Hey. Like a lot of people on here I've played the default data into the ground now the game's been out for a while, so I figured I'd look at expanding it with some new characters. The problem with that is that a) I didn't want to bug the renderers with hundreds of unreasonable requests and b) it's hard to add interesting characters without upsetting the balance of what's already there.
So I figured I'd try to create my own that, if I felt it was up to scratch, could then be released publically. The data is initially graphic free and completely text, primarily so I can keep a fast pace working on it and I'd rather it have no renders than be quarter-rendered so to speak. To help it along I'm looking for any contributions from you guys, particularly with fighters and camps. If enough people want to help it'll be a case of me posting the template, you fill it in and re-post it and I'll make any edits necessary and add them in. So yeah, who's up for it? Btw, It's not a commitment thing. People can drop in and out with as big or little contribution as they like whenever they want. NB/ To all those who messaged me during my absence, I consider any mods I've made free to use, but it's based off the ToS guys work, so you'd have to get there permission first. |

I'd advice you to start from editing the previous unofficial expansions, like the one from Weidt. It's a lot more fun for the community to be able to have one BIG-ass database to play with, then having multiple ones that are pretty much the same with some minor differences.

I started to make a fictional mod which was somewhat based off your Dawn of MMA mod. What I mean is the mod starts at the beginning of MMA in this fictional world.
This was mostly done because I have yet to figure out how experience works in the game. Therefore, I just started the mod at the beginning of MMA so I would not have to worry about how experience works because everyone is new to the sport. Anyway, I only have 12 workers created thus far and I think only two or three have bios (I have a hard time coming up with bios for the MMA game.). Anyway, if you want I can shoot the workers over to you so you can have a look at them and see if you would like to use them. |

Sounds like a great idea. Do you intend to make it one where fighters already have records and are signed to promotions? That was the one thing that stopped me playing FSC.

) was two mods in one. It would have been set in the same world but you would have the dawn of the world in one version of the mod. And in the second version of the mod you would have an evolved version of the same world/data.How I would have done it was sim five to ten years into the data and get the stats from that. Therefore, you end up with two different mods based on the same data. Yes it is a lot of work but I think that it could work. Not sure if anyone would want to try that or not. |

One thing that i personally think would be cool is using narratives, especially ones like economic booms and crashes both for Global and Regional areas. The TEW modders seems to use that feature more, than the WMMA3 modders.

Indeed! I modded my personal db to contain various narratives. If it's fleshed out, I'd offer it for dl, but unfortunately I have been juggling with new renders so no way to legitly ask for permission.
Some Narratives (due to the underusing like you said) seem to be bugged as well. Like the pop boosts. |

It would be great if the import option was available for narratives in the editor. I'm really interested in the narratives though. Maybe they could the posted in this thread or one of the old narrative threads. I'm using a couple myself that i got from various TEW mods.

UPDATE #2 CEO's: 6 Companies: 6 End of Year Awards: 1 (2003) Fight Teams: 35 Fighters: 104 Hall of Fame: 5 PPV Agreements: 4 PPV Carriers: 19 Relationships: 14 Titles: 30 TV Shows: 3 TV Slots: 3 TV Stations: 43 User Avatars: 6 To give a flavour of what it's turning out like, I'll post a bit of "background" every now and then: Company #1: Premier Fighting Championships World Ranking: 1 out of 6 CEO: Harrison Brooks Opened: September 1993 Divisions: Lightweight - Heavyweight (155, 170, 185, 205, 265) North America's most prestigious fighting organisation, Premier Fighting has grown from huge debts and near closure to being a profitable powerhouse. Lacking the finesse of its Japanese counterparts, PFC certainly puts money into its production values, but relies namely on the skills and personalities of its fighters, as highlighted by the success of its "Premier Fighters" reality TV show. Top Ten P4P (Will change as new fighters are added) 1) Fidel 'Quake' Molina (17-3, Ground and Pound, HW) 2) 'Lethal' Tom Luger (20-2, Mixed Martial Arts, LHW) 3) 'The Immovable Object' Tommy Samson (44-6-3, Ground and Pound, WW) 4) Brad 'The Spider' Patterson (19-4, Mixed Martial Arts, LW) 5) Eddie 'El Diablo' Juarez (15-0, Sprawl 'n' Brawl, LHW) 6) Jésus 'Virtue' Vedder (19-0, Valé Tudo, LHW) 7) 'Ice Cold' Austin Denver (21-3, Kick Boxing, HW) 8) Todd 'Bomberman' Beck (18-2-1, Kick Boxing, HW) 9) DeWain 'Paycheck' Buckley, (10-0, Street Judo, LHW) 10) 'The King of the Jungle' Bruce Carter (26-5, Greco-Roman Wrestling, LHW) |

I'm sure this mod will be fantastic, as your previous work has proven and if you need any help with regards to renders, I will be happy to help.

This is a fantastic idea, one that I've taken in and started doing a mod of my own. As a person who loves to write as a hobby, create worlds and characters, even though I know I probably won't be able to write thousands of characters, I've started doing it just for the joy of it. Maybe somewhere down the line we'll compare our work and then do a merger, if the styles match up?

Just a heads-up to the people who PM'd me. Sorry I haven't got back to you guys, I just barely get time to come online and post these updates recently. Once I can be online more often I'll post a template for fighters and answer the questions I've received. Thought it'd be much quicker to do a public reply than several individual ones. Anyhoo, next update:
UPDATE #3 CEO's: 6 Companies: 6 End of Year Awards: 1 (2003) Fight Teams: 40 Fighters: 168 Hall of Fame: 5 PPV Agreements: 5 PPV Carriers: 19 Relationships: 18 Titles: 30 TV Shows: 3 TV Slots: 3 TV Stations: 43 User Avatars: 6 Company #2: VALOUR Fighting Championships World Ranking: 2 out of 6 CEO: Kenji Sasuhara Opened: May 1996 Divisions: Lightweight - Heavyweight (161, 183, 205, 206+) Currently Japan's biggest MMA promotion, VALOUR is the home to some of the most spectacular events in any sport. Often unashamedly placing style over substance, their Grand Prixs are the stuff of legend and win/loss records are certainly secondary to excitement. That said, they have some supremely talented athletes on their roster who can compete with the very best. Top Ten P4P (Will change as new fighters are added) 1) 'The Russian Nightmare' Vladislav Kanayeva (33-1-2, Russian Combat Sambo, HW) 2) 'The Fallen' Lazarus Duarté (28-4-1, Muay Thai, LHW) 3) 'The Grandmaster' Yoshihiko Kotaro (31-7, Judo, HW) 4) Rodya 'The Undertaker' Zamyotov (34-5-1, Russian Sambo, HW) 5) Masahiro 'Tsunami' Loki (12-0-1, Pro Wrestling, MW) 6) Henrik 'Werewolf' Grimm (18-1-1, Kick Boxing, WW) 7) 'Lion Heart' Soo Song (18-5, Pro Wrestling, HW) 8) 'The Invincible Samurai' Heizo Tsurubuta (12-0, Wrestling, LHW) 9) 'Brazil's Angel' Vinicious Perreira Jnr., (11-0, Perreira Jiu Jitsu, LHW) 10) 'Prime Time' Paul James (24-4, Traditional Jiu Jitsu, HW) NB/ VALOUR will almost definitely see big changes to its rankings by BETA testing, currently they only have about fifteen fighters on the roster. If anyone wants any additional information on specific fighters they like the look of or fancy rendering, I'll post their bio if it's finished. |

I love your names. I am having a hard time with them, especially making American names that don't sound just stupid or too generic.

If I'm completely honest, a small portion of them are regens from old games that I liked the sound of, and had developed a personality from the fights they'd had.
