First of all "unscaved" isn't even a word, but I think you meant unscathed. Which is not really true as Anderson landed some punishment including a small cut on Cote's forehead. Furthermore, there is no report out there saying he tore his ACL. All that is known right now is that it is an old injury that Cote has had, coming from his own mouth. Not saying he did or did not tear it, but that is currently unknown.

And lastly, do you need to start a thread for both Spoilers and "Who's Watching"? Why not just start a UFC 90 thread, and keep all discussion in one? Sorry to be such a douche about this, but it has indeed annoyed me to that extent.

1st off, I did not say that he tore his ACL, He Blew it Out, it's an old injury and i know this because i myself have trained with him in Montreal

2nd, excuse my bad grammar

3rd, Thanks for the gifs Bigpapa, The Dos Santos fight really suprised me quite a bit

I have found the Awards that were given for the fights :

FIGHT OF THE NIGHT : Sean Sherk vs. Tyson Griffin, I personally went berserk watching this fight

SUBMISSION OF THE NIGHT : Spencer Fisher, It was a shame we didn't get to see this fight, I personally love Fisher

KO OF THE NIGHT : Junior dos Santos, So much for Werdum being next in line for the title. I don't know if you saw Fertitas expression when Werdum went down

I think the Werdum loss helps both himself and obviously Cigano. Cigano has come to the UFC as a relative unknown but now he has a big win over Werdum that make him an instant contender which is great for the currently weak Heavyweight division. But then Werdum in my opinion doesn't come off that bad from this fight. Sure he got KO'ed by a newcomer but if he won what would he do. Everyone expected him to win easily and he would be waiting for ages while the Heavyweight tournament finishes. This loss now lets Werdum fight once of twice more while the tournament is going on and if he wins both of them then he will be right back in the hunt. So now instead of the UFC having a top Heavyweight in Werdum sitting out for ages waiting for his shot now they have a new exciting new prospect in Cigano and they still have a top Heavyweight in Werdum but now he will be in the octagon instead of waiting on the sidelines.

I like Cote and would have been thrilled to see him win that one. Its cool that he made it to the third round. But I honestly think it got there because Silva carried it there. Silva did more "playing" in this fight than he has before. While it was impressive that Silva nailed him twice and Cote basically didn't flinch, at no point did Cote seem to have the champ in trouble. If Silva had decided to unload and go after it earlier - it looked like he was about to as the third round started - the fight might have been much more one-sided. Maybe Silva wouldn't have droppd Cote, but he might have been able to hurt him.

I think if Silva was really serious about finishing Cote a soon as possible he would of got him in that thai clinch asap and KO'ed him with those devastating knees. And failing that I think he could of took him down and subbed him with ease in the first round.

Like how you lied about that after saying it two times in this thread... and lets be honest, blowing it out and tearing it are effectively the same thing when talking about injuries to the ACL/MCL/etc.

Oh yeah? Musta been good friends with him and been a training partner when he did this FOUR WEEKS AGO.

Quote:
The report indicates that the Canadian actually suffered the injury just four weeks out from the fight and decided to push through it and challenge “The Spider” rather than withdraw from the card, which had already been ravaged by injuries.

He took a cortisone shot to dull any discomfort prior to the showdown and all seemed to be good until Cote tweaked the knee in the second round. Cote then came out for the third round and lasted just 39 seconds — he collapsed in a heap when the meniscus finally gave way.
Cote tore the meniscus, has surgery earlier today, and will return in around eight months.

I beat Patrick Cote in a fight when he blew out his ACL, it was an old injury actually, which happened while I was training with him for said fight.

True Story.
