Official iMPACT! preview
Source TNAwrestling.com Austin Aries & Rodrick Strong vs. The Diamonds In The Rough (Young & Skipper) – Both of these teams are looking for a foothold in TNA right now and this could be the match that puts them back in the mind of TNA Management. Alex Shelly vs. Jay Lethal – These X-Division stars are ready to make an impression and with Kevin Nash in the corner of Alex Shelly this match could turn ugly. Lance Hoyt vs. Rhino – Hoyt has not been seen in TNA for quite a while now and his return match is not going to be easy. The War Machine Rhino is looking hot after his win against Bobby Roode at Slamiversary. Will he be able to keep the streak going? X-Division #1 Contenders Match Sonjay Dutt vs. Matt Bentley vs. Petey Williams vs. Puma – Since we now have a new X-Division Champion in Senshi, we now need a new #1 Contender. For reasons unknown Samoa Joe has turned down his rematch clause for the Title so TNA Management has taken 4 of the best X-Division stars in TNA and threw them together for this off the charts match up. Monty Brown vs. Bobby Roode – Now that Jim Cornett has officially disbanded Team Canada, Bobby Roode now needs a new direction. Unfortunately for Roode that direction takes him strait into the Alpha Male Monty Browns path. Monty Brown on the other hand is looking to continue is new undefeated streak so he can get back into the World Title picture. NWA World Tag Team Title match AMW (Chris Harris & James Storm) vs. AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels – Americas Most Wanted does not want to wait until Victory Road, they are invoking their rematch clause now! Two combustible elements with Gail Kim in the corner of AMW and Jacky Gayda in the corner of Styles & Daniels could create some problems at ringside. Plus the State Of TNA Address by Jim Cornett will be held with every member of the TNA roster required to attend. The fate of the NWA World Title is still up in the air after Cornett confiscated it at Slamiversary after Jeff Jarrett cheated to win. What will Cornett decide? Turn in to the new 2 hour iMPACT! this Thursday night at 10 to find out! |

Press Conference With New Head Booker Of TNA Highlights
Source TNAwrestling.com TNA held a Press Conference this afternoon before the iMPACT! tapings with their new Head Booker Robert Nigro. Nigro answered some major questions and here are some of the highlights: Someone asked how TNA got the new 2-Hour slot. Robert said that that happened before he was brought in but from what he understands it was just part of the natural evolution. Spike wanted to see how well TNA would do in the ratings before taking that plunge and giving them a 2-hour slot. Someone asked what direction Robert would be taking the company. Nigro said that he always hated politics and that is the first thing that is going to go. Everybody will get their chance to shine based on their ability and charisma. Nobody will be left out in the cold. He promised that the NEW TNA would deliver where nobody else in the world delivered today. Someone asked if TNA had any plans to try and bring in anybody else to join the roster now that they have more time. Robert said that TNA was always looking for the next big breakout star and he also emphasized that anything can happen in TNA so keep watching. Nigro ended the conference by telling everybody to make sure they tune into iMPACT! this Thursday night to see the start of the future of TNA!. Overall the feel of the Press Conference was upbeat. It seems that the sky is the limit for TNA right now. |

![]() Held at the Broadbent Arena in Louisville, KY and being taped for TV Attendance: 5,000 - Pre-Show vs. ![]() - Eric Young vs. Shark Boy Shark Boy defeated Eric Young in by pinfall with a Deep Sea Driver. I was impressed with this match. I expected a much worse rating then what I got and it was a solid start to the night. I wax thinking of getting rid of Eric Young but I may now hold on to him and give him a new gimmick. Winner: Shark Boy in 10:57 Rating: C- - Impact Is On The Air! ***This Is TNA. The New Face Of Professional Wrestling*** ![]() - The pyros go off in the Broadbent Arena and the crowd goes wild! Mike Tenay and Don West are at the announce table and they welcome us to TNA Impact. They hype that tonight is the first time Impact is coming to you from somewhere other than Orlando, FL. They say that tonight in the Main Event we will see the rematch from Slamiversary for the NWA World Tag Team Titles when AMW take on Styles & Daniels. Also the big meeting will be tonight when Jim Cornett tells everybody the status of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship. Rating: C- & vs. & w/ ![]() - Aries & Strong vs. The Diamonds In The Rough (Primetime & David Young) w/ Simon Diamond Strong and Aries defeated Diamonds in the Rough when Austin Aries defeated David Young by pinfall with a 450 Splash. Wow what a bad why to start the show! I know three of these guys is very talented and even David Young is not that bad. Perhaps a little more TV time to get them over would help but damn I was expecting more out of these guys. Winners: Aries & Strong in 7:56 Rating: D- w/ ![]() - Christie Hemme is backstage with the TNA X-Division Champion Senshi. Senshi says that he came to TNA to dominate and he has done just that so far. He says that everybody has been saying that he did not pin or force to submit the X-Division Champion Samoa Joe so he proved nothing. He holds up the X-Belt and says that anytime Joe wants a rematch, he’s got it. It does not matter who he has to face or when he has to face them, he will destroy all challengers. Rating: C- ***Commercial Break*** w/ vs. ![]() - Alex Shelley w/ Kevin Nash vs. Jay Lethal Now this is what I am talking about. The X-Division was in full force in this match. Alex Shelly has a great mat game and Jay Lethal gets better all the time. This time however is was not who was better in the ring, but the interference from Kevin Nash at ringside that put this match in Shelly’s favor. Shelly distracted the ref saying that he hurt his ankle. That prompted Nash to climb over the ropes and hit Lethal with a low blow putting him down. Shelly then came in and hit the Shellshock for the victory. Winner: Alex Shelly in 10:57 Rating: C ![]() - After the match Big Sexy got in the ring and both he and Shelly proceeded to beat on Jay Lethal. Nash was about to hit the Jackknife Powerbomb when Chris Sabin ran out to make the save. Shelly warned Nash and he quickly dropped Lethal and they both got out of the ring before Sabin got there. Rating: D - Sabin grabbed the mic and said that this seems awfully familiar. However this time he has a surprise for Nash. He already talked to Jim Cornett and he has granted his wish for a rematch against Nash for Victory Road. Nash does not seem worried and he looks on. Sabin smiles and says that there is a stipulation on this match that he specifically asked for. Their match at Victory Road will be a loser leaves TNA match! Tenay and West cannot believe what they just heard and don’t know why Sabin would put his career on the line when he knows Nash will cheat to get that win. Rating: C- ***Commercial Break*** vs. ![]() - Rhino vs. Lance Hoyt Rhino defeated Lance Hoyt by pinfall with a Gore. Winner: Rhino in 9:46 Rating: C- ![]() - A music video is shown to promote the training habits of The Naturals given to them by Shane Douglas; roadwork, mat work, cardiovascular and weight training all make up the intensive program. Rating: F vs. w/ vs. vs. ![]() - #1 Contenders Match for TNA X-Division Championship Sonjay Dutt vs. Matt Bentley w/ Traci vs. Petey Williams vs. Puma Matt Bentley defeated Sonjay Dutt, Petey Williams and Puma; the order of elimination was Puma first, then Petey Williams, and finally Sonjay Dutt. At the end it looked like Dutt would get the win but Traci got on the ring apron and distracted him, allowing Bentley to set up the Superkick for the win. Winner: Matt Bentley in 15:14 Rating: C ***Commercial Break*** ![]() - Jeremy Borash is standing by backstage with Sting and the former NWA World Heavyweight Champion Captain Charisma Christian Cage. Sting says that they don’t want to wait for the big company meeting to drop a bomb on Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner. Cage says that they just came from Cornett’s office and next week there will be a huge tag team main event. Sting then cuts in and says that it will be Scott Steiner & Jeff Jarrett taking on Sting and Christian Cage. Cage looks at Sting and asks why did Sting just steal his thunder? Rating: B- w/ ![]() - Christie Hemme is backstage with Bobby Roode and Scott D’Amore. Roode says that after Team Canada was disbanded, Scott D’Amore had to pick someone to continue along with here in TNA and he choose The Enforcer Bobby Roode. He says that that was a good choice because he is well on his way to becoming the NWA World Heavyweight Champion. However his first obstacle is The Alpha Male Monty Brown. He says that he and Monty has never crossed Paths before but tonight he if going to show Brown why he is The Enforcer. Rating: C- w/ vs. ![]() - Bobby Roode w/ Scott D'Amore vs. Monty Brown Booby Roode just gets better and better each and every time he gets in the ring. However he WAS up against The Alpha Male and Monty is now on a mission. Even with the constant interference by D’Amore at ringside, Brown was able to hit the pounce for the win. Winner: Monty Brown in 11:40 Rating: C ***Commercial Break*** ![]() & w/ vs. & w/ ![]() - NWA World Tag Team Title match AMW (Harris & Storm) w/ Gail Kim vs. Styles & Daniels © w/ Jackie Gayda Once again these 4 men stole the show! The action was all over the place and by the end Harris and AJ were both bloody. Gail tried to get involved numerous times, but Jacky was there to put a stop to it. Styles hit a HUGE Springboard Shooting Star Press to Storm on the out side. He then slide back in as Daniels hit the Angles Wings on Harris. They followed that up with the Frog Splash by AJ and then BME by Daniels for the victory! AJ Stlyes and Fallen Angel make defense number 1 of their NWA World Tag Team titles. Winners: And Still Champions Styles & Daniels in 30:15 Rating: C+ ***Commercial Break*** ![]() - When we come back from the break, Jim Cornett is in the ring and every member of the TNA roster is ringside. Cornett says that for too long TNA has been run by political BS that has worked in the favor of Jeff Jarrett, and unfortunately that political BS has once again worked in Jeff’s favor so with great displeasure he gives the title to Jarrett. He then says that now that that little piece of unpleasant business is out of the way he has a couple of things he wants to address. The first being Kevin Nash and his was on the X-Division. He says that Kevin came pounding on his door after Chris Sabin laid the bomb that their match at Victory Road was going to be a loser leaves TNA match. He says that he listened to Nash’s points on why this match should not happen and came to this conclusion…it will go down at Victory Road! Kevin Nash gets pissed off at ringside and has to be held back. Cornett says to let him go because it will be the last punch he ever throws in TNA. He says the reason it will go down is because just like Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner, Kevin Nash is a cancer that is eating away at TNA and it has to be cut away and Chris Sabin is just the man to do it. Next order of business is the NWA World Tag Team Champions AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels. It seems that there aren’t any teams that stick out as the #1 Contenders right now. So next week there will be a 4-Way tag team match to determine who will face AJ and Daniels at the PPV and it will be between The James Gang, The Naturals, Team 3D and Aries & Strong. AMW start to throw a tantrum at ringside. Cornett says the reason that AMW is not in that match is because after losing the rematch, they are now pushed to the back of the line for title shots. Cornett spots Jarrett & Steiner getting ready to leave and tells him to wait a moment because he is not done with them yet. It seems that there’s a number of individuals that are vying for a shot at the NWA World Title. So at Victory Road there are going to be two matches. The first is going to be a 4-Way to determine the #1 Contender and then the next match will be against Jeff Jarrett for the Title on the very same night. The 4 individuals are Sting, Scott Steiner, Christian Cage and…. Samoa Joe! At this the crowd explodes and chants of ‘Joe, Joe, Joe, Joe” can be heard throughout the arena. Jarrett looks at Steiner and Steiner stares at the World Title as Impact goes off the air. Rating: B- Overall Rating: C+ Quick Impact Results Shark Boy d Eric Young Strong & Aries d Diamonds In The Rough Alex Shelly d Jay Lethal Rhino d Lance Hoyt Matt Bentley d Sonjay Dutt, Petey Williams and Puma Monty Brown d Bobby Roode Styles and Daniels d AMW ![]() ***This Is TNA. The New Face Of Professional Wrestling*** ![]() ![]() - A video plays, showing highlights from a previous show. Christian Cage, Sting, Scott Steiner, Samoa Joe, Jeff Jarrett, Kevin Nash, Chris Sabin, and Monty Brown are all featured prominently. Rating: C ![]() - Christy Hemme and Jeremy Borash welcome everybody to another addition of Global Impact coming to you from TNAwrestling.com and SpikeTV.com. They say that on this edition of Global Impact Primetime Elix Skipper will take on the TNA X-Division Champion Senshi in a non-title match. Also there will be a sneak peak at the new TNA Knockouts magazine with Christy Hemme on the cover. They talk about the huge announcement made by Jim Cornett this past Thursday on Spike regarding the NWA World Heavyweight title. Unfortunately the belt is back in the hands of Jeff Jarrett, but in a huge announcement, at Victory Road there will be a 4-Way to determine the #1 Contender who will go on later that night and face off against Jarrett for the Title. The four participants in that match are non other than Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner, Sting, Captain Charisma Christian Cage, and non other than The Samoan Submission Machine, Samoa Joe. That match and so many more at Victory Road! Rating: C w/ vs. ![]() - Primetime w/ Simon Diamond vs. Senshi 2 things were proved in this match. 1-Primetime is one of the best X-Division stars in TNA today and 2- Senshi IS the TNA X-Division champ. This match exemplified what the X-Division is all out. Not just high flying but great mat wrestling as well. Despite constant interference by Simon Diamond, Senshi pulled off the victory with the Top Rode Double Foot Stomp, crushing Primetime. Winner: Senshi in 14:35 Rating: C- ![]() - A sneak peak at Christy Hemme’s photo shoot for the new TNA Knockouts magazine is shown. Rating: B - Christy Hemme and Jeremy Borash hype up next weeks edition of TNA Impact where in the Main Event Jeff Jarrett & Scott Steiner will team up to take on Sting & Christian Cage. Will these 4 men be able to co-exist knowing that they could and will be facing each other in less then 1 months time? Tune in to find out. Rating: C+ - A video plays, showing highlights from a previous show. Sting, Samoa Joe, Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, Christian Cage, Monty Brown, Kevin Nash, and Chris Sabin are all featured prominently. Rating: B- Overall Rating: D Bookers Notes: I was not too impressed with the results of these two shows. I was expecting a bit more, especially out of Impact with the talent I put on. I was expecting at least a B-, but no a C+. I guess I need at least 2 wrestling segments for Global Impact with very little promo time. I figured if I do a bit more than half the show with a match ten I should be fine. I guess not. However this was a learning experience and now I have a better idea of what to do for future shows. |

Robert sat in his office wondering what went wrong. Was it too soon to start touring? Did he not have enough recognizable talent on the show? What their not enough action? Regardless of what the reason was, the fan reaction was not what he expected last night. After watching Monday Night Raw on his DVR he knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that his product was better, but for some reasons the fans did not click with the athletes last night. Oh there were some good matches on RAW last night. The Johnny Nitro John Cena match was very good and had a surprise ending when they put Nitro over. However overall the quality of in ring talent was much better on Impact. Raw scored a 3.2 on USA last night, he was going to have to wait and see if the public will show half of that interest in Impact on Thursday.
Well that’s enough of dwelling on the past; it was time to look to the future. He knew next week was going to be big with the Tag Team Main Event, and he had a couple of other good matches on the card as well. But would the fans be interested? It was time to pull out the big guns and Roberts knew it. He looked at his appointment book and saw 4 names for the coming week, 2 of which could change the tide in his favor in this struggle to make it. The first two are from the group the WWE just released last night. The first was Joey Styles, a great announcer who the fans knew and respected. He would be a great addition to West and Tenay and if they could land him it would further solidify what everybody has been saying, and that’s that the heart and soul of ECW is here in TNA. The next was a man exemplified what Extreme was all about back in the 90’s, and unfortunately he has been out of action for quite a while, but if he could talk him into going back into the ring… That man was Taz, the Human Suplex Machine! The next two guys have been away from wrestling for a few years now but there names were still huge and getting bigger every day. The first was Lion Heart Chris Jericho and the second was non other than The Rock! Robert knew that even a few appearances by The Rock would boost ratings and bring back that old saying in TNA that anything can happen. Jericho has been saying that he does not miss wrestling, but Robert knew better. Once it’s in your blood it never leaves. Ask Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair and the countless others that have stayed around. He just had to find the right way to talk Jericho into coming back. This next week is going to be interesting. |

Good diary.
I hope Jericho and The Rock aren't in there full time, and just win a few matches and then lose to someone you're pushing(IE Samoa Joe). I like realism, and either way is fine. But to see A Jericho/Joe match and a The Rock/Sting match gives me an immediate crush on this diary, not even mentioning a Taz - Raven/Rhino/Sting/Shane Douglas(Winner is the new partner of Mikey Tenay and Don West) The vision of Taz locking in the Tazmission, then Sting getting out.. Stinger Splash and the like is just a beauty. |
