So I posted a reply to Adam's latest twitter message. He doesn't look like he uses it much so I decided to post my question on here in hopes that I can get some clarification. However, I won't disclose the actually post seeing as he wants his twitter stuff to be more exclusive. So serious guys, if you have a twitter or you just love his games and don't have one, get on there and follow him. He has very interesting tweets about the upcoming CBH.
So my question. After seeing the size of the roster which is a lot lower than I expected, I wanted to know how would load times be. I ask this because I a game of WMMA3 currently going that has 4700+ characters in it. I merged my exported roster from my C-Verse that I had been playing for 13 game with JT Money's 4.0 Mod. Now in this game the load times are horrendous. I'm not saying several minutes but long enough for me to go do something else in between days. Now I have the Marvel encyclopedia on my coffee table and as the inside cover will tell you the book is packed with 1200+ characters. I'm assuming that DC has around the same. Than you add all of the other possible mods and the character amount can really start getting out of hand. Which Adam originally wrote that "the bigger the better". While I'm sure that probably still remains true for actually game play what about load times. Because now instead of a few continents and a roster to load you will have to load hundreds of places and thousands of characters. Is this game equipped to handle that or should modders look to slim down there mods and stick to around what the default database will come with. Also I would just like to say that I have started gathering info for to make a Mortal Kombat mod. I figure I've played others mods and done stuff to my own games and its time to give back. I will definitively wait till the game is released to assign number value's to there abilities but the pics and info is already well underway. |

The game hasn't been stress tested yet, however I anticipate it handling several thousand characters and locations without any issue based on how it is handling the test data currently being used.

That's great to hear. And I see that you responded to me on twitter so I will make sure in the future that I keep twitter questions on twitter. I was worried for a little bit that all the aspects of the game was so huge that other things may suffer like character and place amount.
And I hadn't heard of that site in general Mike B but I know of some like them. I prefer the books or the actual websites to the companies because then your not getting 3rd party input. I'm actually looking for a DC book right now. Figure in my spare time I can add some of the smaller characters that whoever will be making the DC and Marvel mods leave out. |
