Brandon Becker Basic Bio
Brandon Becker, a 25-year-old wrestler from Bloomington, Indiana, graduated several years ago from Indiana University. While attending IU, Brandon earned a reputation for being a strong technical worker with great stamina. He did a good job psychologically overcoming his opponents and had the look of a superstar, but he never really came into his own because of his lack of size and power. However, Brandon always loved pro wrestling, and he stayed in shape for several years after graduating, fighting in a few unpublicized bouts in the region, always hoping he'd get a chance to shine as a wrestler. But upon turning 25, he realized he was going nowhere in his career, he hated it in fact, so he quit his job as a sports columnist at the Herald Times in Bloomington in October of 2005 and decided he'd give it his best shot. A year in the wrestling business. If, after a year, he wasn't getting anywhere, he'd know he at least gave it his best, and he'd be able to pursue a real job without thinking he'd never made his move. With $10,000 in the bank he set out on what he hoped would be the journey of a lifetime, and the job interview to end all job interviews -- a tryout at Ring of Honor. He's on the road, he hopes, to legitimate wrestling stardom. Come along for the ride, won't you? Overness 0% (US) Spirit: 10% Power: 4% Technique: 32% Speed: 10% Psychology: 21% Stamina: 40% Toughness: 12% Charisma: 10% Microphone: 10% Safety: 32% Looks: 55% Respect: 0% November 2005 - Week 1 Saturday: I got my tryout match on RoH's Weekend of Thunder, Night Two, during which I was matched against Nigel McGuinness in a singles match. The 25-year-old technician has fought mostly in the UK and the midwest US, where he's quite well-known. I didn't have much time to think when I arrived, since mine was the first match of the evening, and they were using us to rev the crowd up. So of course I felt quite outmatched initially. I saw AJ Styles beforehand and told him I felt out of my depth. He told me I'd do fine, wished me luck and then went backstage and the match began! I did the best I could but my moves were out of step with both his speed and technical skill. He laid me out flat and got the submission with a Guvnor's Crumpet at the 5:00 mark. The match drew a decent C rating, not bad for an opening bout, but I barely had time to feel him out and it was over. Guess that's what happens in tryout matches, you just have to go out there and hope for the best. Either way, enjoyed the rest of the night with a front row seat. Got to see Homicide defeat Colt Cabana in the next bout, followed by a decent bout between Tony Mamaluke and Prince Nana (Mamaluke won it out in a solid well-fought battle). The real highlight though was the hour-long main event, as Bryan Danielson defeated Austin Aries to retain the RoH Heavyweight Title! Best fight I've seen this year, both guys gave it their all. Nigel caught me later that night and told me he thought I'd done quite nicely for a kid who'd been out of the ring for a good while. Seemed he at least thought I could make something of myself, though I was still nervous as all hell when I met up with Cary Silvin around midnight. "So you want to work for me," he said, rubbing his chin. "Don't got much work for a kid your size, I but I guess I can dig up $20 a match if you're willing to job as an enhancement talent worker on the roster." I accepted and then got out of there with my dignity, before I could say anything stupid to muck up the deal. He offered a year's contract, open ended, so I take it he wants to see me molded into something. I will have to hope some other opportunities open up, or I'll be having a tough time making ends meet, but by God, I've got a job, and that's a start. November 2005 - Week 2 Friday: I got a call today from ASW Booker Chad Collyer! Seems All-Star Wrestling, based in Liverpool, England, is in need of an opener for their roster, and has offered me the job, earning $25 per appearance over the next nine months! He wants me to fly out next Monday to participate in ASW's monthly event, Payback. I readily accepted, as this would give me a chance to work monthy overseas and build my reputation there, while keeping my US focus on Philadelphia's Ring of Honor. I wonder who I'll get to fight over in England ... November 2005 - Week 3 Monday: I arrived in Liverpool late this afternoon and learned I'd be getting a lower midcard debut against Harry Smith, who is quite over in the US and Canada but who has never fought a match in England. Son of "British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith, this guy's a fast powerful technical phenom, and I'm going to have my hands full if I want to put on a good match -- or at least a better one than I managed at my RoH debut two weeks ago! The match itself went miserably, however. I handled myself well for a couple minutes, then he gained total control, countering my running face smash attempt with a punch, pounded me with a DDT and then powerslammed me and earned the pinfall at the 3:00 mark. That's the second match in a row in which my skills were severely outmatched. The match itself earned a disappointing D rating from the fans, who barely gave us any notice at all. It's unlikely that this appearance did anything for my UK overness, and I'm lucky you can't be less than completely unknown or that's where I'd be after this one. December 2005 - Week 1 Sunday: I've spent the last month and a half in training at Ring of Honor's wrestling school in Bristol, Penn., and so far it's been time and money well spent! I've seen improvement in speed and power along with some development of my in-ring microphone and charisma skills, and I've modified my diet enough to have increased to the class of Middleweight! So I'm told I'm doing just fine, and I suspect once I can get my in-ring moves worked out to my advantage I should see improvement in my match quality. December 2005 - Week 2 Monday: I got a big match this evening at ASW's Genocide, a singles bout against Shark Boy! And I put on a pretty good match, if I do say so, though I started to wear out after about 15 minutes and realized I wasn't going to get the pin -- so instead I dragged his ass out of the ring, nailed him with a ring post smash, got him in a front facelock, threw him through a chair with a great pancake facebuster and then (earning a HUGE pop from the fans) nailed him with a golf club to the balls! The ref immediately DQ'd me, but it was worth it to see him on the ground groaning as I earned my first-ever round of serious applause from the fans! I'm still a nobody around here, but if I can keep up this level of solid performance and perhaps win a few bouts, I might attract enough notice to earn a part in a storyline. The 17:00 match drew a C rating, earning it a spot as my best performance yet. December 2005 - Week 4 Sunday: Tonight was Ring of Honor's "Final Battle" show, our big New Years bash! And I fought an opener singles match against Alex Arton, otherwise known as "The Golden Greek," who is significantly more over than I am here in the US. And I won the match in stunning fashion! On the ropes, he'd spun me into the corner and was about to hit me with a dropkick, when I successfully managed to land my Edge of Reason finisher as a countermove! He fell like a sack of bricks and I earned the pinfall, after a bout which had been pretty even, back and forth, through that moment at the 11:00 mark! The match drew a C rating from the fans, who seemed to enjoy the bout more than they tend to enjoy most opening matches. It's so great to be able to scratch "earn first win" off my New Years resolution list!

January 2006 - Week 1
Friday: I've yet to win a match in ASW, but I've been doing my job and I think the right people have been noticing. Just got to keep doing what I'm doing and I'll get my push. Tonight on ASW's Going Crazy, I got a match against Harry Smith, who I fought and lost severely against six weeks ago. This time around I gave him a much better fight all around! Though I'd yet to hit a major damaging move, I did avoid a pinfall at 7:00 against his small package, and a moment later avoided submitting to his Bulldog Bite. But I was wearing down and needed to find the strength for a push if I was to win this one. He applied the Camel Clutch at the 9:00 mark and I again refused to submit! I countered his running powerslam with a Driving DDT, landed a running face smash, a discus punch and then failed my finisher, the stronghold, winding up back on the ropes. I got back on the offensive with another Driving DDT countering his powerslam, but flubbed the Welcome to NYC. Damn it! The crowd seemed to be getting into it though, as they'd expected I'd fall in five minutes -- when I hadn't, they seemed to take my side and start rooting for me to pull out a victory! I hit him with a roundhouse body punch followed by a spear, then successfully applied the stronghold, but he refused to submit! Several minutes passed relatively without incident ... we were both wearing out, neither could gain the upper hand, and the crowd smelled blood. He hit me with a small package at the 18:00 mark but I kicked out! He hit me with a corner sit down splash and I again kicked out! Then BOOM! I land a perfect Steven Kick and I hear his nose break as he hit the corner post! 1 ... 2 ... 3! I pull it out in fine style at the 19:00 mark, winning the match with a solid C+ rating from the fans! This feels good! January 2006 - Week 3 Saturday: Tonight on RoH's It All Begins, I took on Izzy in a singles bout! One of the premiere spot monkeys on the east coast, Izzy's the kind of guy I had no hopes of getting to meet in the ring this early in my career, but the fed seems interested in seeing what I can do! He's got unbelievable stamina though, it's going to take a miracle for me to last long in the ring against him. But I handled myself well, overcame early struggles and managed, against all odds, to hit him with the stronghold at the 9:00 mark! He didn't submit, but it was a big move in my favor! I took a significant beating from that point, taking on some serious bumps as the crowd roared for me to get back in it! I got a taste of revenge after he whipped me into a corner, nailing him in the balls with a golf club then hitting him with a perfect pancake facebuster as he coughed and gasped in surprise! 1 ... 2 ... but he kicks out, apparently not pleased by my latest cheating move! At the 21:00 mark I nail the Welcome to NYC, but he won't take the fall. I return the favor a moment later when he nails me with the standing moonsault and I just stand up and shake it off. That's nothing, man! Nothing! He gets me in the crucifix cradle, but I kick out of that as well! He proceeds to unleash his remaining arsenal on me, and I won't back down ... At 24:00 he busted me open with a discus punch, and blood got in my eye, but I did my best to wipe it away and keep fighting. It all ended a few minutes later, however, when I slipped out of a DDT attempt, nailed a hamerlock drive, and then WHAM! Corner Sit Down Splash! And he was out of it! The ref counted down and declared me the stunned winner of a 28:00 match I had no business even being in. The crowd loved it, giving the match a B-. This should give me a big overness boost in the region! February 2006 - Week 1 Friday: I got a great offer today, from WXW owner John Shane! He wants me to sign on as a lower midcarder at World Xtreme Wrestling, earning $40 a match, and they've got a TV show behind them, "WXW Rage TV" ... he told me if I signed on he'd get me contracts tomorrow afternoon and I'd get my first match that night during a TV taping! I'd be a damned fool to skip on that, and it's not like I'm under a written deal in the US with RoH! I think I can handle fighting for both. The deal he's proposed is for six months, after which I'm free to renegotiate. Saturday: Interesting news! John Shane wants me to play a heel role in WXW, something I've never gotten the chance to do! He booked me in a singles match against Jaba King tonight, The fight was pretty average, until around the 10:00 mark, when I just totally unleashed! I slipped out of the crowning moment, hit a blindside high knee, an apron DDT, applied the stronghold then threw King out of the ring! At that point I proceeded to slam him through a chair with a pancake facebuster, which the ref ignored ... then I threw him back into the ring and went for the pin, which he avoided barely. I nailed him with the side effect as he tried to stand, and he fell back, unable to stand again. 1 ... 2 ... 3 ... WINNER! The match got a C+ rating from the crowd as well as a nice roar of approval for me in my new role. February 2006 - Week 2 Saturday: Rematch! Jaba King was still steaming days after I whipped his ass in the ring, saying I cheated and he needed another shot at me. Fine, I'll take that challenge! And it's no holds barred. He keeps pounding me for what seems like half an hour, but it was only about 12 minutes, though the shots to the crotch I kept taking (outside the view of the ref) had me seething, awaiting my chance to punish this *******! I hit him with the neckbreaker and applied the stronghold at 18:00, but he refused to submit. PANCAKE FACEBUSTER! 1 ... 2 ... 3! WINNER! "You can't beat me, Jaba, I've got your number!" I yell as I dance my awy out of the ring to the roars of approval from the crowd. The match drew a C rating, pretty good for an average lower midcard bout. Maybe next time they'll book me a real opponent! February 2006 - Week 3 Saturday: It's nice to have matches more regularly than just at once a month house shows. I'm really getting into my role here at WXW. But I wish they'd give me a shot against someone other than Jaba f---ing King! Tonight we went one on one again It took me twenty minutes to wear him down, but a simple pancake facebuster did him in, AGAIN. I won the match, earned another C from the fans, who clearly were getting tired of us fighting, and called it a night. Next weekend I'll be fighting on RoH's Anniversary Show. Hopefully by the time I get back they'll actually have a booker here with half a brain. February 2006 - Week 4 Saturday: I earned a match tonight against Alastair Ralphs, a solid midcarder, thanks to my improvement in overness this month while working for WXW. And man did I blow it. The match was a real dud, I missed some key spots and fell flat on my face as he punished me with a vertical suplex which slammed me against the ringpost, knocking me out and earning him the pinfall. The match was so poorly received I actually got hit with thrown food as I left the ring. Not a good way to start the Anniversary Show, and from what I hear the rest of the night wasn't much better. Worse news, however, was that as I hit that ringpost, I severely injured my shoulder. I didn't realize until I got back to the locker room that my right arm wouldn't move at all. The federation's doctor tells me I'm unable to wrestle until I get the shoulder surgically repaired. I'll be out of action for at least 30 days.

Eh, it's not too bad ... 30 days ... considering I've had to sim out a month at a time early on to play a match or two, that's not gonna take too long. Thank God it wasn't a broken neck ... 365 days might have been tough to go through

April 2006 - Week 1
Tuesday: I've now recovered from my shoulder injury / surgery, and have been cleared to fight this Friday at WXW's Rock City monthly event! Good thing, too, because I've lost a lot of money by not getting to fight the last month. Friday: I was welcomed back with a WXW match against Danny Daniels, a former ECW referee who has become one of the biggest wrestling stars on the indie circuit! He's way over in the US, at least by midcard WXW standards, and he's got stamina, toughness and power that make me really nervous going into this one. I was out of practice somewhat, but I still managed to last longer than I should have. And when I hit him with a Welcome to NYC followed by the Stronghold, everyone seemed to think I was the winner for sure, but he kicked out and refused to submit! Bastard! So I nailed him with the Steven Kick, which he also kicked out of ... Surely my next move, a pancake facebuster would finish him off? Wouldn't it? 1 ... 2 ... YES! I win the match, the crowd goes crazy for my third finishing move in the final :40, and the match drew a solid C+ rating from the fans. I'm told the fans were really pleased by my performance, and my overness should improve dramatically. If I get a good match tomorrow night on the television show, I could be in a whole new league from where I was before my injury ... Saturday: This morning I woke up to a phone call from BCW's Scott D'Amore, who wants me to come out in two weeks to wrestle at their Nobody's A Fool event, a tryout for a possible spot on their roster! That would be great, because I'd then be fighting in three countries (US, Canada and the UK) which would give me a wider shot at reaching the attention of one of the national feds! So I readily accepted. Tonight, meanwhile, I got another match against Jaba King, who I've handily defeated three times in a row. I can't help but be disappointed by that, and the fact that they're billing it as an upper midcard bout. I should be out of his league by now, shouldn't I? They're not even billing it as a feud, there's so little heat between us. The match took me 24 minutes to complete, but I beat him with a pancake facebuster after hamemring him senseless ... he'd just kept refusing to fall until I made it worth his while (i.e. he couldn't stand up under his own power). The match drew a C+ from the fans but did nothing for my overness. Clearly people are sick of seeing me fight this guy, they know he can't last in the ring with me, it's worthless to keep pushing it, WXW bookers! April 2006 - Week 2 Saturday: Tonight I'm fighting Danny Daniels again, and it's welcome since he's still a worker I feel lucky to have beaten (unlike King, who I simply annihilate as fast as I can). Sure enough, he pounded me early, but when he didn't cream me in the opening few minutes, I knew I'd be able to last with him (people either seem to beat me quickly or I eventually wear them down, move by move by move). Then again, maybe some days just have to be different. I had it close, but at the 11 minute mark he hit me with the Tombstone Cradle Piledriver and I was down for the count despite my best effort to get back up. The match drew a C+ rating and was my first loss in six matches for WXW. April 2006 - Week 3 Saturday: I made a risky move and chose to attend Border City's event in Canada tonight rather than Ring of Honor's Stalemate. That could affect me somewhat with RoH, but I don't want to have to wait another month for my tryout. I fought Frankie Kazarian in the first round, a guy who's WAY over in Canada compared to me (and he's got me beat in the US and UK as well, by a long shot!) The match involved me being beaten down for several minutes, then he hits me hard and fast, eventually getting the three count on a Slingshot Moonsault after 12 minutes. The match drew a C+ rating. The match didn't do what I was hoping it would, and I got offered $20 a match to be an enhancement talent. I respectfully turned it down, as that's not enough to make me want to start full time in Canada, especially with only a show a month in order to improve my skills. They seemed to see that coming. I don't think they really were that desperate to get me on the roster.

April 2006 - Week 4
Saturday: Got a WXW match tonight against Josh Prohibition, as the main event bout for the WXW Heavyweight Title! My first title shot! Excellent ... but unfortunately the fed didn't deem me ready to actually WIN the belt. Instead, though I made a good showing late (landing my newest move, the Becker Wrecker, followed by a spectacular pancake facebuster at the 16:00 mark) I wound up falling to the Path of Resistance, submitting and ending the match with a B- rating at 17 minutes. Not a bad bout though, definitely my best showing overall of my career based on the crowd pop! Meanwhile Prohibition retained his title for the third time. I'll do that. Thanks for reading! I have a big football game tomorrow ... my high school Perry Central (where I'm now a teaching intern), ranked #2 in Indiana's single A class (small schools) will be playing our rival Tell City (Class AA) for the first time in school history, and we're hoping to kick their asses across the county line
So I may or may not play any WreSpi tomorrow. But Saturday I expect I'll be making some progress with Brandon's career

We're a tiny school though, so Friday nights mean maybe 600 people coming out for a big game. It's rural southern Indiana, so it's nothing like Friday Night Lights
Our high school has fewer than 300 students, TOTAL, so we're in the tiniest class

we would be too., but, saying that, we draw 3000 thousand people for basketball games. We are . Good basketball school, never had a football team. actually my school is sucessful in all sports, kind of weird. haha. we are as small as can be 2a in basketball, but we be 1a in football when we get it. by time we get it im more likly to be a coach then a player haha.

We pounded Tell City 28-0, easily dominating our hometown foe ... so now on to some wrestling!
May 2006 - Week 1 Monday: Ohio Valley Wrestling wants me on the roster! A snall fed run by Bill Behrens, OVW features a TV Show (OVW Wrestling) that conflicts directly with WXW's show. Not sure whether I'll ever fight on their show because of that. But they also run monthly shows, and are willing to pay me $80 per appearance over the next three months as a midcarder! So I accepted, unsure how much I'll actually end up working for them, but smart enough not to turn down a great offer just because of uncertainty. Saturday: Tonight I drew my first ever tag match for WXW, me and Snakebite against Trudi Denucci and AJ Sparx in an Elimination Rules match! I eliminated AJ Sparx at the 13:00 mark with a Steven Kick, and at the 20:00 mark Snakebite managed to knock off Trudi Denucci with a spectacular Guillotine Legdrop off the top rope, ending the match with an amazing B+ rating -- the two of us drew some major heat from this one! May 2006 - Week 2 Monday: Tonight at All Star Wrestling's "Disposable Heroes" event, I drew a singles match against Harry Smith. And while I lost the match by submission at 16:00 (he applied the Bulldog Bite) I nailed him successfully with my top finishers, including the Steven Kick and a new one I've been developing, the Becker Wrecker ... I sold well, and should gain from the match, which drew a solid pop with a B- overall rating. Tuesday: So few people were at last night's event I barely saw an improvement in the region (no one even covered the event for the press). And the fed now only has 12 workers including me and the owners, which is a bad sign. I suspect the group's going under. So I called up All Star management and let them know I'm not going to be willing to make these long flights to fight so sporadically when nothing's gained by solid matches. I hate to do it, I wanted to build a rep in the UK, but it's just not going to happen via them. Friday: Got a match against Danny Daniels tonight on WXW's "Free Fall." The match went well for me, I managed to hit most of my major moves and keep the crowd in this one for nearly a quarter of an hour, but he knocked me flat after 15:00 with a Tombstone Cradle Piledriver, which ended the match by pinfall. The match drew a B- rating and a pretty decent pop from the crowd. Saturday: Tonight I chose to attend RoH's "Nowhere To RUn" and didn't even get booked. I guess that happens sometimes, but I can't deny I was disappointed. May 2006 - Week 3 Monday: I made my debut for Ohio Valley Wrestling at "OVW Into The Fire" this evening, earning a main event match against Danny Doring, a guy so well regarded in the fed it's amazing that I'm even getting to step in the ring with him at this level in my career! It's a singles match with nothing on the line but my pride. I'd like niothing better than to go into the ring against a guy like him and dominate, bringing the crowd to my side with stellar moves. I held my own early, managing to finally nail him with a Becker Wrecker at the ten minute mark, but I couldn't seem to find an edge! And he never wore down. That killed me -- he stomped me in the end, winning the match at the 12:00 mark with a Wham Bam Thank Ya Ma'am ... I was out for the count. The match got a C+ but was barely worthy as the main event of a show. I don't think I was really ready for that push, but I'm going to make the best out of whatever the fed chooses to use me for. To do anything less would be foolish ... and would spell the nearing end of my career in this business. Saturday: Tonight on WXW Rage TV I was given no part in the show. Should have gone with OVW, but I was told by my agent that, despite their show having better visability, WXW would be the wisest choice. Maybe next weekend I won't make that mistake. May 2006 - Week 4 Friday: I got a call today from the struggling Heartland Wrestling Association. Brock Guffman's roster has dwindled to fifteen active workers, So he was desperate to get me on a PPA contract worth $160 per appearance for the fed as an upper midcard babyface. He wanted me for six months, but due to my uncertainty about his ability to run shows on his small roster, I talked him down to three months. Their event this month took place last week. So it may be a bit before I fight for them, but I'm looking forward to the chance for a higher push, even if their booking ability may be suspect -- who knows? Maybe he's at work on reviving the franchise with me near the top! That'd be nice ... and the deal's negotiable in just 90 days! Saturday: Stupid stupid stupid! I went with WXW again this week over OVW, and again they failed to book me! What the hell is going on? I've done nothing but shine for these guys! They shouldn't be embarassing me like this ... I spoke with John Shane and told him it's not worth it. I'm getting twice as much per appearance with OVW and their show's better rated, so I'm leaving my contract with two and a half months to go. He barely waved goodbye, so I guess I made the right decision. In other contract news, I'll be renegotiating with OVW within the next five weeks, so I will want to make an impression with them while I have the chance. I still have nearly six months left on my RoH contract. June 2006 - Week 1 Tuesday: HWA is holding "HWA Overload" this friday, so I should see my debut that night! OVW's show "Good Times Gone Bad" is Saturday night, and RoH will hold "The Future Is Now" next Saturday. Other than that, my Saturdays from here on out will be dominated by OVW Wrestling, their taped TV show. Friday: My worst fears were realized as HWA had to cancel their show due to lack of wrestlers. I don't anticipate anything different next month, though they did manage to add another worker or two since signing me. It's a competitive business and I just don't know that Guffman's ready to keep his fed going in this climate. Saturday: OVW ran a show with longer matches tonight, and didn't have room for me. That or they were saving me for the bigger event, "Good Times Gone Bad," which was immediately following the taped TV show. That wound up being the case, as they booked me in the main event match against CM Punk. And it was a cage escape match, which made me nervous (I've only done one of those before, and I lost badly). Nine minutes in, after a dismal few minutes of fighting on my part, I managed to catch him at the top of the cage and performed a stunning Becker Wrecker, landing him on the mat headfirst! The crowd ROARED in approval! A few moments later I did it again, hitting the Becker Wrecker followed by a Welcome to NYC, but he grabbed the club out of my hand before I could nail him in the balls, and next thing I knew I had taken a shot to the right side of my head with the club! He then managed to escape as I cradled my right ear, which was oozing blood ... the fans gave the match a C+ for ending too quickly -- it was all over in 13 minutes. But other than that it was a fight I'll be remembering for a while, at least once I get my hearing back. Damn! June 2006 - Week 2 Friday: John Zandig of Combat Zone Wrestling is in the same boat as Heartland, desperately needing fresh blood for the ranks. He's offered me the same deal as Heartland did, and I accepted -- three months at $160 per appearance. They're hoping to run their monthly show, "Killing Machine," next Thursday. Saturday: Tonight at RoH's "The Future Is Now," I was booked in a 4 on 4 match: Beef Wellington, Aaron Fire, Capital T and T-Dawg against Shawn Steele, Buck Quartermain, myself and Alex Arion. The match didn't do much to get the crowd roiled early ... too many tagouts made it hard for them to care what the hell we were doing. I finally got some time in the ring after about fifteen minutes, and the crowd really got into it as I hammered the other tiring team with all manner of brutal moves! They kept tagging out before I could ever get a pin, which is the only reason the fight wound up going as long as it did ... and in the end, though I'd pulled off some impressive finishers (including a great pancake facebuster on Aaron Fire and a brutal Steven Kick delivered to the head of Beef Wellington, I would wind up losing the match. Beef Wellington hit me with a Top Rope Neckbreaker at the 25:00 mark and I went down for the count. But the match drew a stunning B rating from the fans, who really caught on as the match progressed. June 2006 - Week 3 Thursday: Surprisingly, CZW seems to have rallied, building up a roster big enough to run "Killing Machine" successfully tonight! I was put in an early match with Buck Quartermain against Daizee Haze and Simply Luscious in a regular 2 on 2 match. The early portion of the fight was just plain lousy, as Haze kept countering all of Quartermain's best moves with stupid bitch-slaps! Awful ... but I came in after about nine minutes, took on Simply Luscious, and promptly nailed her with the Becker Wrecker and a Pancake Facebuster, ending this weak-assed bout with a pinfall at 10:00! The match drew a C+ mostly thanks to my quick painless finish, since the fans were embarassed to be submitted to a mismatch of this caliber. Awful booking, man! Awful. After the match, I started feeling some serious pain in my neck. I'd taken an odd fall late in the fight, but hadn't thought much of it. But by midnight, having sat through the rest of the nights' matches, I wasn't able to get the pain out of my head. So I caught the CZW doctor on his way out the door and convinced him to take me back to his office for x-rays. I can't believe the damned results ... I've got a strained disc, a major neck injury! He immediately booked me for emergency surgery ... Friday: I had surgery early this morning, and thankfully I'm told there were no glitches. The surgeon managed to repair the damage, but I can't wrestle again until the end of July. Damn it! Two month-long injuries this year, that's really going to put a cramp down on my attempts to build overness.
