if you have not of TEW welcome to the sight go, to the main page and down load the demo.

If you are asking for a EWR 5.0, Adam has stated several times in the past that coding a game at that level no longer offers a challange and so he is not interested in returning to the series. I do recognize that EWR & TEW are two different games from the same genre, and can understand how intimidating the learning curve with TEW is (along with the extra time it takes to manage TEW).

But Most people do end up finding that TEW really is the better experience once you take the time to get into it.

Either way, don't look for a EWR 5.0 from Adam or GDS any time in the future.

Yeah, I personally don't understand why anyone would want to go back to EWR. I loved that game, don't get me wrong. It was awesome, and I wouldn't be on this forum if I hadn't played it. But TEW is just light years better.

EWR is too easy once you get how it works. It's worth playing, definitively, for somebody new to sims. Then they buy TEW 2008.

I think the idea of a free wrestling sim itself, unless it is a very simple "Proof-Of-Concept" kind of program, is long gone. You need to be passionate to do it or to have ideas about becoming a pro.

You have to think that for all the hype and demos there were over the years in the last 10 years, I've only seen a handful of playable free games come out in the genre...

- Extreme Warfare Deluxe, The forefather of EWR and the TEW series.
- Promotion Wars, which is worth a play even today if only to see IMO the first mass appeal sim. This is the one on which I first made data, and I'm sure many of you have played first.
- Extreme Warfare Revenge, the most popular sim of all time. The one that holds up the best in the group.
- Edge Of Survival Wrestling Federation, which looks like it is no longer available anywhere, this was a WreSpi-type game that could have been a bigger deal had EWR not being around and totally burying it in quality and popularity.

And the chance's you'll get any more are next to 0.

It takes talent, not just ability, to program anything. And an uncanny sense of structure. I've tried to learn Visual Basic. And C++. And Python. One time, I made a title screen that played music and that would fade out to a NES Pro Wrestling-like showcase of wrestlers if you let it idle and come back to the title screen if you moved the mouse or hit a key. That's the best I could do. That was as far as RaveX Pro Wrestling ever got.

EWR will go down as the greatest free sim ever. And maybe the last one. Period.

I just finished and released a simple match simulator that I created over the span over 2.5 weeks.

So there is at least still one person making free sims.

There's a download for it. I'm not sure if this is against the rules or not. If it is, sorry.

Does anybody have a link to the earlier version of ESWF, that beta version seems barely usable.

TEW is much better. I had it on my old computer. The ex has it now. I am getting a new computer so I am still waiting on getting TEW 2008. Been playing EWR though. Its still fun to play. Dont play computer games much so its fun for me. Actually just updated the February 2009 database I found to be current. I just dont like the EWR forums so I post on these boards. Not sure how many people still play EWR yet.
