! ‘The Hitman’ is in the house and I’m told he’s got a lot to get off his chest!”

The guitar squeal of Bret’s music hits and the crowd goes nuts as ‘The Hitman’ makes his way down to the ring in blue jeans, a leather jacket, and pink shades with his World Heavyweight Title belt around his waist.

Bret enters the ring as the arena dims and spotlights highlight the champion as he hypes the crowd. Bret grabs a microphone.

“You know I’m starting to see a trend here…”

He pauses and soaks in the crowd chanting his name.

“I’m starting to see a trend here. The more I accomplish here in the World Wrestling Federation, the more people seem to want to take a shot at me. And you know what it comes down to? Jealousy. Long-time, so-called friends. Family, my own flesh and blood. It doesn’t matter. But I guess that’s the price to pay for being the best in the world.”

Bret continues to speak but is interrupted by Owen Hart’s entrance music. Owen and Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart make their way through the curtain and down the aisle to a chorus of boos. They climb in the ring where Owen grabs a mic. Owen and Bret have a heated exchange.

“I already beat you Bret! I’m the better brother, and I’ve already proven that. I want the title shot I deserve, and I want it now! Or are you too much of a coward to put your belt on the line tonight?”

Neidhart laughs and claps his hands, taunting Bret.

“I’ve always been a fighting champion. That’s what you do when you’re the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. I’ll put my title on the line. But it’s not going to be against you, Owen.”

Owen stomps his feet on the mat like a child.

“No. I’ve got a bone to pick with YOU, Anvil.”

Neidhart quickly turns and stares intensely at Bret.

“So what do you say, Jim? You and me, here tonight?”

“I carried you for years, Bret, without so much as a thank you!” shouts Neidhart, who really only has one volume of voice. “I carried you to the top! And tonight, I’m going to drop you back down to the bottom!”

“You heard it folks! The World Heavyweight Title will be on the line tonight!”

As we cut to commercial, Owen and Neidhart exit the ring while Bret hypes the crowd some more. Owen makes his way back down the aisle with his shoulders slumped, ignoring a high-five from ‘The Anvil.’

SEGMENT RATING: 82 B

As we return from commercial, the disgusting Bastion Booger chows down on a giant hoagie as the Lumbee war cry rings through the arena. The crowd hops to their feet as Tatanka runs down to the ring. He dances circles in the ring but is attacked from behind by Booger who smashes the giant sandwich over the back of his head. Booger lays some forearms into the upper back of Tatanka who dances away and nails Booger with a tomahawk chop as the bell rings.

In a bout that had decent wrestling but didn't have much heat, Tatanka defeated Bastion Booger in 5:34 by pinfall with a Tomahawk Chop.

Comments: Tatanka dominated in what was actually a decent match between two veterans. Booger would attempt to control the pace by locking Tatanka in a seated headlock but Tatanka would power up and fight back, ending the match with a Tomahawk Chop off the second rope.

MATCH RATING: 62 C

As Tatanka celebrates in the ring, the cameras switch to backstage where Razor Ramon makes his way through the locker room area in his street clothes, shoving open doors.

“Big Daddy Cool…Heartbreak Kid…come out, come out.”

“Ladies and gentlemen, up next…’The Bad Guy!'"

SEGMENT RATING: 76 B-

The tires screech and Razor Ramon’s theme music hits as the crowd erupts once again. Razor glides his way down to the ring before climbing in and hyping the crowd with his ‘Bad Guy’ taunt. He grabs a mic from the ring announcer.

“Hey yo…”

Razor taunts Diesel and Shawn Michaels getting big pops from the crowd.

“Big Daddy Cool? It seems to me, you look more like Big Daddy Coward. Jumping the 1-2-3 Kid after a hard-fought match, chico? That’s low, mang. Even for you. Where are your cajones, chico? When you’re ready to come out of hiding, I’ll show you what being a ‘Bad Guy’ is all about.”

SEGMENT RATING: 77 B

Razor exits the ring while McMahon and Savage introduce the next contest.

As Rick ‘The Model’ Martel makes his way down to the ring with the tag team of Timothy Well and Steven Dunn, Well Dunn, McMahon narrates a short video replay of Duke ‘The Dumpster’ Droese’s recent run-ins with Jerry “The King” Lawler and Rick Martel.

“The arena dims and Men on a Mission’s hip hop music rings out. Oscar leads Mabel and Mo down to the ring with Duke ‘The Dumpster’ Droese following behind, slamming the lid of his metal trashcan to the beat.

The trio enters the ring and the three dance to the beat, hyping the crowd.

“I think Duke “The Dumpster” better stick to wrestling, if you know what I mean,” jokes the Macho Man.

The bell rings and Timothy Well and Mo start this one.

In a bout that had sub-par wrestling and little heat, Duke Droese and Men on a Mission defeated Rick Martel and Well Dunn in 9:32 when Mabel defeated Steven Dunn by pinfall.

Comments: Rick Martel starred for the team of Martel and Well Dunn, though he would cowardly tag out any chance that he could anytime Droese or Mabel would step in the ring. Droese would eventually get his hands on Martel but ultimately it would be the big man, Mabel that proved to be too much for the opposing trio as he'd nail Dunn with a big splash and secure the win.

MATCH RATING: 56 C-

As we return from commercial, red carpet and gold furniture adorn the ring as Jerry Lawler’s regal theme plays in the background. Lawler taunts the crowd.

“Grand Forks, North Dakota. By the looks of you people, it looks like those forks are getting a lot of work!”

After taunting the crowd some more, Jerry Lawler invites Ted DiBiase down to the ring. Lawler interviews DiBiase about his recent business dealings, an important conversation from one rich man to another.

“I’ve already shown the world that everybody’s got a price, even the undead. The Undertaker is mine! I own him! And I’ve instructed The Undertaker, to show no mercy as he does the bidding for me and my Million Dollar Corporation that grows bigger by the day. But it doesn’t stop there, King. My biggest acquisition yet is coming, and soon Lex Luger will be another trophy, for the Million Dollar Man’s billion dollar trophy case! Hahahahahaha!”

DiBiase laughs maniacally in the ring.

“Ted DiBiase has put the World Wrestling Federation on notice!” responds McMahon.

Macho Man chimes in, “It’s a scary thought, McMahon. Somebody is going to have to step up and put an end to DiBiase’s Corporation before it’s too late!”

Vince jumps back in, “Ladies and gentlemen, up next, Bret Hart will put his title on the line against his former partner, Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart!"

SEGMENT RATING: 70 C+

The previously unheard heavy riffs of Jim Neidhart’s entrance music hit and he makes his way down to the ring, surprisingly by himself. Neidhart alternates laughs and straight-faced stars as he walks down to the ring. He loosens up in the ring and points at a few random fans insisting they shut their mouths.

The familiar guitar squeal hits again as the crowd jumps to their feet and pops huge for Bret Hart. Bret makes his way down the aisle and climbs in the ring where the referee holds Neidhart back. Bret hypes the crowd before jumping out of the ring and placing his pink shades on the head of a little girl sitting at ringside.

Bret climbs back into the ring and he and Neidhart stand face-to-face. Neidhart strokes his beard as the two talk intensely back and forth. Neidhart shoves Bret who rolls backward, with the strength of ‘The Anvil’ very evident.

The bell rings and the two former partners lock up.

In a bout that had great wrestling and good heat, Bret Hart defeated Jim Neidhart in 15:48 by pinfall with a fast roll up. Bret Hart makes defence number 2 of his WWF World Heavyweight Championship title.

Comments: 'The Anvil' dominated much of this match using his brute strength to overpower 'The Hitman' but Bret's resiliency kept him coming back for more. Owen Hart would slowly make his way down to the ring where he'd eventually play a role in the outcome, jumping on the ring apron to distract the referee from a pinfall attempt. Bret would clock Owen sending him sprawling off the ring apron to the ground below, duck a clothesline from Neidhart, jump on his back and wrap his former teammate up in rolling pinning combination for the win!

MATCH RATING: 87 B+

Bret has his arm raised by the referee but doesn’t get to celebrate for long as ‘The Anvil’ decks him from behind. As Owen comes to on the outside, his face lights up as he sees an opportunity to join in with Neidhart who’s laying the boots to the fallen champion.

“Oh come on!” shouts Vince.

Neidhart pulls Hart to his feet and hoists him up allowing Owen to hit the ‘Hart Attack’, the former Hart Foundation’s signature move. With officials rushing down to the ring, Neidhart fends them off as Owen locks Bret in the Sharpshooter. Bret screams in pain as Owen refuses to relinquish the hold for what feels like an eternity. Owen final breaks the hold leaving Bret Hart holding his knee in the ring.

“This is gutless McMahon! I’ve lost a lot of respect for Jim Neidhart tonight! And Owen, you’re going to get what’s coming to you! I know it!” yells the Macho Man.

Owen raises his arms in celebration as he and Neidhart walk up the aisle.

Officials try to help Bret to his feet but he collapses, unable to stand under his own power, as we go off the air.

SEGMENT RATING: 83 B+

MONDAY NIGHT RAW RATING: 80 B

WRESTLING OBSERVER NEWSLETTER
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are some interesting tidbit's from Dave Meltzer in his weekly 'Wrestling Observer Newsletter'...
  • There were some rumblings that 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper would be inking a longer-term deal with the WWF following his appearance at the King of the Ring last month, but the two parties couldn't come to an agreement. Instead, Piper inked a deal with WCW, adding his name to a long-list of big-name former WWF stars

  • Rumor has it that WWF officials have been very impressed with Mabel, some even going as far to say that the big monster could be one of the WWF's future stars.

  • Feedback from Monday Night RAW this week was positive. The WWF drew a 3.04 rating, up 0.16 over last week. WWF Superstars aired over the weekend and received a 0.32 TV rating.

  • World Wrestling Federation road agent Jack Lanza announced this week that he has accepted an offer to become the head trainer at Dominic DeNucci's Wrestling School. This should not affect his behind-the-scenes work with the WWF.

  • After a talent purge in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, there are rumblings that the WWF is considering bringing in some talent for secondary roles. A couple names that are being thrown around include: Tammy Lynn Sytch and James Van Horn.
