Val is literally in my mind in the top ten workers in the WWE.
That being said he should not get a main event push... not now at least... if he could prove he deserves it that would be fine... I think right now he does deserve a Tag Team or Singles Push... It really would not hurt to move him to ECW since there roster is so thin right now. |

Whether you like it or not, Val is loved by the McMahons.

McMahon loves that sort of worker though, a reliable guy who sticks around no matter what, a very loyal worker. He will always have a job in WWE along with Hardcore Holly. He's the sort of guy every promotion needs, he's a solid worker who does his job, he dosent whine, he just gets on with the job in hand and does it to the best of his ability NQA. McMahon has always and will always love a man like that.

And it wouldn't be the first time he's rewarded such a long record of loyalty with a stopgap main event run. Look at JBL's last hurrah in the ring. Sure the APA may have been more over at their height than Val is now. But by the time they turned and repackaged him into the Leyfield persona, the APA was sinking like a lead zeppelin. But once JBL let the side ventures go to his head, he became solid in the role. Not the world beater he played himself up to me but solid.
Hardcore Holly's another example. He might not have gotten a world title out of it a la JBL. But when Brock Lesnar put Holly put for a year, Holly returned to a bit of a main event run so he could seek revenge on Brock. Granted, he evntually settled back down to lesser positions. But he got a shot at the top just the same. So why not Val? Have him suddenly snap on a guy he's supposed to be putting over and go Howard Beal on management. Would we have the same issues seeing Val as a temporary main eventer if he were suddenly "mad as hell and not going to take it anymore"? I'm sure no one except the most markish in the movement see Val as a long term champion the way Cena had just been. But as a floatover to provide some stability at a time when its desparately needed? I've certainly heard the world come up with worse ideas. |

The problem is, you could think of half a dozen "Transitional" champions to do the same thing, that are over, and closer to the ME.
From Raw: Jeff Hardy, Kennedy, Orton, Carlito, Booker (after his suspension), HHH, and Umaga Smackdown: Matt Hardy, MVP, Finlay, Kane, Undertaker, Mysterio, Mark Henry and Flair? ECW: Burke, Punk, Thorn....Possibly BDV. Just saying they would be higher in the card then Val, not saying they would do a better job. |

You know, the poll could be effected by people who are just being sarcastic, or trying to give support to a worker who they feel deserves more than he gets. I voted for Val Venis, but if WWE did put the strap on him, I'd be moaning about it afterwards, saying how retarded the booking team is.
Didn't Stevie Richards get a considerable high vote to be Vince's Son? I doubt anyone who voted believed their vote meant anything. |

Sorry, dude. But few of these fit with the long record of loyalty idea I was putting forth. RAW: Jeff Hardy no. He's done an El Flako in the past and disappeared to TNA for awhile. Kennedy, Orton, Carlito. Nope Sorry. Haven't been around long enough. Ditto Umaga. Booker maybe but there's the WCW thing. And Triple H is family. Smackdown: Matt Hardy I'll give you. There was the Edge thing. But that was more a personal than professional matter. So I can't see him being faulted for that. MVP too new. Finlay not around long enough. Flair too identified with WCW. The rest again I grant you. ECW: Puh_LEASE. Only one who could remotely qualify here is Big Daddy V. Punk, Burke and Thorn are all too new for loyalty runs. If you want to talk just purely transitional champs, I can see arguments for many of these guys you mentioned. And yes with most those cases would be better than Val's. But if we're talking strictly loyalty grounds, like a Val move would likely be, Val's got most of this list beat. |

If its to reward loyalty, reliability and maintain (semi) credibility as a main eventer without using one of the "big guns" then there's only one option: Isaac Yankem.

Who is more loyal then Finlay? The guy is a road agent and a wrestler. And if loyalty was such a big deal, why did Scotty 2 Hotty get cut?

Loyalty pretty much means we can step on you and you wont mind....

And I'm not knocking that. But for the JBL type deal, he hasn't been with the company long enough
