Default Val is the man to replace Cena

With Val Venis winning WWE's poll to be the next world champion, personally i think wwe should go with what the fans want...What do you think? WHo do you think should win the strap this sunday night?

Unless you actually ARE Val Venis, you my friend, are touched in the head.
Going from John Cena to Val Venis...... from an unstoppable force that sells merchandise like hot cakes to a jobber with a silly gimmick whose pops come from people who like the fact that he talks about porn all the time and people who swear its 1998.

That my friend... is a jump that would land Evil Kenivel in a hospital....

That poll was OBVIOUSLY dominated by 4 or 5 smarks with bonars for Val. It would otherwise simply be unfathomable that he would win by such a large percentage. I would understand a narrow margin over HHH but you dont have to be a rocket scientist to realize that in order for him to win the poll with exactly HALF the votes would mean someone with no life and/or girlfriend just kept refreshing the page over and over. For all we know some Val Venis fan club found out about the poll and told all their members to do this.

The man has no momentum, no hair and a gimmick that was only taken seriously at a time when 80 year old women were giving births to hands.

I mean Jesus, I love Val and I loved the attitude era.... BUT THIS IS NOT 1998!!

I agree. Val as the center piece attraction? I don't care if he had recieved 90% of the vote.

Of course they did see fit to put a strap on Khali.

What's wrong with Val being champion? It would shock the masses, please the masses and be a throwback to 2000 WCW which WWE and TNA are trying to replicate at the moment.

It would certainly shock the masses... but it would only please smarks. Children will run to the stores to buy a John Cena doll, they wont do the same for a porn star. Hell, most casual fans today have no clue who he is.

But if the IWC says he should be champion then I guess he should be champion.... lord knows how much better the WWE would be if they listened to them for once...

JR: Ladies and gentlemen, what a RAW we've had so far and we are still half way through.... we still have to see our heavyweight title match tonight with Val Venis taking on Mr. Kennedy!

Lawler: Thats right, JR... it's a battle of the hypocrite drug user taking on the one trick pony!

But first.... PUPPIEEEESS..... No no wait.....

Actually..... it's gunna be Victoria taking on Beth Phoenix round one of a best out of 101 tournament!!

AND THEY'LL BE FULLY CLOTHED!!

JR: Should be a slobber knocker....

But next.... Chris Benoit rises from the grave to plead his innocence....

1 thing, i don't consider myself a smark, i consider myself a casual fan.

I tape WWE and tend to watch it on fast forward, and i tend to download the occasional PPV. I watch TNA when 2 and a half men, scrubs or Friends isn't on the other side mainly because it bores me.

I am a fan of John Cena, i think he is entertaining and can see why WWE has faith in him. His promo's are lame, but they hit a point where they are so lame i enjoy them a lot. I can say the same for his matches.

I like Khali in the same way i liked Big Show, Taker, Kane, and every other big man the WWE has had. I like seeing something different, i like seeing a guy that if i bumped into in a street, well i would break the 100m sprint record going in the other direction. It's different.

I don't seriousley want Val Venis as a champion and anyone that does wants their head checked, i just wanted to start a convo on who you think should be champion while injecting a bit of humour into this, as come on, does anyone seriousley believe that poll isn't rigged?

I'm a casual wrestling fan. Formula 1 racing and Newcastle United football Club dominate my sporting interests, with Boxing and the NFL coming after, I'm a Patriots fan too, have been since 1996. I watch wrestling for the sheer fun of watching it, that sense that here is something which encourages you to believe in that fantasy world you lived in when you were a kid. The WWE wrestling kinda lets me go back to a world where anything was possible and a 5'3 180 pound guy could beat up a 7'4 500 pound freak. After all, isn't this sense of disbelief what wrestling is all about.

Hmm. I'm confused wether you like Val or not, you say you don't but then say its about disbelief. Disbelief = 'A Pornstar' being the WWE Champion. Also the title of this thread is confusing, coz it sounds as though Cena HAS been replaced with Val.

As an entertainer, Val is good, he was brilliant in the 90's and probably suits the style wwe are going for now, but he has been jobbed so far that he has no credibility.

However if you go on wwe.com there is a poll, who do you want as the next champion, val is winning 48%

Thumbs down

I like Val around 8000% more than the next guy but, Sweet Jesus Christ on a Tricked out Unicycle, Val as champ would not work. A wwe.com poll in no way represents "what the fans want" unless by fans you are referring to an incredibly small section of the whole. If he was ever going to do it, it was a long time ago now sadly.

"Making his way to the ring, hailing from the deepest recesses of HeAT... The WWE Champion, Val Venis!"................ Non.
