Contracts and tournaments

This is a stupid question but I started playing wmma2 for the first time. I wanted to wait for the real life mod but i´m getting wmma hives from not playing.

I arranged a lightweight tournament but i get a notice that some of the fighters will become free agents if you fight in the tournament.

But i can't negotiate their contracts.....If i go to the roster and go to employment and press negotiate but they game then informs me that since their are under contract with GAMMA(my promotion), i can't negotiate with them.

How do renegotiate existing contracts?

I'm having the same problem. I usually just go out and hire somebody else to take the spot. I've lost plenty of guys to other companies because I couldn't get into negotations with the guys to try to beat the rivals offer due to the same thing you get.

I've lost both of my champions because of that

You can't, unless it has 28 days or 1 fight left.

that seems a bit unfair to me.especially when my top guys get snagged from me and I'm not able to do anything about it.maybe I can find a way around it lmao

You can only negotiate with a fighter if they are on the market. If you could renegotiate a deal with a fighter, it would be possible to completely block ANYONE from ever being able to sign them just by making sure their contract never got to 1 fight/28 days left. If people are being stolen from you, then you're just having to deal with not being #1 in the world. Welcome to the position that most people are in.

I understand that argument but then a possible WMMA 3 needs to take care of this problem.....Renegosiations in the middle of existing contracts happen all the time. Lets say you sign a rather unknown fighter to a fairly low salary, and he then wins 4 matches in a row, and begins to build hype, he would demand a new contract.

you could do this in WMMA 1 and I have to say that its disappointing that you can't in wmma 2.

I think a suitable way to fix it would be when you book the tournament the game checks the contract, and if they do not have a suitable amount of fights negotiations are allowed to be opened. But it would need to undo the contract change if you pull the guy out of the tournament to stop people using it to cheat.
