Default GDS games in new $1 bundle

For anyone who hasn't seen it, a bunch of GDS games are among 29 games in a bundle for just $US1.

https://www.fanatical.com/en/bundle/dollar-viva-bundle

The GDS games are TEW 2010, WMMA 3, Wrestling Spirit 3 and Comic Book Hero.

There are a few other management games in there, plus a bunch of hidden object games.

All are Steam keys.

The publishing group for us on Steam sometimes puts some of the older titles in these "bundles". We don't really have any control over it - but it is legit. Yet another reason why we choose not to directly sell our new titles with a publisher on Steam.

Good god, how embarrassing that these great titles got packed alongside these games that I assume are complete and utter sh/t. Are they from the same publisher? How else is it going to be divided equally?

However, it's not illogical to assume it might lure several people to come here and play the successors. Selling Wrespi3 for a couple of cents doesn't make sense, though.

Actually, a number of those games are quite well-reviewed. They’re a niche just like the GDS games are a niche.

As for publishing on Steam, that is a lot easier now than it was a few years ago - for better or worse.

I just picked up the bundle myself; what an absolute steal for some fantastic simulators.

And they're all 5+ years old too. It's not like anyone should really be buying these games over the newer ones anyway. Even the best 3 in the bundle (TEW10 and the two Wolverine Studios games) are vastly outdated even with the next version that is also out of date (13 is infinitely better than 10). Using this as a reason to never sell on Steam is just disingenuous. Now, if they were selling any of the new Wolverine Studios games or TEW16 for a $1 or $10, you'd have an argument.

Careful talking crap about eLicense. They'll just delete this post like they did mine.

Uh, where did I say anything about eLicense? I've actually never had a problem with them, unlike most people here. It's more about the whole point Arlie was trying to make of "See, this is why we can never sell on Steam. They severely discount really old games! The horror!"

Lol that is kind of funny.

A deal like this seems like a no brainer to get, but honestly I'm starting to think it is a bad idea. Do you really trust giving credit card information to a random website on the Internet? Just because they didn't hack some peoples' accounts it doesn't mean they won't hack anyone. It sounds like one of those too good to be true deals.

I've bought from them before with zero issues. They used to be Bundle Stars before changing their name to Fanatical because they wanted to be viewed more as a general game store and not just "come here for cheap bundles". They're on Steam too so they're not a fly-by-night company. The one I'm terrified of buying from is GoG who is based in Russia, and yet tons and tons of people seem to do so safely. And there are pre-paid credit cards you can get if you want to be truly safe.

Hardly a random site; they've been around for six years and have direct deals with publishers (unlike dodgy grey market sites like G2A).

For most people, the deal is not that great at all; they're just to add to Steam game counts and increase rank at Steam Gifts.

Poland, actually, and they're owned by CD Projekt - makers of the Witcher series.

Funny how censorship goes...

It reminds me of the time you told me I was not allowed to speak on a subject because you and I had a different opinion.

I guess it is cool when you try to censor folks but not so cool when it is done to you. Good to know.
