Default Raw 06/11

SPOILERS

One of the greatest characters in wrestling history literally exploded last night, when Vince McMahon walked into his limo at the very end of WWE Monday Night Raw (on live tv) and it all of the sudden exploded.

Now, the number of people who watched that and ran to their computers to wwe.com must've been massive (either because they knew there would be something up, or because they saw the visit wwe.com on the bottom left just like I did.) I was one of those losers and after 10 minutes of trying to visit wwe.com it finally worked (it must've been that backed up, honestly in a week or two I'm going to check google trends to see how many people googled Vince McMahon last night),

But, anyways back to the story at hand. Vince McMahon, owner of the WWE slightly hid this fact and did not reveal it to the fans, as he was a backstage interviewer and announcer on Monday Night Raw in 1997 and before. However, in November of 1997, a night many people wished WWE would stop mentioning, The Montreal Screwjob (If you don't know what this is, search for it on wikipedia, that's the answer for everything), however due to his screwing over Bret Hart, the next day he came out and delivered a very evil interview that was reminiscent of the character he would create when he said "It wasn't Vince who screwed Bret, BRET SCREWED BRET!"

Now, being someone who owns the McMahon DVD, I am going to give highlights on Mr. McMahon's elustrious career in the WWE after this.
Backtrack to before Survivor Series Screwjob, the character of Stone Cold Steve Austin was garnering amazing support from fans, critics, and announcers alike for being something else, something never tapped into, and un-hero, someone who no one was supposed to look up to, who was still a good guy.

Now, what did that un-hero need, but a vile enemy. And what other way to make him even more beloved by the fans then to have him feud with his boss, the old Blue Collar vs. White Collar thing.

Vince and Austin fought it out on many different occasions, with Vince coming up on the short end most of the time. As a result of Stone Cold Steve Austin: Mr. McMahon had wet his pants from Austin threatening to shoot him, however when Austin pulled the trigger it said Bang 3:16, and Austin delivered the line "McMahon 3:16 says I just pissed my pants!"; Austin poured cement into one of VInce's prized convertibles that shattered the windows; Austin drove a zamboni (the things that make the ice smooth, in hockey rinks) down to the ring to beat up Mr. McMahon; and one of the most memorable wrestling moments of all time, drove a beer truck down to the ring and sprayed Mr. McMahon, and several of his colleagues with a hose filled with stevewisers (a stunt which would later be parodied by Olympic Gold-medalist-turned wrestler Kurt Angle, when he sprayed milk on Austin and the Alliance (years later when WWE bought out WCW and ECW, the two companies formed an "alliance" and invaded WWE (with the help of Shane who bought WCW and Stephanie who led WCW, vince's kids], and the whole storyline wasn't as effective as it should have been [mostly due to it being just about the McMahons and because Vince didn't want WWE guys to look inferior to wrestlers from other companies, even if he now owned those companies])

Vince also had his share of comeuppance against his rival Austin, such as when he not only cost Austin The Royal Rumble (in which the WWE title was vacated, so it was on the line), and eventually actually won it. The owner of the company won the world title. Eventually The Undertaker and his demonic minions started going after not only Austin, but Vince's son Stephanie, due to Undertaker working under a "higher power". Eventually, Stephanie was supposed to be "sacrificed as a virgin," however, Austin saved her in time. Eventually it would be Austin who would be put up on the Undertaker's "symbol" (a glorified cross with an X in it [a year or two earlier in ECW, Raven had done an angle where he crucified the Sandman, and in fact that was a main reason that previously mentioned milk-spraying gold-medalist Kurt Angle went to the WWE, he was supposed to debut in ECW that night, and he told Paul Heyman that he had wanted nothing to do with the show he had just seen]). In a strange twist of fate, it was revealed that the higher power Undertaker was working for was VInce McMahon himself. Who had apparently made Undertaker attempt to sacrifice McMahon's own daughter.

So a match was signed for Fully Loaded (which was in Buffalo, by the way) between Undertaker and Austin ("Undertaker just signed the contract in Austin's own blood!" ~ Announcer, Michael Cole). The stipulations of this match were simple it was for the title and if Austin won McMahon would have to leave TV. Well, suffice to say, Austin won, and McMahon did leave TV, for about 4 or 5 months.

Now, during the Austin feud and thereafter, everytime Vince walked to the ring it looked like he walked with more and more of a stagger.
He returned when his daughter, Stephanie was set to marry Andrew "Test" Martin, however McMahon was feuding with Triple H at this point. During the wedding, Triple H came out and told Vince that Stephanie was already married, Triple H revealed footage of him driving a drunk Stephanie McMahon through a Drive-thru wedding chapel and doing one of the worst jobs throwing his voice for her I do. However, the match was signed VInce vs Triple H, and low and behold Stephanie took a sledgehammer to her own father, he responded the next night by casually (as in abnormal, because Vince is normally over the top) rode away in his limo, scared as hell. He did come back a few months later supporting Steph and Trips, though.

Another quirk about Mr. McMahon was his two favorite catch phrases "Shut UP!" (which his daughter stole from him), and the coupe de grace "You're Fired" (which Trump stole from him). Vince, on tv had fired a Limo Driver, a pyrotechnician, Steve Austin, Marty Jannetty, Rob Conway, Eric Bischoff, Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan, Paul Heyman, Mick Foley, Earl Hebner, Shawn Michaels, Kane and Jim Ross just to name a few. However, the most interesting firing moments was at one point when vince was really pissed off, and decided to hire the fans in the crowd and everyone watching on TV, and then promptly fired all of them.

Occasionally Vince would show up, and he would eventually show up in full force in 2001, when WWE had bought out its competitor WCW, so as WCW fans tuned in at 8:00 to see WCW Monday Nitro, they were not first greeted by Eric Bischoff, the nWo, or any other reminder of WCW, they were greeted by WWE owner Vince McMahon who announced he would fire a majority of the main eventers who had screwed him over and left WWE (WWF at the time) for WCW. Including, but not limited to: Hulk Hogan, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Jeff Jarrett (who with the exception of Jarrett and possibly Nash, had already gotten screwed by the WCW out of contracts, so it wouldn't've mattered either way, because they weren't in contract with WCW) WCW then put on "a night of champions" however, due to a majority of WCW main eventers already being gone, it appeared to be anything but, with the last match being the only WCW main event highlight, a final Cage match between long time rivals Sting and Ric Flair, right after this match, Vince McMahon came out to the ring on Raw (which went head-to-head against Nitro), and started polling the audience as to who in WCW he should keep, and who he should fire. All of the sudden, Vince's son Shane's music plays, these two were feuding already and were set to face eachother at Wrestlemania. Vince literally asks WHERE THE HELL IS HE! What he doesn't realize is that Shane is actually at the WCW show coming out to the ring and then announces that the name on the contract Signed about the WWE buying out WCW does say McMahon, but it doesn't say VInce McMahon, it says Shane McMahon, and the afformentioned failed alliance angle comes into play here.

At this point in 2001, Vince had started going crazy, He asked Linda, his wife, on live television for a divorce. She has a nervous breakdown and Vince makes the Mental institution keep sedating his wife, but ends up making out with Blonde Bombshell, Trish Stratus right in front of her.

During the Wrestlemania match between Shane and Vince, Linda was wheeled out to ringside, and Linda got up and slapped Vince in the face, apparently un-sedated now.

A few months later, Vince came into the ring and so did Linda, VInce went down on his knees and said he'd apologize, however Linda had something up her sleeve "Vince, you read my lips, I WANT A DIVORCE!"

And so Vince left for awhile to reconcile these differences with Linda and apparently put his "balls the size of grapefruits" to work as he so claimed.

However, Vince eventually led WWE into beating its rival WCW, which then had to fold.

The week after the alliance angle ended, Shane and Stephania announced they had sold their half share of the WWE (to buy WCW and ECW respectively), to Ric Flair, who hadn't been seen the the WCW night of champions Nitro.

Vince started getting even crazier at this point, saying that Ric Flair was gonna kill WWE, and he didn't want it to be Ric Flair. So, sitting in a chair all quietly, the cameras kept going to Vince who was shown in a mirror. He said that he said that Ric Flair was WWE's cancer, and that he was going to inject WWE with a poison, "The WWE is my creation, and I'm GONNA KILL IT! ME!" he said, as he turned the chair around revealing an nWo logo "AND the N W O!"

A week or two later Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Hulk Hogan finally debuted. They didn't quite do what Vince said they would.
Meanwhile, VInce and Flair's feud escalated so much that they couldn't even survive on the same program, when Linda McMahon, who was still CEO, announced that there would be a draft in Which Flair and Vince would choose wrestlers to represent them. Flair being the Owner of Raw, and McMahon being the owner of Smackdown!

They picked wrestlers and yet still kept feuding until Vince won full ownership.

However, in real life Vince had lost a court case with The World Wildlife Foundation, and had to relinquish using the name WWF, so he changed the name to WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment. Shortly before this happened, Steve Austin walked out, in real life, due to creative differences. So, Vince decided he would use this as the new mantra for the WWE and once it began as WWE, the new slogan was get the F out (a play on the idea of the F being deleted from the name, and Austin Walking out), saying that if someone didn't like the WWE, then they could just get the F out!

Then, Vince took some time off, and announced daughter, Stephanie as General Manager of Smackdown! and former hated rival, former WCW president, Eric Bischoff as GM of Raw.

Before the Splitting of the roster, and during it, Vince McMahon created a special club, that was for his most hated enemies, the Vince McMahon Kiss My Ass Club, in which he would literally pull down his pants and make someone kiss his Butt Cheek. Members of this Exclusive club include, William Regal, Jim Ross, Trish Stratus, Zach Gowen, Marty Jannetty, Shawn Michaels, Mick Foley, and recently, someone turned around and instead of Kissing Vince's ass, made Vince's son Shane do it.

In 2003, Vince began feuding with a man who he helped create in the mid-80's hulk hogan and eventually faced Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania and beat him in a match that would mean Hulk Hogan would have to retire. A few weeks later, a newcomer by the name of Mr. America debuted (the point of the character was that it was painstakingly obvious that it was Hulk Hogan under the mask.) and a few weeks later a fan came in from the crowd to assist Mr. America, an independent wrestler who wrestled as Tenacious Z in TNA, and lost one leg at 8 years old due to Cancer, and moves around the ring swiftly either hopping on one leg or walking with a prostetic leg. He wrestled by his real name, Zach Gowen. Zach Gowen and Stephanie McMahon beat Mr. McMahon and Big Show to secure a WWE contract for Zach Gowen. Gowen then lost to Vince at Smackdown!'s Vengeance Pay Per View.

Vince took the next few months feuding with Mr. America trying to reveal that he was Hulk Hogan, however, Mr. America even passed a lie detector test. On the June 26 edition of Smackdown! Mr. America, Brock Lesnar, and Kurt Angle lost to The World's Greatest Tag Team (Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas) and The Big Show. After the show went off the air, Mr. America pulled his mask us and put his finger on his lips to tell the fans not to tell anyone that he was actually Hulk Hogan. VInce came out the next Smackdown! and showed this footage, even though the show went off the air, the cameras didn't and Vince publicly fired Hulk Hogan.

A few months later he continued feuding with Stephanie and faced her in an I Quit match at No Mercy, a month later he face Undertaker in a buried alive match.

Vince once again left the limelight and came back and defeated Eric Bischoff kicking him off Raw duties.
Vince appeared occasionally at this time, and only officially returned after coming out to the ring during the 2005 Royal Rumble Pay Per View, walking into the ring and tearing both quadriceps.

It was shortly after this that WWE held the ECW One Night Stand Pay Per View, which was done again one year later, and the second one added ECW as a third show and therefore a third roster in the WWE.

Vince eventually stayed on Raw, feuding with Shawn Michaels. Vince decided he would create his own religion, McMahonism, and Shawn Michaels was offended by this, and Vince and Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania was match of the year voted by PWI. This feud continued months upon months eventually Triple H got involved effectively re-forming DX. At this point Stephanie (in real life) was pregnant with Hunter (Triple H)'s baby. (as a side note: according to Stephanie on the McMahon DVD, Vince wanted himself to admit that he was the father of the baby in the storylines). This feud continued until Vince decided to leave TV again. DX stayed together until Triple H (for the third time in his career) tore one of his quadriceps.

Vince returned once again recently, feuding with Bobby Lashley, whom he beat for the ECW title, and successfully defended it for two months, until finally losing it back to Lashley. Vince actually told Shane to beat Lashley, but loving his dad so much, he wanted it to be Vince.
After Vince lost the title, he started a downward spiral, the week after he made every champion defend their titles in outlandish matches. That was last week. He started walking around with none of the stagger he once had. He started walking extremely calm and methodical as if something had finally snapped, an article on WWE.com said that doctors believed that he was so crazy that sooner or later Mr. McMahon would explode. Jonathan Coachman came out on Raw last week not only to announce the WWE draft, but Vince McMahon appreciation Night. On ECW, he failed to make Lashley lose his ECW title. On Smackdown, while talking to Matt Hardy, a Diva accidentally spilled coffee on him, he then suspended the diva indefinitely.

And so we have arrived at last night's raw, where at the beginning Vince was reading from a piece of paper about Vince McMahon appreciation night, stating that many people would be on talking about him, he was visibly shaking, at the end he looked up and just glared at the camera, then the Raw theme song cam eon. Then many past superstars, WWE Hall Of Famers, and notable celebrities either came out to the ring or were interviewed somewhere else, and most of them did not say very nice things about the chairman, the only one to be completely nice was Dusty Rhodes, and between these McMahon comments, matches would occur where the winner's brand would get a draft pick. The very last person to talk about Vince was Stone Cold Steve Austin, who had some very harsh words to say about the man he had feuded with for a very long time, in fact he talked even worse about McMahon than he ever had before. After Austin talked, there was a battle royal to decide the final two draft picks. After the two picks were decided, VInce McMahon left his office and came down to the ring very slow and methodic without a microphone. Ring Announcer, Tony Chimel gave Mr. McMahon a microphone and he took it and squeaked out something to the effect of thank you. This is not the McMahon we have come to know who talks loud, brash and crude.

He threw the microphone down walked back up the ramp, and into the backstage area. Cameras went around the crowd, until they went backstage where McMahon walked with all the wrestlers lined up, he started walking one way, and Jonathan Coachman told him he was walking the wrong way, his limo was the other way. So Vince started walking the other way and stopped at longtime stooges Jerry Brisco and Pat Patterson and turned around and looked at his roster. He then opened a corridor to the parking lot where his limo was. He took a deep breath and for the first time in the past week looked somewhat calm. He started walking and then stopped to see two men sitting and kinda smirked at them, he kept walking and occasionally stopping, until he got to his limo, he took a final look around until finally getting into his limo. He was in there for a few seconds, shut the door, it blew up, and the special 3 hour raw went off the air.

According to WWE.com Mr. McMahon is presumed dead. Wrestling fans mourn Mr. McMahon, one of the greatest characters in wrestling history. We will miss you, sir.

You are an idiot I can't believe you have posted a thread with that title when people have not seen Raw yet.

That's why it says "The character of Mr. McMahon" or "The Character of Vince McMahon" or "Mr. McMahon"

lmao, if Vince McMahon was dead WWE.com would NOT have been updated with other articles after Raw such as the aftermath of the draft. It would be dedicated solely to him.

I can see WWE recieving ALOT of critisism for this storyline.
