Default What did you think of Last nights Raw? (2/5)

The Good:

The card itself was great. I liked seeing Lashley defending his gold on RAW (despite it being againts Kenny D.) I can see Vince is trying somewhat harder to put ECW over... ofcourse thats if you put the Balls Mahoney squash behind you. But I know in the bottom of my heart, that this is just going to be one of those back and forth things between the ECW originals and Vince and his lackeys. Lets just hope ECW can follow up with a new found momentum.

The number 1 contender shot for WM was a great match and I was completely caught by surprise when HBK won.... (mainly because I heard many sources stating it would be Cena vs Edge vs Ortan) so I was glad the heartbreak kid managed to regain his well deserved title match.

Mickey James vs Melina was a very fun match to watch, though I was hoping Melina would win just so Mickey can have someone else have heat till she wins it back at Mania.

I loved how this Raw balanced SE and actual wrestling to perfection tonight. One of the better shows Ive seen in a while and was I the only one standing and clapping when Flair told off Carlito like that? Heres hoping that it indicates a heel turn for Ric. The man seriously needs something to do.

The Bad: Well..... hm.... Though I liked the fact that Lashley defended his not so important belt on an important show... I didnt like the match all that well. It was just okay for me. I'm also beginning to hate how they're killing any chance at a heat that Chris Masters might potentially get. If you look really close at the mans eyes, it seems like he just doesnt care anymore. Say what you want about him, but he has potential and they are destroying him with his sudden de-pushing. And I dont wanna hear the "oh, he's doing steriods" excuse. Becasue Vince would have to be an idiot to sign him, knowing that he was already shooting.

Overall: Good show however and I hope they follow up next week. But Thats just me, I wanna know what you thought. And why?

THe thing about the Vince vs Originals angle is that I thought that's where they were going in the beginning of the series with Dreamer getting set up by Heyman so often and RVD getting screwed over in Philly, having Heyman align with the "New ECW" (Show, Test, Holly) against RVD, Dreamer etc. I still think it can be good, but when you consider history (inVasion) more tha likely Vnce's guys are going to get the better of ECW just to stroke Vince's ego so that he can says his WWE guys are better than ECW.

I couldn't help but be pleased with that promo too, but it kind of felt like a semi-shoot, if the rumors about Carlito being lazy are true... and who better to talk some sense into a lazy young worker than the holy grail of pro wrestling...

... it reminded me of the time Trips took a shot at masters on the mic about "losing all that weight" after Masters got suspended for 'riods...

I loved the Flair promo, I hope it leads somewhere. I don't see why it wouldn't, but you never know. The Main Event was pretty solid, I liked the finish a lot. i was also a big fan of the Dykstra-Lashley match, I thought Dykstra sold great for Lashley and he managed to look pretty good in the match too. All in all there were no big misses this week, just the usual stuff. Some of the Divas suck on the mic but that's not gonna change, the matches needed a little more time, but that's just how the WWE is. Good show overall and I watched all of RAW for the first time in years.

I Really enjoyed Raw last night too. I feel like that Kenny guy is going to win the crowd over eventually, without turning. I hate Kenny, just want to make that clear!

I liked the Diva Match, but I really felt like Mickey James is having a hard time getting her opponants to fall, or duck, or just bassically act like they know what they are doing in there. To me, it seemed like she was trying to put on a good show, make Melina look good, and keep everyone safe at the same time. Might be just me though.

Batista vs. Undertaker.. I hope Undertaker crush's him so bad that he quits.. Sorry, but I have not liked many match's by Batista since his return... It's like Cena said, Looks like he is scared of getting hurt (and I never really believed he was all that hurt in the first place).

The triple threat match was done great. It was predictable to me, but mostly predictable as it was playing out moreso then before the match begun.

Now, the most important thing to me so far this week........................

WARNING - SPOILER OF ECW TONIGHT

On ECW, Vince showed up again, and tonights show was alot better then last weeks... I had quit watching ECW, till the last two weeks, for about two months (right before Heyman was booted, whenever that was). I wasn't impressed last week, although the match between Test and Lashley was ok. This week however, Whole new story. First show that ever made scense to me, lol. Yeah, I see the whole Old vs. New coming, or tried to come, etc.. before when Heyman was around, but tonight was alot different.

Snitsky?!? Holy Cow, I seen the promo and figured he would be coming in a week or so, but.... Did not expect him to come in there tonight. SO here we have Lashley, and his enemies.. Test, Holly, and now Snitsky! That's great because I can follow it now. Then you have the Old ECW guys, vs. The new ECW guys... This doesn't include Lashley, Test, HOlly or Snitsky though. So this is going to be easy to follow. THere, two solid storylines/angles they can really put some time into. I'm with it now!!

That's what it was I hated about ECW, and why TNA turns me off.. and although I can watch TNA just for the wrestling (when they do), ECW was just plain getting tired to me. You had Van Dam vs. This guy, RVD Vs. that guy, everything circle's around RVD, yet the title is on Lashley, who has/had nothing going on at all.. Just people fighting to see who could fight him. Now, you have a clear definative program. I see Lashley, Snitsky, Holly, and Test as the Main Cards now, with the Old ECW vs the New ECW to fill in the rest of the slots. All the sudden ECW is more interesting to me then the other shows... If not for the people on them, I think ECW would be my primary focus at this point (if they stick to it, which... who knows, knowing Vince).

I... liked it?

Holy crap. I liked RAW. After the Rosie/Donald flop of a match, I didn't think this would ever, ever happen again.

They are actually using that as a basis for having Donald show up.. "Vince, people don't want to see stupid crap like that, they want something entertaining" Lol.

Notice the POP Cena got, compared to even the Undertaker?

What I'm curious about (and we'll probably never truly know) is if WWE planned this whole thing from the beginning, meaning they purposefully did fake Trump vs. fake Rosie, knowing that segment / match would be beyond suck and then using it as they are to promote Don vs. Vince.

I noticed Cena's pop was huge as usual. For me, it's hard to gauge 'Taker's pop's, as the seem subdued, partially because of the ominous atmosphere / music, IMO. I did notice at the end 'Taker thinking he was Chris Masters and flexing his man boobs. Disturbing.

FYI: Not Don vs. Vince in the ring (thank God), but a wrestler representing one of each. Internet rumours state that a representative of Don (Hogan) will face a representative of Vince (several names tossed, including Shane & Khali) at Wrestlemania.

Yeah, I heard about that. I'm wondering myself who will get who.

I was most amused at the POP the crowd gave in comparison when Undertaker was looking them over... When he got to Cena, and stared at him with those eyes of his, the crowd starting building up even more... and then very clearly a Cena chant started. I don't know what that means, but I really didn't expect it, as it didn't happen when he looked at any of the other's. Cena ussually gets a good pop these days, but honestly HBK has been very close to the same, till last raw.

Yeah, when Undertaker comes out, it's hard to gauge, but as soon as they see him, you get the POP I'm talking about. He gets a huge pop everytime, and it's ussually way over the rest. Cena's pop was obviously bigger (bigger then ussual too).

My thought is something has happened, some information I don't know of. Did he do something in Real Life, show up on yet another talk show? I don't know, just was unexpected to me.

I thought it was a pretty hot RAW. Since HHH got injured I was praying we got Cena vs. HBK at Wrestlemania. And Batista vs. Undertaker won't suck either. I'm now getting the feeling that maybe...just maybe Vince will come to his senses and give Taker the win at WM.

That was a great Raw. It was like a great soap opera, open up many questions, answer none, leave you on the edge of your seat.

The Flair promo on Carlito was absolutely brilliant. The Nature Boy is outstanding.

The main event was very well executed. And I really liked Dykstra's job to Lashley giving ECW some credibility. Dykstra has some real ability.

I aggree with the Flair thing. I enjoyed that, and it made me ask, Now what are they getting Flair and Carlito into? Is Flair telling Carlito he needs to get in the middle of championship match's, so he get's noticed? Or is he trying to tell him he's so old he can't remember his name, but Carlito seems to be someone that could help him recall it? LOL.

I enjoyed Kenny for the first time I think. I don't know if it was Lashley just made him look good (on purpose, not a hit on Lashley at all), or if I just noticed for the first time what everyone else has been noticing. I just never liked him, but for the first Time I started to.

I loved Kenny on the Spirit Squad. But, then again, I liked the SS as a whole. He does have some potential.... but its that potential in an Orlando Jordan sort of way in that he may reach it or he may not.

Flair was fantastic when he told off Carlito. The man made a load of sense and he was right. Carly Colon has been critisized for being lazy and even in a Tammy Sytch shoot when she and CC was in Puerto Rico, Carlito told her that he doesnt really care and that he's wrestling because his father talked him into it. I sense he'd be the type of guy to retire by 33.

Flair is the best man in the business bar none about putting things in perspective. He did it with the reigniting of the Horsemen, and he did it here. The thing that makes Ric Flair great is he's so god damn believable. He gives you a reason to fall into the fantasy and get passionate about it.

I think this will lead to Ric Flair interfering against Carlito, and in a heel like fashion attempt to teach him a lesson and harden him up. Carlito can be main event, but Ric Flair is correct, he needs to be taken away from the Torrie story, which IIRC Carlito hates himself.

On Kenny v Lashley, Kenny sold big time in that match. Perhaps though, oversold it too? I mean, being KOed out of the ring was a bit unbelievable when you could see he physically had to jump back, propel using his calf muscles and softly land. It didn't look overly real, it looked a bit dramatic. But still, it was a good way to put ECW over.
