TEW 05: End of the Golden Era – 1993 Author: Tom Patrick [center] With thanks to: • Lundm for his fantastic work on both TV Networks and Other TV shows. • BiggN for use of his BAM Angle/Storyline modification. • Big thanks to the workers on T-Zone and RaveX, whose stats I modified for the Japanese section. • TNAFAN for his locations file, which is just superb. • Matt Welsh Boi for hosting the scenario so that others can use it. • To Eric Baker for his fantastic Death of the Territories scenario that inspired me to create this. • Finally, huge thanks to the community on www.greydogsoftware.com/forum for their continued support and untold numbers of photos. http://www.self-deceit.com/tew2005.htm Scenario Information: Starting Date: August, 1993 Workers: 705 Locations: 1400 Promotions: 16 Promotion Pacts: 13 Gimmicks: 302 Angles: 930 Storylines: 55 Tag Teams: 145 Stables: 3 Worker Relationships: 335 Titles: 49 Events: 63 TV Shows: 10 TV Slots: 12 TV Networks: 121 Other TV Shows: 80 Promotions: 15 US: East Coast Wrestling Association (Local, Cutting Edge, Mid Atlantic), Eastern Championship Wrestling (Small, Cutting Edge, Tri State) Global Wrestling Federation (Small, Traditional, Mid South), Smokey Mountain Wrestling (Small, Traditional, South East), United States Wrestling Association (Small, Traditional, South East), World Championship Wrestling (International, Sports Entertainment, South East), World Wrestling Council (Small, Hardcore, Puerto Rico), World Wrestling Federation (International, Sports Entertainment, New England). Canada: Border City Wrestling (Small, Traditional, Ontario). Mexico: Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion (Cult, Lucha Entertainment, West Central), Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (Cult, Lucha Traditional, Northern). Japan: All Japan Pro Wrestling (National, Sports Entertainment, Honshu), Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling (Cult, Hardcore, Honshu), Michinoku Pro (Small, Lucha entertainment, Hokkaido), New Japan Pro Wrestling (National, Traditional, Honshu). General State of the Business: • It is a tumultuous time for the companies of Northern America, as each is suffering from a huge slump in the industry. The largest company, WWF, owned by Vince McMahon has seen its assets slowly depleted by constant pressure from the Government regarding charges of sexual exploitation and steroid-abuse. With McMahon concentrating mainly on the inevitable trial, his booking decisions have become suspect. • Whilst WCW were in a far more sound financial position to the WWF, they were also lacking in the creativity department. Following the departure of overly cautious booker Bill Watts, Eric Bischoff was given reigns of the joint largest promotion in North America. Although lacking experience for his new role, Bischoff had the savvy and business-sense to start to turn things around, although the aftermath of the last year arte still plain to be seen. • In the south-eastern independent territories not much has changed as the Jarrett’s and the Lawler’s continue to dominate Memphis. Also Jim Cornette’s traditional Smokey Mountain Wrestling is producing some of the finest southern-style tag wrestling. In the South West, the Global Wrestling Federation is on its last legs after a variety of bizarre booking decisions. It finally seems that the legacy of WCCW is about to be laid to rest for good. • The stagnation of the major two players has left a gap in the industry for the cutting edge attitude that does not rely on overly-muscular performers. In this climate, a new breed of promotion has begun to emerge. Todd Gordon’s Eastern Championship Wrestling is already causing waves with its edgy content, rabid fans and vengeful head booker. Also Eastern Championship Wrestling Association has produced one of the finest crops of young, talented performers in a generation. • In stark opposition to North America, it seems that Japan and Mexico are experiencing something of a renaissance in pro wrestling. Both AJPW and NJPW have the most talented rosters in the world, with fledgling FMW and M-Pro sure to contribute to the future of Japanese wrestling. • CMLL, the oldest professional wrestling company in the world is struggling as the newly formed AAA promotion has stolen most of its top talent and has the edginess to finally kill of the Mexican Behemoth, although the fight is clearly far from won. • In Canada the irrepressible Scott D’Amore has opened his own wrestling promotion in Ontario. BCW is a traditional company that is training the next generation of Canadian superstars. Last edited by TCP1 : 05-23-2006 at 01:42 PM. |

I came here to try and see if there was any early 90's scenarios, preferable 1990-1993, and lo and behold I come across the beta thread and after reading that this actual full game thread. Just wanted to thank you for taking the time and the energy to do this.

WCW's shows are wrong. Both Saturday Night and World Wide were on TBS not TNT. Furthermore I THINK that SN was on Saturday's at 6est/5cst and WW was on Sunday at I believe 6est/5cst at this time. TGC |

Hey, where is the NWA titles. AKA World and Tag Team Titles. I thought in 93 the NWA title was being defended in ECW. Remember Shane Douglas throwing down the title and crowning himself the ECW heavyweight champion. I could have sworn that that was the case in the early 90's. By the way, the senario looks great.
