Default Tips for getting new workers over?

Perhaps an obvious question, but it's not covered in the otherwise helpful FAQ.

I am playing as CGC, and given that it is a fed prone to losing competitors to its larger local rival, I've tried to introduce talented new wrestlers with "F" popularity.

I very quickly learned from a few disastrous matches against similarly talented but unknown opponents that that was not the way to go (even as dark matches, as that brings the crowd mood down even if it doesn't damage the show rating).

Hence, I put them with midcarders, and in one aspect that was a success. Ace Youngblood, for instance, averages a D+, with two C+s and a C- from 12 matches. However, his ppopularity has not moved from an F in any region. It's the same with all of my other new workers. Another new worker is averaging a C from 6 matches, and has used his A microphone ability on several promos, with no movement in popularity at all.

How on earth do I get that to change?

Well, sometimes it just take a little while. Putting them against midcarders is definetely the right call, but depending on high or low of an F that is it might take a wee bit longer. Not to mention if you're booking them in dark matches while going all across Canada, they'll only gain popularity in the region the dark match was booked, unlike if they were to appear on TV which would net them a popularity gain all across the viewing area.

Go look in the in-game editor and look at their popularity there, and then compare it to that in the database editor. It's a good way to see if a worker is gaining popularity, even if it hasn't been enough to change the letter grade of it yet.

Finally, keep in mind that some workers will simply be prone to gain popularity easier than others, usually those with higher Star Quality. Some workers are, simply, just tough to get over.

Ive taken champange lover from F- popularity in the US to C in 3 months

I used him as a face jobbing him out to (and sometimes beating) freddy huggins

I think having them look strong against higher up guys works and giving them interviews if they are good (like CL)
