Default wCw in the C-Verse

June 2015

Phone conversation with Ed Monton.

Ed: "... let me get this straight, you want me to be your road agent/trainer for a new promotion you are trying to open up from scratch? A local promotion, that you want to call World Championship Wrestling, based in the southeast region of the United States?"

Me: "Yes... that is correct."

Ed: "Where did you come up with that name?"

Me: "Well, their is a text based wrestling game out there called, "Real Word Wrestling". Not sure why it's called that since it's a fictional universe. Anyway, one of the promotions in the game is called World Championship Wrestling. I thought that was a great name for a promotion and I kind of took it."

Ed: "A game? Seriously?"

Me: "Yeah, I know. But it does have a nice ring to it, right?"

Ed: "And you are going to run two shows a month from the get go? One reocurring event and a second PPV style event, with no PPV?"

Me: "...Yes. I was thinking Mayhem for the reocurring event and then the second monthly event(s) would have different names."

Ed: "You are going to make a lot of people upset when you open a wrestling promotion instead of rebuilding your title belt company."

Me: "I know, but after three catastrophes, to include a server malfunction, an intern overloading the circuits causing a fire and a hurricane, my insurance company has cancelled me after this last pay out."

Ed: "Looking at this small list of workers you are looking at, you'll be bankrupt within a year. Plus, you do realize that I would be your highest paid employee?"

Me: "Yes, I figure I'll lose money for at least the first year, maybe two. But with you training the guys and helping with the matches, I believe that expense will pay off in the long run. Don't look at it as being my employee, but more as a partnership. As a matter of fact, I would welcome any advise you would provide. Title belts I know, the business, not so much."

Ed: "..."

Me: "Look, I have a summer home down here that you could stay in rent free. If nothing else, look at it as a paid vacation.

Ed: "..."

Me: "Ed, take some time to think about it and talk it over with your family. Take a look at the guys I'm looking to start with and get back with me."

Ed: "Fine. I'll get back with you in a few weeks."

Me: "Thanks, that's all I'm asking for. We'll talk later."

Ed: "Ok, good-bye."

Click.

And that was most of the conversation I had with Ed Monton about coming down south and working for me. Eventually, he agreed and came down south around November of 2015 to finallize the promotion. I had met Ed a few years back when I delivered some title belts to CGC right after Alex took over. For some reason, Ed was always around and kept me company while I waited for Alex or his representative. It was during those waiting periods that he and I spoke and became friends, to some extent. He hadn't been my first choice however. I tried the usually suspects, Stately, Nemesis, etc, etc. but they wouldn't have anything to do with me as a boss. It wasn't until I found Ed's number written down in an old organizer that I called him.

OOC: Ok, so I'm not the best when it comes to this game, but I enjoy playing it. I'm the player that takes the default data, creates another "universe" and then adds about 20 OP characters to it just to see how fast I can rise or more for the best grades I could get. However, I started a game as if I was doing a diary and began to write things down and it kind of grew from there. Figured since I was writing it down, might as well share it with whoever might be interested.

So yes, wCw. Yes it is loosely based on the real wCw. Event names, TV names (if I get that far). As Deadpool would say, "that's lazy writing". Yes, that too.

Anyway, there is really no rhyme or reason behind what I'll be doing, but figured I'd put it out here for everyone.

Hope you enjoy.

Thanks,

R

I welcome the fans to World Championship Wrestling. "This is where the Big Boys play"! Fans chuckle at that. "This is wCw Mayhem and will be coming to you every month along with a PPV style monthly event. No more wasting time, right to the action." B

versus
In a bout that had decent wrestling but non-existent crowd heat, Cal Sanders defeated Felipe Caballero in 8:07 by pinfall with a Frog Splash. D-

Riley McManus and Jack Avatar had an interview hyping their upcoming tag match with Ray Snow and Austin Smooth. Fairly generic. E+

versus

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Thomas Morgan defeated Philippe LaGrenier in 14:37 by submission with a STF. E+

versus

In a decent match, Jack Avatar and Riley McManus defeated Austin Smooth and Ray Snow in 25:04 when Riley McManus defeated Austin Smooth by pinfall with a Slingshot Suplex. D-

Riley botched the suplex injuring Austin's shoulder. Smooth was later diagnosed with Chronic Shoulder Pain and was told to rest it for about a month.

Our first show is in the books and I can't complain about how it went other than the injury to Smooth.

On to our second event of the month, wCw Sin.

I welcome everyone to wCw Sin. I explain that Austin Smooth was injured by Riley at Mayhem and won't be competing here tonight. I wish him a speedy recovery and we get right to the action. B+

versus

In a decent match, Cal Sanders defeated Philippe LaGrenier in 8:08 by pinfall with a Frog Splash. D-

versus versus

In a decent match, Jack Avatar defeated Thomas Morgan and Felipe Caballero in 20:28 when Jack Avatar defeated Felipe Caballero by pinfall with an All American Slam (Olympic Slam). D

Prior to his match with Snow, Riley has a mic and says he's sorry about Austin getting hurt. But, (looking directly at me) this is where the BIG BOYS play, so put your work pants on, man up and stop complaining. D-

versus

In a decent match, Ray Snow defeated Riley McManus in 25:25 by pinfall with a Spinning Back Fist. E+ (Ugh!)

Story of the match was regardless of what Riley said, he seemed almost afraid to use his suplex against Snow. Ultimately that hesitation is what cost him the match.

McManus comes to the ring and takes a mic. He again apologizes for Austin's injury and gets interrupted by LaGrenier who steps out from the back. LaGrenier basically mocks Riley and calls him an American baby. Riley appears to snap out of his funk some after that comment. Riley says this baby will see you later tonight. LaGrenier says, in his French accent, "Ooh, a date. You're on big boy". Crowd chuckles at that. E+

In a decent match, Ray Snow defeated Jack Avatar in 19:58 by pinfall with a Spinning Back Fist. D-

versus

In a decent match, Riley McManus defeated Philippe LaGrenier in 14:46 by pinfall. E+ (Ouch, again)

Riley McManus is still in the ring. Austin Smooth runs in and attacks, beating McManus down into the mat to end the show. F+ (Well that didn't go over very well.)

You and the bookers will have to do a little brainstorming for the next show. :-)

Jack Avatar comes to the ring and takes a mic. He starts to give Riley (who's in the back) a pep talk but is interrupted by LaGrenier. LaGrenier asks why is everyone worried about that big baby (McManus)? Jack says LaGrenier wouldn't understand about looking out for your fellow man. LaGrenier justs waves him off. Jack tells LaGrenier he should be worried about tonight, when he faces him. LaGrenier just shrugs and leaves through the curtain. D

versus
Thomas Morgan vs Felipe Caballero

In a decent match, Thomas Morgan defeated Felipe Caballero in 14:48 by submission with a STF. D

versus
Jack Avatar vs Philippe LaGrenier

In a decent match, Jack Avatar defeated Philippe LaGrenier in 24:36 by pinfall with an All American Slam. E+ (Ouch, did not expect that)

I step out from behind the announce table to announce our main event tag match between the team of McManus/Sanders vs Snow/Smooth. The crowd go back and forth between "You're a BABY!" and "Big boy PANTS!" B

versus
Austin Smooth/Ray Snow vs Cal Sanders/Riley McManus

In a decent match, Austin Smooth and Ray Snow defeated Cal Sanders and Riley McManus in 12:08 when Ray Snow defeated Cal Sanders by pinfall with a Spinning Back Fist. D-

Story with this was Riley still trying to apologize to Austin, Austin trying to get at Riley and Snow quietly going about his buisness of pinning Sanders.

Philippe LaGrenier comes to the ring and takes a mic. LaGrenier calls out Avatar, who walks out from the back. LaGrenier says that their last match was a fluke and wants another go. Avatar just shrugs with a small grin on his face. "Sure". D

Philippe LaGrenier versus Jack Avatar

In a decent match, Philippe LaGrenier defeated Jack Avatar in 10:58 by pinfall with a Quebec Arrow (Falcon Arrow). D-

Dane and myself hype up the next match between Riley and Felipe. I make note that ever since injuring Austin, Riley has been off his game. Dane starts to say something and I tell him to "Shut-up! You're from Kansas, what do you know!" Fans: "YOU'RE FROM KANSAS" Clap...Clap...Clap, Clap, Clap! (Repeat) C

Surprisingly, no attack from Austin.

Spring Stampede starts with me in the ring, mic in hand. I announce that tonight is special. Tonight we will have an eight man tournament for this. (I raise the new wCw United States Championship belt).

B (Oooh, Shiny!)

I come back to the ring for a few minutes to prepare for and hype the semi-final matches between McManus v Avatar and Morgan v Smooth. B

Semi-Final - In a decent match, Riley McManus defeated Jack Avatar in 10:16 by pinfall. D

versus
Thomas Morgan versus Austin Smooth

Again I hype the final match for the United States title while letting McManus and Morgan catch their breath. A (Fans are eating this up!)

Myself and the new United States Champion, Thomas Morgan are in the ring. I congratulate him on winning the title. He says, "Thank You." (Man of few words) I go on to put the entire locker room on notice. I tell everyone that numerous new superstars are here to prove themselves. (We are now considered a small promotion) I point to Morgan, "You now have a target on your back. Good luck."
As soon as I leave the ring, the lights flicker off/on and someone slides in behind Morgan wearing a bloodied hockey mask. Dane gasps, "That's MARTYR! Martyr lays Morgan out with a package pile driver that Dane calls the Vengeance Driver. Martyr grabs the US title and stands over Morgan. Martyr tilts his head to the side while staring at the title. The lights then go out and immediately come back on. Martyr is gone and the US title is draped over Morgan. C+ (with me) D (attack)

versus
Remmy Honeyman / Conner Threepwood versus Cal Sanders / Riley McManus

In a decent match, Remmy Honeyman and Conner Threepwood defeated Cal Sanders and Riley McManus in 8:15 when Conner Threepwood defeated Cal Sanders by submission with a Stretch Plum. During the match we also had Austin Smooth distract McManus. D
Smooth did nothing but walk down to the ring. That was enough to distract Riley and keep him away from the corner and miss a Sanders hot tag.

versus
Ray Snow versus K.P. Funk (K.P. Avatar)

In a bout that had a decent reaction from the crowd but sub-par wrestling, Ray Snow defeated K.P. Funk in 15:25 by pinfall with a Spinning Back Fist. D-

versus
Austin Smooth versus Jack Avatar

In a decent match, Austin Smooth defeated Jack Avatar in 15:18 by submission with a Smooth Hold. D-

After the match, Riley enters the ring. Smooth can be seen clinching his jaw and fists as Riley grabs a mic. Smooth just stares a hole through Riley as Riley sighs. "Look, I've tried to apologize to you, but I'm done. At Starrcade, you and I finish this once and for all." As Riley turns to leave, Smooth grabs his arm and turns him around. (Barely audible through clinched teeth), "Last... Man... Standing!" E+

Philippe LaGrenier comes to the ring and makes an open challenge to any of the "NEW GUYS" to come out and face him. A few seconds pass and just as LaGrenier shrugs, Findlay O'Farraday steps out from the back. LaGrenier is shocked. E+

versus
Findlay O'Farraday versus Philippe LaGrenier

In a decent match, Findlay O'Farraday defeated Philippe LaGrenier in 29:50 by pinfall with an Atomic Spinebuster. C-

The story here was LaGrenier running away from Fin at every chance. Eventually Fin caught him and did not let go.

I start the show in the ring, mic in hand. As I start to address the crowd, the lights flicker, then go dark. They immediately come back on as Martyr is looming in front of me. As soon as he tilts his head to the side, I waste no time bolting out of the ring. The lights go back out and then come back on. Martyr is gone and I go check my pants for stains. C+

versus
George Wolfe versus Remmy Honeyman

RD1: In a decent match, George Wolfe defeated Remmy Honeyman in 6:07 by pinfall with a Running Powerslam. D-

versus
Conner Threepwood versus Xavi Ferrera

RD1: In a decent match, Conner Threepwood defeated Xavi Ferrera in 6:19 by submission with a Stretch Plum (Rings of Saturn). D

versus
Thomas Morgan versus Seth Whitehead

RD1: In a poor match, Thomas Morgan defeated Seth Whitehead in 6:57 by submission with a STF. E+ (Don't click at all and it showed)

versus
Findlay O'Farraday versus K.P. Funk

RD1: In a decent match, Findlay O'Farraday defeated K.P. Funk in 8:01 by pinfall with an Atomic Spinebuster. C-

From the announce desk I say that the last 4 matches were round 1 for the new wCw Championship. Just like we did for the US title, except seven of the eight are all new superstars just signed. The eighth contestant is US champion, Thomas Morgan. I go on to say that Morgan was the only one to impress me last month with is title win. He could very well be a double champion after tonight. A (Whoa!!!)

versus
Findlay O'Farraday versus George Wolfe

Semi-Final: In a decent match, Findlay O'Farraday defeated George Wolfe in 9:55 by pinfall with an Atomic Spinebuster. D

versus
Conner Threepwood versus Thomas Morgan

Semi-Final: In a decent match, Conner Threepwood defeated Thomas Morgan in 12:01 by submission with a Stretch Plum. D+

Myself and Dane hype the Last Man Standing match between McManus and Smooth. We go on to say that their feud started back on the first ever wCw Mayhem show in January, when Riley injured Austin with a Slingshot Suplex. C

versus
Last Man Standing Match
Riley McManus versus Austin Smooth

In a decent match, Austin Smooth defeated Riley McManus in a Last Man Standing match in 30:16 when Riley McManus could not beat a ten count. D-
(These two went at it pretty well. Story of this was it still appeared that Riley just gave up at the end. He still seems reluctant to use his finisher.)

wCw Championship Final

versus
Findlay O'Farraday versus Conner Threepwood

In a decent match, Findlay O'Farraday defeated Conner Threepwood in 30:02 by pinfall with an Atomic Spinebuster. Findlay O'Farraday wins the wCw Championship title. D+

Findlay celebrates in the ring with the Championship title. (If you call yelling at the crowd that he's the most dominant wrestler in wCw, celebrating) D-

So for those of you that are reading this, I'm going to go back and re-format the show posts with pics. I've already done the first show, Mayhem and will do the other ones before continuing with this.

Hopefully this will help add to the depth of the posts.

Thanks,

R

Really enjoying what you're doing here -- it's interesting to see all of the WCW properties/names showing up with TEW workers. Makes for a very interesting experience.
