Default Same Suit Different Person

I wonder if it will be possible for a different character to dawn the mantle of a certain hero or villain.

Real world examples would be The red hood. Several villains have gone by that name. Also Both the falcon and Buckeye have donned the mantle of Captain America at one time along with Superman posing as Batman at one time in a story line where Batman had either been injured or had vanished for a bit.

Also looking at the DC universe tree there have been several to use the name the flash. Though if im not mistaken i believe they were all related.

Would be cool if it could be done.

The Phantom (not sure if it ever was a Comic) would be another example. This actually would be really cool and clever.

Is there an actual super hero named Buckeye, or are you talking about Bucky? I'm not being a jerk, I'm actually really intrigued if there's a character named Buckeye.

You're mistaken - Jay Garrick had no direct relationship to Barry Allen. Barry, Wally and Bart have all been related.

On the other hand, Jay has coexisted with Wally and Bart, with both using the name Flash. Wildcat and Wildcat's son are both called Wildcat. Etc. There have been up to five people callsigned Green Lantern active at the same time.

Wow,did not no the phantom comic strip still going strong.

Hey Phantom did they ever bring back Bart from the dead. I know they killed him in the D/C epic series world at war.

I have not been into comics much since prices soured to like 5 dollars. Mostly just watch the animated videos now and read the graphic novels and regular novels.

Bart Allen returned pretty recently, in The Flash: Rebirth, in 2009. However, he returned from his death at the hands of the Rogues Gallery in 2008, years after Our Worlds At War, which ran in 2001. No Flash died in Our Worlds At War.

I thought that seemed a little wrong, so I did what I did checking on the Phantom strip; I googled.

Amazing how that works.

I think this is pretty much how regens or comic book deaths work already. The more pressing problem would be to have enough alternate renders and for those who don't know about the characters to understand that they are switching for the renders and for those specific characters to be tied to characters in such a way that you can make the older characters disappear or be made irrelevant without making it as if they disappeared. (like a fake death angle)
