Default Starship Captain game?

Since we have Comic book hero on the way. It got me thinking wouldn't it be cool to have some sort of starship captain game like Star Trek or the likes.

You can select officers for your ship. Deal with random events. Be aggressive or diplomatic. All kinds of things or maybe even just a cadet and play his carer as he rises from the lowest of the low to admiral. Just think it would be so fun especially considering the massive amount of disappointing Star Trek games out there.

Yes please! I would totally mark on that one. And the mod possibilites are also good: Star Trek, Star Wars, Babylon 5, Andromeda, and so many other universes that could be merged into a great mod or made separately.

Never heard of that. If it's not from the great talents here though not sure I'd trust it anyway. Never much cared for these types of games from anyone else. The guys here at GDS make good games though.

Battle Cruiser was playable but it had a series of problems that made it boring to me. The never ending list of controls was the worst part. And you couldn't access it while one game, wich was deal breaker to me. We couldn't minimize the game...and so on... Too bad, it had potential.

One thought would be doing it as a career game, starting out with small ships like freighters or escorts, and minor missions, then building up to bigger ships and tougher missions as you build your command prestige.

Starfleet Command had something similiar to this as you were able to buy bigger and more powerful ships as you accrued command prestige for completing missions.

I like this train of thought maybe make it like Mass Effect where you are able to go out and get people to join your crew. The more command prestige you have the better crew you are able to get.
