After just beating Danny B Bling, who has about 80% overness compared to my 20%, I was thinking that maybe there should be slightly bigger increases for beating more popular opponents. Now, it appears that happens now which is great, but I was hoping for something a little more drastic. My rationale is simple...in real life, if a big star puts over a much lower worker, that worker's stock rises immensely. I understand the need for a gradual increase as guys don't often go from nothing up to huge stars inside of three years, but if CM Punk got thrown into a match with Triple H and Trips went 50/50 with Punk on live TV, I guarantee CM Punk would at least be elevated past his midcard/uppermidcard ECW status and brought into the Main Event fold for at least a few weeks. Anyone else out there agree?

In real life, I agree with what you've said. But I don't think it should be changed in the game, or if your good enough at the game, you'll rise up too quickly. I'm capable now of beating guys in say NYCW and MAW, who are considerablly more over than me, most of the time. If the pop rise was more dramatic, then I'd be at their level all ready, and probably be moving on to DAVE, despite only playing the game for a year and my character only aging from 20 to 21. That would be too quick for my liking.
I suppose, in the next Wrespi, if there is one, that it could be something you set, like a maximum and minimum pop rise from matches. |

I could see the potential drawbacks in boosting the uh...boost, for the reasons you said JV, but what if there was some sort of a cap, or a list of requirements for getting the bigger match-ups, like winning so many matches in a row or maybe becoming friends with a popular wrestler in your territory and then asking him to give you the rub or something. I don't know, just trying to find more to add to the game. Not that it's particularly lacking now, heh.
