Joss Thompson is a face. He's goofy and cheesy and as an American in a predominantly English (note its not British!) company he's going to get some stick, but he's a well-meaning guy. |

![]() A dirty gym in the East End of London. A sign hangs above a makeshift boxing ring saying “Brown’s”. Inside the ring three men all cling on to a muscled, shaven-headed fighter in a dirty vest. His attackers are all clearly trying to cinch in different holds. One has his arm bent back. One has his head in a chokehold. One has his ankle bent at an obscene angle. The bald man somehow summons an amazing surge of strength and throws his attackers away from him. He turns to the camera and rasps three short words. “NEVER. GIVE. UP.” ![]() ![]() |

![]() Trafalgar Square. The fourth plinth. It’s a grey and rainy day and seems thoroughly miserable. From the camera angle we can see Nelson’s Column but not what is on the plinth. A crowd of tourists are gathered around snapping pictures furiously of whatever is on top. Flashbulbs pop and an audible buzz of amazement murmurs. The camera pans up and reveals two young men wearing next to nothing. They’re both fit, muscled and sculpted but are clad online in what can only be described as shiny hot pants and carrying a pair of gold championship belts. The younger poser turns to the other: “I told you the crowds would come out to see us.” “I’m not sure they’re all here for us actually.” “Of course they are. Why else would a load of tourists come to central London?” “Fair point. We are Too Hot. We are the biggest tourist attraction in England. Now – time for some extreme posing!” The two men somehow flex even more as the drizzle drips from their noses. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() A grassy, tranquil hillside in what appears to be the Home Counties. Suddenly, out of nowhere a giant inflatable ball zooms past. The film pauses and you can just about make out the face of a guy inside the ball wearing a Union Flag bandana. He’s wide-eyed, screaming but happy looking. The film rolls again and a few seconds later another ball flies past – this one also freezes. Inside this one is a beautiful girl looking similarly exhilarated but a bit more terrified. Film rolls again and five seconds later another bunch of balls roll past. They’re full of children who can’t be more than ten years old and are all wearing school uniform. It’s clear that the adults have been racing the children with full commitment and no easing off. A legend is displayed on screen: Adam and Phoebe. The First Couple of extreme. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

![]() Views of Blackpool in Northern England. We see the bleak, desolate shoreline. An abandoned amusement arcade. A dilapidated old casino. A forlorn, grizzled fisherman. The faded but still majestic tower. Sad-looking donkeys. A voiceover comes in: “This is where Rough Justice grew up. Tommy Cornell is the finest wrestler of his generation. A multiple World Champion. One of the biggest stars this sport has ever seen. Instantly recognisable to millions.” We switch to a brightly-lit ballroom with one young man wearing casual clothes and a hood in the centre of the floor. The young man throws back his hood. “He’s not the only Cornell.” ![]() ![]() |

![]() Leicester Square at night-time. As the lights flash, there’s a huge crowd straining at barricades with police holding people back from rioting. Fans surge forward trying to get a glimpse. A voice sings out over the noise: “Everywhere I hear the sound of marching, charging feet, boy ‘Cause summers here and the time is right for fighting in the street, boy” The camera pans around and we see the singer is in a leather jacket with an extravagant blonde mop of hair. He struts and preens as the crowd only scream even louder. Unfortunately the camera pans further and we see that the crowd are actually staring in the opposite direction at another celebrity heading to the film premiere. Rolling Johnny Stones doesn’t care. He just carries on singing. ![]() |

![]() Outside the entrance to Brixton Tube. The high street’s busy as people surge past but a young guy with dreads and wearing a tight t-shirt (with a Jamaican flag on it) stands still munching on a stuffed roti and grinning. “I ‘n’ I been waitin’ for this. The chance to shine. “You ain’t seen nuttin’ like me before. “Straight from the streets - I’m Danny Francis.” ![]() ![]() |

![]() A ruined church in a bleak, windswept field. The camera speeds in at dizzying speed past walls into the centre of the ruin. A thin but wiry man in his twenties stands motionless with closed eyes on a fallen stone. He has a white-painted face with red flashes and wears a grey flowing robe. He opens his eyes slowly and turns to the camera. “I see you. I always see you. “I am the Grey Angel.” ![]() ![]() |

Next time on 21CW: Best of British Wrestling ![]() The first show of the new 21CW era sees the World title on the line. Jeff Nova has promised that 21CW will show everyone exactly why they’re the most exciting up-and-coming company in wrestling. Dare you miss out? All matches are listed in alphabetical order except where titleholders are involved. In which case they come first. ![]() Joss Thompson vs Leo Price for the 21CW World title ![]() ![]() ![]() An American as our World Champion shows how global the all-new 21CW is. Joss is now a fan-favourite after his less-than friendly past but he won’t be happy about coming face-to-face with his biggest rival and ex-best friend in the first show of the year. Adam Matravers vs. Business Jones ![]() ![]() ![]() Two of 21CW’s hottest properties go head to head in a dramatic clash of styles. Jones is a tough-brawling old-schooler whilst ‘Mile-high’ has been accused in the past of style over substance with his high-flying flair. Both men will be looking to establish a foothold in the new order. Eddie Cornell vs. Cyberpunk ![]() ![]() ![]() The younger Cornell cousin is getting a lot of talk on the internet but hasn’t really achieved much in his home country. Certainly not enough to wear that surname with any pride. Cyberpunk meanwhile has been very confidently predicting a change of fortune for himself and with his own hacking abilities could well be able to manipulate public opinion to back himself up. Too Hot (Buff Martinez & Jay B) vs. The Anglo-Scots Connection (Davey Celtic & London) [non-title match] ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The 21CW tag champs are another pair not short of confidence. They wear the belts with pride but it has to be said they haven’t defended them with the same panache. The Anglo-Scots Connection are clearly talented enough to wear those same belts but they’ll have to prove themselves worthy first. K’Lee Hawkins vs Nate Manchester vs Phillip Cooper vs. Rolling Johnny Stones – UK title no. 1 contenders match ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Four men come together with very different backgrounds. Only one can establish himself as the challenger to grey Angel. Rolling Johnny Stones is the biggest name but whispers say he’s past it and that younger, more energetic men will be stealing his thunder this year in 21CW… ![]() All opinions are welcome. The best predictor will receive their choice of bespoke items from the famed 21CW Merchandise House: based in Coventry the manufactory has a reputation for inspiration and shoddiness in equal measure. Please bear in mind that 21CW is a sports entertainment promotion. Draws are to be expected! Joss Thompson vs Leo Price for the 21CW World title
No title change on first show. Adam Matravers vs. Business Jones No idea here. Eddie Cornell vs. Cyberpunk Cornell just win. Oh wait it´s Eddie not Tommy... well Cornel still wins. Too Hot vs. The Anglo-Scots Connection I like Connection but Too Hot is the team here who got a preview post so I figure that they are more important. K’Lee Hawkins vs Nate Manchester vs Phillip Cooper vs. Rolling Johnny Stones – UK title no. 1 contenders match RJS looks like the biggest name here but then again I haven´t played in UK for some time now and don´t remember much. Bonus question: Who gets attacked backstage? Me, wait no I´m not there lets say Danny Francis |

Joss Thompson vs Leo Price for the 21CW World title
Too early to talk about anyone taking the title... especially Price. Did he even have his own vignette? Adam Matravers vs. Business Jones I'm assuming Business Jones is a comedy character... Matravers is one of your aces. Eddie Cornell vs. Cyberpunk Too Hot vs. The Anglo-Scots Connection Guys with vignettes over guys without. Anyway, the Daveys are not good. Washington can cut a promo, though. K’Lee Hawkins vs Nate Manchester vs Phillip Cooper vs. Rolling Johnny Stones – UK title no. 1 contenders match Younger challengers may be trying to take down Stones. Younger jobbers, not so much. Bonus question: Who gets attacked backstage? I'm going to say Phillip Cooper. Attacked by a hat come to life. (Or possibly Danny Patterson. Patterson's in 21CW in '10, right?) |
