Ok, after playing this game for two years game time I have decided to do a diary. now I've seen other diaries on the board and I decided to do thing a little differently. As always comments are welcome
: From Ashes To ![]() Growing up in Ontario, Canada, Gary Catcher didn’t really have much to do but work minimum wage jobs at fast food restaurants and donut shops. He was getting tired of it so he decided to pack things up and move to another location. Moving to another location is never an easy thing to do so Gary needed to think long and hard about the move but in the end decided to move to Birmingham England. It took him awhile to get settled but once things got turned around and settled Gary was out hitting the bars and trying to have a good time and some idiot decided to get in his face saying that Gary was sitting on his stool. After the two exchanged a few choice words fists started to fly, and before long the entire bar was in an uproar. After things finally settled down with Gary being kicked out of the bar seeing as the locals didn’t take to kindly to his actions. Gary was on his way back to his place when he was approached from behind from a person he had never seen before. “I saw your actions in the bar” the voice stated. The voice sounded pleased, almost amused and was the voice of a man. “Really? I didn’t realize I was being watched.” The man let out a short laugh. “You weren’t being watched until I noticed who you were attacking” “I take it I should know this person?” Gary asked, trying not to sound stupid. “Normally yes, you should, but I can tell you’re not a local so I’ll give you the four-one-one” The man proceeded to inform Gary that the man he got into the bar fight with was fairly popular in the UK and that in the world of professional wrestling he is known as “The Pain From Spain,” his real name being Louis Figo Manico. The man also introduced himself as British Samurai and said that he was to be referred to as Sam. Sam then went on to describe that Louis owns a successful wrestling promotion in Europe known as the UCR, Ultimate Combat Ring. Sam mentioned also that he owns his own wrestling promotion called Ring Of Fire. “I can’t stand that Louis guy and I’m just happy that someone let him have it” Sam stated, sounding almost too proud. “Well I’m just glad I could help” Gary responded, “my name is Gary, it was nice to meet you Sam” “Nice to meet you too Gary, tell you what. You come by the office later on and we’ll discuss business” “wow! Really? I’d love too” Sam then gave Gary directions on how to get to the ROF offices and the two went their separate ways. |

Friday, Week 1, December, 2005 Gary walks into the offices of ROF and the secretary sits him down and says that British Samurai will be with him shortly. After waiting a few minutes this girl comes walking in and enters a room with the door labeled British Samurai. A few minutes later Gary can hear raised voices, between the slams and bangs Gary can hear the odd word, the main topic of discussion seems to be money. After a couple more minutes the door swings open and the same girl walks out followed by British Samurai. “I’m tired of losing money every month Phoebe. I don’t mind a couple hundred, but five thousand is too much. Your done here, I don’t need you any more.” Sam looked furious but when he saw Gary sitting down his expression changed “Gary. Lets hope you fair better then she did” “I hope so too” “Ok here’s the deal I have thirty thousand dollars left in the bank, this time last year I had Sixty-one thousand. Phoebe lost thirty thousand dollars in one year that’s just unacceptable” “If I take a look at the setup she has I might be able to change things around” Gary suggested. Sam then handed Gary a big black book with the word finances written on the front. Gary skimmed through the book with a look of disbelief. “What the hell is she doing?” With Phoebes shows being an hour and a half long the amount of money she had to pay out to the workers was almost double what the income was. Gary then went and made a change so that the shows were only thirty minutes long and only had a small level of hype as opposed to the medium level Phoebe had it set at. And looking at the results of their last show ROF Anything Goes held the Norman Blue Athletic Center (Midlands UK) ROF Anything Goes Tuesday, Week 1, December 2005 Norman Blue Athletic Center Attendance 300 UK Dragon defeated Lance Martin to retain the Ring Of Fire #1 Contender title. C- The Show Stealers defeated Johnny Stones & Don Henderson to retain Tag Titles. C+ K’Lee Hawkins & Stevie Stoat defeated The Wigan Bulldogs. C British Samurai & Billy Robinson defeated Kelly Martin and Chuck Frisby. C- Overall Show Rating C- “Well there will be a little less tag team matches from here on, I can say that” Gary exclaimed as he and Sam continued to discuss business a little further. |

Thursday, Week 1, January 2006 It’s the day of the big event Gary has looked over the roster for the past month to see what ROF has to offer. The main part of the roster technical wrestlers, and some being highly overpaid, Gary decides that he’ll run a test event just to see how things will work out. As the day presses on and it gets closer to bell time, there is some excitement at The Norman Blue Athletic Center, there is about a handful of people kicking around outside, closer to bell time there is about a hundred or so people, or so it looks like at a distance. The bell rings and the show gets underway. The show starts out with The Show Stealers going against Absolutely Flawless. Absolutely Flawless, consisting of the Martin Brothers, Lance and Kelly going head to head with the ROF defending Tag Team Champions, The Show Stealers, consisting of Adam Matravers and Petey Barnes. Lance and Kelly went into this match looking strong and seemed to be really focused, however that didn’t seem to last long as Adam was quickly able to gain the upper hand and Petey was soon to follow. It looked to be that Kelly was off his game which was also affecting Lance, because in the end The Show Stealers were able to pick up the win. Next to step in the ring was a talented individual by the name of Jay B, he was set to go against Rolling Johnny Stones, however at this point and time no one has seen Johnny so Gary had to quickly find a substitute and decided to go with Chuck Frisby. It was quite obvious that these to didn’t get along backstage as it really affected their performance in the ring. In the end it was Jay B who stood victorious. That match was followed by two talented workers Don Henderson and Billy Robinson. The two seemed to work well together as they were able to put on some fairly decent combinations of moves with Don Henderson picking up the win. Next was the main event, where the ROF Champion makes his first defense under Gary’s run as head booker. Stevie Stoat going against a big name in the UK that man being the UK Dragon. This had to be the highlight of the night as the two competitors pulled out all the stops and did their best to please the crowd, and their efforts didn’t go unnoticed. Unfortunately Stevie was unable to emerge victorious and thus we have a new champion, the UK Dragon. ROF January Thursday, Week 1, January 2006 Norman Blue Athletic Center(Midlands UK) Attendance: 199 The Show Stealers defeated Absolutely Flawless C Jay B. Defeated Chuck Frisby D Don Henderson defeated Billy Robinson C- UK Dragon defeated Stevie Stoats for the Ring Of Fire Championship C+ Overall Show Rating C |

((ok this is a past event and I have no way to check the finances so I’ll just make something up ))
Its getting closer to the next event ROF February. Gary is pretty nervous about the booking of his first show but is reassured by Sam and the other superstars that things would turn out ok. Another thing that was getting on Gary’s nerves was rumors that Jay B. was going to sign with UCR and would no longer be able to work for ROF, after the past couple of weeks of not knowing what to expect, Jay finally approached Gary and denied all rumors of him signing with ROF and was able to back up his words by signing a pay per appearance deal exclusively with ROF for a nine month period. After that news Gary was ready to go and started making plans to bring in his cousin Gary Catcher (my own created guy) who is currently working for NOTBPW in Canada. (ok I’ll continue to post small updates like this as well as the results just until I get you all caught up to date with ROF) ROF February Thursday, Week 1, February 2006 Norman Blue Athletic Center Attendance: 216 Lance Martin def Merle O’Curle C- British Samurai def Leo Price C Billy Robinson def Jay B D Kelly Martin def Merle O’curle C- UK Dragon def Stevie Stoat C+ Overall Show Rating C |

As the month pressed on Gary knew he would have problems and that was the fact he had no referee. This came about when Jacob Bailey approached Gary two weeks after ROF February, and after a lengthy discussion Jacob got his point across and stated that due to personal issues at home he would no longer be able to work for ROF.
Gary understood this and was okay to let Jacob go. The problem being that he no longer had someone to referee the matches. Gary decided to call a meeting with the entire ROF roster, at the meeting Gary described the situation that they were in and asked if anybody knew anyone that was looking for work as a referee. One name that was almost unanimous was Pee-Wee Germaine. After learning how to get a hold of Pee-Wee, Gary left a message and awaits a response and wonders what exactly is he going to do. After meeting with Pee-Wee and signing a nine month contract, Pee-Wee introduced Gary to Uppercut Bailey. Bailey has been around the wrestling business for awhile so Gary decided to sign him and asked him to help out with the shows. ROF March Thursday, Week 1, March 2006 Norman Blue Athletic Center Attendance: 194 Walter Morgan def Jay B. C Adam Matravers def Chuck Frisby C- British Samurai def Billy Robinson C- Don Henderson def Kelly Martin C- Overall Show Rating C- |

First of all, YOU STOLE MY EVENT NAMES!!!
Second of all, YAY!!! Even after the blatant theft of names that I actually used for ROF when I was booking them, its nice to see someone doing an ROF diary. I had some good fun playing as them, though my philosophy of "Put British Samurai over" seemed to be going pretty well, I ended up leaving them for other pastures (in Canada actually )I'll be keeping an eye on this to see how it unfolds.
