The Ultimate Fighting Championship 2;

Fight 1,

The qualifier from the first UFC event faces the Winner of the first UFC Tournament in the opening fight of the 2nd UFC Tournament .. Confused!? Jason Delucia has faced Royce Gracie before in a Gracie Family Challenge and lasted all of five minutes two years ago. This time he starts well but it isn't long before Gracie has him down and in an Armbar forcing him to tap, it appeared that Gracie was slow to release the hold and the Commentators put over that his Elbow had popped.

Winner Via Submission (Armbar) Royce Gracie in 3:27 (Great).

Fight 2,

Minoki Ichihara was up next and he faces the stumbling block known has Orlando Weit in his bid for a fight against Royce Gracie. Ichihara knocks the Muay Thai World Champion down and hits probably four more elbows than he should of been allowed to, should the refs have more power!? I.E the power to stop a fight?

Winner via TKO (Strikes) Minoki Ichihara in 1:20 (Good).

Fight 3,

Porn theatre owner, the Sambo trained 'Freek' Hamaker has he points out he wants to be called continued his run in a fight that goes over ten minutes where he locked in a sloppy Rear Naked Choke after both men scrabbled around on the floor looking for an upper hand and Johnny Rhodes just didn't have enough.

Winner Via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Frank 'Freak' Hamaker in 13:27 (Poor).

Fight 4,

A long drawn out fight which added to the qualifier between Scott Baker and Ichihara must make a few members of UFC management wonder if rounds are a good idea, the fight sees Scott Morris with the better ground game and he beats Wizard by Submission leaving the commentators to once again point out that if your going to enter the Ultimate Fighting Championships you need a good ground game.

Winner Via Submission (Triangle) Scott Morris in 38:43 (Average).

Fight 5,

The first of the semi final matches and we get the Royce Gracie versus Minoki Ichihara fight we've been hoping for. The fight goes to ground after a few minutes of circling and Gracie eventually gets the better of his Japanese opponant winning once again by Submission.

Winner Via Submission (Americana) Royce Gracie in 11:16 (Great).

Fight 6,

The second of the two semi final fights sees Ninjitsu practisioner Scott Morris facing Sambo trained 'Freek' Hamaker the fight goes looong and its not good the two fighters end up exhausted and seem in no shape to compete by the time 'Big' John McCarthy recieves some sort of an order from management and the fight is stopped Scott Morris is declared the winner by decision which the commentator/announce does not go into, leaving it purposly ambiguous it seems to confuse us.

Winner Via Decision Scott Morris (Very Poor).

UFC 2 Final,

Scott Morris is not in any shape to put up much of a fight and Royce states before the fight that 'he'll only win the fight by his favorite Submission because he'll find it boring otherwise'.

Winner Via Submission (Kimura) Royce Gracie in 7:12.

Thanks for the picks guys.

The UFC, the company that was brought about to not only showcase the talents of the Gracie family but also to show how their brand of Gracie Jiu Jitsu could beat any fighting style in the world. Well not any more the companies first show was meant to be a one off but the success it brought persuaded Rorian Gracie and Art Davie to to put on a second even bigger event. But now rumours persist that Rorian Gracie is pulling out, after Scott Morris and Frank Hamaker went to a time limit draw (in a show said to have no draws or time limits) then Morris got put through by Decision (on a show said to have no judges) Rorian Gracie is said to be unhappy at these decisions that were said to be made by Davie and SEG (the PPV providers) after realising that they would overrun their Pay Per View time.
More news as we have it.

A big change is in place for UFC 3 the fights will now be fought with a 30 minute time limit in place and 3 Judges will score the fight if a Tournament fight goes the distance.

Ultimate Fighting Championships 3: The American Dream.

Fight 1,

Emmanuel 'Manny' Yarbrough (Sumo) faces off against Steve Jennum (Ninjitsu) Manny is billed has the largest athelete in the world and it would be hard to disagree with this statement even after hearing that he has cut over 100lbs for this fight and now weighs in at a slim trim ... 600lbs. After a little circling and an exchange of strikes Jennum offloads with a big right and downs the big Sumo wrestler knocking him out.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Steve Jennum in 2:11 (Decent).

Fight 2,

'The Worlds Most Dangerous man' begins his campaign to face and beat Royce Gracie in a fight against Judoka Christophe Leninger. Both men attempt takedowns with this seemingly their entire game, it is Shamrock thats is ultimately successful and after 3 minutes on the ground he locks in an Americana and his on his way to the semis.

Winner Via Submission (Americana) Ken Shamrock in 8:03 (Average).

Fight 3,

Goju Ryo Karate versus Kick Boxing or Harold Howard versus Roland Payne to put it another way, here in the third of four Quarter final fights. The fight sees both men throwing strikes staying on their feet and the fight goes the distance of 30 minutes.

Winner Via Judges Decision (Unanimous) Roland Payne (Average).

Fight 4,

The last of the Quarter final fights of course sees Royce Gracie two time UFC tounament winner (the only winner to date) and he faces Kimo Leopoldo and in something right out of a Pro Wrestling angle Kimo Leopoldo comes to the ring carrying a wooden cross (which we'll not even go into how wrong this is here). Kimo is a Black Belt in Taekwondo. Kimo seems to be able to block Royce Gracies takedown attempts every step of the way but he does finally go down and Gracie does what he does best and eventually locks in a Kimura but Kimo put up one hell of a fight possibly the toughest fight Royce Gracie has had since starting in UFC.

The Winner Via Submission (Kimura) Royce Gracie in 7:47 (Good).

Fight 5,

The first of the two semi final fights sees Ken Shamrock face off against Steve Jennum, after some exchanges of strikes Shamrock manages to Slam Jennum down and whilst on the ground he went for the Submission.

Winner Via Submission (Achilles Lock) Ken Shamrock in 13:05 (Poor).

Fight 6,

Roland Payne is the next man to step up tring to stop Royce Gracie going out undefeated but as soon as Gracie got his opponant down it was over (11 seconds between takedown to tap).

Winner Via Submission (Kneebar) Royce Gracie in 4:29 (Average)

Fight 7,

The final sees the fight everyone was waiting for 'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock taking on the UFC's most dominant fighter and two time Ultimate Fighting Champion Royce Gracie. Shamrock Slams Gracie down but he gets back on his feet, Gracie locks in an Armbar but Shamrock refuses to be beat breaking out of it but Royce Gracie has alot of weapons in his arsenal and when in mount he puts his legs in position to set up the triangle choke and its over.

Winner Via Submission (Triangle) Royce Gracie in 11:01 (Great).

UFC 4 has just been announced and with no Royce Gracie will this more 'even' playing field be a good thing or bad thing. It could go either way with the excitment of anyone can win or will the fact that the Gracie name was a draw kill the attendance figures and inevitably the UFC as a whole with it!?

Ultimate Fighting Championships 4: Revenge of the Warriors!

'The Sandman' Guy Mezger (Karate) vs Joe Son (Joe Son Do)
Guy Mezder is a 1993 and 1994 World Karate Champion whilst you may recognise his opponant Joe Son has the Trainer/Cornerman of Kimo Leopoldo (the man who put up a good fight last show against Royce Gracie).

Eldo Dias Xavier (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) vs Dan Severn (Wrestling)
Xavier is clearly UFC's attempt to replace Royce Gracie being a BJJ fighter whilst his opponant is being described has the first World Class Wrestler to enter the Octogon and he holds 13 National AAU wrestling championships.

Melton 'The Punisher' Bowen (Boxer) vs Kevin Rosier Kick Boxing)
Bowen is a top class Boxer and faces Rosier who competed at UFC 1 losing in the final to Royce Gracie.

'Freek' Hamaker (Sambo) vs Gerard Gordeau (Karate)
Another 2 UFC returnees with the 2-1 Hamaker facing 1-1 Gordeau with the semis being both mens last fight.

Quick Picks.

1, Guy Mezger vs Joe Son
2, Eldo Dias Xavier vs Dan Severn
3, Melton Bowen vs Kevin Rosier
4, 'Freek' Hamaker vs Gerard Giordeau

Semis,

Winner of 1 vs Winner of 2
Winner of 3 vs Winner of 4

Final;

Semi 1 vs semi 2

Ultimate Fighting Championships 4: Revenge of the Warriors!

UFC 4 will be the first Ultimate Fighting Championship without the inclusion of a Gracie and so we are guarenteed a new Ultimate Fighting Champion!

Fight 1,
Frank "Freel" Hamaker (Sambo) (2-1) vs Gerard Gordeau (Karate) (1-1)

The announcers have started to mention the fight records of the fighters now ( i guess without Royce Gracie to talk about they need something). Freek is giving up 31lbs in this fight as well has being 5 inches smaller than his opponant, Freek misses a simple jab and Gerard Gordeau doesn't need much more invitation than the he hits a barrage of punches sending his opponant to the ground before dropping down to the side of him and continuing to pound away leaving the ref to use his new power and stop the fight.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Gerard Gordeau in 3:02 (Decent).

Fight 2,
Melton 'The Punisher' Bowen (Boxing) (0-0) vs Kevin Rosier (Kickboxing) (2-1)

Bowen is the WBF Intercontinental Heavyweight champion with 24 KO's in his 37 pro fights. He is proclaimed as the first "real" boxer in the UFC. It is Rosier though that shows the better Boxing first hitting a series of punches before backing slightly dodging a Bowen right then jumping back in and striking again trapping Bowen against the Cage and even though he falls the blows keep on coming and the ref steps in for the second time of the night.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Kevin Rosier in 6:13 (Poor).

Fight 3,
Eldo Dias Xavier (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) () vs 'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestler) (0-0)

Xavier is giving up 70lbs but he is put over has being bigger than the previous tournament winners and he even mentions in his vt that he is out to prove that his Jiu Jitsu is the best fighting style. Dan Severn is, of course, a career wrestler and the first high level one to compete in the UFC. Severn takes down Xavier early (within the first 2 minutes) and he controls him on the ground finally locking in an Armbar.

Winner Via Submission Dan Severn in 3:56 (Great).

Fight 4,
'The Sandman' Guy Mezger (Kick Boxer) (1-0) vs Joe Son (Joe Son Do) (0-0)

Son is Kimo Leopoldo's 23 year old manager as well as the founder of Joe-Son-Do Son. Joe is also a very religious man, just like Kimo. Kimo actually leads Son to the Octagon, carrying a bible verse on a placard in front of Son, who is struggling to carry the cross that Kimo carried out in his entrance. Maybe that is because Kimo is 6'2, while Son is all of 5'4. Guy Mezger is a kick boxer from Dallas. Mezger was a high school wrestler, so there might be a well rounded skill set. Strike of the night is easily the Guy Mezder right uppercut that put Son down he was crouched right down to hit the move (must see it to believe it).

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Guy Mezder in 5:09 (Average).

Semi Final Fights.

Fight 5,
Kevin Rosier (Kickboxing) (3-1) vs Gerard Gordeau (Karate) (2-1)

These two have fought before meeting in the semis of UFC 1, where Rosier got the better of his Dutch opponant. But things don't always go the same way twice .. A massive right from Gordeau put Rosier down before he he even hit the ground.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Gerard Gordeau in 13:46 (Average).

Fight 6,
'The Sandman' Guy Mezger (Kick Boxer) (2-0) vs 'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestler) (1-0)

Who will face the Dutch Karate Fighter in the final is the big question here both fighters looked impressive in the first round but as the announcers said if Severn can take Mezger down he wins. In an incredible feat of strength Dan Severn picked Mezger up on his shoulder and slammed him down on the mat but just to contridict everyone after a few minutes on the floor Mezger managed to seperate and they were back on their feet, but they were soon back on the ground going nearly half the time limit before Severn finally shows his Submission skills.

Winner Via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Dan Severn in 13:48 (Decent).

Final.
'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestler) (2-0) vs Gerard Gordeau (Karate) (3-1)

The fioght went to the ground after Severn hooked Gordeau's arms before using his power to force him down and once on the ground the finish was inevitable, or was it ...

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Dan Severn in 6:28 (Decent).

UFC 4 Tournament Winner: 'The Beast' Dan Severn

After winning the Tournament Dan Severn was asked who he wanted to fight if he could face anyone and he replied Scott Morris UFC 2 finalist who went 3 victories in the biggest ever Tournament so is one of the top fighers in the world.

Ultimate Fighting Championships 5: The Return of the Beast!

The Weigh In!

Kimo Leopoldo (235lbs) vs (215lbs) Art Jimmerson
Roland Payne (205lbs) vs (210lbs) Johnny Rhodes

The Tournament;
Amaury Bitetti (185lbs) vs (220lbs) Oleg Taktarov
Dan Severn (250lbs) vs (210lbs) Scott Morris
Ken Shamrock (225lbs) vs (225lbs) Asbel Cancio
Minoki Ichihara (178lbs) vs (263lbs) David Abbott

A few rule changes have been put in place tonight, the referee will only stop the fight if the fallen fighter is not "Intelligently defending" themselves. Referees now have the power to seperate fighters on the ground if they are inactive and finally Strikes to the groin are now considered fouls (alongside the usual Headbutting, Eye gouging and Biting).

Fight 1,
Minoki Ichihara (Karate) (2-1) vs 'Tank' Abbott (Pit Fighting) (0-0)

'Tank' is waay larger than Ichihara but going by previous UFC tounaments bigger almost never meens better so this isn't an easy win for Tank. After checking a leg kick Tank destroys Ichihara with some big punches and he callapseso he ground where the ref steps in to stop any more damage.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Tank Abbott in 7:42 (Decent).

Fight 2,
'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock (Shoot Fighting) (6-2) vs Asbel Cancio (Wing Tsun Kung Fu) (0-0)

With both men weighing in at the same 225lbs it looks like a pretty even fight to the who haven't seen Shamrock before, he took Cancio down fairly easily and once on the ground it was only going to end one way.

Winner Via Submission (Armbar) Ken Shamrock in 2:27 (Great).

Fight 3,
'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (3-0) vs Scott Morris (Ninjitsu) (3-1)

The match we've been waiting for, for 5 months ever since Dan Severn called him out after winning UFC 4. The announcers go over that for the last year+ Scott Morris has been telling everyone who will listen that if it wasn't for his long semi final match exhausting him he would of won UFC 2. Now the question will be answered ... Severn gets a couple of Takedowns to his name but struggles to finish Morris off in the first 5 minutes or so. Severn hits what is becoming his trademark something not seen by anyone else in the UFC he lifts up Morris and Slams him down. Morris again whilst down prevents the Rear Naked Choke and then with the hooks still in place Severn hits some big Strikes pounding away on his opponant.

Winner Via TKO (Strikes) Dan Severn in 10:03 (Good).

Fight 4,
Amaury Bitetti (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) (2-1) vs 'The Russian Bear' Oleg Taktarov (Sambo) (3-0)

Taktarov is a European judo, Sambo and jiu jitsu champion, he has been living in Dallas and has not lost in ten years. The Announcers hype him as a big deal and a major threat to win the tournament. He fights in a full blue gi - we will see if that works as well for him as it did for Gracie. The announcers spend a few minutes going over Bitetti's many accomplishments in Vale Tudo and Jiu Jitsu to start. The fight went longest of the night so far.

Winner Via Submission (Triangle with Armbar) Amaury Bitetti in 16:12 (Average).

Fight 5,
Roland Payne (Kick Boxing) (1-1) vs Johnny Rhodes (Karate) (1-1
)

The first of 2 non Tournament fights. Both fighters quickly got close and starting exchanging close range strikes until an Enormous Right Hand from Johnny Rhodes puts Roland Payne out before he even hits the ground.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Johnny Rhodes in 1:27 (Good).

Semi Finals,

Fight 6,
'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock (Shoot Fighting) (7-2) vs David 'Tank' Abbott (Pit Fighter) (1-0)

Surprising a few people the fight went long, Tank hit some big punches almost putting Shamrock out on his feet but he soon got back in his stride and went back to trying to take the big man down. The announcers were just saying that Shamrock is rocked and really doesn't look like he has much left in the tank (excuse the pun) when Abbott misses with a left leaving himself open to a massive Uppercut from Shamrock and he proves just why he is called the Worlds Most Dangerous Man and puts his opponant out.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Ken Shamrock in 18:08 (Good).

Fight 7,
Amaury Bitetti (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) (3-1) vs 'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (4-0)

A takedown within the first minute saw Severn works to side control then gets Bitetti to show his back and locks in the Rear Naked Choke.

Winner Via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Dan Severn in 3:28 (Great).

Fight 8,
Kimo Leopoldo (Taekwondo) (0-1) vs Art 'One Glove' Jimmerson (Boxing) (0-1)

The fight is alot more even than those that saw both mens last fights, Art has improved alot and got rid of the stupid One Glove he has improved his ground game (from zero to even attempting a submission) Kimo didn't seem quite has prepared has he did for his fight with Royce Gracie.

Winner Via Knock Out (Punch) Kimo Leopoldo in 14:23.

Tournament Final.

Fight 9,
'The Beast' Dan Severn (Wrestling) (5-0) vs 'The Worlds Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock (Shoot Fighting) (7-2)

How much does Shamrock have left in the tank? Can 'The Beast' win his second UFC Tournament in a row? Severn take the first advantag catching a weak leg kick from Shamrock and holding his leg forcing him to the ground. Both are finally stood up after spending a little over 5 minutes on the ground, Shamrock takes the second Takedown right up against the Cage wall and smothers him against it before he attempts a Guillotine Choke.

Winner Via Submission (Guillotine Choke) Ken Shamrock in 14:40 (Decent).
