That's exactly why I didn't want to release it. I don't agree with Phil releasing unfinished data but what's done it done.

I learned a theory in a business management class I took that I believe applies to the updates as well.

Right (quality)
Fast (speed)
Cheap (cost)

Only two of those three can be done successfully. You have...

1. Good quality and produced quickly, but expensive.
2. Fast and cheap, but low quality.
3. Good quality and cheap, but produced slowly.

Since we can't legally charge money for the data, that rules out options #1 since you get the data free (cheap) by default. I'd say the best option is #3 because I personally don't want to play with half-assed data.

My games with the RaveX data always freeze up on the "Checking Head Bookers" thing on the first day. Which sucks, oh well.

It's not frozen. Just have some more patience. RaveX is more than 3x the size of the Cornellverse so it will obviously take longer to load. Plus the first few days will always take much longer.

I have a 2.80 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. My average loading time for the first day is about 8 minutes. The next few days are in the 4-6 minute range. After that, loading times are usually 2 minutes or less. I've even had loading times as low as 45 seconds on days where there's no shows.

Compare that to the average of 8-12 minutes I had running RaveX on TEW 2004. It's quite an improvement but you will still need patience. Every game takes time to load. My PS2 even takes at least a minute to load stuff.

Definately agree with you on your business management class theories, Jeff. Also, I know this is premature, but will you guys be making a Ravex Lite version? I don't care too much about all the tiny promotions I've never heard of, the more major ones of the indy scene are fine for me, about 25, like EWR... If you don't, I can always do it myself, but just curious.
Anyways! I really appreciate the work you guys do. I never got into real data in '04, so I'm used to the Cornellverse, so am going to stick with that for now

Just a few suggestions about TV networks in the UK.

We have:
BBC1 (Very Big)
BBC2 (Big)
ITV (Very Big)
Channel 4 (Big)
Channel 5 (Medium)

And then there's add-on channels like:
BBC3 (Small)
ITV2 (Medium)
E4 (Medium)

Sky Sports could also be split into 3 channels.
Sky Sports 1 (Big)
Sky Sports 2 (Medium)
Sky Sports 3 (Small)

and Bravo! Is also shown in the UK. I wouldn't consider it mainstream, it's more riskier. (Unless the channels are different). It used to show ECW in the daytime.

I don't think all of those should be in. BBC is never going to show wrestling, ITV sure as hell won't touch it after the Celebrity Wrestling incident and I seriously doubt Channel 4 will. Channel 5 and Sky Sports (As one channel) are fine and as long as The Wrestling Channel is in, that's all you need for UK Channels.

I just like having a variety to choose from. I'm still confident that one day a British promotion will get a TV deal on a main channel, even if it's in the graveyard slots. I can't believe it hasn't happened already, the World of Sport Wrestling on ITV was one of it's biggest shows (and that was in a prime time slot) until it was dropped mysteriously.

On "Channel 5", it's more commonly called "five" nowadays (without capitalization). Also, it used to air WCW Saturday night around '99/'00.

But it's nice to see, at least to help point out errors (Ryan Bollocks, or something like that, is set too young, The space in DDT's profile makes the last line impossible to read on the promotion selection screen, etc.) not that you'd miss them. It's also nice to see how my system might handle the actual finished data, a trial run so to speak, so I know if I need to be a slavering fanboy about your release or not. Oh, and if the player unzips the data into its own folder and includes four folders named "People", "Belts", "SaveGames", and "Logos" (Note the caps, you guys might even want to consider including the empty folders in future proper releases) in the same folder as the data, the game will see it without the player needing to create a new database in-game. Then you just need to drop in your pics from '04 into the "People" folder, and you're ready to go! I just found that out.
