Of the two title I think OOTP has had the most development in terms of playability. Mogul seems to have had only minor improvements since its founding as far as I can tell.

I played BM for 2 years and thought it was good... until I played the OOTP demo and have never went back to BM since and that has been 4 years ago, starting with OOTP4.

OOTP offers much more of the management side of baseball, much more detailed stats and I think a much better game engine which offers to much more realism and realistic games.

You can set up your league anyway you want and adjust if you want more homeruns you can increase it, you want fewer doubles you can decrease that as well. OOTP offers much more in the sense of mods that others have created to enhance the game even more.

You can now to to this link http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/ootp/ and download the full version of OOTP5 for FREE!!!! to try it out with everything there for you to experiment with.

If you are happy with that OOTP is coming out with a new version this spring which will be even better than OOTP6, I couldn't even start with all the game improvements here but the link I am sure will help you in your choice

I agree with Cooley. BM can't even hold OOTP's jock.

yes. if you want depth and interactive play by play, then OOTP is the way to go. baseball mogul is pretty simple and doesn't really have much immersion. i'd wait for the new ootp that marcus is working on, not sure when it is getting released though.

OOTP5 alone is better than Baseball Mogul.

Not to mention that OOTP6 is even better.

While I know this option wasn't one of the two mentioned I thought I would throw it out there. I enjoy the text sim PureSim Baseball from Matrix Games (http://www.puresim.com). I find it a lot more user friendly and enjoyable than OOTP.

I prebought Puresim and played for an extended amount of time. It is a much improved product, but still feels like a spreadsheet baseball game to me. I could never quite care about my "players" the way that I normally do with OOTP. The constant updates and change over from one publisher to another also got very tiresome.

yeah, I've tried both, but I think bbmogul is slightly more addictive. Have any of you tried 2k6? I know the earlier versions were pretty crappy.

OOTP, no question. I've got several days worth of time invested, and even though I play BBCF predominantly, OOTP still gets a couple of hours a week between my online league and my solo dynasty. BM just never had that spark, and certainly didn't have the in-game immersion where I had control of everything that happened on the field, at least prior to the pitch.

OOTP is king, I did play Diamond Mind Baseball a few years back, even tried a online league with it. Their was something about that game I liked but its preaty pricey if you want to get past season add ons. Also played BBPRO which was before OOTP.

Puresim .. I dont know just found it confusing to get around the game and features.

baseball Mogul bored me to tears much like FOF does.
